Top Wok Chinese Takeaway in Dover

I have to give an honest review. My wife and I ordered takeaway to be delivered .Mainly from the Thai dishes plus a few dishes from Chinese section. Tom yum soup was bland lacking in chilli, ginger and lemon grass, should be punchier on heat. Red curry special was again bland and mainly pork. chips were good and also the Steamed dim sum quite good though a satchel of Soy sauce would have elevated. Chinese large spring roll was soggy and bland needing fat more seasoning. Prawn toasts were greasey. Finally the delivery was really too slow, told 45 mins one and took a call to get it delivered in 1.5 hours.

Lovely selection of Chinese food and Thai curry. Always cooked fresh, hot and tasty. Very reasonably priced. Very good service.

WE CANCELLED ORDER AFTER PITIFUL EXPLANATION. SAID WHOULD PHONE BACK IMMEDIATELY. CSLKED BACK AFTER 25 MINS NO APOLOGY NO EXPLANATION. DISGUSTING SERVICE DISGUSTING ATTITUDE . POOR CONTACT . FINALLY ABLE TO CANCEL ORDER FOR REFUND. NO REFUND AT TOME OF CONTACT. SM IN PUBLIC SERVICE MYSELF IN MOTOR TRADE. 49 YEARS. IF I TREATED MY CUSTOMERS LIKE I WAS TREATED , I WOULD NOT HAVE ANY CUSTOMERS. DEAL CUSTOMER OF 20 + YEARS.

We ordered at 6.30 food arrived at 9pm honestly if they had told us this was the time frame we would have cancelled.....an absolute shambles will not be recommending to anyone

The staff, service and quality of food is consistently very good. They can face some delays as they are popular-but worth the wait! Dec '23 , still consistently enjoyable food, always very friendly staff and still matching competitors' pricing. Continue to be satisfied customers This is a take out facility only, so atmosphere is less than a dining restaurant.

Waited nearly two hours for delivery on a Wednesday night dread to think how long we would be waiting at the weekend

First time visit here, food and service was very good, loved the Singapore rice noodle.

Tasteless, bland, beige food. Waited almost 2 hours. Complained and got a very half-hearted apology. I agree with the other reviews on here and on Google. Very expensive - cheaper to eat out. 2nd time had this experience so never again.

Our normal Chinese restaurant was closed so we picked this one at random for a takeaway as we did not feel like cooking. The young lady that delivered it was lovely, but, for what we had it was overpriced. I took one look at mine it was grey and bland looking, tasted the same, my husband and son threw theirs away. We do enjoy a spring roll, they were awful, the Singapore string noodles are usually quite hot, these were mediocre, an experience to never have again!

First time I've used them. House special chop suey. Pieces of obviously previously frozen powdery meat. 6 minute prawns, 5 small pieces of carrot, no green veg, thin sauce, no sign of ginger or garlic. £6.30 wasted when I rarely treat my self 😞

I’m new to the area and have used Top Wok for a takeway three times recently and each meal has been very good. I’ve placed my order by phone each time for collection (so can’t rate their delivery service/expected delivery times etc) and have been given a collection time and it’s been ready for collection within minutes of going into the restaurant each time. On the 3 occasions, I’ve ordered different items from the menu and each dish has been consistently piping hot, good quality and tasty and I think the value for money for the quality of the food is very reasonable.

The food was good but the service was not however. The lad on the till seemed exceptionally busy. Perhaps more than 1 person taking orders and serving would help. I admit I was in a rush so hadn't done the math but trusted the shop had got it right. It was after we had eaten that I thought to check the bill. The difference was around 4.80. when I called back the lad on the till apologised but could only give me 10 percent off the next order ?? It was a £4.80 refund I was after. He wanted to send out the item that had been missed and take back the item he'd overcharged us for despite being told we had finished eating . Still only wanting to give a 10 percent off next order. Lesson to self .... make sure you know how much the order will be..........

It pains me to say it as we have tried here a few times but tonights offering was disgusting. No flavour, limp batter, extra charge for dips which were to be honest inedible. Last time for us sadly

Horrid although the seaweed was good . Prawn and pineapple overpowered with chicken flavouring . Could not taste Prawns or the pineapple .

I ordered from Top Wok on Saturday and the food was absolutely terrible. The chicken had god knows what hanging out of it and overall was very bland. The lemon chicken made me physically sick and the lemon sauce was like water and had a funny taste. Don’t even get me started on the chicken balls! Normally I don’t write reviews but our experience was so awful we couldn’t eat anything for two days. Even if my partner and I weren’t sick, I wouldn’t pay £40 to eat there again. Be warned!

The young man taking the telephone / face to face orders is polite, professional and never shows annoyance at difficult calls. The food is freshly cooked, hot and tastes amazing. A Chinese takeaway I highly recommend to everyone.

Years ago these were quite good over the years they have gone masiveley downhill , I keep bobbing back to see if they’ve got back to what they usto be only to be continuously dis@pointed , seriously got one tonight it was so over cooked prob old stuff warmed up , I got it on a Uber 50% discount deal off deal mabe thats why , nobody should serve utter crap like that , 90 % of it went in the bin I will try get my money back off them / Uber , to the owner who yousto deliver to me up your game mate serving crap will not do your business any good .

Very good takeaway good delivery service

The worst, most tasteless squid I've ever had. I couldn't finish it.

Certainly something we missed when we moved but as we were in town for another appointment we took advantage and bagged us a treat. Fresh and tasty every time this place hasn't let us down yet!! Certainly our favourite just a shame they can't deliver out to the sticks but worth a drive into town for a special occasion

Terrible - said it would take one hour and took two hours. When asking the restaurant why all they could say was that they had taken extra orders and were busy. Yet they knew this when they took our order and lied about the estimated time as they took payment. I asked what the manager planned to do differently to prevent it happening again and they had no idea. Just want to take your money and no care for the customers.

We have used this Takeaway before while on holiday Dissapointed they no longer do Tofu Our order came to just over £28 inc Sweet & Sour Prawn balls which were lovely,Salt & Chilli prawns,Salt&Chilli Ribs & Salt&Chilli chips we paid for extra Garlic&Chilli on all dishes, unfortunatley when opened they were extremley soggy filled with onions&not much Garlic&Chilli The egg fried Rice was fine & Vegetable chow mein was ok Usually when we get salt&chilli dishes from other places they are lovely&dry with fresh chopped garlic&chilli not covered in soggy onions First time we have thrown most of a chinese away ,very Dissapointed & wont be back

Recommend this takeaway if looking for home delivery in a holiday rental as we were. Efficient order taking pover the phone & ability to pay by credit card at time of ordering. Good quality food & prompt delivery. Reasonably priced. Pleasant delivery staff.

We called Top Wok as our usual Chinese Takeaway was closed I wish I had kept my £20 and had a Cuppa Soup instead. The chips were over cooked and dry, the rice congealed but the biggest disappointment was the bland curry. Not just bland but BLAND. I’m really not sure how there are so many good reviews for this take out but very misleading in my opinion. On a positive note, the prawn crackers were tasty and plentiful. Delivery was also swift and friendly.

On Wednesday night a friend of mine turned up out of the blue for a visit and a chat. We chose to stay at home and have a takeaway rather than go out to eat. I don't do cooking. My usual Chinese was shut so picked another at random from the net. We chose a selection of dishes, 8 in all and waited for our delivery to arrive.Our meal turned up well before the agreed time and was well packed and hot. Having laid our selection out on the dinning room table we sat down and got stuck in. Much to the delight of both of us the food was outstanding. Every dish was well cooked with the minimum of grease, tasty, hot and a pleasure to eat. There was so much in fact that I had enough left to give me a meal on Thursday night. All in all a very good meal at a very good price. Now my only problem is deciding in future which restaurant to order from, Top Wok or my usual takeaway.

Have ordered here for the first time tonight considering our normal local Chinese restaurant was closed. I’m always slightly apprehensive about reviewing/trying a new restaurant especially when neither me nor my partners family have tried it before. So we decided to take the plunge and order from here. We ordered sweet and sour chicken balls, salt and chilli chips, egg fried rice, chicken fried rice and crispy beef. All of the food was a definite 5 stars and A+++ for us. The sweet and sour sauce was absolutely heavenly and I can honestly say that I’ve struggled to find sweet and sour sauce that is the perfect balance of both sweet and sour without being too runny or too thick, this was perfect. The whole meal was an absolute taste sensation and well worth the £22. We were able to pay quickly and easily over the phone and the man who spoke to me was very polite and easily took my order. We have decided that this is going to be our local takeaway from now on as I can eat all of the food as opposed to where we usually order from which restricts me to just boiled rice and chips. 10/10 and will definitely be back!

Really bad experience. Was told the food would be 15 mins; 25 mins later was told it would be another 15 mins. 20 mins after that was told they were just about to start preparing the food. By this time our young son was so restless we just had to get a refund and leave. Cheers. First and last visit.

Hemos probado prácticamente todos los sitios de comida para llevar china en oferta y este tiene nunca nos defraudó. La comida es obviamente recién preparado y muy sabroso. No grasa. Carne y pescado son de muy buena calidad y cada plato no saben igual como algunos! Siempre hemos tenido una maravillosa comida aquí - no un plato ha defraudado. Siempre a tiempo y bien caliente. Realmente sorprendido no es más arriba de aquí, pero estoy seguro de que será como merece ser. Cuando llame, todo muy profesional, así que sabes que vas a conseguir lo que pedimos! !

Top Wok has been our regular take away for a couple of years now. Apart from one occasion, they have provided a very good service. Tasty food, pleasant phone manners, cheery delivery drivers.

Mejor oferta en China. Comida fresca, caliente y limpia o recoger o entregar. He probado muchas formas de tomar una buena oferta, pero este es mi favorito. Se lleva mi voto.

Have used Top-Wok for a couple of years as our local Chinese. All friendly and decent service. Really like the Singapore noodles, but food always tasty at a reasonable price. Not cheap but good value.

Ordered a take away from here tonight for 6 of us. Asked if the sweet chillie sauce came on the chicken or in a pot as they offered me it extra. The person on the phone asked the chef and he said, however they ****** like it for **** sake. Then called me a string of vile words, obviously nor realising I could hear. I just hung up - was shocked. My 11 year old daughter usually likes to ring the orders through, its a good job she was out playing never again.

Food is always good and tasty. Have been using them for years and the bejing pork dumplings are to die for. Menu is extensive and full of different flavors. I would highly recomend.

I tried TW because my usual takeaway doesn't accept card payments & I had no cash. Everything seemed unfresh & bland. One dish was only 3/4 full (Chow Mein). I was very disappointed.

We placed a biggish order, seventy pounds. Sea weed was not there(at three fifty per portion). Over cooked and lacking in taste. We were very disappointed. The only advantage was they did deliver.

Very fresh flavoursome tasting food. Great home delivery service and excellent value for money highly recommend will be using again.
