I have been coming to Cote in Esher for a long time now & last week was the worst
There are all new staff that are not very good at service, they do not listen , got the order wrong, our pudding came & they had not cleared our plates away & the other tables were left with dirty plates etc on them.
Our food had obviously been left standing for a long time waiting for service as it looked dry & it was not hot.
Throughly disappointed as we have always had excellent service previously.
Such a lovey pub with great service! Becks and Sienna were so attentive and brought so much energy - we’ll be back. See you soon! Thank you for looking after us!
Booked for lunch x4. Was quite busy when arrived but empty when came to pay bill. Nobody came to arrange bill or ask if anyone wanted coffee etc. Slow service throughout the meal when we needed to order. Food was good, staff polite but thought it couldve been better service as there were alot of young staff on. A few were friendly and smiling. As with all restaurants now, young people are the main servers. But they all lack alot of table manners and customer service. That's down to management training .. or lack of.
Very nice change to the usual food served in pubs. It still keeps the same pub traditions but offers a selection of tapas. Every tapas dish we ordered was tasty, far too much ordered for the two of us, but we scoffed the lot! Some of tapas dishes we enjoyed was the patatas bravas, Jamón croquetas, JP beef burger, piquillo, sheep cheese and allioli and chorizo cooked in wine. The flavours were delightful, just spectacularly good.
Lovely little place for a coffee and light lunch! Coffees arrived fast and tasted great. My partner ordered the peri peri chicken wrap which was super juicy and I had the beef brisket ramen (genuinely 10/10 - I was pleasantly surprised!) we sat outside on clean tables and sofas… basking in the sunshine.
Staff were friendly and attentive which was an added bonus too.
Will be stopping by again when we’re next in the area!
On a horrid rainy New Year's Day I went into Eight with three friends for my birthday. Daniel & his team were absolutely lovely & made me feel special & really spoilt me. The food was delicious & the customer service outstanding. Thank you for a lovely time & a happy new year to you all.
We visited The Greek Vine Taverna in Wallington last night to celebrate our sons 17th birthday and had the most amazing evening. Dancing, plate smashing and wonderful food. The staff were fantastic, not only were they constantly bringing food to the table, but their dancing skills were very impressive too. The whole restaurant was up dancing. Thank you for making a fantastic memory, we will be back!
Very cosy and good atmosphere. Friendly staff and amazing food!
I had a tempura bento box and avocado maki. My partner had chicken udon, cucumber maki and gyozas. We also had some miso soup on the side. We loved everything and will definitely be returning soon 🥰
(The plates and bowls were beautiful too!)
I visited Nando's recently with my boyfriend, and I have to say, the service was appalling. From the moment our server, Ruby, approached our table, her behavior was completely unprofessional. She blatantly ignored me and directed all her attention to my boyfriend, going out of her way to flirt with him right in front of me.
It was as if I wasn’t even there – she didn’t address me once, not even when I tried to order. She only spoke to him, smiling and laughing excessively, and completely dismissing my presence.
I’ve never experienced such disrespectful service before. Dining out is supposed to be enjoyable, but Ruby’s behavior left me feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. Nando's really needs to train their staff (or maybe just ruby) on professionalism and customer respect. Definitely not what I expected, and it has put me off returning.
I Ordered a coffee at the counter and was charge just under £5 for a flat white, whilst waiting I noticed prices were different on the board and menus. After asking why I was charged more than the advertised price the lady informed me because I was sitting in. Surely this must be advised so customers are aware of difference in pricing. Highly overpriced coffee even for Cobham.
First time here since last summer (didn’t think a lot of it then either!).
Thought it may have improved because under new management, but sadly it seems to be worse. All hot drinks were luke warm and a toasted tea cake was stone cold.
Shame really as in lovely location.

They had an absolute nightmare, knowing they had a group of 10 coming they didn't arrange adequate staff nor top up beer stocks! My food was good but had to ask for it twice. Others not so happy and all came out in random order so people had rice but no meal!
