The best restaurants serving Chinese food in England

The lunch variety is good! Definitely one of my favourite places to have lunch and the price is great, about £15 each for all you can eat lunch and a drink. Definitely amazing value for money. The restaurant is clean, the staff are very attentive and the atmosphere is nice. I have visited many times and will always be a favourite of mine!

told it would be 5 minutes after first call at 15 minutes past estimated time. didn't get delivered for almost another hour after that call, all future calls were ignored, screened and went to voicemail and no response whatsoever.

So this was amazing! I heard it’s part of the same group as Mrs Chews so i had to try it & it didn’t disappoint. Wonderful service, food was great & halal too. Highly recommend.

Food quality is fresh, Staffs are very kind. But there’s many extra charges for example .. basic source, garlic, etc. So you actually need to pay more than only unlimited hotpot.

The food and customer service at this place is one of the best that I have received! Matthew was very helpful and really friendly while we had a nice chat with him. I will be returning for sure. 😃

We order from here most nights, it’s absolutely amazing, they take our order and say it will be around 30-40 minutes, we accept this reasonable time, and some how it comes early most of times. The food is always cooked to standard, and tastes really nice, this is by far the best Chinese I have ever had, well done Golden Bowl 🍲

We haven’t been here for a long time and out of nostalgia we came here last night. It used to be a very tranquil space but not so much now however, it was the food that let the place down. We opted for set menu D at £42 each the hot and sour soup was ok but the dim sum was not good looked and tasted like was from COSTCO, some strange options like the rolled beef and the spring rolls it took a while to decipher what these were made of sauces/dips that accompanied were unusual and not in a good way I’m afraid. Crispy duck was fine and only course I enjoyed. Meals that followed sizzling steak ginger spring onion fatty, chewy and Szechuan chicken meat seemed incredibly processed/manufactured which matched the rest of the courses. Not sure there are actual chefs here. We mostly had our cutlery and dishes thrown onto the table literally by a young waiter who definitely needs some help with service delivery/etiquette other staff were efficient and polite enough if seemed somewhat stressed. Overall not a pleasant experience and we won’t be returning.

The waiter was rude. I asked for an unused chair at the adjacent table to place the fresh vegetables I just bought at the market. This simple request was immediately rejected by the waiter. A four-person table cannot have five chairs. Four guests must sit on a four-person table. Even if there are other Jitaiji chairs, they are not available. The solution is to put fresh vegetables on the ground or on the table. We chose to use half a table for four to place the fresh vegetables we just bought. The food quality was also worse than before. I ordered a dish of roasted noodles with dried crab meat, but what I got was fried noodles with shredded crab meat and onions.

Today I bought half a roast duck as usual. I watched the chef cut it, but I didn't expect that since he had left four yuan to give to the next customer, the portion was reduced. Was it because the business was so good that he cut corners? I was very unhappy.

Called by hoping they were open, and they were, and fortunately it was very quiet in there as it is a very popular place, and can get rammed. The service is simply excellent as is the décor, and the attention to detail, and far better than some other very famous local (Ryde) and mainland establishments, where the words fine dining are thrown about with no real comprehension of what they mean. The food was top notch, portion size good, and value fair and reasonable considering all that was offered. All in all we had an extremely enjoyable meal, and will return more often, but not in 'high season'.

Excellent dim sum and the excellent menu choice was very good too. The restaurant was pretty full which is always a good sign so it’s always essential to book. The staff are friendly and very efficient. The restaurant has a good size car park.
