Twin Dynasty in Gravesham

Booked to go here on Easter Sunday arrived 7 30 surprised to see restaurant half empty or less but no problem as it can get noisy. One large table of adults with a child being loud and swearing which is not what you want. Food was OK wine was good although a bit pricey. Although the staff where pleasant they fell down on the delivery to the table items were forgotten my wife's meal arrived in 3 stages. Shame as it was not an overall good night and in my opinion not value for money (£80) on the night.

In these time where everything is costing more to go for a meal it supposed to be a treat but was let down last night only about 30ish people in the restaurant yet they managed to forget my noodles by the time they came my husband had finished his meal I only eat a bit as by this time was fed up a real let down I suppose we should have complained but was just fed up by that time and just wanted to leave it was a toss up between Dynasty and China Garden before we went out, l know where we will be going next time 😔😔

Food was good, but check your bill we had paid £110 deposit which they hadn’t taken off - we told them and they did remove it. However 2 out of 9 were not having the all you can eat buffet and ordered 2 portions chicken balls and three portions chips which we were charged £46.40 for !!!!

We booked here for a family birthday meal, horrible salty starters duck was crap and waited so long for main meal we gave up ! A very rude and aggressive male , maybe the owner still demanded we pay the full £27.80 per person 9 adults 2 children!! Threatened us with the police if we didn't pay the full price !! Never in my life have I had such a poor experience in a restaurant. AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!!!!

Shocking service, ordered a take away, took over 2 hours, turned up cold, there was no updates, they took their phone of the hook, so couldn't get through to them, very rude and unprofessional, never ordering from them again

First time at this lovely restaurant in Gravesend. A surprise 50th Birthday celebration. Great food and service. Lovely that there’s a choice of circular or oblong tables. We took a cake + we put candles etc on, and the staff were very discreet when revealing this. There wasn’t any rush to chivvy us out of the restaurant. We arrived at 19:00 and left about 22:15… there were 8 of us. My only issue was that online you can only access the food menu’s and not the drinks menu (with prices on). Parking very close by too. Great value for the evening. Will certainly return.

A dear friend of mine invited my fiancée and I for a meal in a Chinese restaurant in Gravesend. In my heart, I had a dark premonition that he would be taking us to Twin Dynasty. I was, unfortunately, correct. I had been to this establishment once previously, an evening marred by nauseous lighting, an overbearing DJ, and music which couldn't have been more intrusive if it had been wearing bells and slapping me across the face with a frozen salmon. I vowed never to go again, a vow that was shattered by social obligation this fateful evening. The food is saltier than the Dead Sea, the plates are covered in a strange dark fluff upon service, and the prices are extravagantly high. The low-point of a poor (yet mercifully brief) experience came after our mountainous pile of starters had been spirited away. A meagre pot of hoisin sauce was placed upon our table, for reasons unknown to man or beast. It, and we, sat for some ten minutes as bored servers whizzed past us. Eventually we asked to be given the bill for the starters, whereupon we were asked: "are you not enjoying the duck?" This was puzzling as: 1) We hadn't been asked for orders. 2) We hadn't ordered duck. 3) My fiancée is allergic to duck. 4) There was no duck. Ultimately this is a restaurant for people who don't like restaurants. Dine at your peril.

The. Starters where very good, duck was stone cold , meat on mains was something very different chicken was very watery, beef the same , think pre cooked frozen

Came here for a friend's birthday. Staff were welcoming at first and seated us fast as place wasn't too busy. Food is tasty and enjoyed what I ate and service was quite fast, however very obnoxious DJ playing house music so loud that even when screaming at each other, conversations cannot be had. Asked FOUR times to have it turned down as literally no one was dancing or singing along but DJ refused. Feels more like having a sit down meal in a nightclub rather than in a restaurant. Also felt unfairly judged for not completely clearing our plates and staff not only stood and stared at us all, but were quite clearly having conversations about me and my friends whilst stood directly behind us and making us all feel rather uncomfortable. Nothing is mentioned on a website that this place is 70% nightclub and 30% dine-in eating so wouldn't recommend for people looking to have a nice family meal. BONUS: place is step free to enter and is wheelchair accessible 👍🏼

Had dinner with a friend and it was a pleasant dining experience. From the well decorated interior to the ambience to the friendly staff (one of them deboned my crispy aromatic duck) to the delicious food, this is a place worth visiting! For £26 you can eat all you want 😊. Plus you get fragranced hot towels to wipe your hands after the meal. Caveat: don't waste food or you'll be charged extra at management discretion!

Place has sadly gone down gone down hill, food was standard and they had dropped their lunch time menu for an eat all you like buffet (the range had been reduced) only blessing was they reduced the £12 price to £8 for my 3 year old even if she did only eat prawn crackers and 2 duck pancakes

I have been here twice now it's always packed and lively my wife loves it here . Food is nice we go on a Saturday when there is a disco on makes it a great atmosphere

Staff were attentive despite it being very busy. Food was good. However there was DJ playing very loud music and although in the right place I've no objection to this, we couldn't have a conversation without shouting and often repeating ourselves. On booking I think we should have been informed this was happening. Apparently its a once a month thing.

Great food and service slow but still no change visited Saturday 8th April this is border line racism now as the waiting staff which are not Chinese are still not allowed to keep tips so I put this to the test again I offered a English waitress a tenner tip for good service but she informed she not allowed keep tips so angry won't be eating their again It's a shame shame

Had a table booked for a catch up with some friends and we weren’t disappointed. Food was plentiful and very tasty, forgot our ribs but after a request they turned up. Good value and definitely worth a visit.

We went for a work Christmas party and was quite a large group. The wait times werent bad considering this. They checked on us regularly to see if we wanted more food or drink and to make sure nothing had been forgotten. Food was nice and not a bad selection. We had a picky eater that struggled a little

Went Saturday 17/12/22 and it was quite an experience! No way was it relaxing as they had a DJ trying to get everyone in a party mood and sing along. Then a big group started dancing in the middle of the restaurant. The service was so slow. This probably was due the amount of people hanging around the bar and not allowing the staff to do their jobs. When the food eventually arrived it was good. I would go back but not during some community celebration.

I went to twins last for my Xmas works do and we got there before our table was due and we waited an hour and 20 minutes to be seated and then we waited for someone to come and take our order and we waited for that a very long time and we got only a couple of dishes and then we ordered our mains and only got a few dishes of that and when the food came out it was cold and the staff didn’t seem to care that we as a party wasn’t happy and when spoken to the manger they said it’s Christmas we will not be back very poorly run and short staff we couldn’t wait to go home the staff was very quick in giving us the bill

Visited twins for works Christmas do. Bad from start to finish. Waited 1hour and 20 mins to be seated then the wait just continued, waited to order, waited a long time for our food to come out. Funnily enough the only thing we didnt wait for was the bill at the end. Dishes we ordered were missing, food was cold. Spoke with the manager who said that their chefs can decided on the quantity of food that comes out. Even though its all you can eat. Absolutely dreadful night we couldn't wait to leave and go home. The waitress were apologetic and completely run off their feet. The manager said it me 'it's christmas' as some sort of excuse. My suggestion maybe put on more staff to cope with the amount of people you book in.

Myself and some friends went to twins last night for our christmas works do we work very hard all year round all we wanted to do is let our hair down for a night it was absolutely awful had to wait a hour and 20 minutes to be seated even tho we booked in advance when we did finally sit down when we ordered our food alot was missing told we had to share also it was cold the manger didnt care when got spoken to just parlmed us all off. Now we all had to pay 33 pound for that rubbish the place should be shut down. Never again will i be going back there and my advance is stay well clear NASTY PLACE.

Absolutely loved our visit for a friend's birthday. The food was incredible, atmosphere relaxed and comfortable. Staff were amazing and attentive. Definitely will return in the new year!! If I could give more than 5* I would!!

Food was decent. Quantity wasn't inspiring and the flavour wasn't as good as I thought. Maybe it's just that day but I'll give one more trial before I conclude as there is another Chinese restaurant near by that has a very good flavour to their meals. Overall, customer service was good... I like the dude that attended to me on last night/time I visited for a takeaway. This is Dec 2022. Oh also, as a recognised Google Local guide, I do my best to be pragmatic and write based on my experience at the time. Nothing sentimental and tried not to be biased as much as possible. Decent place to have a dine.

We hadn’t seen our friends for ages and wanted to catch up with them with good conversation. This was impossible with a DJ in the corner blasting our Xmas and non-Xmas music the whole time and shouting in his mike for people to enjoy Christmas and not be Grinches. Despite requesting two or three times it be turned dorm so that we could hear the person next to us nothing was done. Food was ok and waiters helpful but evening marred by an ignorant disrespect for customers’ enjoyment of and not cheap meal. Won’t be returning

Lovely food with great variety of options. All items on the "all you can eat" menu are freshly made and delivered to the table when you order. Friendly staff can make suggestions if you aren't sure what to have. Highly recommend the buffet special offer.

Went on a saturday evening with family. Supposedly all you can eat but after receiving small main courses which were short by one main we couldn’t order any more food. Despite requesting to order more mains twice from different waiting staff it appeared they were not empowered to take food orders. We were ignored and in the end we gave up after being in restauraunt for over 2 hrs and asked for the bill. We left hungry which is crazy for an all you can eat! The food we had was nice but there just wasn’t enough of it so didnt work out good value. Why there is only one member of staff taking food orders seems like a mechanism to restrict what you can order!

Visited Twin Dynasty for a birthday meal with friends and it was ok…. But just ok. Starters came out quickly, all tasted ok but smoked chicken felt a little ‘processed’ as did the chicken satay. A bit of a wait for main meals and when they arrived they were all ok, lemon chicken was a slice of frozen chicken I think, tasted alright but was a bit tough. Service was friendly but I felt like I was eating in a mess.. the bones from the duck where still on the table during the main course. The restaurant is quite big and seems to lack atmosphere and it’s quite impersonal. If you want an ok meal for an ok price then this is probably for you. If you want a better meal in a more quiet and personal setting, then Twin Dynasty may not quite be suitable.

Phoned and booked a table a couple of weeks ago, my friends from essex wanted to come too, so they phoned and added places to the booking, also phoned again to make sure there was room for a mobility scooter, turned up tonight and it was shut!!! Phoned the number and they basically said they was closed and wasn’t opening, thanks a lot!!! What a lot of money they missed out on, will not be going here again 🤬😡

Everyone who works at Twin Dynasty seems very nice and courteous, which is very rare to find these days. Unfortunately, however, wonderful people only go so far in a restaurant WHEN THE FOOD THEY SERVE IS TERRIBLE. (In this sense, Twindy Nasty in Gravesend is the exact opposite of Tang's in Chatham, which serves great food but has HORRIBLE people.) The chefs at Twindy Nasty have no idea what they are doing. They even get some of the basic Chinese recipes wrong. (Their menus are also very limited for a restaurant of this kind, ESPECIALLY for the very high price they charge.) We tried altogether about 20 items from the menu; only two of them were edible. The rest were too bland, no seasoning, wrong recipe, etc. It's too bad; the good people at Twindy Nasty deserve to do better, but I don't see how they can be a successful restaurant with the chefs they got. Yes, servers and people in the front of the restaurant are important because they are the face of the restaurant, but so are the chefs. They are MORE important, because people go to restaurants primarily to enjoy good food, not just good people. If only the people at Twindy Nasty in Gravesend could get the chefs from Tang's in Chatham....

Fantastic, ordered a takeaway for our daughters birthday. The guy taking order was very polite and advised not to over order too much food, which I feel is a good for a business that makes money from selling something. Food arrived quickly the delivery driver was polite and respected the current COVID rules. The food was really tasty and hot. Great service great food, what more could you want. So far the best Chinese in Gravesend. Thank you to all the staff at Twin Dynasty.

my family and i come here for birthdays and a treat sometimes, the food has always been great and never had a problem with that! our slight issue lies in the service; on a few occasions there's been a long wait for food and we only get the missing dish after asking multiple times. but we do often look past this as the restaurant is usually very busy - aside from that, it's a decent dinner option, especially for larger families.

The ladies in this restaurant, in particular, are rude. If you buy lots to drink and eat little you seem to get good service. However, if you just drink water and want to enjoy the 'eat as much as you like' promise to the full, then this place is not for you. They seem to use psychological tactics to make you feel guilty in ordering more. In this case go to a Chinese restaurant & order a set meal at a fraction of the cost. The only time we got a smile or a cheery word was when we came to pay & they were clearly looking for a tip.However, the food is tasty.

We went during the government scheme there was zero distancing between tables and no limit on table size. We had a table of 10 crammed in behind us.Starters over cooked as it was clear they were cooked ahead of time. Main courses extremely slow and tiny portions yes its a eat as much as you like but having to ask 5 times for 1 item got tedious. Just too many people, average to poor food and super slow service.Wont be back its a shame the competition didn't reopen after lockdown as that was far superior.

I will admit that the food was tasty, I did really enjoy it, however the wait between ordering and getting the food was very long, but the worst is that the staff would not replace our cutlery and they made us wait nearly 20 minutes for our drinks. They would take our plates and then place the dirty cutlery back down on the tables instead of replacing it, and when we tried to ask for new cutlery the staff would rush off or just give it to one person on our table. This is a shame because if that was done slightly better then I would have given this place a better review, please learn from this and address these issues so we come back again as your food is brilliant.

Went on line to check website, have used the restaurant before, and wanted to take advantage of government scheme. Website confirmed they were participating, and that they were open. Drove 15 miles to meet a notice in the window saying they didn't open until 5, it was 1 o'clock. If they have the foresight to update the website to say they are participating in the scheme, might be an idea to update the opening times !!

Went to Twins last night and wow was it busy, waited to be seated and temperature scanned before entering ( Good idear.) Seated and ordered drinks and a mixed starters. They arrived quickly and the food was fresh and well cooked. We then ordered our second course duck, well this took 40 minutes to get to us I appreciate that it was the last week of the government's half price meals but 40 minutes!!! The staff were running around like blue ass flys trying to deal with all the other customers so they were busy. Eventually got the second course which was very nice and after that tje reasurant did calm down a bit so the staff were not so busy. All in all a nice meal well cooked and tasty. I will try it again after the 1/2 price meal deal ends to see if things ate better.

Went to the Twin Dynasty last night with my wife. . Arrived at 8pm,and it was very busy. Managed to find us a table, although we had booked. Service was average. The portions of each starter was pretty small, so we had to keep reordering, but felt we were being a bit of a nuisance by doing so. Forgot some dishes, and had to reorder them. I don't know why, but they were in rush to serve us duck pancakes. It was as if they wanted to hurry us along. When we asked for the bill, they gave us the wrong one. and then took the tablecloth off the table while we were still sitting there. Again, made to feel we were being rushed out, although when we left, about 10.30, there were plenty of free tables. Would probably return to the Twin Dynasty, but just be aware, it is a bit of a cattle market.

This was our first visit with friends and chose the all you can eat menu for £17,80 a head (although drink costs soon mount up)! It was around 4 pm following a Theatre visit. The restaurant was not busy at this time, the food was varied and good, it was delivered to the table fresh and hot. Staff could have been a bit more attentive as we were served a drink in a glass split top to bottom, they changed the glass straight away. The biggest let down was the fact that we were encouraged to share dishes which resulted in people round the table using their cutlery that they had eaten off to take from the sharing platters, not something I like or would encourage. This restaurant MUST make sure there is separate cutlery with all dishes when they arrive at the table. Apart from this the overall experience was OK.

Called last minute for the reservation on a busy Saturday evening. When we went in we had to wait almost 40 minutes for the table, but this was only one shortfall. Apart from that everything was ok, food really good and staff really welcoming.

The first thing I noticed about this restaurant was the friendly and warm welcome as soon as you enter the door. The service was excellent and all the staff were eager to please in a genuine way. The food certainly didn’t disappoint; it was excellent. A place to recommend.

Table not ready at the time of our booking but, not a massive problem however, service was very slow - maybe 15 minutes to order starters - when they came, looked great however, the chicken and seaweed were inedible - they had about 5 times as much salt on them as they should have!Duck course took about 30 minutes to arrive after the starters were cleared - there is a difference between crispy duck and cremated - it was as dry as eating the table cloth - we sent it back and another was delivered about 10 minutes later - much better.Main course was served fairly quickly after - nothing exciting about them.Service - pretty poorFood - pretty poor

The food was delicious but the last who we believed to be the manager was so rude! It’s an all you can eat buffet so of course we order a range of different things ( we ate the majority of the dishes) however we did leave some food. She then came over to us and said if your not going to eat it don’t order it and started slamming the dishes when picking them up. When we left we said thank you to her several times in which she ignored us. Such a rude lady, we wasn’t actually told we had to eat EVERY scrap off the plate when we were seated, it was written in the tiniest writing at the back.

1 star. Given just because the heating was on. Apart from that service was terrible. Plenty of staff but didn't have any idea what they were doing. Food was terrible. Avoid at all cost.

The Twin Dynasty offers a friendly welcome, good service and excellent food. Not much more I can say.

Some Chinese restaurants and takeaways can serve quite greasy, mundane food but Twin Dynasty always has light and fresh noodles - the best are either udon or the flat griddled kind - and the mixed seafood dishes have huge chunks of calamari, prawn and scallops in them.I’d also recommend the crispy beef and a chicken satay dish.It gets very busy most evenings so service isn’t always running smoothly but I’ve never had to wait too long during peak times.

We were a party of 10 visiting on a Thursday evening to celebrate A Level results.

All you can eat Chinese can be a bit hit and miss... But Twin Dynasty is definitely a hit. Rather than a buffet everything is brought out fresh to order... Starters can be ordered individually, or as a bit of everything... If you want seconds or something specific just ask and more will be brought.

Have been to twin dynasty quite a few times never been disappointed great food great service nothing is to much trouble staff always smiling and there was the added bonus of a singer when we went on the 1st of June who was very good will be returning again soon .

Myself and my family of 6 have been eating at Twin Dynasty for nearly 7 years now. We go there every birthday, celebration and Chinese New Year.

Food is okay, wide variety, BUT!!!!

The food is always great, never disappointed. However the live music, whilst good was far too loud where your ears were ringing. We asked the waiters and bar staff so many times to turn the live music down. If anything it got worse. A few tables ended up having to move because it was too loud!

I went with 8 friends ,we had a large round table for 9 of us plenty of room ,the waiter and waitress were great ,done a very good job ,polite funny and helpful

We had another great experience at Twins. The staff are always friendly and the food is always excellent. We like to arrive early roughly 6ish to miss the crowds and the food is always prepared quickly and comes out red hot! The staff are always pleasant. Great value for money

Been here a few times now and think food is great. But all three times I've booked on this app yet get to the restaurant and they have no reference of my booking so that's very annoying . Something here needs to change as its embarrassing arriving with the app saying your time and date of booking yet the restaurant knows nothing about it

We have been numerous times and the food is always good and hot. Would like to see a change in the menu as it’s been the same for a long time.

This place is lovely the staff like a laugh. Food is always lovely and hot and so yummy. I recommend everything and the coconut icecream is 2 die for as is the Tia Maria coffee 👍👌😎

As a group of 7 we decided to try somewhere new and we were not disappointed, friendly people great food and a fantastic evening, at 16.90 per person you may think it’s expensive but when you see the amount of food (and cooked to order not a buffet under lights) it is more than reasonable, you order what you like (or in our case get them to suggest a selection of starters, then we had the aromatic duck, then ordered mains), prompt service but also giving you a bit of time not pushy, would recommend and will definitely go again.

Great food as usual with a fantastic singer, Mr Chan entertaining us, even though a large group in front of the singer moaned the singer spoilt their night!! They moaned so they got moved further away . Can’t please everyone I guess!

So, we had decided this would be a good place to try to celebrate a family anniversary. We booked a table for 6 people at 8pm on a Saturday night. (First mistake of ours). This is clearly the few hours of the week that the staff's feet don't touch the ground as they run frantically around kitchen to table to bar. We arrived a few minutes before 8pm and there was a queue of people waiting to be seated. But as we had booked we were expecting to bypass the queue. Nope. That wasn't happening. Were were told 10 minutes as we scanned the abundance of filled tables, searching for someone to be settling the bill. 10 minutes later we were told it would be another 10 minutes and to get a drink at the bar. Complimentary of course. Nope. We could pay for our drinks whilst standing in a crowded bar area waiting to be seated. Now 8.20pm we were told a few minutes. Discussions in the group turned to going somewhere else but I convinced them that by starting the process with an unbooked restaurant would delay our celebrations even more.

Visited here as part of a family meal, 11 of us in total. It is quite a noisy place (or was when we visited). Very polite service, good range of food to choose from and plenty of food when it did arrive. I was sceptical about the quality of the food but when it arrived it was good. Enjoyed the food which was plentiful. The service continued to be good. Pleasantly surprised.

food was really nice, but getting it was not so easy. we ordered mushrooms 3 times and still didnt get any, so gave up, we also order 2 other dishes, one turned up after ordering it again and the other never turned up. once we had finished eating they removed all the table cloths, which was strange. and then to top it off they ask out loud if you want to add a tip to the bill, very awkward. my mum is celiac and they did have gluten free options, but the staff all had differing opinions on what she could eat so that was worrying for her, they didnt seem to understand the importance.

On arrival was shown to a nicely laid out round table,which is always good when their are a lot of people. We were served with drinks promptly and asked what we would like for starters.Plenty of very pleasant food was delivered to our table, The waitress asked us if everything was okay and did we want anymore food,( as it it a all you can eat buffet).We then had duck and lamb pancakes and they certainly didn't go stingy on the duck. Then after so much food we then had the mains, you certainly will not leave this chinese feeling hungry. The only down side for us was a table of very noisy excited children but that said at one stage the waitress did ask the children to sit down ,we all felt sorry for the staff.We would return if in the area.

This was the first time we have been mid-week. The food and service was great. The restaurant though a little cool and could have been warmer.

As always a good meal at the Twin Dynasty with their 'all you can eat' menu. Only thing that slightly spoilt it was that my wife didn't get her noodles but we had so many rice and noodles we were all able to share. Top service and top food.

The set menu is really poor value for children and the choice is far too limited for them. We paid £26 for our two boys to have two bowls of rice and a set of duck pancakes. When we mentioned it to the staff they just stared back and handed us the (unchanged) bill. The food was pretty disappointing too...my Wonton soup was just water with no flavour!

When we first arrived we needed to change one of the chairs as a previous guest had deliberately left (nicely positioned) a selection of prawn toast and spring rolls! So the chair was all oily, and made me wonder about the cleanliness as they had clearly been there a long time!

My partner & i go to this eatrry quite often, the service on saturday night was rather slow with what seemed to be staff shortages, there was a long wait to be greeted on entering so long so couple in front of us walked out. Staff that were there were good but seemed rather rushed as such often missed what we were actually asking for. At busy times an explination to diners woukd be good, only one member of staff actually apologised for the delay in getting food to the table. Took 15mins to get first order taken, 40mins after arrival for first dish to reach table. Its the first we've experienced such delays, we love twin dynasty hope they get more staff soon as food is excellent be booking again in a minute " Yes back of the net"
