The best restaurants serving Chinese food in England

Totally authentic, right down to the hygiene issues. But it's properly spicy, well flavoured, and a favourite with the local Asian population. Avoid the dishes for non Asians, like the sweet and sour muck.

Probably the best Chinese Tackaway around at the moment, ordered HOT chicken curry and rice , lovely kick and flavours spot on !

i wouldn’t recommend. while the food wasn’t bad, the waiter, upon being told that i was a vegetarian and would want a separate plate to the rest of my party, went on a ten minute tangent about how i don’t ‘fit the profile’ of a vegetarian. this is because ‘vegetarians are usually slim, and you are not’. he then went on to reiterate this a few more times in different ways, laughing despite the rest of our table was silent. as somebody who has suffered with multiple mental illnesses, including bulimia and body dysmorphia, this really made the rest of the meal very difficult to enjoy. i know i cannot expect the waiter to know my medical history, but that is the exact reason you do not say things like this. my father in law’s birthday meal, which he paid a lot of money for, was then clouded with an air of awkwardness that continued throughout the entirety of the meal.

Just had a takeaway from Chiwa Sakura in Stanley and honestly, it was terrible. The special chow mein was bone dry with a few tiny bits of chopped-up meat that tasted like it had been sitting around all day. The chips were no better—old, likely refried, and completely lacking in flavour. The whole meal felt like an afterthought. Really disappointing, especially when you’re trying to treat yourself. Won’t be ordering again.

Have been to Happy Star a few times now and have always had excellent service and food. They are fast and great value , staff are always happy and polite. Can't recommend enough.

Great takeaway. The food is brilliant and the staff are very friendly. I normally get sweet and sour pork or crispy duck but there is a vast array of different dishes on the menu to choose from. I also don’t live that far away from it so it’s always piping hot when I get it home.

Honestly could not recommend this place enough. The staff and delivery driver were very polite, service was perfectly on time and the food was delicious. All of it was still warm when it arrived and the portion sizes were perfect! The salt and pepper munch box was also to die for the ribs were so tender

I usually come here every once in a while but they do really good food there and they're usually done in a reasonable time frame

Golden Star Chinese Takeaway, Rastrick, Brighouse Don’t let the modest exterior fool you—Golden Star is a hidden gem! I recently tried their salt and pepper chicken with rice and barbecue spare ribs, and I was thoroughly impressed. The flavors were spot on, with the perfect balance of seasoning and freshness. The salt and pepper chicken was crispy yet tender, and the barbecue spare ribs were deliciously succulent. For me, this is the best Chinese takeaway in Brighouse. The quality of the food speaks for itself, making it a fantastic choice for anyone craving authentic and flavorful Chinese dishes. Highly recommend!

Had the Yeung Chow fried rice. Authentic aroma & taste, and good portion size. Favourably compares to experiences in Singapore years ago. Well done!

Nos encanta este lugar como una familia. Para nosotros, sus salsas Sweet & Sour y Curry son las mejores. A nuestros hijos les encanta el pollo en el Sweet & Sour Chicken ya que es un rebozado ligero y más como bocados de pollo. Las galletas de langostinos siempre están ahí. Sería increíble si hubiera un puñado de fichas extra en sus porciones. Nuestros otros platos habituales son pollo Chow Mein, pollo chile crujiente, curry de ternera y pollo Szechuan. Solo hemos tenido una experiencia no tan buena en unas 30 visitas.

Just had a takeaway from New Rays, great food with very good depth of flavour, nice clean meal, not oily at all as some takeaway's can be. Chicken with green peppers and black bean sauce was excellent, as was the sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style, very good clean egg fried rice with peas to accompany. Highly recommend to others and look forward to my next visit.
