Constant quality food every time!

This was our first takeaway from here. We were charged more than the prices shown online (so this needs updating). There was only one person to take phone orders and deal with the public and this was on a busy Saturday evening so it was chaotic. We found the food to be greasy and not very appetising. We will not go again.

If they would have a option to put 0 star I would , first I start with the portions are so small not enough for the price , and I had chicken chowmein and it was disgusting the chicken inside smell like old and it had so big pieces of chicken inside I never seen a chow mein like this Normal chow mein has strips of chicken pieces inside not hole pieces it so awful and smell bad never ever again fujj

Used this Chinese restaurant for last 8 years and been great, tonight was awful, meat was like rubber and rest of meal tasted nothing like normal? Real shame but will now need to find a new takeaway 😕

Well this place has really changed. Used to be very nice. Bland, tasteless and rubbery the list continues. Spent over £80, what a waste of money. Never again.

We have been using this shop regularly for 40 years and the food was always really good. Something has changed, the food has got worse over the last year through new chefs in the kitchen. I have always told people this was the best in town. I tried to contact them about food being not cooked properly and got ignored . Not only has the food gone downhill so has the service. Lost a customer

Told me it would be ready in half an hour. Got there half an hour after placing the order. Ended up standing outside for 45 minutes, so it took 1 hour 15 in total, no apology, no discount, no nothing!

Good food, with a large choice on the menu. Food was tasty and not at all greasy, with good sized options. No delivery, and card payments were not accepted. Luckily there is a cash machine next door. We will be using them again!

Food ok but chicken balls tastes like it was fried with old oil. Bought chicken balls 3 times and it still tastes same. Singapore fried rice is very good.

As takeaways go ,this is pretty good. the food was very tasty the food was very tasty and the price not too bad..

Best Chinese in gravesend if you dont mind collecting

We have been ordering from Lucky Jade for over 30 years. The food is excellent but it doesn't matter how good the food is when items are missing time and time again. This has happened so many times recently that we will not be ordering from them anymore. Tonight while I was waiting for over half an hour for my order I also overheard other people complaining about missing food.

Not great, not awful. Ordered a mushroom omelette & chips and sweet & sour chicken Hong Kong style, egg fried rice and chips in gravy. The rice had a really funny taste though, so spoiled the rest of it. Probably wouldn't use again.

Absolutely shocking curry sauce emptied out in the bag. Food was so cold the duck was burn and over cooked. Noodles was swimming in oil the worst Chinese I have ever had they don’t evan deserves a one star rating 🤒.

It's OK here they need too learn how too cook chicken balls though always part cooked chicken still fleshy had too chuck my last order in the bin and waiting times are a joke I've made a order of two items other customers have big orders doesn't matter who ordered first your be sat there watching loads leave before you get ur chops and curry sauce lol

I’m a bit disappointed with your new menu prices have gone up and some items are missing from it I can’t find chilli spiced prawns which is now salt n peppers prawns And desserts are gone I used to order pineapple fritters

my husband loves this chinese - sadly they don't deliver. But he enjoys the singapore noodles and chicken with mushroom so much that i have to collect it for him! He raves about their pancake rolls as well. For me the sweet and sour chicken is spot on. Yum

Usually use lucky dragon takeaway but ita shut temporarily for whatever reason. Googled close by chineese takeaway because already had moaning wife to hurry up with the dinner. Found lucky jade takeaway and went there. Pretty quick, seemed reasonable price. The journey started at home . Sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style with Stone chicken and elastic onion .. both cant be eaten. BEEF and veg dish with hard as tyre beef... and in the end Plastic rice. Couldn't eat any of it. Such a joke. Whoever left 5 start must of been paid or given free food. Do NOT Recomment Ever

Had a Pad Thi and hot n sour soup. The Pad thi was all noodles and very little of anything else. As for the soup, that went straight down the loo.

There isn't much to say about this place other than they are the best Chinese restaurant in Gravesend. Tried so many others (forced to do so when they shut for their weekly day off), and yet nothing compares! Absolutely top notch! Give it a go, you. Won't be diaspointed. The price is also very good! 👌 Quality food for a quality price.

Typing this review whilst sitting on the toilet for the 5th time... food poisoning from the worst chinese takeaway I have experienced. Avoid at all costs, if you have to check the reviews to find out if a place is good, then this is not the chinese you are looking for.

Worst chinese takeaway in Gravesend by far. AVOID!!! Quoted 1 hour for pickup, told another hour once arriving and then ANOTHER HOUR. Asked for a discount and was told they cannot do anything, told them I will never come back again and picked up my food, chicken was rubbery, family ended up getting food poisoning and food looked like human and cat meat mixed. Possibly the worst food takeaway I have experienced. Poor customer service and will NEVER RETURN.

Always fresh and quick to cook food

All chicken products purchased last night were rubbery and tasted like chemicals (bleach) I called them to complain only to be told ' we never have a problem what do you want me to do' when I requested a refund I was told ' I can't do refund maybe next order I give you free chicken balls'. I will not order from here again let alone a chicken product after this experience. Not good customer service at all and £30 straight in the bin

I order from a couple of Chineese Takeaway's in my area but I have found this one to consistently deliver on quality of food and at a good price. I live less than 10 minutes away and my order is almost always ready when I turn up what ever day of the week.

As a family we had used the Lucky Jade regularly for many years and always found the food and service to be excellent - we were a little disappointed that the new owners don't seem to have carried on the excellent service and had to wait ages for our order to be ready, the food however is still pretty good.

This take-away has been here for many years, during which time I’ve used it periodically. It’s always been one of the better Chinese take-aways, but despite this I’ve used it a lot less than I would have done had they offered a delivery service. However, not having been for over a year we decided to give it another go. A telephone call established that unfortunately they still don’t deliver (in my view they are losing a lot of trade by this decision, but I assume they have costed it) but we ordered anyway. Asked how long it would be was told ‘five minutes’ This put me off a bit, as while Chinese cooking is quick, it’s not that quick for four dishes! Pre-cooked and kept warm was the thought that immediately came to mind. As the timing had suggested, I had the impression that much of it had been pre-cooked and simply waiting to be heated and spooned into the containers. This was particularly so with the rice, which seemed as though it had been pre-packed in a container and kept warm and heated for collection as the rice inside was fairly dry and when the foil container was turned upside down it fell out as a solid block! Having said that the food was flavoursome and enjoyable, although I think it has changed hands since we last visited as while it was nice I didn’t think it was as good or fresh as I remembered it. Nevertheless, pre-packed rice or not, I would still use it more frequently if they delivered but I am afraid that, as before, it was not sufficiently better or different to a number of take-aways that do deliver to warrant the hassle of driving up to collect it. On more practical matters that might be helpful, there is sufficient (free) parking outside so no problem with collection if driving. The menu is an extensive list of all the usual dishes, with a limited number of Thai and Japanese dishes added since I last went. Prices are reasonable (for example, Kung Po Chicken and similar £5.20, King Prawn Curry £5.40, Fried Rice £2.90 to give a benchmark), and portions good (about the same as most others I’ve been to). You should note that it closes on Tuesday. As for the rating, I would have rated meals in the past as Very Good', but on this occasion we didn't think it lived up to that description, particularly bearing in mind the solidity of the rice. While I would still say it was good (and still probably better than the average take-away in town), Trip Advisor for some reason doesn’t provide a rating for 'Good' so my rating of average means good but typical rather than anything worse.

I used this Chinese frequently for many years and it was one of the best around and very popular, recently it has changed hands and the fist thing they did was increase the prices, change the popular menu, and the food quality is now terrible, my friends who also used this place all agree and no longer use it. why do new owners move in and ruin a good established business

Yo y 4 amigos disfrutamos de una bonita para llevar. Nos esperábamos muy concurrida, pero estamos teniendo un corto tiempo de espera de 15 minutos. La comida era deliciosa, y bien caliente. Lo único que puedo decir es que deberían hacer la entrega, ya que sólo aceptan pedidos de colección.

Muy decepcionante que he estado viniendo aquí durante 15 años nunca tuvimos una mala comida ahora es cambiar de manos y no hay buenas noticias!

I've been visiting the Lucky Jade for the past 15 years. Food is always hot, they've never given me the wrong order or missed an item, the food always tastes to a good Chinese takeaway standard. Staff are lovely and welcoming also.

I was attracted by the menu item incorporating sizzling fillet steak - what I got was tough tasteless overcooked - and VERY OVERPRICED cheap braising steak. Ignore with a vengeance.

One of the better chinese food places. Being Asian, i find most chinese take outs rubbish. Lucky jade has a more authentic menu, although not quite 100% the type of chinese i am used to, some dishes do taste familiar. Definitely returning for more chinese when i'm feeling lazy!

I've been using Lucky Jade for over 15 years and I would describe it as my 'Chinese Take Away of choice' in Gravesend. If you haven't tried their Lucky Jade Special Chow Mein, then do so... and you won't need to buy an accompaniment either - it's a meal in itself.

We get take away from there quite frequently because it's the most delicious Chinese food I've ever eaten. Would recommend to anyone and the price is very good as well
