Well looks like we won't be eatting here ever phoned to book a table for four people and wanted me to make payment over to reserve the table which I've never heard off for such a small amount of people. Was rude told oh the price is going to more than what it is now but couldn't tell me the price when wasn't ever asking about cost just wanted to book a table. Rude telephone manner. Looks like I'll take my custom elsewhere.

So glad I found this place, one of the best Chinese food we’ve had for a while! Freshly cooked tasty food, extremely good value for money. Owner was very kind and helpful. Would definitely recommend and return.

Regular takeaway (delivery) customer for years, (at least one a month), have noticed a definite decrease in quality across the dishes and wrong dishes turning up, to be fair they usually correct them following a call but one of us will be waiting for the correct dish while the other person eats, which is frustrating. Second to last order two of dishes were replaced with less expensive options but couldn’t get through to get them replaced. The last order I explained what happened and they did nothing to apologise and the quality was poor so we’ve found another takeaway to use instead.

The food quantity is pretty bad, and so is the flavour. The fried rice was very mediocre, and the noodles had zero flavour. The saving grace was the black bean beef.

I rang asking if I could have a set meal, but could I swap pork balls, for chicken balls. I was told, ‘we don’t do swaps’, then the phone line ended! Atrocious service….

Take-away was not great (it used to be really good). Sticky, stodgy egg fried rice. What there was of the beef, was watery and bland, in the now, mushrooms with beef. The sweet and sour chicken "Hong Kong style" was virtually devoid of the veg element. The barbeque spare ribs were the only highlight of the order - delish!!. I can't believe it was worse than the last time, which I though was a fluke, apparently not!!! Such a shame. Seems to be ALL about saving money on materials...

On the evening before our holiday to Disneyland Paris we had a meal at the New Moonflower restaurant!! What a fantastic time!!!! The service was amazing! The food was out of this world!! Best prawn toast I've ever had!! Everything was delicious tasty and brought to our table by a lovely friendly lady!! She was such a breath of fresh air in the dining arena!! If we could, she'd be coming on holiday with us!! Definitely recommend the New Moonflower! 🤗

Third or fourth time here. Great food, all you can eat and excellent quality. Staff are fun and very attentive. Made to feel welcome Do not miss out, book in advance and come on down.

Food was quite nice but whole experience ruined by watching the owner treat her staff so rudely. I praise anyone that manages to work for that nasty piece of work. The restaurant is grim looking with very little atmosphere with staff trying their best to please you, and their manager. Really sad to watch. I will not return here all the while she's in there.

Five of us went for the all you can eat buffet. Ordered off the menu. Food is good quality and lots of it. Lady who served us was fun and there was a fair bit of banter and mild mickey taking which made the evening for us blokes down in Dover on business. Will definitely return.

Our past visits as a couple were alright despite slow service, mainly because the food was good. But my 30th birthday bash with twelve pals turned out to be a total mess. The seating was awkward with two tables joined, making it hard to chat. Then, the manager barged in, physically pushing us aside and hurling insults. The food service was a disaster too, like we were eating in different time zones. And when the bill came, we fought back against the overcharge. This place isn't just bad at food, it's a mess of rude staff and chaos. Save yourself the trouble and avoid it like the plague.

Our previous visits as a couple were bearable despite the snail-paced service, all thanks to the decent food. But my 30th birthday bash with twelve guests turned out to be a complete nightmare. Right from the start, the seating arrangement was a joke, like something out of a failed circus act. The pièce de résistance, however, came in the form of the manager's entrance, like a bull in a china shop, physically displacing me and my cousin to perch herself at our table. What followed was a grotesque display of unprofessionalism, as she proceeded to dish out physical and verbal abuse, culminating in a slapstick routine of insults and actual slapping. To add insult to injury, the food service was a comedy of errors, with our party treated as though we were dining on separate continents. We arrived at 19:30 and placed orders by 19:45, the starters didn’t start coming out until 21:20. While one table feasted like royalty, the other languished in starvation, forced to watch in silent agony as our friends finished their starters. The main course arrived late, only to be met with the manager's audacious demand for us to hurry up because the kitchen was closing. And when the bill came, it was the ultimate insult. We refused to pay the full amount, settling for a fraction in protest. If our group wasn't so large, we would have walked out without paying a single penny. In short, this place is not just a culinary disaster, it's a circus of incompetence and disrespect. Save yourself the trouble and avoid it like the plague because the manager has all the grace of a reversing dump truck with no tyres.

This place provides Not just good food, but bloody good authentic Chinese dishes. Being able to have the table for as long as you want, without being made to move in for next customers. This is something that's made the experience even better. The owner is an exception to the rule and goes that extra mile to accommodate you. Not only is she funny she runs the place with her unique mannerisms. She is like marmite, "either don't like or like" and I absolutely love her charm. I'll be back soon that's for sure, even if its for her hospitality and wassarbi alone. 爱你很久了

Fantastic Chinese restaurant in the heart of Dover ! This is best Chinese restaurant in the area by far the food is amazing, authentic , delicious flavours in every dish and plenty of it ! Excellent price for an all u can eat buffet , food off the menu comes hot and never disappoints ! Would definitely recommend a meal at this restaurant … it’s excellent !! 👍

Extremely disappointing! Been using them for several years, used to be my favourite Chinese in town. In last 3 years went completely downhill. Every time we order, we are extremely disappointed. Haven't ordered for a while, so thought we try tonight. Wrong food sent again, happens every time in last few years, food nowhere near the quality as it used to be, cold, and never delivered at the specified times. And the only way to contact them to rectify it is to call, which I can't do due to disabilities, no way to sent them message otherwise. Shame, and this time we didn't even get what we paid for, they sent cheaper priced items, that I can't even eat, so we paid more, but got cheap things instead. No attention to detail at all. Was the last time we ever order.

I went to order a takeaway ( large order for a party of 12) but the lady on the end of the phone was so so rude , I don't know if she is the owner or an employee...but if I spoke to my customers like that I wouldn't have a business left , I have to give 1 star ...if there was 0 , I would give it , But on the good side of things the food is ok .

Visited this restaurant on valentines day. Arrived at 12.10. Doors closed. Google states open at 12. The rain was extremely heavy but we continued to wait incase they was running late. My husband caught the eye of a lady he see inside. He said why are you not open, she said sorry closed until 6. Must admit at that point we was pissed off, we had travelled a fair distance. My husband politely said "maybe you should update your Google page as it states 12 and it's not fair on people travelling to find it closed" she replied "hold on a moment" she was gone for about 3 minutes, which felt like an hr as we was soaked. She returned and unlocked the door this time and kindly invited us in. She asked the chef if he would cook for us, to which he did. So we had a restaurant all to ourselves. The lady introduced herself, her name was Fun! She certainly was fun. Don't mistake her Eastend Manor for rudeness because she certainly isn't rude, she's funny & entertaining. We got a free glass of bubbles, then went on to order food. All I can say is we wasn't disappointed. It was hot, fresh and tasty. Definitely recommended the salt n chilli prawns! I live in London and the food, atmosphere and service is worth the journey! The staff here are great and there is some amazing laughs and banter to be had with the owner. It’s great value for a freshly cooked to order buffet too, all the food is piping hot and fresh and if you need any slight adjustments to your dish they’ll do their best to accommodate. If you want some great food and great laughs at an amazing price point, head on down.

Well, my Chinese takeaway experience was simply fantastic. Who doesn't love a surprise addition of plastic in their food? And forget sweet and sour chicken balls; they upgraded me to the gourmet sweet and sour rubber pork balls. It's like they have a sixth sense for my culinary preferences. Kudos for the unexpected adventure, and I can’t wait to leaning over the toilet for the rest of the night. Oh and forget about any decent customer service.

Awful takeout. Noodles had an odd taste and a lot were uncooked. The egg fried rice had no egg and was a grey sludge. The chicken satay was so salty as to be inedible. I won't be going back. All ended up in the bin.n

Came here today with my family and it was brilliant. The food was delicious the price was really good and the service was Fun! I highly recommend this restaurant and will return. Thank you for a lovely lunch (mouthy)

The staff were very friendly. However the food was OK some of it was a bit bland. The biggest criticism was the duck & pancakes put more spring onions and sauce enough for four people, the amount you put out was not enough for one.

Went here as a birthday treat, and although it's not the most posh looking restaurant, the staff were friendly and attentive, the choice of foods was great and the quality of the food is top quality and fresh. I can't praise them enough.

I use to love the Moonflower and was contemplating going to the restaurant but thought I would try a takeaway first as I haven’t had a meal from there in a long time, I have to say I am really disappointed. Rice, chicken and satay chicken all under cooked, and the chow mein was greasy. A waste of money and such a shame!

Shocking customer service Women on phone so rude taking order. To begin with I thought may have been signal but she very abruptly said she had a cold!! Most awkward order process ever!

Seen a couple of bad recent reviews on here, but I wasn’t put off and we gave it a try. Got to be up there with one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve been too, staff were very friendly and the food was incredible, £25 per person all you can eat, cooked fresh to order, tick what you would like and it’s brought out and you can just keep ordering. If I’m back in the area again I’ll definitely be returning 👍👍

Having eaten at this restaurant many times over the last 20 odd years with it being a firm favourite, I was so disappointed with the appalling service and food we had for my sons 13th birthday meal out tonight. The guy that I assume used to run it was always so friendly and cheerful. The red flag was when I initially booked the table. The woman on the phone who took our booking was rude. When we arrived, it was the same woman who was then dismissive and abrupt. She asked how old my daughter was, I told her 8, she said that she would usually charge adult rate for an 8 year old, which I had no problem with. She then proceeded to go on about her age very aggressively saying on this occasion she will only charge half price for my daughter. I thanked her but if I'm honest I was happy to pay the full price if it had meant not having to go through her huffing and puffing and the awkward conversation. We were pointed to our table and given a tick list to choose our dishes from. We were then shouted at when we'd chosen to have our starters and mains all together. By which time my kids were look at me in disbelief and my other half was starting to get annoyed at the sheer lack of customer service. Once our food arrived a police officer walked in and the woman started having a heated conversation very loudly with the officer. It was escalating and I had to say please tone it down we're trying to eat in peace. The officer was extremely apologetic. The food was barely edible, the rice was rock hard, it just tasted nasty and the kids who normally love Chinese food barely touched it. The waitress carried on being curt and unhelpful and at that point we'd all had enough and we went to politely speak to her about the food and lack of service. There was no apology she even walked off as we were talking to her. We ended up paying for the adults and drinks but when then it wasn't worth the £55 spent. Won't be returning and wouldn't recommend. They need to have a serious think about their comms and engagement. Enough to scare customers away.

Horrible horrible food Noodles tasted stale and like cardboard and the chicken had a dodgy after taste… stopped eating after 2 bites Dunno if they using old food or what but I would stay well away

She wasn't open but let us in 45 mins early she was very pleasant and very funny made us feel very welcome food was absolutely amazing especially the salt and pepper prawns would def recommend and we certainly be going back there on a regular basis

What an evening. My wife and I came here with four friends tonight to celebrate her 30th birthday and the owner, FUN, was hilarious, cheeky, and made our evening super special. I just think all the reviews on here saying she is unfriendly haven't got to know her that well! When you deal with some of the locals of Dover, you tend to be a bit blunt! Lovely food, came away absolutely stuffed. We will definitely be back - HIGHLY recommended. Dave the Dyson Three times here so far, never a bad meal.

The food is amazing at the Archer as it always has been. We did over order and as a result expected to pay for what we hadn’t eaten but the attitude of the waitress was unecessary and very rude. We were told we couldn’t have the bill until we finished eating! We did pay for what we hadn’t eaten without a problem (kids with eyes bigger than their bellies!) but don’t expect unprofessional, rude waiting staff who eat themselves whilst serving! It’s def put us off returning!!

We arrived at the New Moon Flower early evening. There was a small family group dining otherwise it was empty. We waited to be seated and a lady approached us. We had not booked and asked for a table for two and the a la carte menu. The lady was very rude and said *Sit there* pointing to a table in a corner under a loudspeaker blaring out music and walked off with another couple who walked in behind us. We sat at the table unable to hear ourselves speak while the lady tended to the other couple. The lady was very rude and the service very poor so we left

We celebrated our anniversary and had all you can eat (freshly cooked dishes) buffet. All dishes perfect in size. If you leave a dish you pay for that dish (policy). Really tasty food and cheeky friendly service

We always have food from here whenever we are in Dover whilst waiting for our ferry to the continent. Always delicious, plenty of choice and big portions just what you need after travelling from Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The owners and staff are very friendly too.

Quite a different experience, we felt very bullied when ordering, we knew what we wanted and how much but we certainly didn't get the quantity we wanted. Lady taking the orders was quite a character, even sat down with us at when point which was a bit awkward. Also no serving utensils in sight!

Went here for a change from having a takeaway. The food was excellent, served in reasonable portions and nice and hot. It is a buffet so you can choose multiple options to have a nice mix. Service was good and they made sure you had enough to drink whilst eating. Not overly priced and will return again in the future.

Unfortunately this was very disappointing…… On arriving being read the riot act any food not eaten will be charged at full rate but to be honest if the food was palatable , tasty or even enjoyable this wouldn’t have been an effort !! And at £28 odd because of being Dec it’s extortion!! The fact that people are struggling even more so at Christmas oh yes let’s up the price !!! Would not recommend and I will not be returning!!

Take away last night absolutely disgusting. Fried rice was more like soggy boiled rice. Curry was not a curry disgusting. Cantonese beef was also horrible. In fact the whole meal was disgusting. Never again would I eat anything from there!

Orderd a meal for delivery . Overdue a special chow mein did not receive also ordered a extra bag of prawn crackers . Was charged for both but never received and the person repeated the order as well . When we rang and said did not receive them she said they were not ordered. But when I worked out the prices we were charged for booth . Will not be ordering from there again .

Phoned up to book a table. The young girl was incredibly rude over the phone, I had bad signal and was trying to ask her if it was ‘all you can eat’ and she kept trying to ask what time I wanted to book for, so I asked ‘can you hear me’ and she said ‘not really, you keep speaking to someone else’. ??? Said goodbye before I was even finished. Blunt and no customer service whatsoever. Luckily, she didn’t serve us when we got there, her parents (I assume) were doing all the work while she stood around chatting & generally being useless. Service once we were there was 10/10 and so was the food - if it wasn’t I would be rating 1 star for how horrible the girl was on the phone :)

Eat in is superb here! Really fresh and great service. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Cannot rave about it enough, first time at a Chinese buffet like this and I don't think I'll go anywhere else now. The takeaway service however I wouldn't really go for. Ordered before and food was pretty tastless and not of great quality. If you want to eat at New Moon Flower, definitely sit in and enjoy!
