The Golden Bowl in Rotherham

We order from here most nights, it’s absolutely amazing, they take our order and say it will be around 30-40 minutes, we accept this reasonable time, and some how it comes early most of times. The food is always cooked to standard, and tastes really nice, this is by far the best Chinese I have ever had, well done Golden Bowl 🍲

I will never order from this disgraceful Chinese again, my family waited over an hour and a half and called the Chinese to ask where the food was, they thought it was a collection said they would be 5 minutes..... they brought me the food that had been sat their all that time, I called back asked for my money back they brought it back for me and asked for the food back, was happy to give it back, scumbags !!!

Awful. Feel myst say how bad here is and this is proven by a recent food inspection and scoring even worse at one. The food is terrible, was ill from eating here and would not recommend. Stood and watched chilled and frozen food unloaded from a blue car, where is the temperature compliance there! This place needs shutting down

we ordered our food at 7pm it was for 5 people,we were informed to deliver an hour to collect 40 minutes so we opted for delivery. after 70 minutes had gone by i was told it would be another 30 minutes! after a further 45minutes we were informed it was out on delivery it arrived 15 minutes later. There was no apologies or reason why it taken so long; when it did arrive the food was rubbish never again willi use the golden bowl

Excellent food, MIL says this is the best Chinese chicken curry she has ever had! All other dishes were brilliant too. Food came faster than expected and was piping hot too. Will def be using again in future!

Food was available for collection within 5 minutes of ordering, which raises a question over whether my food was 'freshly made to order'. Crispy chilli chicken was extremely dry - definitely more 'crispy' than 'chicken'. Beef satay consisted of quite lean - but very chewy - beef in a fairly runny emulsion of oil and uneventful sauce.

Reasonably priced and really tasty food, best chinese in the area.

We order from here most weekends and fine it great value for money and the delivery time is great! Fastest time they have delivered to us is 10 minutes which is fab! Definitely recommend

From ordering to delivering it took 15 minutes to get here, which doesn't seem long enough to cook it properly to me. We think the food has been sat a while and then heated up. My chicken balls and rice were dry, and the prawn crackers were far too dry and hard. The chicken and mushrooms we ordered was also bland. Not worth the money. Won't be back.

Delivered really quick So I thought it wasn't going to be that nice but it was piping hot and tasted lovely this time round really nice tasty food had crispy shredded chicken for the first time and it was lush thank you 😊

I've ordered from here before and all well however tonight wasn't up to scratch The crispy beef was so over cooked it wasn't edible and we threw it, order was late and we didn't even get prawn crackers hope it's a one off bad night

Rare that I ever review but genuinely feel the need. Didn't really want to give 1*. I was shocked when within 8 minutes of ordering it was 'en route' and i totally understood when it was delivered. Felt like we had been delivered someone's left overs from the day before. Salt and pepper chips were freezing, black, had been re-cooked and were completely in-edible (I eat almost anything). We had spent £20+ and the rest of the food was the same (chicken, curry, ribs etc). I'm disappointed as was recommended by a friend but I have no idea how or why the reviews are so high!?! I certainly won't recommend or order from here again. Really disappointed. Although delivery time was exceptional! ..... not always the best thing. I'd have rather waited and had fresh food.

The mixed starter isn't worth the money, I forgot! Spare rib was just a strip of dried out bone with no sauce, or meat. Sweet & sour chicken was ok though.

I had the lobster and prawn cocktail and yes it was very nice, small portions and drinks are very expensive for 3 drinks it came to £18.20 and 2 of those was larger the other a fruit cider

Very unimpressed. The food was early, which was the only slight positive. They forgot one of my dishes, I called to ask for delivery or refund. They explained I would have to come get the money or the food as they only had one delivery guy on and if I wanted the food they would send it me the following day! The food itself wasn't great. Chewy prawn crackers and my salt and pepper prawns were not salt and pepper just pure garlic. I like garlic but that was ridiculous. WILL NOT RETURN.

Hello Golden Bowl it has come to my attention you forgot our sweet and sour sauce and there was no salt and pepper on the chips sorry if I seem erratic just freaking out.

Well I placed my order at 9.55. Unfortunately I noticed I had accidently selected chicken wings instead of prawn toast. Noticed immediately and rang within 5 mins of my order. Was told my meal was already cooked and that they could not change it and they would not cook what I wanted as they wanted to close early tonight. Poor customer service really. Usually I'd be very pleased to hear my food would be on it's way within 10 mins of ordering, although it's slightly worrying they can cook it in that time. Poor attitude from the receptionist. No indication that the takeaway would be closing early online. Yes it was my fault I didn't double check my order but im sure it's happened before and takeaways have made an effort to make customers happy.

We requested delivery for 18:30 and it came at 18:00. We ordered once before and the food was fantastic. This time the food was stale, the prawn crackers were chewy. Very disappointed

We always order from here, however last night our meal wasn't great. Had special curry which was really plain and no taste. Also had pork which tasted like it had been warmed up in microwave, as parts was warm, cold then red hot, I'm pregnant so I left most of it. Spent 21 quid and received nothing complimentary, I thought you received spring rolls but must be wrong. Also the chicken soup wasn't red hot, again worrying when I'm pregnant. Disappointed, and we normally enjoy from here.

Delivery was earlier than expected which is always nice when you're hungry, food arrived piping hot and tasted amazing. Can highly recommend the Crispy Pork Szechuan Style and Sweet & Sour Chicken Hong Kong Style.
