Kings Garden in Wickford is a hidden gem! I recently ordered from them and was blown away by the quality and flavor of their food. The delivery was fast and the food arrived hot and fresh. The portions were generous, and the dishes were packed with authentic Chinese flavors. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the prices were very reasonable. Anyone who has had a bad meal here has really bad luck. Never had a problem. Portion sizes are always amazing and never had a problem with quality before. Prawn crackers aren't always very nice, but for something that's free and can be chucked away, I can't moan about it. Price for what you get is second to none.

Ordered here two weeks ago and food was really not great. Such a shame as owner is really nice but the food was really bad

I don’t know how this got 4.4 stars but we ordered a set menu for 2 and it was terrible. Dripping in grease which made inedible and none of it had any flavour. So tired of these takeaways serving up this rubbish with no consequence. Please don’t waste your money here and if you can recommend a decent Chinese takeaway then please let me know.

Have had a takeaway from here once previously and it was amazing (a few years back) but had one recently and it was horrendous. Chicken was mushy and jelly like consistency, the dishes lacked any flavour other than oil. Real disappointment

I've just finished the takeaway we had from here, well we throw half of it away as it was the worst Chinese I think we've ever had.

Worst takeaway Chinese I've had, lemon chicken was stringy, wet & chewy, I even put it in the oven to cook longer but it still tasted horrible & had to throw away. Chow mein had no taste, was burnt & oily, crispy shredded beef had no flavour at all either. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Sorry to say food was absolutely dreadful, chicken was like jelly. Chicken balls had no taste and dripping in oil, even the prawn cracks was tasteless. Never will be returning after that visit. RANK

Just moved into the area and tried this absolute brilliant place, price, quality and quantity is absolutely spot on, couldn't fault it and such great customer service, loved it

The Best Chinese in Wickford, we tried here after the other most popular Chinese was shut and how we wish we found the Kings Garden Sooner! Great Portion sizes, free delivery and £10 cheaper than our usual place! Only downside is that they only accept cash. try it you won’t be disappointed

Loved Jasmine Gardens, is was our favourite,but stopped. Tried quite a few from Burgess Hill and locally, always disappointed. This evening we went for Kings Garden and really couldn't fault it. Excellent thank you

Satay chicken tasted of salt and nothing else. Chow mein had no flavor at all, was just soft flavourless mush. Sweet and sour chicken balls were soaking in oil and that's all you can taste. These are the most basic of dishes and they were bloody awful! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

First time visit to this Chinese in Shotgate and was pleasantly surprised. Portion size was better than most others in Wickford and quality of meat in the curry was good. Sauce was enough to cover the rice fully which is something that I don't always find with other Chinese. Staff friendly too, competitive pricing, and quick service. Only downside was that if being picky the taste of the siauce wasn't quite my 'type' of curry, it was more bland than distinctive and i do liker a strong sauce - New World in Wickford has a better sauce, but overall I really liked KIng's Garden and would return.

This was my first visit to this take away in Wickford and sadly it will be the last, we had the set meal for 2 at £13.50, but nothing that was included was enjoyable, the chicken balls very covered in very thick batter, the beef and mushrooms was not pleasant and after one mouthful we left the rest the pork and beansprouts was tasteless, and as for the pancake rolls, well were horrible.

The staff always recognise familiar faces and always takes time out to say hello. Fast delivery and in my opinion, the best chicken chow mein in wickford

Smashes it on every level. Always hot fresh and tasty no matter what you order. The chicken curry is one of the best I've had and they don't mess about with the chicken pieces either. Big pieces of breast meat. Really good price as well. Chow mein never greasy, chicken balls lovely, duck nice, spring rolls really tasty. Keep up the good work!!

I find it is usually good service here for a takeaway and the food is always pretty good here I would recommend

Best Chinese takeaway in Wickford by a long way. Been in Wickford for nearly 3 years and tried all of them hoping to find somewhere as good as the ones back in the Midlands. Some how missed this one and it's nearer than all the rest. Won't go anywhere else again. Great authentic tasting food and super quick service. 10/10.

Don't eat chines often but is a treat from hear really nice

Good price as Chinese food goes, comprehensive menu but not always the best tasting between the two restaurants in that area.

This takeaway has gone really downhill from a few years ago and there are much better local chinese takeaways around now

I have been using Kings garden for a number of years now. The good has always been cooked to perfection and is piping hot. Portion sizes are big and the staff are always friendly and welcoming whether you collect or get it delivered. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a decent Chinese takeaway.

Kings Garden is a top Chinese takeaway - brilliant hot food, generous portions, well prepared and presented. Best Chinese batter in town! This is a long-standing, family run business for whom nothing seems too much trouble. Ask for a different variation on a dish and they will always do their best to oblige, usually with no extra cost. Tasty meals at a good price - certainly worth a visit.
