Our go-to Chinese takeaway deserves a glowing five-star review! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Living 15 minutes away, we're always impressed that our food arrives piping hot. The Chow Mein is perfectly stir-fried, the Chicken Satay is rich and flavorful, and the Salt and Pepper Chicken is a delightful mix of spice and crunch. Each dish is consistently delicious, making it our favorite spot for a quick meal. The service is friendly, and we appreciate the speedy delivery. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Chinese cuisine!

Possibly the worst Chinese we've had. We've read the other reviews and always wondered why we never have this positive experience. We've tried this restaurant 3 times within the last 5 years and each time is is either undercooked/overcooked, bland or just inedible. My most recent order was the 3rd times the charm to finally review and not return. Being a takeaway order my sole review is based off the food quality and not the staff etc.

Ordered here for the first time last night. Delivered really quick and the food was really nice. Big chunks of beef in chow mein, the ribs are really good, we had dry but will try in sauce next time. The only negative was tomatoes in the chop sui my partner found a bit weird, but we would definitely use this chinese again, we live in aylesham, we have a Chinese up the road but really glad we tried here as these are much better!

Food is great, takes a few attempts to get through on the phone to place an order but they are always busy so as to be expected

This is a nice Chinese restaurant it is easily one of the best however they have children working there taking orders in a dangerous environment as there open flames

Food that arrived was ok, when it eventually arrived! Took an hour and a half to arrive. And then, when we started serving up, we found one of the dishes that we ordered and paid for was missing. Not the first time this has happened. Will probably be the last time!

Been ordering from here for 30 years plus, tonight had the worse takeaway ever, I rang and said the spare ribs were reheated and very dry and we found a black hair in the noodles. We were offered free rice and noodles which we declined as don't fancy eating now so they said next time we order mention this happened amd we're get free rice!! Really not very good customer service 😕

Called in here to collect a meal to have with a friend. Sadly not as good as it could have been and it seems run down and tired. The clattering of a ladle on wok can be heard for a quarter of a mile, I thought at first I had parked outside a metal fabricator.

The title of my review says it all, shortly after eating here I was feeling sick and then up through the night! On collecting my food I was dubious as the place is run down. Avoid unless you want to be ill after eating!

Have just had the best Chinese takeaway in a very long time! Would highly recommend!!! Dishes to recommend; Capital Spare Ribs, Chicken Satay Skewers, definitely try the Lamb & Mushrooms - were exceptional!!!!

After watching them cook the the food i had reservations about eating it, but paying nearly £50 for my daughter's birthday, I was not impressed, no washing of hands between meat & vegetables or different meals they were cooking. Im feeling queasy already my daughter's been sick hadn't eat very much of it. Won't be going there again.

The food was really nice and tasty, however ordered a bottle of coke to go with the meal which didn’t get delivered. Called them up and explaining this and was told they would send it out with the driver who was delivering in the village again the same night!! Never did arrive and no refund offered!! Very disappointed with this service!!

Best Chinese takeaway. Always freshly cooked. And they deliver to me in Sandwich.

Excellent food, watch them prepare it in the kitchen....never greasy, only issue is you'll be eating it the next day as well, generous portions.

Ordered our first Chinese takeaway in 5 years and have to say it was 1st class, easy to order and pay, food delivered on time and piping hot, absolutely delicious, also ordered Chardonnay white wine this arrived chilled and ready to drink, all this was affordable, we will not be waiting another 5 years before we order again, not even 5 weeks.

Ordered, waited 1.5 hrs for delivery, when it came it was wrong. My girlfriend hasn't eaten meat in 40 yrs and ordered a vegetable chow mein which had chicken in it. If you can't get a simple order right then you shouldn't be in the business. They offered "a discount" next time but there won't be a next time.

Local to me and always, in my experience, to be relied on for a quality meal.

My family has been ordering from this Chinese takeaway for over 10 years. Always fresh, quality food. The prices are slightly higher than our more local Chinese takeaways, but the food here tastes much better. Would highly recommend the chow mein from here (it's smoky and flavourful, unlike some places where it can be quite bland). The roast chicken Chinese style is also always included in our order... No other Chinese makes it like Golden Kitchen does. The only negative is that sometimes the order can take in excess of an hour to arrive, and the phone line is always engaged because they are so popular!

Always drive miles to get my Chinese here. Worth every penny

A busy little Chinese takeaway, the food is always reliably good, the best part is the kitchen being 100% open, it gives you an great sense of theatre.

Ive used elvington chinese before and the food hasnt been too bad, but on this occasion it was just awful!! I had duck chow mein, bbq ribs, and asked for prawn crackers extra as a friend was ordering with me. We spent enough for free crackers too but only received one bag that we were charged for. My chow mein was dry and flavorless,the ribs were just fatty with next to no meat, and the sauce on the ribs was just water! I hate to put places down as i know they are struggling, but this just doesnt cut it! I will not use again

Friendly staff Quick delivery as this is a take away. Phone and order where you collect yourself or have it delivered. You can also pay by card over the phone or cash on delivery. Great food, very good portions and the food arrived hot. Average prices with an extensive menu choice.

Mediocre food. Extremely poor service! It took me 15-20mins to get through via phone to place my order and then to be told they only take cash!! When previously card payments were taken! Absolutely ridiculous!!

You can watch the food being cooked, so you know its fresh. We go a couple of times a month, delicious, lots of flavour, not bland, good size portions.

We love the Golden kitchen, they deliver all the way to Dover and the food is always very hot. No Chinese takeaway is any where near as good as the golden kitchen. The Satay prawns/chicken and capital spare ribs highly recommended. Never had a bad dish!

Really unreliable. Food was late and cold. Completely ruined my sister's favourite day of the week and now my nan's crying. Edit: Now they tell me that they will have me black listed from every Chinese take away in the country. Can they really do that?

AVOID Order had missing dishes and ruined a family event. Called the driver as couldn’t get through to the shop. He was rude and aggressive and swore! Called the premises and explained they had ruined a whole meal as 3 of us were eating whilst one couldn’t, as their meal was missing! The owner was rude, hung up and will not refund. Just said they’d just sack the driver despite admitting it was her error! Family night ruined by company incompetence!

Good Chinkey, busy but in a good way.

Chinese has always been my favourite takeaway. Golden Kitchen stands out. Firstly, It's always fresh and warm. We always order by phone for delivery and the staff are consistently friendly. The menu is varied. Much of the contents are the standard affair; Spring rolls, crispy beef, chicken curry etc. It does however, have plenty of items that are a little less common; Yellow bean sauce and the Peking (garlic?) are the best. Best of all everything tastes like it was made with decent ingredients, not just E numbers and flavoured powder. Much recommend!

Great food, really fast service. Delivery available, and if you get delivery you can order wine too. This Chinese has the highest food hygiene rating, the kitchen is open so you can actually see them prep the food. It's award winning, for good reason. They now take contactless cards too. They're closed Mondays.

Been using this place for a while now and always get good quality food. Good amount of meat in the dishes and nice and tender. Doesn't cost much more for us than fish and chips from a nearby chippie, but we don't have to go and collect it. You can even choose English food if you prefer, from a limited menu, so makes it easy to please most people. Local delivery is free to those close by if buying enough, so we can have a drink and relax while waiting. Unfortunately the waiting time can be a while, mostly due to the time it takes to get through on the phone. But I guess that's what happens when a place is popular. Also they accept card payments if you collect from the shop, unlike our other local Chinese takeaway. This can be very handy sometimes, especially if you have a large order.

Took the best part of two hours to arrive and was barely warm. No card payments over the phone any more either. Experience has gone down. Will avoid in future.

Great Take Away, with a fascinating open kitchen, We always enjoy the food . The location is a bit out of the way but they do deliver. We prefer to wait and watch the food being cooked . Have recommended it to locals who were unaware of it.

Fantastic value, fast delivery ( early Tuesday evening, probably not the busiest time) and the chicken satay was fantastic. Good size portions and not greasy like some places. Will be using again.

Vino a pedir comida cuando calcula 43 libras 37 no sé qué cosa que me cobraron. . Pato era grasos. no tenía carne, meins estaban secos. chow Nunca nos dieron la salsa dulce y amarga con nuestra pelotas de pollo. . No pedir de nuevo.. Utilizamos me encanta este lugar, pero de calidad bajado.

At first it seems a bit dodgy with some of the food at leg height whilst cooking and seeing what looks like a mess on the fryers. But they are a very solid take away. Salt and pepper chicken is the best in the area. Unfortunately, their sweet and sour sauce is lumpy, with water added to keep it going which just makes it the worst sweet and sour in the area. The majority of their food is fantastic though and if they could just fix the shelving for storage, and the dismal sweet and sour, they would nail it.

Usually amazing from here. Today I spent a small fortune - £60 on the food. It arrived on time, after dishing up the food to the family - it was more than obvious that the food was dried out and looked like plastic. It had been reheated in a microwave and tasted absolutely disgusting. I will not be ordering from there again, and I hope others follow suit and go elsewhere. The drive into Dover - Yummy Chinese is better value, tastes lovely and is always fresh.

I have ordered from here many times, however this evening I placed my order at 6.24pm and was told it would be 45 mins. After an hour still no food, so rang at 7.28pm to find out where it was. Was assured it was out for delivery. By 8pm still nothing, by which point we're thinking if it does arrive it'll be cold. Rang at 8.05pm to be told we didn't have an order with them! Such a shame, looks like they've lost our business now and we've had to go elsewhere. Oh and now eating two hours later than planned!

Batter uncooked, prawn toast definitely reheated on old oil, greasy and hard with bitter taste. Two of us ate the same and both were 'unwell' overnight......

My closest Chinese take away so have are here numerous of times, you can see what they are cooking from the front of the shop which is good but as you watch you see that some food are cooked earlier before and left under a shelf with no container on top so if any flies or anything want to sit in your food they can.. After seeing that, that was the last time I ate there not very clean don't know how it has a 5 star!!!!

We were in the area again and enjoyed the food last time we returned.This is a very unusual take away , as it has an open kitchen. The food is being prepared in front of you.We had the set meal for four , there was loads of it.Looking forward to going again when next in Kent.

One of the best Chinese Take Aways in the Dover area. We were saddened when our old Cantonese restaurant closed down in town and used many around the area that just didn't do it for us, were tasteless and bland ...until we were recommended 'The Golden Kitchen'. The food is so much more tasty and spicy, full of quality meats with value for money. And the service is amazing. Very polite members of staff will take your order quickly and efficiently where you can pay with debit card for ease and next time you call will have your address details stored. They always say our order will be about 45 minutes, we only live 3 miles away and sometimes it's at our door within 20 minutes, once it took 16 minutes from putting the phone down! Good work, keep it up!

No real competition...but a main and a side is priced the same as a sit in all you can eat at Chapter Eight in Dover so they must be losing business.
