Dragon City in Rotherham

Not my usual Chinese takeaway but gave it a try on Monday night. Very impressed with the service and delighted with my King Prawn Cashew and fried rice with complementary prawn crackers. Will definitely go back.

This has to be the best Chinese takeaway in Rotherham. Never had a disappointing dish. Staff are absolutely lovely and food is always delivered quickly.

Ordered food at 9.15. Booking came with advised delivery 9.57 on email. Food turned up 10.45. Shredded beef looks like it was ready at 9.57 and they left it in for another 45 minutes. Previously orders have been good this was dreadful service and food.

Everything spot on mainly special curry

Usually really nice food from here but just received my order spending over 30 pound and iv got an extra portion of rice but no chips what I ordered. If I wanted 2 portions of rice and not chips I’d have asked for that. I’d have rather you just said no chips at min and not paid for them and got an extra rice that I don’t need. Also portion sizes seem smaller than usual

The best chinese around by far. Food used to reasonable value (with discount for ordering on the app) but in the last 18 months, they've started taking the mick with prices, food is now stupidly and unjustifiably expensive. We order much less than we used to due to this, and as soon as a decent alternative becomes available, we'll likely order elsewhere immediately. Can only imagine they're shooting themselves in the foot long term with this one. Reduce your prices, they're a joke.

Food always comes in good time and always soooo delicious, the ladies that answer the phone are always so polite and helpful, only local Chinese we use for treat night!!

Food was good but incorrect I ordered chicken curry and got a special curry with prawn and beef in, also ordered rice and noodles and got chips instead was too late to take back as had a appointment to go too

Tried for the first time today and the food was inedible! The chow menu smelt like urine and the fried rice was hard and uncooked. A Chinese take away that can’t cook rice! Absolutely terrible!

This place used to be quality. Last 3 orders spread over a few months have been appalling but gave them a chance again. 1 hour and 15 mins to arrive tonight. Food was barely warm. We got a king prawn curry with 4 prawns in which let it down as it was a nice curry… got salt and pepper chicken but the tub was light, not much in there for over £7. It was then bone dry and you couldn’t taste the salt and pepper at all, even with the seasoning. It just wasn’t nice at all. Even the prawn crackers were a joke. They tasted weird and the texture of them were terrible, like they’d been left out in air for 2 days. This place was easily 5 stars a year or two back and we’ve ordered from here for years. No idea if it’s changed hands but the quality of food now is dreadful, portion sizes are smaller whilst prices keep rising. Most of it was in the bin after 10 minutes. If I knew you could add photos to reviews I’d of taken some, cos you had to see it to believe it. Unfortunately there’s not many good alternatives to this one in the area either. Hope the review gets seen and read cos they’ve got some major improvements to make.

Decent Chinese take away not worst not best

Been looking for a decent Chinese takeaway and I think I have found my new favourite place to go to. Food is fresh, tasty, you get plenty of it!

Utterly rubbish food, the service is very bad especially the lady who takes the order. Will not recommend to anyone.

I'm only giving it 2 Stars, as this isn't the first time they've forgotten to put my order through, and after waiting over an hour and 40 minutes, it's "just left with the delivery driver"????? (Meaning they forgot to put it through) just doesn't really cut it for me 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Usually useDynasty in town but thought we’d try somewhere nearer to us. Certainly not disappointed - wantons, sweet & sour chicken, chicken chow mein, and curry sauce were all lovely. Delivery was really quick too. Won’t be our only order. Very pleased.

Great food and you get loads to share

l have used this takeaway for mañy years but tonight was the worst meal l have had, normally the chip are crisp and dry and better than a fish shop but tonight they were like tesco cheap brand and greasy and the prawn sweet and sour batter was also greasy and not crisp not good l do hope this is a one off.

Normally fabulous service, good food, but tonight.... RIDICULOUS, excuses. 45 min delivery time is normal. 45 mins delivery time and 2hrs later is not normal Cancelled my order and won't be using them again .

I odded my food at 18.15 and got my food by 18.30 it was really nice really happy with my service.

After all the festive food and drink and brilliant company. We decided to order a take away just to relax and chill together as a couple . Was not dissapointed the food perfect The lady who took the order was attentive and had a excellent phone manner. The delivery driver was polite and smart in appearence. Perfect way to round off christmas

Third time ordering here and food is delicious. Deffo mine and my partners fave and regular now! My heart sank when we got our order and wasn’t what was expected and some items missing. I’m never one to complain but my partner phoned and said what the problem was to the lady on reception. As the item we ordered wasn’t cheap. She was absolutely wonderful! She rang back asking for more details. And sent out the missing items and more! So refreshing to have care around customer service as it’s rarely seen these days especially in takeaway services. I really want to give a big thanks to the lady who helped. As they are few and far between. And will definitely keep our custom and I will spread the word of how great they are. I work nights in hospital so some big orders will be coming up! Really do recommend!

Everything was fine except from the cucumbers I was given along with my duck,I expected better for £40!!!

Not what i would call the best but convenient.

Ordered this evening, food took no longer than half hour to come and piping hot. The salt and pepper chips are the best I’ve tasted! Everything was lovely and we even got a free spring roll and some prawn crackers! Thankyou! Can’t wait to order again!!

Order the Thai red curry and it had none of the flavours of a Thai. It was basically a standard Chinese curry. I don’t know whats so hard to make a thai curry they only have to use a Thai curry paste with coconut milk. If you can’t make Thai food take it off the menu. The special fried rice only found 1 small prawn in it. Also the Chinese chicken curry we ordered was very bland too. Previous reviews rate this place 4-5 stars well that was over 2 years ago and recently this take away is now under new management. Better Chinese takeaway across the road. Avoid Dragon city takeaway will never be ordering from here again.

Dragon city is the best Chinese restaurant ever!!!!!! The food is so delicious and amazing. I like it very much. It is open for more than 20 years,unbelievable!

Really nice food, been here on a number of occasions and enjoyed it, however they don’t take card payment which for anyone living in the the 21st century it can be frustrating. As a result I had to drive to the local Asda to withdraw cash and therefore my food was cold by the time I’d got back. (Cash machine at the post office wasn’t in service)

Always go here for Chinese the food is very good and if you can't get out they deliver

Ordered then they added a extra 25 mins on it, I left a note on my order for no veg, they didn't listen it came with it, egg fried rice was bland and tasteless, the duck tasted like it had been microwaved so tasted burnt won't order from there again

Placed a order at 18:43, it "left the shop" at 20:04, still didn't arrive until 20:34, little bit cold, and it's only round the corner.

The meat on the ribs was to dry and over cooked

Great food. We only get food on Friday or Saturday from here but recently went on s Thursday. The food was still great but the woman that took our order wasn't as friendly and forgot to pass out order to the cook. We waited 20 mins for food and got home with the wrong order. I am vegetarian and ended up with a chicken meal rather than a mushroom one.

I don't normally like Chinese food as it's normally bland and tasteless, I much prefer Indian as I like spicy flavorful food but my wife prefers chinese, so I usually dread it when it's her turn to pick the food, that was until we found Dragon city, the food is full of flavour and delicious and when you pick food with a different name from the menu it tastes different to all the others unlike some chinese's which all taste the same whatever dish you order. Dragon City also do some spicy dishes, I ask them to spice mine up and they do, so now I enjoy Chinese night as much as Indian, in fact it was my pick tonight and I actually CHOSE to get a Chinese, high praise indeed from me. Some places also pad out the meals with cheap ingredients like green peppers and onions but not here, you actually get meat and different vegetables (depending on the dish) I love the food from here.

Superb food, really tasty unlike a lot a lot of Chinese restaurants which are bland. Different dishes actually taste differently to the other dishes, not all the same like some places.

We ordered as a party of 4, we calculated the bill based on the menu on the Dragon City website only to find the price was £7 more once it arrived. When we questioned this the delivery driver told us that we must have used an old menu. We phoned the shop hoping to solve the matter and were told to send the food back as they would not honor the prices they have displayed on their website- knowingly! It seems they know their website is outdated but choose to dupe people into paying more once the food arrives at your door- check the total price at the time of ordering. Very disappointed at the very poor customer service and misleading website. Will not use again
