Ordered food 5th June 2024 absolutely disgusting no love or thought put into the food tasteless much and pre cooked was told was new owners sadly same and at the same low standards cooked within 10 minutes tell you something will never return and don't recommend to anyone.

Rude- placed a big order over the phone collected drove back home to find out items missed off order when calling lady said we never ordered from them and they don't do chicken balls or crispy chilli beef continued to be rude on the phone saying we never had food from them when we just spent over £70 and collected our order avoid this place!!!

14 times I've ordered food and collected from here in the last 12 months and every time it's been faultless! Singapore Rice...... Various chow meins..... Spring rolls...... Pork and chicken balls..... Noodles........ Curries and many other items I've really enjoyed and will always go back! It's a cash only location and that is a little frustrating, but not a real issue as there's a free atm at Tesco!

Only had a small amount of food but was personally recommended it by a relative and it lived up to his expectations and now mine

Absolutely garbage, everything tasted like reheats from yesterday, salt and chilli chicken was hard and not fresh. Prawn toast was the same as was the spring rolls, wouldn't recommend or return

Always get our Chinese takeaway from here. The food is great, you can see them cooking everything freshly and portion sizes are really good

I called happy star Chinese for my daughters 23rd birthday and ordered food I wanted a vegetarian Singapore fried rice as I am vegetarian and they did this for me I was so happy Singapore fried rice is my favourite kind of rice it was amazing when they did this I was so grateful and as I said very happy . It was deliciously tasty and had the same great taste . Thank you happy star for doing such a great job amazing and credit to you for doing this meal for me and i hope this can be put on the menu in the future . Will definitely be going back to happy star xxxxx Love your food great quality excellent flavours very hot on arrival quick service polite friendly and professional xxxx

They tried selling me a plate called “special fried child” and I declined as I thought it was a child!!!😂😂😂😂 silly me it was just a pigeon Apart from that the meal was great xxxxx

This weird star was forcing me to be in his object show, I kindly declined, but he wasnt happy about that.

We used to use Happy Star regularly up until a few years ago when we had a bad meal. We returned yesterday simply because our new ‘regular’ take away was closed. We are so glad we did because it was delicious! We spent £48, so a lot of food, and cannot fault any of it. The crispy shredded beef was the best we’ve had! Nothing was greasy and it was all piping hot, even after a 15 minute drive home. Will definitely be returning!

Really helpful when placing a large order especially with my request to prepare, cook and pack one meal separately. They were happy and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Everything was cooked fresh , huge portions and really tasty. Well done Happy Star, you served us well, thank you 😊

The food has changed and is utterly delicious, definitely a favourite. The crispy chilli beef is always super crispy and the rest of the food cooked perfectly and delicious

After spending £22.00 we ended up throwing the food away. prawn and chicken ball batter was so thick and greasy. The special fried rice was quite flavourless . We just ate the fuu yung.

All I can say is awful!! Spring roll was swimming in fat just throw it straight in the bin, chicken was so rubberised same with the beef. Completely shocked at the whole meal. Ordered before and have noticed how the quality has dwindled, never again.

Decided on a take away with the hubby on a Friday night. Ordered over the phone and collected 15 minutes later. Took cash. Food was amazing!!! Huge portions and fantastic quality. Will definitely be ordering from here again.

at one time we would not have purchased from here however in the last 2 years we have heard good reviews so decided to give it a try....pleasantly surprised spare ribs are lovely and the lemon chicken is delicious and as i said we have used it frequently

Had 2 meals from this restaurant while on holiday and not only was the food fantastic but the size of the portions was REAL VALUE FOR MONEY. Will be using them again.

Stopped off after work to get a curry and chicken balls, what a mistake, nearly £13_down the toilet well on the front lawn to be exact as the alleged food was thrown out for the local fox to risk trying. Rice was bland as, chicken balls tough as leather and could not be chewed despite trying for hours. Easily worst meal I have had from a Chinese and certainly will not be returning, unless for some perverse reason I want to punish myself by ordering inedible food. Sadly if you don't have transport and don't want to order over the amount needed for free delivery from superior restaurants crappy star has you by the sweet and sours being the only Chinese in hawkinge.

Excellent Chinese takeaway food. Great menu with large portions and great authentic flavours. Recommended.

Having not been able to get a meal at the Blackhorse went here for a takeaway,really good tasty and well cooked will go there again .

Always friendly when taking my order on the phone and efficient in getting the order ready to collect in 10 minutes. Food is tasty and have never had a problem. Happy to recommend the Happy Star.

Good standard of Chinese but no delivery and cash only be prepared ! There is a cash point near by at the Tesco express. Team are friendly, food is always consistent.

Worth noting, they do not deliver and they do not take card. That said the food was lovely, we had a big mix of things, the crispy fried chili beef was actually crispy! The roast chicken, standard special fried rice, BBQ ribs and duck with pickle were particularly good! Will happily order again.

Food is nice and staff are friendly. I’m not keen on the curry sauce as it’s a bit bland but everything else is good. My favourite thing is pancake roll, they are always nice and crispy.

We had enjoyed a very nice well cooked Chinese meal. We all had different dishes and felt we had value for money,and authentic dishes. We have had a few takeaways from hear over a few years and feel it deserves better reviews than its getting. We don't live local but it's our favourite choice when in the area.

Average Chinese, has defiantly gone down hill. One thing that annoys me the most is you order - they tell you 10 mins - you turn up and they haven’t even started cooking it ! This happens EVERY single time ! Please sort your timing out

Food is cold, dry, no flavour, unappetising. Waste of money. Very disappointed with the food, will not be ordering from this place again :(

We were staying on a campsite near by so ordered a takeaway customer service was pretty good and the food was cooked fresh and quickly. Got it back and it was hot but the flavour was pretty bland, we ate maybe half and binned the rest. Personally I would not recommend.

This is a takeaway only restaurant. We ordered a selection of dishes, all were very tasty and reasonably priced. We will be back.

Most awful selection of food ever tried. Went in the bin.... Do not waste your time or money.

This food is awful. Chicken was hard and chewy. Chicken balls had two layers of batter so they must of been from the night before. Curry is watery and the sweet and sour sauce was like water with food colouring. Waste of money, it's all gone in he bin. Avoid like the plaque

Have regular takeaways from here, always delicious, freshly cooked and the kitchen is open to the waiting area and it all looks very clean. Staff friendly and efficient. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

4 adults had a selection of dishes of which we all enjoyed. Would order from there again.
