The best restaurants serving British food in Wales

Have tried all the cafés in Hay but keep coming back to this one. In our opinion, it's the best. Haven't put a 🌟 against food because we only had hot chocolate

Lovely place for a coffee and a cake

Play area is great, but waited 30mins for our hot drinks when we arived & then waited an hour for our daughters cheese sandwich, no apology and no warning there was a wait, very poor service. Floors not being cleaned with food and drink all over. Poor!

Great spot for craft beer! Good choice and great atmosphere. I had the stout and it was fantastic.

I sent a private message to apply then I was told I was full of bs and also called a loser afterwords and got an attitude problem just for applying and being honest. Never happened to me before. Amazing stuff guys

Truly memorable 3 night stay at Buckley Arms. Well looked after, clean rooms, lovely breakfast with an idyllic view, run by a super friendly family.

Such a unique restaurant. The cozy chapel was a perfect Sunday lunch spot with a young man playing the keyboard. This was one of the best Sunday lunches we have had in a long time. I had the roast chicken with veg and potatoes- everything was so fresh and the chicken was tender. We drove from Chester and would definitely return to have lunch here. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Use to go there all the time in my younger days . My aunty lived In Africa gnds so when I visit and stayed there was In there regularly. Live to far away now so haven't been there for a long while . But intend to visit it again soon . The batter was to die for my favourite then was sausages and batter and chips . Loved the place. A young guy with a hair condition when I went there bit it was great food great service and clean place loved yans

Fantastic as always. Tasty food served quickly and always with a smile. Good portions and always piping hot. Lovely group of young ladies' running this place.

Lovely fish lightly battered, but chips were not the best. Very greasy and looked like they were the last of them as lots of little bits in them. Very expensive for what we had. Staff very lovely.

We booked a table for 2 online, which was easy to do. We arrived early and were shown straight away to our table. Really good food as always. Always enjoy going to Pen Y bryn. Great atmosphere and really good food and we were well looked after by the young man who served our table
