Wasn’t the worse but not the best Chinese I’ve had very disjointed menu . Some of the meal Overcooked plus some served cold when we got a replacement we had basically finished wasn’t blown away by the quality or quantity. Warm wine put in a cooler with no ice which is a no no for me

Best Chinese food I’ve had for ages. We’re all vegans. They advised what we should order for 4 people and the food was excellent, good value and the portions were just right for 4. Delivery was rapid and friendly. Highly recommended. Will definitely go again next time we’re here.

Wonderful meal. Lovely and surprising venue inside beautiful house at end of town. Thurs night all 27 covers were taken. Amazing waitress dealing with all on her own but could do with some help! Food fresh, corkage at £10 per bottle as is the norm in Deal across pretty much all restaurants now. Will 100% be back.

Really lovely and friendly staff. We had a great table right in the center window. Food was amazing and prices very reasonable, resteruant was very busy but service steady and no huge waits between course s , great location and also a take away counter in the downstairs part . Highly reccomend.

The food here is normally very good as a takeaway. Ordered a delivery and when delivered was missing a meal so called up and they wanted to charge another delivery charge. Sweet and sour sauce was like a jelly and the not all the pineapple was cooked. Special fried rice was salted exsessively and couldn't eat it. Shame really !

We went to this restaurant because of good reviews. The decor was great - pure white walls with red lanterns hanging from above. The service was lovely, polite, and attentive. Sadly, the food was absolutely awful. 'The tempura' was in the form of some pancake, dishes soggy, over - salted, fish cooked to death. I can only hope that the chefs are to invest in the cookbook and follow instructions.

THE BEST VEGAN CHINESE MENU EVER!

Had looked a this restaurant a few times when we visited Deal, and sorted out booking their dining room restaurant upstairs. Decor is lovely, staff are friendly and attentive, food matched up to expectations. Dim Sum sharing platter for starter. Deep fried pork belly slices, Ma-la beef, Chinese cabbage stir fry and Thai pineapple & chilli fried rice. Coupled with a bottle of Chapel Down Bacchus white and a small bottle of Japanese plum wine for dessert. A lovely evening and we will definitely visit again. Thanks to our waitresses and the gang in the kitchen from Darren.

This is a real gem of a find in Deal. The entrance to the restaurant is beside the takeaway and doesn’t look much from the outside but it is wonderful inside. Every table was booked when we went and the staff were really friendly, knowledgable and attentive without being obtrusive. We had their dim sum platter as a starter which was really tasty. We then went on to have the Deep Fried Pork Belly Slices with Spicy Ma-La Beef with sides of Chines Cabbage Stir Fry and Thai Chilly Pineapple Fried Rice. The food was superb and the wine selection was good too. Definitely planning a return visit.

I was impressed with the number of vegan options on the menu, so we decided to visit. When we got there, it seemed to just be a take away - the entrance to the restaurant is next to the shop front. We decided to have the vegan set menu as we couldn't decide what to have. The starter was 'duck' pancakes and the main had 4 or 5 dishes + jasmine rice. (The sweet and sour was particularly good!) It was delicious and very filling. The staff were very friendly - the younger waitress was hilarious! I would highly recommend a visit.

As a coeliac I would not recommend this Chinese sadly . The menu was very limited and the chicken chow mein was very dry. A message to the chef , invest in a bottle of gluten free soya sauce please !! My husband (a non coeliac enjoyed his meal) and to be fair my main course of dry chicken chow mein was refunded as we left.

My partner and I are vegan, we visited friends in Deal and they suggested this place for it's separate and large vegan menu...and WOW! Sometimes, when a non vegan dedicated restaurant has a huge variety of vegan options - it's doesn't necessarily mean the options are great, or done well ... especially with specialist quizine, such as Asian food and so on...but this place is an incredible exception. I would go as far as to say it's the best vegan food we've ever had from a non vegan place... I don't know what all the ingredients were, but it wasn't just tofu! They used a type of meaty mushroom for duck replacement in one of the dishes, it was insanely good...The (not)chicken satay was indescribably delicious...I could go on...we had a number of dishes to try... All if it was perfect...and everything was so fresh...it was not a stodgy takeaway, felt and tasted healthy and flavoursome... Our non vegan friends rave about the main menu in the same way, but as a vegan I can now vouch for them as an all round excellent restaurant...

Whilst I like to try new places, Hey hey had always been my reliable go-to Chinese takeaway. The staff are always friendly and the food is always fresh and tasty.

Awesome food, got to try the salt and pepper chips! I have been going here for years now and me and my friends always look forward to a hey hey, as we know the food we get will be great. Very good customer service, reasonably priced considering it’s a very high quality of food and an overall awesome place to eat.

Just ordered a takeout from Hey Hey, it was the most disgusting meal I have tried to eat in a long time. The batter on the chicken balls was thick and glupey. The chow mein noodles were dry and without taste. The chicken in yellow bean looked like lumpy gravy and tasted as bad. Myself and family don’t often have Chinese and we’re looking forward to a nice meal. The food was by no means warm. Really bad food x 10 🤢

We have had good food in the Hey Hey but things have slipped badly. Tough beef, fish not so fresh, a strange dish with oranges and really poor noodles. Good service but the food did not justify the bill at all. I hope it picks up again.

First time ordering here and honestly the best Chinese take away I've had in a long time. Food tastes high quality.

Tried for third time lucky with home delivery and yet again the order was incorrect Read back the items to the front desk person but when delivery came an important item was missing But not charged for so obviously they were not listening correctly Called Hey hey and I got the impression they were not bothered as no offer of delivery of the missing item was offered. The food we received was poor also Dry egg fried rice And stale Prawn crackers Chips were cold WILL NOT BE USING AGAIN

Placed an order at 1800hrs, it was to be delivered at 1845hrs. I rang to complain and find out where my order was, this was at 1925hrs. At 2025hrs I attempted to call back and just cancel, unfortunately I couldn't get through. I did try over twenty times, but to no avail. It's now 2125hrs and have given up. Knock on the door at 2135hrs, are you really trying to deliver that now? Three and a half hours after I ordered!

Can't fault the restaurant. Very good food and fast, attentive service. Tastefully furnished and a cosy atmosphere as well.

A bit disappointing. I'm aware that everyone has different tastes, but what we ordered was mostly bland. Fried rice was so dry it was clearly a reheat. There's no way it was fresh. The pork was tough and was likely cooked days ago and just reheated in a microwave. The szechuan beef was OK, but really needed some heat to it. I know Chinese take aways tone down their spices to cater for British tastes, but there was barely any spice at all. The dim sums were great. No complaints there. The girl who took our order was lovely and friendly. I think we'll look elsewhere for Chinese food in future.

We fancied a pre-Christmas Chinese and as our first choice of restaurant wasn’t available, we stumbled across Hey Hey and are glad we did. Lovely dining room upstairs and we were served by the friendliest and helpful staff, felt more like guests than customers. Good menu and if there’s nothing that takes your fancy, they will happily allow you to order from the takeaway menu as well,obviously at a slightly higher price. Really good quality food and portion sizes which went down well with a fantastic Italian rose. We’ll definitely be back.

Our third order: ordered over the phone for delivery. Vegan chow mein and meat chow mein. Only 1 chow mein arrived and we assumed it to be vegan - tried it and it was chicken! Called them as there was an extra, unordered dish we couldn't identify. We were told it was a pad Thai as they no longer do vegan chow mein. When we said they should've called and told us as being vegan and putting chicken in your mouth is rank, she laughed and said we could eat the pad Thai...the point was absolutely missed. She offered a refund for that dish on our next order - there won't be a next order.

Above the takeaway lives a very clean and modern restaurant. Excellent smiling service and a good variety from the menu (you can also order from the takeaway menu). Recommend the cucumber salad, pork and the cabbage. Delicious

Delicious vegan starter and main. Great service too. Had lots of takeaways but first time in restaurant. Definitely going again!

Our take away was inedible. The Kung Po Chicken comprised small bits of battered tasteless chicken stuck together in a sticky mass with a few Bamboo shoots on top. This was inedible and we ate none of it. The Chicken Satay was hard and leathery and smothered in Peanut Sauce. The BBQ Spare Ribs were also hard and obviously bought in. The noodles were greasy and had an unpleasant taste. We emptied all this muck into the plastic bag and put it into the dustbin were it belonged.

Really tasty food, nice menu, friendly service and the restuarant was lovely. We certainly hope to be back for more delicious food sometime soon.

Birthday meal for my partner. The ambience, service, food and presentation was all fabulous. Clean bathroom facilities. Friendly happy staff. Excellent choice and prices. Highly recommend but there are stairs to climb which could pose a problem to some. Take away downstairs though of same quality.

On of Deal's tastiest options for Chinese food.

The wasabi prawns & crab starters were divine! All of the dishes we ordered were first class and we cannot wait to go back. Thank you also for easy listening music as well as excellent service.

Never again. We have had takeaway from hey hey three times and twice they have got our order wrong, even when they confirm your order back to you the kitchen gives you the wrong food. Tonight when we arrived there was a young girl and boy behind the counter. Both were on their phones and clearly had no interest in being there. No hello or can I take your order etc. We gave the boy our order and waited. Both of them continued to use their phones even when other customers came in. Takeaway food was left on the counter for long periods of time. I asked the boy if the dining in menu was the only menu you could have when eating in and he said "Err I think so" if you work there don't you think this is something you should know? More food came out and because they were both still on the phones a boy came in and took the two takeaway bags off the counter, they had to call him back because one of them was our takeaway. When we unpacked our food we realised that they had got our order completely wrong. We had 2 portions of vegan crispy chilli beef instead of one, no vegetable fried rice and the vegetable noodles was chicken and prawn, not great when you order vegetarian. This ruined our evening and meant we had wasted £30 and had to cook our own food. This is the second time they have got our order wrong. Being at the more expensive end of the market you would expect better. If you have food allergies I would strongly advise you not to eat here as you cannot trust them to give you what you order.

Excellent Restaurant voted by all the family especially grandchildren. Our grandson ( aged 7) voted it one of the best Chinese “ever”. The food was good quality and the service and staff were so welcoming . We could not fault it and say thank you to the staff for making our grandsons so included .

We had a wonderful night tonight at the Hey Hey...service and food were out of this world and we will most definitely be back !!

Best Chinese we’ve had in a while!!

Ordered a takeaway whilst visiting dover. We had the vegan versions of Mongolian beef, Thai crispy prawns and duck in orange sauce. All very tasty and delivery was excellent. Only thing I don't understand is why they give you prawn crackers with a vegan meal, sure it's free but seems a waste of food.

Delightful waitress, who worked hard to make sure all dinner were happy at every stage. Food was fresh, hot and tasty.

I’ve ordered from Hey Hey previously and it was fine, but this evening, I ordered at 18.00 and our food was delivered by 18.07. The food was hot but tasted really unpleasant and was not fresh at all. I called Hey Hey and let them know, I was offered a free meal on my next order which I politely declined. Really disappointing and I wouldn’t recommend this Chinese Takeaway.

Recommended by friends of ours who live in Deal,hubby and I had a meal,hubby had chicken curry and rice and I had chicken chow mein was delicious and portions were generous ,followed by ice cream ,I had vegan coconut ice cream again delicious, hubby had malibu sorbet,this is well worth visiting.

Hey Hey Deal is hey hey fantastic. A welcoming team, good menu choice, nice setting, fabulous food, excellent service, and a fantastic all round dining experience. Our favs were many but the (obligatory) crispy aromatic duck with pancakes starter was outstanding and so too General Tso’s chicken. We have been fortunate enough to experience many a far eastern cuisine and Hey Hey Deal tops the lot!

We we’re staying in Deal for the weekend and fancied a take away. We looked up this place on Tripadvisor and realised they had a fantastic gluten free menu. That’s what sold it to us as my husband is gluten free and he cant normally...

The best Chinese! I've never been a fan of Chinese takeaway because it is often is salty and lacking flavour but I love Hey Heys. They also do loads of amazing vegan options like duck pancakes, chicken Satay skewers etc. which are pretty convincing according to my non-vegan friends. If there is ever an issue with the order it is always rectified easily so I don't hesitate to order again. Delivery is great as well as eating in at the restaurant. So glad to have this gem in Deal!

We enjoyed everything we ordered, the cucumber salad, Singaporean Chow Mein, Green Beans with Chilli, Malaysian Kapitan Chicken, General Tso’s Chicken, and happy to drink Chapel Down;-)

This place was once very good. The last few times we have ordered the chicken has been dry on the Malaysian chicken bowl. They don't know how to cook Kung Pao chicken correctly, they forgot to put the peanuts and chillis. The prices have gone way up too high and somehow the owner forgets we supported her through the pandemic. At least cook the food properly and not send it out for delivery dried-up chicken. Learn how to make a Kung Pau chicken, and stop giving leftover dried duck for the Peking duck pancakes.

We ordered a take away last week and the majority of it was inedible,the only thing we ate was the pancake rolls ,the rest went in the bin.We rang to complain and was promised a call from the manager the next day.We are still waiting to hear.Bad food bad service.We won’t be using Hey Hey again.

Great food and good to see different cuisines, decent value, excellent service.

This is the 2nd time we have ordered, 1st time it took two hours to deliver, they forgot the sweet and sour sauce and it then took another hour to get that. We thought we'd try again as the food was nice this time delivery was only 45 minutes but they forgot another item and again took another hour to get it. They also rang us back and tried to convince us not to have it and have money off next time. Someone needs to check orders before they leave and don't worry I very much doubt there will be a next time I'm afraid

Recommended by the tap room 1 min away and did not disappoint. We phoned in the order and it was ready 15 mins later. Food was very good quality, hot, as good as any of the best Chinese food I’ve had before, not greasy, fresh and delicious. Recommended

Good food - super tasty and good portions. We had arrived late and needed some milk - we asked if there was anywhere local but the owner asked one of delivery drivers to pick up a pint and bring it back to the shop for us! That is what you call service!

We have ordered from Hey Hey before with mixed results. We ordered tonight and it was truly terrible. Greasy and pretty much inedible. I can’t believe that the food was cooked fresh today- felt like a reheat from yesterday. When I rang them to up tell them, they offered a 10% discount off our next order- for me this was an admission that the food wasn’t fresh otherwise surely they would have offered to replace. Yuck.

I've both dined in and taken food away. Both times the food was amazing. The service when eating in was fabulous. Only spoilt very very loud customers talking on their phones during their meal. Amazing vegan menu with so much more choice than most other restaurants I've been to! We drove 20/25 minutes for the food because we thought it was worth it over any other Chinese.

Having lived in HongKong and Taiwan the food is really good and tastes the same. The service is quick and there are seats to wait. Easy to order ahead and pick up. Very courteous

The food is great, but the customer service this time around was terrible. I received a wrong item in my order and when I called them about it they laughed at me. I found this very upsetting when it wasn't even my mistake. Very unprofessional and I would feel very anxious to make another order again.

We have had takeaway from hey hey, never in the restaurant. We were very impressed with the restaurant. The menu isn't as big as takeaway menu, but there's plenty to choose from. The food was excellent, the staff were really great. Its a lovely room, friendly and unhurried. We will be back for more.

Had a fabulous meal upstairs in Hey Hey last night. The new waitress Cherry is professional, attentive and charming, the food is great value and delicious. There is a nice relaxed atmosphere for a great evening.

Sunday decided to have a Chinese after a busy week of work, I made the order 7pm for delivery 8pm this was all agreed, I paid over the phone, 830pm and no delivery. I phone to ask where it is first time I call no answer 2nd time I call back a girl answered to inform me yep we have one driver on this evening so all orders went together??? Well don’t you think the decent thing would be to tell me before placing the order?? I don’t know what time you lot like to eat but I certainly don’t like eating past 9pm!

We ate in and the food was very good. A bit different from your usual Chinese food but very enjoyable. The waitress was very friendly but rather forgetful. I would visit again.

We’ve both eaten in and had delivery. Amazing range of incredible vegan dishes. When we visited the manager was being visited by someone who seemed to be an investor who was grilling her on the business. This guy kept glaring aggressively at both of us and it was most intimidating. Won’t be dining in there again in case he’s there but happily we’re within delivery range!

We had the vegan chilli beef and vegan sweet and sour chicken, and it was absolutely delicious. My kids loved the regular chicken balls, rice etc. Very reasonably priced and great staff. We will definitely be back
