Really authentic place food high standards

Very friendly authentic family Italian restaurant. Big smiles and delicious food with a great choice of wines. Now a regular venue for our family. Over 10 years of coming here now and still delicious, nicely redecorated too 2024.

First time that we have visited, even though we only live about 10 mins drive away. Our daughter wanted to go to an Italian restaurant for her Birthday and I found it through Trip Advisor. A real traditional Italian feel with all our favourites. Will definitely return.

Was taken here by a family member who lives near by.. they love this restaurant. I don’t live in the UK and have access to fresh seafood as I live in the coast in Spain… so unfortunately this restaurant didn’t come close to the fresh seafood I can have at home.. It’s not to say it’s not good, Its just VERY expensive and over priced for what is basically pasta 🍝 the service however was excellent 👌

Great Italian family-restaurant. There's a great variety in the menu with plenty of choices. I was particularly attracted to the veal of which they have four different choices; my selection didn't disappoint. There was a calid atmosphere, service and our visit was worth every penny. I would highly recommend Bella Luna as a proper authentic Italian food experience

I’m the loudmouth Charles referred to in his review 2 below! Sorry if he didn’t appreciate my story telling but unfair to blame the restaurant rather than ask me to turn the volume down. We have been enjoying our evenings in Bella Luna since opening. We have never had a bad meal and the service,atmosphere and ambience is exemplary. It is an authentic family run Italian restaurant and never fails to deliver a great night out.

Excessively overpriced food was ok but prices were grossly inflated £15! For a liquor coffee also every other item not priced on the menu was grossly overpriced also we had to endure a extremely loudmouth on the next table that wouldn’t shut up

Probably the best and most authentic feeling Italian restaurant I've been to. The service was impeccable and the food was out of this world.

It was not very busy, but host couldn't remember our orders when brought to table. And service charge of 12.5% was added. A reasonable choice from menu but specials board was introduced, but no prices! And we failed to ask. A Dover sole 'treat' cost us £50 plus £10 with 2 vegetables. We found the cost of all courses more than we had expected, especially the starters. Not the memorable meal we had hoped for, but a gasp at the total cost of it all

As always the food was incredible. As a gluten free customer it’s always hard to find great pasta and they never disappoint. We are always welcomed like family and the service is fantastic. It’s always busy with a great vibe so make sure you book! We will be back for more carbonara ;) The Mundays x

Best Italian Restaurant you will ever find. Food has always been cooked to perfection. I am a bit of a fussy eater but here I always find my taste. Cakes are delicious . Variety of different meals, freshly cooked. Kids enjoyed their food every single time we went there. Always first choice for a family dinner . Staff very friendly and polite. They make us feel like home. Especially Laura has always a beautiful smile on her face, very professional and prompt . Ideal Restaurant also very clean.

Not a good experience. Staff seem not to be bothered about how customers feel too keen to top up wine all the time to get you to buy more. Food unexceptional. Staff not very warm or supportive of the customer and any issues arising with poorly prepared food such a shame on the basis of this visit and bill for a problem with some of the food served would not recommend again or return . Had a far better experience at many other local restaurants who value treating customers fairly

What a disappointment!! We ordered some dishes to collect last night . The sea food spaghetti was ok . As was the king prawn tagliatelle. The lemon sauce mussels were awful and inedible and the tiramisu was the worst I have ever tasted . How it could be described as tiramisu is beyond me they would have done themselves more justice to say they had none . PLEASE don’t ever serve that again it tasted like a child had made it with spray cream

My absolute favourite...ever! It's been a year since I last went and was greeted with "The usual?" And was presented with a bottle of prosecco, which was topped up inconspicuously throughout the evening. On top of that, wanting something a little of piste the menu was no problem, and never has been. I honestly cannot recommend this place more highly, the staff, the service, the food... everything is incredible. My favourite!!! Thanks so much x

I had driven past this restaurant many tomes and always wanted to try it. As a surprise I was taken by my family for Mother’s Day and thoroughly enjoyed it and I can’t wait to return. It is run by a family and the atmosphere is cosy and welcoming with Italian music in the background. It was nice to see the chef and kitchen staff cooking the food in the kitchen and everything is cooked fresh as when my son asked for muscles they checked and said there was one portion left. I had crab ravioli to start which was lovely light and fresh followed by halibut marinara which was vibrant and flavoursome. A good variety of food and drinks in a lovely atmosphere I can’t wait to return.

We came here last minute, my partner picked a starter and a main from the specials board, I had a pizza, we had 2 soft drinks and the bill was £75!!! They also overcharged for the pizza. Top tip - check the prices on the specials board and check the bill before you pay it! That said, the food was good, but at these prices we won't hurry back.

We went for a joint birthday, and the meal was delicious. However, during correspondence when making the reservation, I asked as it was a special occasion whether they could make the table look nice. Laura offered some balloons, which I said that would be lovely. When we arrived there were indeed 2 sets of balloons and the table looked lovely. Upon receiving the bill, it transpired they had charged us £60 for the balloons!!!!! Without prior arranging a price, we were stunned. And on top of that charged £57 (15%) service charge! Which in my opinion would have covered the whole restaurant to have balloons on their tables! Lovely evening spoilt but greed.

Let me start by saying that my wife and I have spent extensive time in Sicily and we know what good Sicillian cuisine is. for us Bella Luna is authentic Sicillian fare, created by real Sicillian chefs in an open kitchen. The food on offer here is nothing short of sensational, always consistent in quality (we eat here a lot) and is authentic Sicillian fare in every respect. We love this place, the atmosphere, the team, the attention and let's not forget the wine list. Bella Luna has one of the best wine lists in the whole of Surrey by a country mile. (it's worth a visit for the wines alone). I often take friends and business associates along to Bella Luna and we ALWAYS have a great time, Brendon and the team look after us as if we're family. Always attentive, never intrusive. If you haven't been here yet then book up, and immerse yourself. This is an Italian restaurant par excellence and you will not be disappointed. Just had another fabulous evening at Bella Luna and we'll be back very soon - as we always are.

This family run restaurant has been a fixture in Oxshott for yonks and it only takes one visit to see why. Great service and wonderful authentic food!! Such a cozy restaurant with old world charm!

The staff were very respectful and sweet. Also, the food was delicious and did not take long to be served at all. The atmosphere was calming and perfect for a nice dinner and a relaxing night out. Will definitely be attending again.

Attended here for a meal - the only thing that was good about this place was the wine which the waiter kept pouring to disguise the horrible starters we had. The Calamari tasted like rubber - it was so chewy with no flavour. The crab ravioli tasted it like was out the freezer - not fresh at all. We ended up leaving after the starters as it was so bad. Wouldn't recommend at all.

Very disappointed. It was my granddaughters 18th Food very good But waiter not very interested. For an 18th birthday no birthday plate just a small insignificant Candle on her tiramasu dessert Music in background same dvd 📀played over and over. By the end of the lunch I knew the words of all songs. Very disappointed on such a special occasion Will.not recommend candle in her dessert Just a couple

I visited here for the first time with my partner last night and everything about Bella Luna is bellissimo! I ordered the king prawn fettuccini and I couldn’t fault it, it tasted amazing. The service was great, the waiters attended to our every need and were very courteous. The service was also very quick, we received our starter and main very quickly which was great considering the restaurant was near enough full. Will definitely be returning!

Despite the so called freedom day just a few days away we are very much COVID minded so we booked an outside table for 8 pm . We arrived exactly on time and stood around for a few minutes but no one received us so we sat down at the only free table for two outside. After 10 more minutes passed , a waitress approached us and asked us to move inside saying we hadn’t booked, we flatly refused to do saying we had clearly booked an outside table. A further twenty minutes went by without any further service and not even a drinks order being taken so we left . Just shocking service

I had such a lovely evening yesterday at Bella Luna. The food was delicious and our waiter Brendan really went the extra mile to make it a special evening. I'm vegetarian and often there are limited menu options at some restaurants, but the chef here was able to make my favourite pasta. Looking forward to visiting this restaurant again soon!

We have eaten at Bella Luna since the week it opened and have always given it very good reviews. Traditional Italian food done perfectly at an acceptable price with friendly charming staff. However this is a plug for their takeaway service which is limited but just as good and nothing beats a warming pasta or hearty pizza. This is certainly one independent restaurant we want to make sure survives the current crisis.

If there had been any ladies (either working or dining, in this restaurant around 1.45 pm) called Esmerelda, then they surely would have been in ‘luck’, as two colleagues and myself, walked in - myself, very much like Quasimodo, with a ruined lower back. The sheer agony. Nonetheless.....selecting this restaurant, randomly, would turn out to be a winnerStaff very nice....nice and smart venue....excellent menu, that is so very good, that one feels like ordering everything - which is a huge compliment!When I saw the starter of avocado and prawns with a Marie Rose sauce, it just had to be that!Calamari with tartare sauce looked splendid, and apparently ‘was’ and the deep fried Brie was apparently excellent.It was then that I was messaged by a chiropractor at work (a bit tardy), asking how I’d ruined my back. ‘Hmmmm,’ I pondered, ‘what could it possibly be? It was surely not from peering round a tree on Brownsea Island, at some Red Squirrels, on Tuesday afternoon!’Mains arrived, and not a moment too soon, as I was starting to get annoyed by my ‘father’ who had sent myself and another colleague for overly frenetic training on the same day!Expenses, were, now going to be fully utilised!!!! Fettuccine Aragosta - with king prawns, clams AND lobster - a triumph! Truly magnificent Italian food .I told one of my two colleagues to ‘fill his boots’, so he very willingly, opted for the superb Fillet Steak, which looked incredible.Pollo Siciliana with cheese and aubergine looked, and was excellent!Sides - sautéed potatoes, fries, broccoli and spinach - superb. We’d truly pushed the boat out, metaphorically, of course, as in my current state, I’d be lucky to push an amoeba.My thoughts on the meal - truly fantastic - both food and service - top notch. A gem!On my father? ‘Daddy was very bad.’

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. Obvious that the pasta is made to order, and even though some dishes are smaller than others, you can't leave with an empty stomach! Staff are very attentive and friendly as well.

Our first visit for lunch was so good that I thought a second was necessary to make sure of my 5* feedback. Today's visit was at least as good as the first. The welcome was warm and personal. The service was attentive, but not OTT. The wine list was as good as the menu. Even without the benefit of the £10 government discount, the meal was well worth the visit.

A lovely family restaurant with great food and service

I've ordered a takeaway because of these good reviews and unfortunately it wasn't fresh at all and not tasty, they charged £14 for Lasagne and it was rubbish. Ready Made Lasagne from waitrose is much tastier than this one with less cost. not recommending .....

Although this restaurant is only a few miles from where I live I have never been to it before. My daughter the recommended it and I went lunchtime with a friend. Unfortunately this restaurant does not do a set meal. There is a great Italian feeling as you enter this restaurant and when you look at the menu you realise they know what they are doing here. We started with the avocad Branchiopoda,Vitelli Milanese with Zuchini. We accompanied the meal with Pino Grigio and both the wine and the food was excellent. I suggested to the owner that they should have a set menu and he thought it didn't work in Oxshott. Therefore One would only go here on a special occasion whereas if they had a set meal they'll be more than just myself and my friend in the restaurant. If you want an excellent meal certainly give it a try

We ordered a delivery from this jewel in Oxshott and the food was superb. We’ve eaten in the restaurant many times and our takeaway was as perfect as always. Thank you .

Was looking forward to eating here again last night as previous visits had always resulted in a tasty meal with lovely staff and atmosphere without a hefty price tag! Sadly last night was a real disappointment with a significant price increase on the menu and a very disappointing “special” scallop starter consisting of three scallops for £15 (which was tasteless) a staggering bill of £225 for five of us!! (Only two bottles of wine no deserts!) We were the last patrons (10 o’clock) having finished our meal and enjoying chatting felt pressured to leave as all the staff were assembled round the bar area with their coats on! It wasn’t even that late!! Will not be returning.

We took the advice of today’s special. Nothing particular. Seafood was not cooked properly. It tasted like a packaged ready made food from a super market. It was 30 pounds for this single dish. I asked for a recommendation of red wine and she insisted on a bottle of white wine. The dinner was for two of us and our son joined later. The bill turned out to be 250 pounds. This restaurant is for quick pasta with beer, not for proper meal at reasonable price.

Really enjoyed our first visit to Bella Luna - it won’t be our last. It is a small place but with a friendly atmosphere. It has a traditional Italian menu but the food is delicious. It is quite pricey but I don’t mind paying for good quality. The service was attentive but not over the top. We will come again.

It was an 18th birthday party - family. This is a lovely ‘proper’ Italian serving decent food in a smallish room, but with lots of locals. Buzzy atmosphere. Swift service. The open kitchen is fun to watch - seeing your plate created right there. Super evening.

I am a regular customer to Bella Luna and have been for many years now. Always amazing service and food, I personally have been to many many italian restaurants, even in Italy and Bella Luna ranks up there as the best. I ordered lobster tail special it was tough tasteless and a waste of money... if you come into Oxshott go to the Vic...or ..The Bear much better value. Jamie Rednapp needs to promote a better resturant Bella Luna is a rip off.

We have eaten at Bella Luna many times. We love Italian food and Bella Luna is just a few minutes walk away. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. Food is consistently good and service is always prompt and helpful. The wine list is good and prices are reasonable. What is there not to like - apart from the occasionally loud and antisocial groupings that spill out of the pub and insist on talking at high volume. We will continue to eat here in preference to anywhere else in the area .

I visit Bella Luna regularly with my family and we always leave more than satisfied. From the moment we enter we are always greeted by the friendliest staff who create a warm atmosphere throughout the night. The food is always amazing and the Chefs are more than happy to cater to our individual needs.

We had dinner here on Saturday night , the food is nothing special, the portions are small and the meals were so overpriced it was ridiculous, the staff are poorly trained and one of the waiters was sat at a table eating .

Visited early Saturday evening with 6 adults and a 2 and 14 old, only had 1 bottle of wine for the table and a few bottles of sparkling and still water.

My family and I love Bella luna restaurant. Excellent food and service. Staff are very polite and attentive, very good selection of fine wine and brandy too. A lovely relaxing atmosphere. Thank you Laura and staff for always looking after us and making sure we have an enjoyable time every time.

My husband and I visited on a Monday night and therefore it was not too busy, but the service was attentive and personal. A great bottle of wine and not the usual fare which was fab. The food is traditional Italian well cooked and presented.

Echoing a couple of the other reviews. Very overpriced for the meal we had. We totalled up the cost and £8 or £9 was added for something. Possibly they charged for milk with coffee or the olives at the start which we did not order. We eat out a lot as we travel for work and felt a bit cheated.

Our family absolutely love Bella Luna. The owners and staff are always friendly and welcoming and the food and service are consistently excellent. The menu is a large range of traditional Italian dishes (no pizza on offer but you won’t miss it). We’ve been there for lots of special occasions - birthdays, Mother’s/Father’s Day as well as just nipping in for a Friday night treat.

A party of 8 of us went to the Bella Luna for the first time on Saturday night and we will certainly be returning! The food was authentic and delicious, the staff were friendly and efficient, the restaurant itself was cosy and spotlessly clean! I think all 8 of us had something different and nobody was disappointed. A family run business which is a real gem. Thank you Bella Luna.

Amazing food, fantastic service. 100% would recommend!

I do not know what took us so long to try this restaurant and when we did we were not disappointed at all. Lovely people running it with great food and service, We had some lovely dishes including starters of Bresaola and Calamari. Our mains included a very tasty veal in a sauce and a quite delicious dish of crab ravioli.

We go to this amazing place for all our birthdays with the kids. They love it and the staff are just wonderful. We have two coeliac boys and the staff are amazing at dealing with it. The gluten free pasta is so good that we did not quite believe it was gluten free the first time we went. They even make us gluten free Lasagne, chicken Milanese and tiramisu ( when we pre-order it). Thank you!!! We cannot recommend this lovely local restaurant more.

Wonderful service; incredibly friendly staff and excellent food, all very reasonably priced. The evening with the singer was understandably a sell out and is absolutely not to be missed - just so much fun!

Such a rip off , i ordered collection and I asked for 2 serloin steakes and some vegetables the steak was coming on its own so i had to pay separately for the vegs and a pot of spinach so unusual when you charge £22 for a steak , I walked in to collect the food the waiter asked me if I would like some drinks and I said just a bit of tab water , he came on the table with a bottle which I thought thats part of the service, but at the end I received a bill for £75 , they charged me even for the water , i had to ask for refund and they did refound the water which was £3.40 for a small bottle, the portion of vegs was too small and tasteless, the steak was average, too pricy and please keep an eye on your bills!!!!!

We visited this restaurant as part of an anniversary party. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent. No complaints at all. There was a lovely atmosphere. We had entertainment which was fabulous. Would definitely recommend.
