Crystal Garden Chinese Takeaway in Dover

ordered for first time last night food was delicious arrived on time and good prices would definitely recommend and will be ordering next time I want Chinese food.

We’ve had a couple of takeaways from Crystal Garden recently, the last one was for 7 people on a Saturday evening. Ordered online, the food arrived promptly and everything was delicious. It worked out at £14 a head which we thought was very reasonable as there was a huge amount of food (not all was eaten on the day). Everyone enjoyed it, we’ll be ordering again soon.

My son ordered £36 worth of food as his son started to eat his their was a plaster in his food with blood on tried ringing that evening an next day no answer therefore the whole lot went in bin won't be using you again disgusting especially as you ignored phone calls very angry

Waited an hour for our food was rude to me on the phone not good at all

I always order from Crystal Gardens if I want a chinese and they are usually really good, but on this occassion, I was very disappointed. I ordered chips in barbeque sauce, barbequed ribs in sauce and a pancake roll. The food was cold when it arrived and, even though there was plenty of sauce, there was no way it was barbeque flavoured. It was very dark, thick and tasted more like Hoi Sin sauce. Think I will stick to more traditional dishes in future.

Food portions: very small however ordered large. Very dated. All plastic! Would not recommend. Food: alright. Thank you

Ordered a delivery tonight treat the family instead of cooking wish I never bothered.turned up late,food tasted awful .no flavour to the foo yung my daughter said her sesame chicken looked very pink inside won’t be using them again

Selected a 2115 delivery and had a 2055 delivery which totally blew my plan out the water. I won’t be using again, back to Top Wok I go.

First time I’ve tried Crystal Garden. Ordered via their easy to use website, the food delivered quicker than expected. Very friendly delivery driver. The food was lovely and hot and the portions were very generous. As for the taste? Well I’ve lived in several different places around London and Kent and had a lot of different Chinese takeaways but this was easily the best. Gorgeous Szechuan Chicken! Thanks will be making this my regular 😁

Just a warning, do not use their online ordering system. They take your money and say they never received payment. I paid, £20.60 from my account, proved I paid via my banking app, they still didn’t deliver or refund the money and were rude over the telephone. I’d rather go hungry than use this place again. If I could give zero stars, it would receive all day long. ZERO STARS. Maybe a report to trading standards, not that £20 is the end of the world, just the principle of it all combined with their stinking attitude. If you are stupid enough to order, please pay cash.

Will never use again have waited over 2 and half hours for take away which should have been 1 hour . Everyttime I rang came up with another excuse . Ruined a evening with friend s . Would expect full refund for such bad service but offered 10% of next order. If they had told me was going to take this long would have picked up

Can only assume the restaurant was busy so food took a little longer than expected HOWEVER the food was lovely and hot, cooked fresh, crispy and absolutely delicious. Can easily say that it was the best Chinese takeaway I’ve had

Staying in the area and ordered for delivery last night, website stated delivery would be 45-60 minutes but it turned up within 25 which was great! The food was absolutely amazing, we had roast chicken Chinese style, chips, curry sauce, chicken chow mein and shredded chilli beef. The prawn crackers were also amazing and not greasy! Will definitely order again when visiting the area!

This is my local Chinese takeaway shop and never a doubt it’s one of the best . Always polite and quick service . Have had few issues but they sorted it out just like that lady at desk was very helpful and credit it back as refund.

Excellent food and super quick delivery 👍🏻 will definitely be ordering from here again. would recommend the Singapore chow mein

I can see reviews are mixed for this place but my partner and I have ordered from here about a dozen times now and the experience has been consistently good. There's a decent selection of vegetarian dishes- my partner recommends the satay 'chicken'- and although their prices have increased in line with pretty much every other takeaway they don't skimp on quality or quantity.

I ordered chicken curry and chicken chow mein. I have cooked chicken in many different ways over the years but have never saw so called shredded chicken taste spongy and also very jelly like texture in some pieces. If there is some special process they use to cook chicken I think they should let the customers know exactly why the chicken looks and tastes nothing like chicken. A waste of money and went in the bin

Completely wrong dishes, tried to blame us. Please look else where there must be better Chinese takeaways in Deal. Disgruntled and hungry camper 😡

Wouldn’t bother Just spent £73 pound and didn’t get what we ordered. When I complained they tried to blame us for not ordering probably. Really wouldn’t waste my money

This was not good food very very bad. Our regular spot was closed so I went on the amount of stars this place gets. Hmmm nope this was a big mistake. Positive first: •ordering via website works very well. • Prawn crackers were very good. •Delivery was in time and the delivery guy was very nice. •Food was hot temperature. Negative; •There was no choice between large or normal so I thought for the amount of money I had to pay the portions would have been bigger. •The food was tasteles and bland and for example chicken sate was watery. •The pork did not taste nor look like pork I don't know what it was but not pork. • The soup and curry were also very tasteless and both had a very snotty structure. And we orderd the these pasties with meat the pastrie was very hard overcooked and just not edible. This is not a place we will be ordering from again. Just very bad food.

Lovely food, Shame they didn't deliver the correct sauce I ordered (sweet n sour) they delivered BBQ , unfortunately no one likes BBQ sauce & we didn't want to wait for another one to be delivered. Also it was delivered 30 mins earlier than I asked for.

Ordered meal to be delivered at 7.20 turned up at 6,I ordered a curry and egg fried rice,curry was nothing like the normal Chinese curry tasted like flour and water with a bit of curry powder,partner had king prawn sweet and sour,sauce was like warm jam,prawns hard,won't buy again

Great service, prompt and efficient. Good food at a reasonable price. One of the best I've found.

We get Chinese from here all the time, spend in excess off £50 on every order, food is amazing but please do not argue when you get the order wrong

Truly the most disgusting delivery we have every received. I ordered the crispy seaweed which states vegetarian on their menu and it arrived covered in dried fish seasoning, I phoned to explain that this is obviously not vegetarian and she told me to simply ‘remove the fish’. This is the worst customer service I have ever received, a company that has such a blatant disregard for appropriate preparation of their meals is a company that I will certainly never be using again and should quite frankly be shut down. As for the other ‘food’ delivered, it’s simply the most vile and tasteless food to have ever been created. This ‘Chinese takeaway’ has put me off Chinese for life.

Recommended this place by a friend. I must say as soon as I heard they did tofu. I was keen, to try this place. As i love tofu and i'am always complaining that more restaurants/take-a-ways don't have it on the menu. Honestly, I was spoilt for choice. So many tofu dishes, I will have to keep coming back to try them all. Plus, there was plenty of meat options. To keep the meat eaters happy. Quick delivery, website was easy to order from. Plus, affordable. What's not to love? Will definitely be coming again

We ordered four or five dishes and all were very good . Would order from them again if In the area .

Absolutely shambolic service. Ordered on line for a 45 minute delivery. Called after 1hr to be told another 25 minutes. Received a call saying I had given the wrong postcode so the driver couldn't find me. Called after another 15 minutes to be to be told the driver would be 2 minutes. 10 minutes later and he's still not here

The food here is always outstanding. The Dim Sum, chicken satay, special fried rice are all excellent. I would never use anywhere else.

Tonight's offering was abysmal. Extremely poor quality ingredients, watery rubbish. All money no quality. Steer clear, I am so disappointed. I couldn't eat any of the food and it was thrown away as it was that bad. Tasted like they are using old cooking oil. Don't risk it.

Cracking food. Especially for a new person from London. Would recommend. Also a friend has amazing quick delivery to the local pub. Great service

First time using Crystal Gardens and am sad to say it was very disappointing. The food was very greasy . I had crispy beef and it tasted strongly of ketchup and was not good. My partner had Hong Kong prawns and the sauce was very vinegary and thin . We didn’t eat the meal as it was just not good .

Very popular family run Chinese takeaway. Good service from pleasant staff. Usual wide range of good tasting Chinese food. Parking on road close by.

Great. Frindly. Just where we feel good to go to. Go and see for yourself. Bet you will like it. It is in walmer so not far from dover and us of course. Near by are pubs and not far to deal.

Good Chinese food. Nothing out of the ordinary but consistent quality at a reasonable price. I have been using this place for years and have never been disappointed.

I have lived in Deal for 15 years and regularly used the Crystal Garden it's so good I used it for a significant birthday celebration. Staff very helpful. Food tasty.

I have been a customer for many years, but for some reason the food has gone downhill in the past few months. Don’t know whether this is due to new ownership or lack of care and passion, but it needs to be addressed. I ordered beef chop suey and chicken balls a couple of weeks ago, but received chicken chop suey (undercooked) and beef balls instead. Also they advertise to be open until midnight but are closed just after 11:00pm. This is misleading and disappointing, please sort it out etc and get back to where you should be

Used crystal gardens for years allways been fab past 4 months its been awful no taste cold food and dishes are different from normal.will not use again

Have used this takeaway for a number of years.It was consistently good at delivery and quality....then about 6 weeks ago things seemed to change.My last few meals were extremely late and the standard was very poor.I asked the driver to pass on my concerns and was unable to tip for the first time ever.Tonight we were promised food in 45 mins and it was an hour and a half....again.The quality was awful..without doubt the worst Chinese meal I've ever been presented with..thirty quid mostly in the bin.Until these guys up their game I really wldnt bother....I certainly won't ever use it again..there are plenty of others to choose from in the town!

Good food (a bit salty) but charge you to use a debit card

Good food, good service, reasonable price. I thoroughly enjoyed my Cantonese sweet and sour king prawns. I had noodles with this and thoroughly overate. But it was an excellent take away. I will definitely buy there again. Highly recommended.

It seems to have gone downhill a bit. Asked for large portions of three items , got home to find small portions. And some were COLD. Yuk . Will try someone else for the next one.

Stumbled across this by accident, 15 mins turnaround time, food absolutely fantastic. Highly recommended.

Local to us and have used a few times recently , always busy ( a good sign ) I can vouch as excellent their Singapore noodles and Kung Po prawns , however I was surprised and disappointed at a charge of 50p for using a debt card ( the cost to them is 12/13p ) so I will make sure I have the cash next time !!

I often order from here when ordering from my friends house in Deal. The often deliver in the agreed times. Staff are always friendly. They rarely make mistakes and when they do they always put it right. Highly recommend this takeaway

The food is so awesome and the staff are really friendly and when you go in the shop they will speak to you. The divers are also very friendly food always gets here hot and within the time that they say.

Crystal Garden is always packed for a simple reason. The food is good and high quality. Chicken is breast, sweet and sour pork is meat with little fat, special fried rice perfect. Fortunately it's only 3 minutes walk from our front door and would recommend picking the food up as it's always piping hot and well presented.

The guy who answered the phone was friendly & really polite.. food arrived in 40 minutes as suggested. I got the small portions as id asked for. The food was hot and tasted great. The only item i was disappointed with was the mixed special balls. Chicken and prawn were good but the other meat in the balls couldnt be chewed... 3 jack russels however managed them! Id order again but avoid the mixed ball special... good service!

Very good food. Would definitely have take-out from there again. Prices were very reasonable, and portions were more than big enough. Spring rolls were particularly good, which for me is always a good sign.

I wouldn't go anywhere else in Walmer or Deal! Always happy with the food. Enjoy!

Consistently very good freshly made food can't fault the taste and quality from here. Does get very busy so expect to wait at peak times. Obviously doing something right as it's very popular.

Comida ordenados por mi cumpleaños 1 de marzo (calle a mediados de la semana) por 7 de nosotros esperamos más de una hora menos la mía! comida llegó ! Ellos llamó conductor incapaz de hacer mi comida, ya que estaba demasiado ocupado, así que sólo ofrece crédito para la próxima vez. Esta comida de la tarde precio pedimos vino pareció mal conductor de taxi muy inclinado a dejar. Llamé y me dijeron que el CG 2. 50! Era la cuota de los conductores de taxi y fue en su descretion! Branquias como bill era casi 20 libras, así que he pagado dos veces para entrega y original comida no fue entregada. Esta comida era algo que desear, el pato crujiente estaba lleno de espinas las gambas szechuan sólo salsa y bambú, pollo chow me seco y sin sabor. Lo siento pero no volveremos con un servicio así pérdida de dinero no feliz

Mi familia y yo hemos estado viniendo aquí durante años y se ha convertido en un ligero tradición venir aquí cada viernes por la noche que me venga a visitar. La comida y el servicio es bueno y estás rara vez dejaron esperando mas de 10 minutos. China fiable para llevar.

Temprano en la noche de Nochebuena. . Esperaba una espera. Pero cuando "45 Minutos" es doble que tienes que cuestionar la codicia de los propietarios sobre servicio al cliente. . La comida no era estupenda, ya que eran obviamente exagerada en la cocina

Never had a bad meal from this place, the food is delicious. There is quite often a queue and that tells you that it is so popular.

Absolute rubbish. Had bones in a duck chow mein, ribs were cold in the middle, they forgot the sweet and source sauce and sent it by driver 30 minutes later after we had finished eating and all for the sum of £25 They apologised and agreed we might try them again for a free meal, but repeat order resulted in a discussion about what was originally wrong and what they replace free. A complaint is a chance to put things right not re-negotiate the apology. Best in Deal at the moment is Lucious, delivery can be slow but the food is good.

Have visited many times and the quality of the food is always excellent. No matter what we have had, noodles, rice, chicken, pork, etc. everything has been enjoyed and is tasty without the greasy mess that some Chinese take-aways provide.

I've been using this take away for a number of years, it is usually a good service & nice food, but in recent times standards seem to have slipped & I've had a couple of meals that were not up to their previous high standards, I hope this is just a glitch due to staff holidays etc & they will return to their previous standards.

Take away Chinese is close to my home 10 years ago used to be excellent. However it has steadily gone down hill. Finished work late last night and was the only place open. Had set meal. Had to wait ages and the product I had was clearly reheated sauce was gloopy and tasteless chicken partly cooked. Avoid

Despite it's shabby shop front this takeaway offers remarkably good food. Average on price and produce food which is particular to them, a bit more 'home cooked' and from own recipe as opposed to the bought in 'mixes' which I believe many food 'Indian, Chinese' operations use these days. I live a couple of miles away and because I have chosen NOT to drive using this establishment isn't cost effective as a taxi would deliver making an average priced meal overly expensive, or am I just tight? Only 3/5 mainly due to it's shabby shop front. Similar to most food vendors of both Chinese, Indian and other varieties have a different work ethic to the British way, in that the above are so very hot on service, maybe not with a smile but very obliging.
