Fego in Elmbridge

As a South African I really wanted to enjoy Frego since it has SA options on the menu. Sadly the Frego smash burger is the worst burger I’ve ever eaten. The meat was either off or strange mix of meat since it tasted gamey/tangy! I took one bite and couldn’t eat any more. My wife also took a bite and agreed something wrong with the meat. The bun was chewy as if it was stale and had water splashed on it and microwaved. It’s two meat patties, red onion and a sauce, so predominantly just meat, which was awful. My son’s chicken wrap was good and wife’s salmon Poke bowl was ok. We had different staff for order, deliver and then payment. They efficiently cleared my burger, which clearly was 80% not eaten. Expected the staff to ask if there was an issue, but no comment and focussed on efficiently clearing plates. Complained at payment and the server just thanked us for the feedback. Staff are either poorly trained or don’t care!

We decided to go for breakfast here early and were welcomed in a friendly manner by an older man. All was going well but, discovering the knives in a pot for us weren’t clean, I apologised for being a pest (why, I don’t know, as it is a given that you should expect clean cutlery) and asked if we could have replacements. The atmosphere changed instantly, his smile disappeared along with the friendliness and we felt very uncomfortable for the rest of our time there. And to rub salt in the wound, the service charge was added automatically at 12.5%, a sum which rewarded bad service. Sadly, it means that we won’t be going again…sad, because the food and coffee were very good, but nobody wants to be made to feel so unwelcome.

The food is good and tasted great.Coffe is one of the beast. But Staff need to be friendlier and I Don't expect to be charged 12.5% to walk a plate to my table.

We had an excellent family breakfast on a Saturday morning. The cafe is clean, stylish and airy situated right in the centre of Cobham. We arrived @09:30 because reservations are not accepted and we didn’t want to queue, as people were as we left. We ordered healthy smoothies and creative, tasty, savoury hot breakfast plates and coffee. Everything was freshly prepared from excellent ingredients. Very tasty and adequate in size without being overpowering. Service was polite, prompt and efficient. Cooked breakfast, smoothies and coffee cost ~£23 per head including service. Cobham has a lovely village feel for a stroll and more coffee elsewhere afterwards. Excellent! We will return.

What has happened to this previously good place to meet. Today we were standing in a queue with about 7 other people nobody came out to seat anyone. After 10 minutes a chap came out stating that today the coffee machine is bust and also no juices available. So we thought that’s ok we only drink sparking water. We ordered but our lunch did not appear for more than half an hour !!! Only when one of us went in and asked so not sure what happened. To add insult to injury as we were waiting for our bill which again we had to go inside find a staff member to ask for the bill …. We saw a couple of juices coming out …. Not sure if they were short staffed and coffee and juices had to be sacrificed sorry fego you need to sort these issues out We ended up going across the road for hot drinks and desserts !!!

Food is always great. Don’t even mind the wait for a table. But I’m afraid today took the p*ss. 20 minutes wait for a table. Fair enough. Wait another 15 minutes to have someone come to the table. Only then to be told that she could only take our drinks order at the moment because the “kitchen was too busy with lots of take away orders”. She would come back and take out food order “in a bit” but it would then be “at least 30 minutes, probably more, before food was ready”. Really poor. Could have told us when we were waiting at the door about order times. Food is great, but if you can’t cope with the demand don’t take the orders. Don’t fill your tills at the cost of really poor customer service.

Have been to Fego many times over the years. Never again. No greeting at all at the door. I asked for a table and was showed to one with no words spoken to me. Menu was put on the table. Ordered the spicy eggs with smoked salmon as an add on. £5.95 for the smallest piece. The eggs were overcooked and jam packed with jalapeños. I do like jalapeños but way over the top. Had to pick loads of them out. The plate was put on the table and taken away without a word spoken to me. Awful service and awful breakfast. I paid £26.73 for the terrible food and an orange juice. I paid on their QR system and had to pay a service charge which I didn’t want to do and then to add another insult was asked if I wanted to tip the waiter. Terrible terrible experience . What a shame. Won’t be back.

Amazing service fabulous food came for food and had a great time. Owner was so charming and lovely the atmosphere and decoration is just impeccable. 10/10 would come again.

Great food, Great service and atmosphere. However, they have now introduced online billing which automatically adds a 12.5% tip, then asks if you would like to leave a further tip for your server. Seriously, what is this all about ? As a customer I was just left with a bad taste, Very poor move. There are so many other places that have clear pricing policies.

We stopped here for lunch on our way home yesterday 28/02/24 Two adults and one 13 year old and one 11 year old. The restaurant inside is very eye catching and modern and welcoming . Smartly dressed staff and a truly wonderful menu with some really interesting dishes that were a treat for the mouth Bao buns were the best I have ever had and miso cauliflower was magnificent. Husband was currently on keto and said the mushroom stroganoff was absolutely perfect . We live local to this place and will definitely be paying it another visit . The chef has put on a great menu here . Top marks to the chef!!!

Lovely welcome, all staff friendly and food excellent and delicious. Had the baked eggs in cheese sauce with cauliflower and pesto with sourdough toast. I did send it back to be flashed again under the grill as the eggs were too undercooked for me but there was no fuss made and I specifically asked the waitress to compliment the Chef. It was delicious and filling! My Chai Latte was on the expensive side compared with a good Portuguese cafe I go to but it was a huge glass beaker! My friend had Malted French Toast with fresh fruit which she said was delicious. My only complaint was that it was very noisy at 1130 and the tables are very close together so it certainly isn’t the place the a quiet catch up. Wish there was one of these nearer me in West Sussex!

Great place in. Order of Cobham. No wasted tables as there is no booking. Had mushrooms on toast and it was delicious. Really friendly service (12.5% a bit high for this type of restaurant). Will be back soon

Pretty decent spot for brunch/lunch. They don't take reservations so sometimes you have to wait for a while. Indoor & outdoor seating. The food is okay, I've had 2 different meals there, and didn't love either, it was mediocre. Good coffee though. Also got a cinnamon roll but it was hard as a rock.. ;(

We had a fantastic experience at Fego Supper Club Vegetarian Middle Eastern menu at the Cobham restaurant. It was the first time we had tried a Fego Supper Social and it was the best Middle Eastern food we have ever eaten locally. It was a special night featuring a menu created by the founder of Bubala and a chef who has worked at Bubala and Ottolenghi. There was a massive Salatim Plate with eight different dishes and lovely soft, warm pitta bread. The fried cauliflower with pickled raisins and salsa verde was a stand out. The main course included grilled halloumi, oyster mushroom shish, crispy za'atar potatoes and chopped salad. We were so full that we couldn't manage the chocolate ganache and honey and feta cheesecake for dessert which they kindly packaged up for us to take home. Flavours and textures were superb. Look out for dates at other Fegos and we are looking forward to whatever the next Supper Club Social food theme is.

Non-existent service, uncomfortable chairs and mediocre food. Not in a hurry to come back any time soon!

We have had a terrible experience at Cobham Fego. Christian on the front desk is rude and has no idea how to manage customers. After waiting 20 min for a table, he gave it away to a a person / friend who had not actually waited in the que. The way he handled us and spoke to us was unacceptable. We supported the store through the whole of covid coming to get pancakes and feel very disappointed.

Great place, people queue out the door but the staff are very friendly and efficient. Great for coffee or breakfast any day

Went for brunch and service was ok not great and we ordered ranchero and pancakes which both were super super cold this was our second visit as the first one was good but sadly won’t be returning no check back on us and I ended up eating it as I couldn’t bother with the hassle of waiting for another one

We absolutely love Fegos. They have the best weekend brunch and milkshakes. Always a hit with our kids. Staff are efficient and friendly. Would recommend.

Today we ordered, through Just Eat quite an expensive order. When it eventually came, 2 items of our order were not delivered. Once we came across this, we tried calling the restaurant a significant amount of times, for no one to pick up at all so couldn’t even tell the restaurant about their mistake. About 20 minutes later, the delivery driver came back with 1 of the items that was missing, not only was it late from the rest of the order, it was also delivered COLD. Still missing part of our order right now, so have had to go through Just Eat to complain about it.

I visit Fegos every time I am in Surrey. The food is always delicious and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. There is an excellent ‘gluten friendly’ menu with many options.

We dropped in here on our way to pick up our dog following a long flight - what a tonic. The food was delicious, orange juice - freshly squeezed, staff efficient and pleasant. We were both sorry that we couldn't stay for more tea and toast. No it isn't super-cheap - but in this case you definitely get what you pay for.

Even though reviews say this place has vegan cake they don’t. We had two ok smoothies and left. The response to do you have vegan cake is, we used to but not anymore.

I had the Ranchero breakfast, which was out of this world: poached eggs, chorizo, mushrooms, chillies, guacamole and yogurt. Absolutely delicious. I’m delighted I found this gem of a restaurant for breakfast.

I had lunch with my family today (December 31st) at Fego in Cobham. Both my daughter and I ordered the chicken burger. The meat was over cooked and dry and it’s temperature suggests that it did not arrive at our table in a timely manner. The service was friendly but slow, but I am willing to overlook this because the restaurant was operating at full capacity. However the food left me disappointed.

Best Brunch Had a fab avocado toast with poached egg, Superb! With some great coffee. Was even better as we sat outside under the heaters with the winter sun. Staff were fabulous! Definitely will be back!

A first rate spot for Sunday brunch and well worth the wait - unable to book so be prepared to queue. The menu is extensive, from lite bites to full on plates that will set you up for the day - something to suit everyone. We opted for the indulgent nutella and mascarpone French toast - absolutely delicious and the accompanying selection of fruit balanced the sweetness of the toast perfectly. The service was excellent and the atmosphere buzzing, just like their place in Banstead. A firm favourite and will visit often - need to work through the menu!

I popped in when place was just opening for breakfast. Food and staff were spot on. By the time I left 40 mins later the place was full. Will definitely return.

What an amazing buzzy place to go for a spot of brunch! Friendly staff, food is delicious. I opted for the Full Mediterranean without mushroom and my friend had the Full English with a latte and a pot of tea on the side. Really tasty, the poached eggs were nicely cooked! Timings were quick and efficient. Following our breakfast we both had a tropical smoothie which was lush! there is a constant flow of customers in and out the restaurant and is always busy. Can’t wait to go back.

Had naked burger with Greek Salad. The Salad was not a Greek Salad and it wasn't fresh. I complained but no consideration was made.

We were heading south on the M25 but needed a break for lunch. We had stayed in Cobham a few years ago but as we walked along, there were few places we recognised and even fewer where we fancied sitting for lunch. Fego caught our attention as it was clearly a popular and busy place. It was such a sunny day that we managed to grab the one remaining table outside and ordered two club sandwiches. Service was a little slow, but as I said, it was very busy. When the food came, the plates were enormous and it was all presented beautifully.

It took us three +1/2 weeks to find a good coffee in the United Kingdom (on our 2nd day before returning to Oz).

Visited with a friend last week and was very impressed. She had the full Mediterranean breakfast which looked lovely, I have a summer superfood salad which was so tasty but quite small. All in all there were no complaints but some of the portions could be bigger and the bill tots up quickly if you’re not careful!

Visited a couple of weeks ago for lunch, it’s was busy and understaffed, the food was ok but we had to wait around 30 min for it! People coming for take aways in a very disorderly manner, did not help with the rush. We had an avocado smoothie with lime, but there were massive traces of lime half blended in it: Awful, our server was good but far too busy to offer great service.

We went out of our way to stop for breakfast en route to Frome. Scrambled eggs like rubber, toast overdone, cold mushrooms. Son’s pancakes were good. Tea was pretty insipid. Wouldn’t go back.

My sister and I visited Fego in Cobham today for coffee and cake. It was delicious coffee and they served us some lovely vegan cake. We have had lunch here on other occasions and the food is always fresh and delicious! I highly recommend.

Popular cafe, very busy Sunday mornings or on a sunny day outside. Wide menu with a mix of healthy and comfort food. Prompt polite service. Good for a friends meet up.

Breakfast choice is fab and they take requests if there’s anything specific you want. The juices are delicious and presented so well. It does get very busy and often on a Saturday there’s a queue, but food I worth it.

Fortunately we had booked for sunday brunch because Fego was rammed. The food was stunning, The spicy scrambed eggs, the shaksuka, the breakfast burrito - all stunningly good. Great smoothies and juices too.

This was a quick brunch in a very noisy busy Friday afternoon. We were two people, placed in a tight corner proving very difficult to have a conversation and tables too close... so unable to really talk. Avocado and eggs was served on too much brown bread and rather small portion,

Shakshuka and drinks were excellent. But hugely let down by inconsistencies on the menu...ordered the salmon poké bowl without coriander due to allergies...arrived covered in chillis. Another allergy NOT specified on the menu. Response from the waitress ‘it’s a new menu and the chef’s added things.’ Very apologetic, with dish discounted from bill + goodwill. Simply inconsistencies between kitchen and staff.

Worth a 5 star review. My first visit. This is a busy place but we only waited about 10 mins. More seating outside if it's warm enough and less waiting. Decent coffee. I had the eggs benedict which was great. This is a dish with no room to hide and very easy to get wrong. It was very good.

Called into fego this morning for breakfast and managed to beat the queue. it was as busy as usual but we were seated and served very quickly. the food as always was delicious and the service fast and efficient

We had a lovely Mother’s Day brunch here. It was very packed and people queueing out the door but the staff did amazingly well. We were a table of 8 and we all got our food together. We all had different dishes and no complaints by anyone. Mine was the shakshuka in the picture. Lovely and spicy and very filling. The mums got a complimentary bucks fizz which was a nice gesture. I look forward to coming back with my family thankyou.

A quick brunch in a very noisy busy afternoon.

Met a friend here for lunch and it was very busy, which is a good sign, but we got a nice table for two. The menu was interesting and it was quite hard to choose, but I went for the fluffy pancakes with bacon off the brunch menu, which was delicious. With drinks, the bill for our meals was under £30, which represents great value.

Love this place, staff , atmosphere and food is delicious....always used to be our go to however since being diagnosed with Coeliac’s disease in jan last year we haven’t been as much.

I have a dairy allergy which makes eating out complicated - usually. Not here! From the moment I walked in I was made welcome and nothing was too much trouble from the soya latte to rejigging my delicious eggs Benedict so it was safe for me. The service was attentive but not too attentive, we were aware of them but they never made us feel rushed- even though they were very busy! My only regret? We don't live locally enough to make this a regular haunt!

I have been going to Fego regularly for the past couple of years and never fails to provide excellent food and service! It's very relaxed, staff are always lovely and very professional. Highly recommend going for brunch. The ranchero dish is amazing!

This restaurant also does a great job providing entry experience jobs to local students and do a great job training them how to provide great service. Thank you.

Really friendly staff who, no matter how busy they are, are always friendly and make sure you are seen to as quickly as possible. The food is great, as is the coffee (take away or have in). Smoothies and hot chocolates are also winners for.

Nice atmosphere and great staff. I only had a coffee and croissant but the menu looks really good and we'll definitely be back for lunch soon. It's a big cafe so plenty of space if you're dropping in. I checked out the other tables and the plates of food looked generous and yummy.
