I love the food from here. As far as I'm concerned its the best chinese in the area

UPDATE. PLEASE SORT THE CHEF OUT WITH THE BLOND HAIR. Twice I have found a blond hair in my rice now. Two long blond hairs in a single rice. I do not live with any blond people!!!! This is usually my regular Chinese and I usually have nothing bad to say about it. Unfortunately the last 2 times I have come here has been a nightmare. There was a long blond hair in my rice last week (both me and my partner have brown/black hair). And today they got my order wrong and gave me prawns when I said I was allergic. I went back to complain and the lady at the till with the blond hair was so rude. Saying I never said no prawns. This wasn't the case as all my order are written on my phone and shown to the ladies at the till. So I have photographic evidence I asked for no prawns. Come home with my 2nd try and the chicken was all gammy. It's quite a trip for my by bus so I just gave up

The best food ever and the price is just fine

Been using this takeaway for as long as i can remember,tonight however was really poor.Delivery took nearly 2 hours,food was therefore warm only. Time to look for another one.0

My review for this place is 5 stars, absolutely love the food here and absolutely love 2 older ladies who take your order! They're both lovley. The food is absolutely amazing, always come here and love it.

The worst Chinese I've ever had, avoid at all cost, rice over cooked then stuck in the microwave , prawns over cooked and like rubber chicken dish dry no taste

Probably the best Chinese takeaway in the area, also, one of the only ones with a 5* hygiene rating! Staff are great and super friendly, food is always hot. Never used delivery as I'm local but of all I've tried, Diamond House is one of the best and consistent takeaways.

My kids and I are vegan and we are visiting family here. My sister eats here all the time and suggested this place. The lady who takes the orders, Tracy, is SO helpful and goes above and beyond. Food is good. If you are vegan don’t get the curry sauce as it contains chicken. They are really good at customizing dishes for you too. Highly recommend this place so suit all. A plus.

We have lived in the area for 6 years and visit frequently, we love it! Always freshly cooked and tasty. Wouldn't go anywhere else

Best Chinese round here I have severe allergy and the dishes that could be adapted to my allergy were adapted to suit me with no bother talked me me threw various recipes so hats of to staff for taking the time to deliver a good meal

Dry ribs were nice, but get rid of the cheap, packet, pre cut, bland steak chips and go back to the old way of peeling, chipping and cooking the chips that were always crispy and crunchy from a Chinese take away, there are many that do the same...who agrees with me?

We have this Chinese at least once a week and have never ever had a bad one. The staff and food are amazing! I don't understand the bad reviews on here, we've been eating there for many many years!

As my title states this was “Takeaway Heaven” from Diamond House. First and foremost we are very, very grateful to the staff and management that we are able to experience this during a world wide pandemic and country lockdown. Secondly the takeaway observes full COVID compliance from start to finish which gave us total confidence of our experience. Thirdly, the takeaway food (which can be seen in my photos) was absolutely perfect. (Fresh ingredients, hot in temperature and incredibly tasty) We had crispy duck, deep fried squid and chopped chicken curry at amazing value for money. Thank you Diamond House for making my lockdown birthday memorable with this treat of a meal.

Never got an order wrong, quite a long wait on top of the original wait. I know due to COVID circumstances are different but still amazing food!

We’ve tried many Chinese takeaways and this was a completely different category of bad food. We can’t understand why there are any good reviews for this takeaway. The food tasted awful. The chips were bland, soggy, and oily. The spring rolls had nothing in them. The list goes on. Even the sauces are gloopy and disgusting. The only one positive note is that it was hot (although that was on collection, so to be expected). This was the worst meal we’ve ever had from either a takeaway or a restaurant. To make things worse the receptionist is completely dismissive, blunt and looks down on you. Truly terrible food and a waste of money.

I thought I would try a different chinese to usual, as it was recommended by a neighbour, and I have to say that I was disappointed. The chow mein had very little taste, and the sweet and sour chicken balls had batter that was so thick that it wasn't pleasant. I should learn and stick to my usual take away.

Love the food and at a good prices

Tasty and fast. Absolutely love them. It's the only place I now have Chinese from. Friendly staff. Rapid delivery. Specify chicken breast or red, it's no problem for them. Beef could be better, but you can't please everyone. Not worth losing a star for. Excuse the pun, but my go to place for a Chinese Chooseday (Tuesday...... Get it!!!!!)

Eat from here regularly. Superb food, excellent customer service and friendly faces. Prices are reasonable as are the portion sizes.

Have been using the Diamond House since we moved to Basildon 14 years ago. The food is great, if not the best Chinese takeaway in Basildon. Great dishes, lots of variety and beautifully cooked. would highly recommend the Chicken Chinese style and the Aromatic duck. Friendly staff and great value.

Teníamos Dulce n amarga Pollo Hong Kong, huevo frito arroz y patatas fritas. Esta es mi comida para llevar local chino, especializado en cocina cantonesa y Pekín, y después de un largo viaje a casa formulario Yorkshire nos merece la comida para llevar. Como siempre, la comida era excelente y hay una amplia variedad para elegir. Recomiendo encarecidamente este chino. Puede estar muy concurrido en horas punta y festivos.

been eating here for at least 20 years, though a little more expensive than other takeaways around basildon it is always good food, I can't get enough of the crispy aromatic duck shredded with their lil wraps and salad

I have not been here for a few years my last report was not a very nice one. Tuesday night grandchildren wanted a Chinese takeaway so thought like would give it a go My God it was absolutely delicious please keep it up l will go back again defiantly.

We have used this for chinese takeways since 1990 and always had good food. Our meals were all piping hot and tasted good as always. I only wish you could pay with credit or debit card when ordering by phone ( you can pay by debit card i believe if you go there and order) as you have to pay by cash when food arrives at the door.

This is a great place to get your take away....tasty and good value for money. They are always polite whether you visit or order by telephone. It's the only Chinese take away I use, been ordering from there for at least 10yrs!!! My Favourite is the sweet and sour chicken cantonese style yum.....

I have used the diamond house for 10+years but will never use them again, tonight's meal was late, cold and tasteless. Friends of mine have also had a bad experience. It's such a shame I've had some excellent food from there until now

Had the ribs from here Friday night bit into them and there was hairs everywhere cannot beleive it was up all night throwing up never ever again

Never order again took over an hour to come.chips was cold,rice was over cooked, prawn crackers greasy .should of asked my money by. Payed £14 for bad food.

Often have the same thing here but the food is good, so much so we rather drive here than go to our local up the road.The noodles are always nice and the curry sauce is never to hot.Worth a go if your looking on here for some advice on where to go, we like it a lot here.

I will never go there again the food was disgusting the chicken balls were not cooked through and chicken was pink in the middle, chow mien was the most tasteless meal I have ever tried to eat.

I'll be honest, I tend to order the same thing from here- the sweet and sour chicken balls, Not very imaginative but I know they'll be good- and they always are. I really can't complain about anything I've had from Diamond House though!
