Chicken katsu with honey chilli sauce 10/10

Used this takeaway for 8 years, always tipped drivers and been a regular customer. The food I received today tasted like burnt sugar and was completely inedible. I called the restaurant expecting an exchange or refund and they were completely unwilling. Such a shame they feel this is an adequate resolution to such a good customer. Won’t use again.

A boy delivered the food on an electric bike. He surprised me. The food was great, especially the teriyaki which was nice and tasty. I will come again.

Well I have to say after eating here on many occasions, this evening my wife and I were so looking forward to our meal, and the when we got home and dished it out we both thought we had gone to a different takeaway. I'm not sure if they have new owners or not but the food was nothing like we've ever had, it was very bland and everything was a third of the size from previous visits. The chicken balls were tiny, the special fried rice was like an uncle Ben's rice and there was about 8 prawn crackers in a bag. Massively disappointed and most definitely will not go there again.

Looking at other reviews I wasn't sure about going here but the food was very good, no complaints at all...

We have been using Chiwa Sakura for a while now. We order once a week for delivery. The food is always excellent, very tasty and hot (temperature). We have tried numerous dishes and all have been delicious

The Best asian food in Wakefield

Very poor experience at this Chinese got my order wrong and the young lad behind the counter gave me nothing but attitude even though I had to drive back from home to correct the order. No apology won't be going back

Omlette didn't have enough filling for a special.

I ordered last Weekend and received very bad tasting food, I am half Chinese so I know what a good Chinese tastes, not one thing about it is authentic, it tasted like microwaved foods, I am not impressed one bit and will never order from here again, I am being generous with the one star if I could put lower I would.

OK...I was very happy with my first order. Delivered on time, hot, tasty etc. Quite good. So 3 weeks later (5 mins ago) I tried to order tge exact same meal. Ten minutes later, with attitude dripping off my phone from the young person taking my order, it was VERY close to saying forget it. Good job the food eas good first time. I will make a point of going into the place tomorrow. I'm utterly appalled by the individual whobdealt with this. A shop is only as good as the staff. Well, I hope not. I'm quite certain given the opportunity he'll be spitting in my meal. What happened to being proud of whatever work you do? God help us if this is the state of our society and who we will rely on to earn enough to pay for our retirement! The food was good first time (fingers crossed for my delivery) but I'll definitely never pay to put up with his attitude again. Go elsewhere!!

Confusing menu. They have a make your own box deal, the portion was very small ( luckily I wasn’t that hungry) . They only take cash!! But you can scan a QR code if you haven’t got enough cash and want to pay by card. However there’s a charge for ordering that way , even though your at the premises. There are better takeaways close by. I won’t be ordering food from there again.

What a complicated menu. Then I tried to order and was told Cash Only ! Mmmm they have high speed fibre to the premises but no way to pay by card? I could pay using a QR code on their menu, and get charged extra, even though I’m stood in the shop! Got a make your own box, food was ok but the portion was very small. There are plenty of takeaways a few minutes drive away that I will order from rather than here.

Amazing food my favourite Chinese had an issue with the food and they offered to remake the whole order and it was beautiful Iv ordered here since it reopened 🥰 amazing staff too

Ordered from here last night and all my family have been up all night throwing up and constant stomach cramps. Called to order and all I could hear was shouting and pans banging about so made it really hard to order. Won’t return stay away

Ordered here a few times and the food has always been spot on, slight hiccup with the order tonight but they rectified it and re delivered it quickly!

Amazing food, cooked fresh and tasting great. Extensive menu with something for everyone. Not as cheap as your usual Chinese take away, (however not overpriced) but that’s for a reason… It isn’t your usual take away! You get what you pay for and it’s worth every penny. Definitely recommend you give Chiwa Sakura a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Ordered chicken yakisoba and gyoza tonight, absolutely amazing and service was great

I went to collect some food last night and when I arrived they was shouting and screaming in the back of the takeaway which I thought was unprofessional, I ended up trying there salt and pepper tofu as they said it was vegan which after tasting It I didn’t think it tasted right. I found out today that they cook everything In the same oil which I nearly threw up after been a vegan for almost 10 years so I can’t imagine what else they lie about. Stay well away if you can.

Outrages food. Very dry re used chicken by, the looks, undercooked chips. Delivery was 1 hour and 30 minuets late. They refused to give us a refund and was out right rude. Avoid At all, costs they have no staff because they are that dis respectful. They have one delivery driver and one chef that clearly doesn't have a clue how to cook fresh food as it tastes and looked like it has been. Re cooked 5.Times. Do not recommend this place at all. Ps I bet food standard agency would love to go down there.. Stay. CLEAR

Ordered at 4.30 delivered before 5.00 mixed starters and chicken OK fried rice in make your own box really enjoyed food and plenty of it. Great value.

Usually order from here when we can't agree on a place to get food. Prices are really really reasonable for the quality of food. Portions are always generous but never over-filling. Always order from Chiwa Sakura when we have friends over and they all rave about it too!

Just had a chicken teriyaki and boiled rice. It was amazing!!!! It came with loads of both chicken and rice and also some very nicely cooked broccoli. I lived next to this place for ten years and never tried. It’s the best takeaway food I’ve had in ages!!!

Food was nice bit expensive for what you got but like I said the food was nice and hot.

Had chow mein special and salt and pepper chips, meal for 1 but 2 of us had it, it was just the right amount and absolutely delicious, would definitely recommend 😋.

We had heard a lot about this take away but are just out of the delivery radius for them, so after a long day, decided to finally experience the food as we were driving past to get home. The service was spot on it was raining hard and the food was brought to the car and the timing was swift. The food was outstanding, the chicken buns were outstanding some of the best we’ve had and one of my favourites. The chicken gyoza were so fresh and so moist and beautifully seasoned and all presented as you would get in a restaurant. Now to the mains …. Wow…….beautifully presented chicken Yakatori and Japanese special fried rice. Often you get a bit of chicken, a bit of beef, pork and if you are lucky a couple of prawns….not here there was so much and again beautifully seasoned and so fresh. Hubby had the Yakatori and said it was amazing. The menu is extensive and covers so many different Asian cuisines and we will ensure we make this a regular stop off for our monthly take away treat as the price and the quality of the food is outstanding. Thank you !!!

Perfect service and tasting food, this lady has real pride in her food. We normally get the salt and pepper happy box, but we have had different stuff, all tasting great and very good value for money normally if we order it, we receive it before expected time Thanks

The BEST Chinese we eat from here around twice a week, I am a regular to the happy box and they comfort to what we like in it, for example we swap the wings for the chicken balls. But can not beat the taste, we have tried other dishes and we can not get enough of the place. Very friendly and welcoming. Outstanding pricing and quick service and delivery

If you want fast delicious food please avoid this takeaway. The staff are extremely rude, the food is ridiculously salty (if it ever turns up) and the delivery times are usually 2 hours +

We got food delivered from Chiwa Sakura a few weeks ago, as we received a leaflet through the post. Excellent food. Fusion Asian. We ordered a Korean rice and a Japanese dish amongst others. Clean packaging. Timely delivery. Tasty food. Will definitely try this again next time.

Absolutely gorgeous food! They very kindly adapted their chicken katsu curry to a pumpkin katsu curry (as a vegetarian) and it was absolutely amazing. The food is very good quality and seems very fresh. Portions are also very generous! Hopefully they will bring their sushi back as that was phenomenal too. Definitely will be ordering again soon!

Orderd large happy box choice bbq sauce paid for delivery said it would be 30 to 45 minutes was over a hour before it was delivered got sweet chilli sauce instead of bbq sauce chips was hard everything was cold only edible thing was ribs £19 wasted

Genuinely really nice food. Not too heavy and didn't leave me feeling sluggish as some takeaways do. The salt and pepper dishes were a tad too salty for my liking but other than that, it was a great selection of food. Definitely will be returning!

Absolutely amazing food! We trued the Katsu curry, chicken gyoza and honey and chill chicken. So impressed with the portion sizes, presentation, packaging and obviously taste (it was amazing). Definitely going to be a regular here!

Oh my…. What a delicious meal served WOW!! We ordered from here last night, the food was 10/10 we spent a fair bit but ordered literally everything. Sushi was brill we had a salt and pepper muchie box amazing! We went for the chilli garlic ribs delicious. We also opted for the all in one box’s it was all excellent! We will definitely be ordering again. The food was packed in high quality containers and kept the food hot. The customer service was next level. Definitely worth a try. You will not be disappointed

Not impressed, a below average Chinese.

Cannot describe how amazing the food is here! We ordered for the first time and spent close to £80 because there was so much choice we just couldn't decide on a couple of things. We had everything from sushi to yakisoba and a build your own box. We were really optimistic because we've been places before with a good variety but the food lacks quality and quantity. However, this takeaway isn't serving the usual greasy low quality food. Everything from the packaging down to the service was great. The food came hot and was super tasty and the sheer quality was outstanding! Prawns were huge, the bao buns and char siu buns were so soft and not soggy. Even the fried broccoli was so tasty and not overdone. I cannot believe this little gem is in Wakefield. You really can't get food like this unless your travelling into bigger cities. I cannot rate this place enough and considering it has just opened they're off to a great start. Will definitely be ordering from here again and recommend it highly to anyone wanting to try a good variety of Asian cuisine!

Not a fantastic start. Ordered by phone and went to collect at the allotted time and kept waiting for quarter of an hour. Arrived home to find half of it missing. Tried telephoning them and they hung up- Twice!

I wish I was able to leave a review of the food I had eaten, however, I am unable to do this as the food never arrived. Ordered at 6pm on their website and given a 1 hour delivery time. After 1 1/2 hours I rang the take away to be told that deliveries were running 15 minutes late because the delivery vehicle had broken down and another vehicle was going to collect our food and bring it to us. I pointed out it was already 30 mins late. We waited and after 30 mins I called back and again spoke to the man taking telephone orders. He was apologetic and assured us the food was on its way. By 9pm I made a sandwich and gave up on the take away which doesn’t deliver food or service.

Ordered for the first time this week. Food was great and fresh. Red Dragon Rolls were amazing and well presented. Tataki beef was tasty with sauce to die for. Will be ordering again tonight...
