Based on the reviews here we ordered a takeaway. What we got was not real Chinese food, portions were minuscule and I can only assume that the good reviews posted here are from people with limited exposure to the real McCoy. To top it off £60 for this was 'robbery'. If you know what's good for you look elsewhere.

HK style milk tea, Siu Mai and French toast are highly recommended 🫶🏻 Finally had a super authentic Hong Kong style milk tea in the UK🤤 West toasts with lots of peanut butter! Even compared to Hong Kong tea restaurants👍🏻👏🏻

I ordered hot milk tea + cider + curry beef brisket rice once, and walked down the street with two cups of ice milk tea at the same time: I think the best time to drink Hong Kong-style milk tea is in the center of Manchester. The balance of tea/milk and sweetness is just right; The boss and other employees are very friendly; Hong Kong people who come to Manchester City must go! Highly recommended!

Everything is very rich. We ordered half a duck to share between two people (which was very tasty) and some noodles with Dim Sum. The attention from the staff was also very good.

“I ordered char siu rice, and ended up finding a 3 cm long, semi-transparent worm lying stiffly among the vegetable leaves. So I asked for the dish to be returned. After the owner took it away, he repeatedly emphasized to us that the vegetables were fresh, and then there was no further explanation, as if nothing had ever happened. It’s a pity I forgot to take a photo—otherwise, I would’ve definitely shown everyone what a worm that only eats fresh vegetables looks like.”

Just had a wonderful meal at Dragon Oriental. Lovely service from the owner and staff, and the food was beautiful. We would highly recommend the salt and pepper ribs, prawn toast and crispy duck pancakes, although everything was really nice. Would recommend going and we will return next time we're in Manchester. This is the first time I ordered the Kowloon ice room dish. I ordered a portion of 2-3 people and it was very filling. 👍🏻I won’t feel thirsty after eating. Even the soup base comes with shredded scallops that can be cooked on the side. 😋The price is reasonable and I will continue to do so next year. order

Most authentic Hong Kong style Caa Caan Teng (茶餐廳）you can find in the UK. Mike Tea and stir-fried beef flat noodles are the things that you definitely can’t miss. I stayed at Manchester for a few days for work in August 2023 and visited this Caa Caan Teng for a few times , tried different dishes and all of them are just wonderful. Not too salty or oily (which usually are the problems for dishes at Caa Caan Teng), and the toilets are always very clean. Highly recommended.

Been in the restaurant yesterday with my friends. We ordered food and they served our drinks on a bottles so we probably need a straw. We asked for it and the Old man staff threw the straw on our table, I found it rude to throw it on our table. Afterwards our order came except for one dish. We had to follow up the order and they rudely said they’re doing it. 45 minutes waiting they said they didn’t took the order. Not even ask for an apology of making us wait. If only there is a zero star i will probably give, not even worth for a 1 star.

The food here is so tasty! I had the French toast and crispy chicken thigh in scallion oil and both were delicious. It was a busy Friday night but we didn’t have to wait long for anything, all was fresh and hot. We will absolutely be back!

Authentic Hong Kong food. Match Hong Kong standard. The fried noodles is so spot on. The dishes are order to cook. So everything is very warm. Milk tea is exactly the taste you got in Hong Kong. Staff are friendly with smiles. Got the positive vibes. Definitely will visit again.

A really wonderful meal tonight. We ordered far too much because the portions were huge. But somehow managed to eat it all!! Lovely service too. And to come out next to the Chinese arch and all the lanterns was a very pretty end to our trip.

I ordered the Beef Rice with Smooth Egg and the Fat Beef Vermicelli Claypot. The vermicelli in the Fatty Beef Vermicelli Pot was especially delicious! ! recommend!

As a Hong Konger, I was thrilled to find that the food here is almost exactly like what we have back home. We tried the HK French Toast and Pork Chop rice with salad sauce, and the portions were huge! The food was absolutely delicious. The staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. It’s definitely worth a visit!

Manchester England Yes we are travelling and arrived London a week ago. Been a busy week sight seeing and been to many places of interest. So please look out for my other reviews - Thanks! Finally we have decided to have Chinese cuisines and did a google search and found this Hong Kong style restaurant. Service & Ambience [4] Walk straight into the restaurant we were greeted by a friendly staff. Many food to chose from the menu but go with their recommendations. Service was quick and ask for tap water to quench thirst. Food [4]. I would say, food tasted good. The salt and pepper chips are unique. Love the spicy beef noodle soup and their signature char siew rice bowl. Also try their milk tea. Would recommend to anyone craving for Hong Kong style food.

The restaurant has a good location, a spacious floor, and a Hong Kong-style tea experience! There are as many types of food as there are in Hong Kong, and the number of people is limited so many of them can’t be eaten. Order Zuodi's signature curry beef brisket rice. In addition to Zuodi's delicious taste, it also has all the ingredients, and it's worth the price! I also want to pack a hot drink with my lunch, which is a very affordable price of 16 pounds. There is a large plate of beef brisket rice and hot milk tea, which is quite affordable in the UK! Another one is called Zuodian Yangzhou Fried Rice, which is strong and delicious! Not enough material! I have never had such a high-quality Cha Kee rice dish in Hong Kong! The employees are so diligent! I have done everything I can to do my best, and I have done my best in branding. Every one of them wore a Kowloon Ice Room tee and felt very comfortable. They also gave away red packets when they left, and they were a joy to eat from start to finish!

Food is always good haven’t had a bad dish from them yet . The ice coffee is really good also.

It is a nice place in Chinatown serving authentic Hong Kong street foods and drinks. It has improved a lot since my last visit. They even have one quid dish with orders of more than 50 quids.

Waited nearly an hour and that was my partner's order, brought the rest home, also a family walked and within 10 minutes were eating, won't done there again

The food portions and prices are reasonable. If you eat over 50 pounds, you can use 1 pound to add a dish. However, the taste is slightly salty. If it can be improved, it will be more satisfying to customers.

Just happened across this restaurant while ambling around, having decided that something Chinese for lunch might be nice. Noticed a few people queuing, which is usually a good sign, and so it was. The food was lovely, really tasty and generous portions. Would certainly visit again when back in Manchester.

Very traditional and authentic Hong Kong food. As a Hong Konger, I am impressed by them serving a drink that is very authentic and even difficult to find in Hong Kong nowadays. The pricing is fair for the UK and the food portions are great.

Food and service are both excellent. Highly recommended. Hong Kong's human touch, friendly hospitality and high standard of food. Milk tea and lemon tea are must-try. Personally, I like the pickled fish, stir-fried beef river and curry beef brisket. I was very excited to see the salt-and-pepper bone cooked in the quarantine station. I will try it next time.
