Sauces was extra thin.. no thickness and tasteless, curry and sweet and sour sauces

Nice food, sauces seem a bit thin but guess that's authentic I'm just used to thicker sauces Spare ribs are lovely would definitely recommend those

Not the best,got special curry with chips,lots of meat but mostly chicken, no prawns and the sauce was very bland more like gravy than curry,I can only assume there other options are a lot better going of the reviews . Ps chips not that great either.

Lovely Chinese, one of the best I’ve had in a while. The OK Chicken was perfect. The only reason I’ve not given it 5 stars is the chips, they were absolutely disgusting, like literal cardboard so that would probably put me off coming back again.

Best Chinese around! We order here regularly and it's fantastic! There are a few Chinese takeaways around Crigglestone/Durkar and this is the best! I've never had a bad meal here snd we've been coming consistently for almost 3 years.

Our all time favourite takeaway for Chinese food. There are only a couple in our local area but this is by far the best tasting and best value for money. Highly recommend. Lovely people and always a hit!

First time here, will be the last ribs in ok sauce tasted like they had vinegar in them and chicken chow mein, could have done super noodles would have had flavour white chicken pieces about 10, broccoli 4 pieces. Very disappointed. £17.00 I could have saved.

LEE COTTAGE HIGHT STREET CRIGGLESTONE WAKEFIELD DO NOT RECOMEMD . The food was absolutely discusting and only tasted a bit as I had to throw it away in the bin I dare not even try the meat it all looked days old and shriveled very dry looking beef chow main. and chicken curry was orange like it had food colouring added to it . 1 folk full from each meal, and now it's in my bin ready for the tip. I will never in my life eat from this place again. I'm very discusted . Oh, and the prawn toast didn't even taste like prawn toast again went in the bin. DO NOT RECOMMEND

What has happened to this place not had Chinese for a while but this is the takeaway we use. Hardly any chicken, noodles where like straw, sweet and sour sauce was like pink water so watered down. Hot and sour soup mostly veg used to have plenty of prawns other meats etc and all this with a price increase from our old menu. Normally you have to wait 45 minutes plus for phone orders but ours was ready in 20 minutes on Saturday night. Also shop wasn’t it’s normal busy self which I found odd but now know why.

After seeing good reviews thought I would try. Should not have bothered. By far the worst Chicken Fried Rice I have had. Both me and the wife binned it. You simply cannot microwave old food and sell and freshly cooked. Will not be using again.

I am really not a fussy person when it comes to food but i honestly could have made something bettet myself. All i could taste was the overpowering flavour of garlic. The chicken chowmein was basically noodles with brocoli. Also, i'm sure non of the food had even seen a wok; it looked and tasted like it had been boiled. Sorry but this was my first and last time i will use Lee Cottage, Cottingley.

Good quality local Chinese takeaway. Friendly service on the phone, good selection on the menu. The Singapore noodles were really good and the ribs tender and juicy. The beef in ok sauce was ok. Fried rice could be improved if I’m honest but all in all pleased with the meal. They also threw in a bag of chips that I wasn’t expecting. Was ready to collect in 30 mins on a Saturday night. Recommend this place 👍

I phoned in at 7.12 and was told 40-45 minutes ,I left at 8.25,no apology,nothing,then the meal itself was nothing to shout àboutthe but thing was the prawn toast,really good but the rest nothing special,certainly not worth going out of your way to visit.

Always friendly. Have to wait a bit for the food but it's worth it.

I have visited this Chinese on average once a month for the past 4 years. The food is always hot and delicious and Jade provides an excellent customer service on the counter and phone. I am vegetarian so I tend to stick to a couple of options for myself but I always enjoy them, Great value as portions are generous and I struggle to eat whole meal often.

Lived in the area 20+ years and only visited this place a couple of times, i now remember why. With our usual place closed for a refurb ("You don't know what you've lost till its gone") we thought we'd give Lee Cottage another go, i mean, how bad can it be? The answer is very very bad. I mean who makes the sauces/gravies in this place? My grey tasteless sad looking Beef in Black Bean "Sauce" floating in the thinnest blandest watery mess, no taste no consistency, quickly soaked and disappeared into the rice. My partners Sweet and Sour was nothing more than orange-coloured water. Absolutely terrible on both counts. I wanted something tasty but not particularly Spicy, would have been better off saving £17 and just eating dry bread. BUT also within 2 hours i had a shocking upset stomach complete with cramps and all that goes with it (diplomatic description). Truly terrible. Never ever again.

Hello, We decided to order from Lee Cottage Chinese in the last week to try somewhere new, however we we’re left feeling nothing but regret and disappointment after receiving what we thought was salt and peppercorn chips, the name is misleading as we discovered the chips were not salt and pepper at all, they were infact… CURRY. Now to get started on the ‘salt and pepper’ chicken which also unfortunately had the same covering on them. The prawn toast was immaculate, however you ‘cod’ get better from elsewhere. Solely based on the chips and chicken we have both decided to rate this establishment a mere 2/5. The overall food was not bad at all however the ‘salt and pepper’ were misleading and not at all what expected. Over n out.

It was a simple order... Spring rolls and Szechuan Special What was good: The spring rolls were crisp and tasty, without a drop of grease. ✅ The Szechuan Special mixed sourness and spice beautifully, the mixture of meats/prawns perfectly cooked. ✅ The service was polite and helpful. ✅ The only disappointment is why haven't I found this place sooner!?!

Fantastic. We had a set menu for 2 that easily stretched to 3 people. Very nice indeed, very polite service and a definite regular from now on.

Jade and the staff at Lee cottage are lovely. The service is excellent and food very tasty. I would recommend the crispy chilli beef and salt and pepper chips. Never disappointed. Every time we've had to go elsewhere we've always been let down. I'd never use another Chinese takeaway. Lee cottage is the best.

Best Chinese around, a little surprised to read the couple of negative reviews, we’ve been going for years and never ever had a bad meal. I guess everyone has different taste but we’ve always had great and attentive service and delicious red hot, tasty food every single time. Highly recommend.

Ordered Szechuan special and salt & pepper chicken wings tonight.....OUTSTANDING, loved every bit of it 5 stars.

We both love a Chinese and this was by far the best one we had, quick service, staff are lovely and food was perfect was nothing left by the end of our meal, will definitely be coming back again soon.

Moved back into the area 4 years ago and love this place! Consistently excellent and our go to place for a takeaway treat. Especially love the salt and pepper chicken with plum sauce (not on the menu but happy to accommodate). As a side option the bbq sauce is out of this world :)

Ordered from Lee Cottage for the first time, following recommendations on social media. We had 5 different dishes. The food was piping hot but unfortunately lacked flavour or even the right ingredients. Chicken chow mein was just booked noodles with veg and (cheap) chicken on top - No sauce or flavour. The salt and pepper chicken/chips were terrible- none of the flavours you would actually expect, just covered in curry powder!!! Only 1 of the 5 dishes were worth having/tasted correct so will not be returning.

Ordered for 7.30....at 6.45.......and had to wait until 7.50......when I got home with the meal items that we had ordered were missing !!!! Not up to the usual level today ☹

We thought we would give Lee cottage a go for tea and we were glad we did! The food we ordered was worth collecting as it was hot, tasty and fresh. The authentic taste was not as salty as some places are and this made it more tasty.

Used to get takeaway every week but it's gone downhill in the last 6 months.

Placed an order 18.15 told 1/2 hr went in at 18.50 approx 6 people waiting woman serving repeatedly ignored me.an old woman came in and ordered over the counter 10mins later she was away with it? Eventually at 19.10 55 mins later I got my order this was the first time I was spoken to and was told all orders are in a que as they come in over phone etc nope place was real busy phone rang constantly a customer asked for a vat receipt and was told they are not vat registered so assume this co.does not pay any tax ? Anyway ate my meal and honestly the chips were awful the meal was not nice and the whole order cost me 19 quid.yuk I will go elsewhere and inform trading standards as to whether this co.pays it s dues I very much doubt it

Got back from holiday and needed a quick meal. This is the closest takeaway to home and the meals were really good, only had to wait 15 minutes to go and pick it up. The food was very tasty and piping hot and not overpriced.

Save your money and don't go here, worst Chinese I've ever had. Try fullers round the corner or anything else on justeat.

Never had a bad meal yet. Chinese is my favourite meal so have been to a few. Not the best i've ever been to but would definately recommend to family and friends.

Hemos ido a casa y Lee a Crigglestone está a tiro de piedra de nuestra nueva casa, así que hemos probado por primera vez esta noche. Qué fantástica para llevar chino, la calidad de la carne en los platos fueron mucho mejor de lo que hemos tenido antes. Cuando nos instalamos en la última casa tardó cuatro intentos antes de que encontramos una buena comida para llevar china! Lo recomiendo encarecidamente, señora encantadora en la recepción frente demasiado y muy limpia de compras y se puede ver en la cocina que en muchos otros no (que es preocupante! ) Ciertamente merece la pena probarlo! !

Algunas comidas puede que no sea tan picante/caliente como de otros y si te gusta caliente, no tengáis miedo de como para su plato a ser pepped hasta un poco porque te obligan!
