Christopher's in Shropshire

Booked for an 80th birthday celebration, for 20 people. Unfortunately we could only celebrate on Mothers Day as one of the guests was home from S Korea on a short break and was the only day we could fit in. The menu was the Mothers Day menu and we had hoped for more choice but we weren't disappointed the food was excellent and service was good. Everyone enjoyed the food, thankyou Christopher, the day was very special. The stairs were a bit of a problem for anyone with mobility issues.

Family meal out this evening, the steak was cooked the way we all asked for, it was beautiful, highly recommend, lovely meal and wine, couldn’t fault it.

This place is a credit to Shifnal. Such good food, a straightforward but varied menu, and the servers are just brilliant - so attentive and you’ll want for nothing. The new upstairs area is beautiful.

We’re not local to the area, but wow what a gem this place is. Sunday roast was superb, very accommodating. Give this place a try.

Great little restaurant in a lovely old building. The food was excellent, I started with the pigeon, then had the Sunday roast all served on nice warm plates. Dessert was a chocolate brownie with ice cream. Everything was cooked beautifully and presented well. The service was really good and cheerful and we had an unhurried experience giving us plenty of time to chat and enjoy the food.

Last minute spontaneous visit. Amazing and quaint spot. Very beautiful and welcoming. The food was amazing. I will return if I am in the area again

Went with the girls for afternoon tea and it was amazing!! Very polite and happy staff, christine was lovely nothing was to much trouble for her. The sandwich’s were delicious and fresh, and a good variety, cake was also delicious and good selection. Would definitely recommend going 😊

Impromptu eat out excellent fresh food...plenty of it and steal at £27 a head for 2 courses with wine.

Seriously good food cooked to order. Some great flavours and modern ideas. Well recommended. Chat to the chef and the lovely front of house lady, they're both really down to earth and are clearly enthusiastic about what they are doing. Oh, and insane value for money!

We had an excellent Sunday lunch. Waitresses were lovely, very efficient and we weren't rushed between courses. It was very busy, and there was a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely return.

We were welcomed warmly into the pretty restaurant. The food was very good. I had the squid followed by the pheasant. Both dishes were lovely. My husband had the wild boar terrine and then a t bone steak. The steak was excellent, cooked to perfection. A very pleasant experience. We will definitely be revisiting

Family member organised a Christmas get together, and a gem of a find! Quite a compact joint, so not too much space between you and other tables. Though still enough. Food was really good. Quality and quantity of food against a price point - really good. And the variety of dishes also really well done. Drove 75 miles to come here and we didn't leave disappointed. Thanks!

Disappointing at best. Mediocre service - tough steak - some strange topping on the fish with an odd unneeded sauce. Starters were good and desserts not bad… won’t be back!

Chose this restaurant after reviewing others on Google for a Sunday Lunch after a spa day as not local to the area. Excellent. Couldn't have chosen better. Food piping hot, fresh and so tasty. Desserts lovely.Not expensive for the quality. Compliments to the Chef and lovely staff. Highly recommended.

I booked a party of three in on Friday evening the two young ladies front of house were very attentive/ we all had the soup and bread rolls soup was excellent then main courses came had to wait a while but that’s ok my wife and sister in law had the belly pork I had the crusted cod loin they enjoyed there’s but my cod was over cooked and dry and the vegetables were very hard I know what aldente means but they weren’t cooked at all very disappointing selection of vegetables for the prices they charge the fish I had was not worth the money if your going to cook fish don’t over cook it I was an executive chef for 32 years not impressed with a chef who cannot cook fish properly should never be dry and there should have been a sauce with it the herb crust wasn’t very nice either but on a good note the crème brûlée was really nice the shortbread biscuit you served was over cooked and burnt on the bottom we will try it again but we will see if there any improvement s

Fantastic place. Sunday dinner was exceptional. Really couldn't fault the food it really is the best Sunday dinner i've ever had. Lovely atmosphere and staff friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Ate here last night, we had lots of starters together like tapas and ALL were outstanding. Cannot recommend enough, the aranchini were the best I've ever had. Service was spot on, gorgeous premises and lovely wine.

It was quiet when I ate which suited me. Service was good. Food very tasty. A small menu but didn't mind. The music was a bit inappropriate at times e.g. one song had f**k in it. I'm not offended but others may be.

Fish course was Cod but was covered in bacon and tasted same Wished it was a fish dish !!!! n

Had a lovely meal with friends last Friday (15th Oct) with good service. Though small restaurant it's cosy and ambiance is so relax. Staffs are accommodating and attentive to the customer's needs. Food is slightly price but still recommend the place.

Lovely food. Great atmosphere. Service a little slow, took ten minutes to clear finished plates, despite having a drink served during this time.

Outstanding meal this evening / steak for one Seabass for second persons order. The food was delicious and front house were delightful. Absolutely would recommend:)

We had a family get together here 13 of us all together. All the meals were lovely and well timed so we all ate together. I had Steak it was cooked beautiful and served with a delicious blue cheese sauce. Highly recommended.

Meals are very good at Christopher's and the ambience and atmosphere are a delight. The drinks selection is very limited regarding beers with only two to choose and bottles only. Be warned though, beers are served at room temperature which is not good! So if you don't want warm beer, then request they put some in the fridge when you book. You will then enjoy a lovely time.

Amazing food and amazing service

Went to Christopher's last night with my girlfriend for the 3rd time (overdue review) and it was amazing to be back in a restaurant after so long. Food and service was excellent, they've recently starting serving cocktails as well which is a massive bonus, they were awesome! Can't wait to go back.

What a lovely restaurant excellent food very friendly and reasonably priced. Will definitely go back.I think you need to book to be sure of a table as it's quite small but it's very clean and cosy.
