Crwst in Ceredigion

One of the best brunches we’ve ever had! My kids were in seventh heaven here! Fantastic menu, with something to suit everyone, including my lactose and gluten intolerant husband! My son had the most incredible pancake with fruit compote, mascarpone cheese and amazing maple butter! Delicious flat white, cinnamon pastry and great soft drink choice. Great service, lovely atmosphere and lots of amazing things to take away too. We bought some granola, chocolate and incredible Doughnuts. Highly recommended!!

food was nice enough but customer service was atrocious. very unclear rules around seating, staff were rude and i felt uncomfortable the entire time i was there.

By far the best brunch I have ever had. Couldn’t decide what to order so added some extras on the eggs on toast and had the pancakes too. Delicious. Fab staff and service - can’t wait to go back.

My husband and I have been driving 30 miles from Pembrokeshire at least once a month for almost two years now to visit Crwst, and can safely say it is our favourite place to eat. The quality of food is exceptional with great little touches that really elevate the dishes, like a few slices of freshly baked sourdough toast with your breakfast, or their homemade baked beans which are to die for! We always receive a welcome from the staff when we arrive which never fails to warm our hearts. We hope this fantastic business continues to thrive so we may continue to support them for many years to come.

Really cute and cosy cafe with a good amount of seating appropriate for bigger groups, families and is dog friendly. They have great food options with gluten free alternatives 😍Really recommend the cuban ! unusual and delicious.

I've eaten here before with a group of colleagues and loved it so had to return. This was a smaller group of just two of us at lunchtime. Whilst not on the high street it's in a great location as you almost certainly have to drive past it.. and it's very noticeable! As you walk in you can feel the friendly vibe with people chit-chatting everywhere...it feels just right to be there! Once met at the door desk you're taken to a suitable table and given a menu. The brunch menu's not huge but there's definitely something for everyone (including vegetarian) and worthy of regular repeat visits. The coffee's incredible...and available to buy (I did!), there's lots of ther options including various teas and soft options. Our food was awesome and pretty quick especially given how busy it was in there. The staff are super friendly and able to offer great advice too. Prices are God value for money and reasonable. As well as their own menu they have a substantial display of local produce...I ended up with a lovely looking and sounding bottle of Da Mhile seaweed gin! I'll definitely return here when next in town and highly recommend it.

A great vibrant busy place for a morning breakfast or just a coffee. Wonderful to see it excepts dogs as well, and all so well behaved. Food good and service great all with happy faces and friendly banter. Will definately visit again, maybe take my dogs next time.........not sure they will be so well behaved though 😉

First time in Cardigan and couldn't be more impressed with how cheerful and welcoming everyone is. Crwst was no exception but with the extra bonus of superb quality food. Had a full welsh on day 1 (all great, but butchers sausage and black pudding to die for!) and bacon and egg bap on day 2 while my Mrs raved about the pastries. Very friendly staff.

Had coffee and brunch over the weekend, both were delicious! Staff were very accommodating when we didn't have a reservation and managed to squeeze us in. Had doughnuts to take away which were some of the best I've had. Would highly recommend!

Visiting Wales for the first time and decided to drink a coffee and had some food in this place. We entered the venue, 4-5 tables free, the receptionist did not even bother to welcome so we sat down at at the table. As we were ordering online, she came and said "did you speak with anyone when you sat down", we said "no, you just left the reception as we enter". She said "the tables are reserved so you need to leave the place". Now this is the worst experience I ever had in the UK, if this receptionist doesn't like her job maybe she can search for something else. I left the place and went and had a perfect coffee at Coffee #1 and later ate at the Teifi Waterside. Go visit and and spend your money somewhere else. PS: forget visiting this expensive place Crwst with rude receptionists and a place where it smells like in their kitchen, there's no extractor fans or air conditioning.

Well worth the trip from London or even Australia. One of my favourite coffees in the world. Also great food and product.

This is a lovely spacious venue and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food we had was mostly delicious but was badly let down by the tasteless, dry gluten-free bread which sucked the moisture and taste out of every mouthful. The chocolate brownie was lovely. Another slight annoyance was the number of dogs and the disregard shown by dog owners to simple courtesies. Uncontrolled barking was one problem but a thoughtless dog owner was letting her dog drink out of the table glasses and lick her cutlery. Who knows when it had last been attending to its own personal hygiene.

Always enjoy coming to Crwst for breakfast and coffee but on this mornings visit (5/1/24), the guy serving behind the coffee/donut counter was extremely obnoxious and rude to me and also customers in front of me. He was rude enough that it actually made me not enjoy my flat white which I usually love from you guys. Lots of people at tables around me were talking about his rudeness so unfortunately I wasn't alone. Hopefully it won't deter me from visiting with my family again.

I've been waiting over 2 years to come back here, purely for the hash browns... Rather disappointing, now rather greasy and stodgy inside with a lightly crunchy exterior. Potatoes have changed, not got the flavour or crunchy texture throughout that they once had. Atmosphere is buzzing as always, coffee is good. But the attraction for me has now gone.

Came here on recommendation of family who’d visited previously whilst on holiday. Unfortunately very disappointed… Got a takeaway coffee and it tastes vile - a chemical taste and very bitter. Will not be returning, particularly as we spotted the average food hygiene rating as we left.

5/5 we had booked lunch here today having been here in previous years and really enjoyed the food. We had an amazing lunch today superb festive chips totally vegan friendly it was like having a Xmas dinner on a plate of chips the flavours were out of this world. The dirty festive burger also superb. Never had a bad meal here- have had breakfast and lunch- sweets are amazing too!!!!

Wonderful food, bread and cakes only let down by the dismal serving set up. One till for eat in customers and take away. Large bar area completely unused most of the time and a bottleneck behind the till for taking orders, making coffees and just the one till. I often choose to drive to poppit crwst because it's quicker! Will still come for the fabulous food though!

Crwst is always a fantastic visit and a unique visit in Aberteifi. Their brunches are always delicious and they normally have some fantastic specials which are a great addition to the normal menu. The staff are always attentive and welcoming and help create a relaxed setting with a warm Welsh welcome. They recently hosted a L’entrecote night which was absolutely amazing and by far the best steak we’ve had in the area!

Really nice place and I enjoyed the decor. Food was absolutely lovely although I’d say still quite experience, beautiful coffees. Only thing that let it down was the rude man on the till.

Lovely little cafe on the outskirts of Cardigan high street. I had the French toast which was fluffy, flavoursome and fruity with the berries on. Really well presented and tasted good so win win. My fiance has the full Welsh and was again well presented and had a good amount on his plate and was happy with his food. Can dine in or take out. Qr code to order from table or go up to order. Toilets and wheelchair / pushchair toilets and accessibility. Book if bigger parties are going for breakfast or lunch Open 10-3. I think price wise is a little high but food was good. Staff seem welcoming enough but should bring couples meals out together rather than one waiting a little longer but suppose it is what it is. Would return though

Always a fantastic experience when visiting Crwst! Service warm and friendly, the lovely Harry found space for us despite being packed due to the Many Voices Festival being on. Coffee, sandwiches and doughnuts outstanding as per usual. Friend with me was vegan, plenty of choice for her and she also spotted the vegan pancake gift boxes... so Christmas is sorted for her!

What a shame, the dogs are taking over!! I used to absolutely love visiting crwst for breakfast but sadly I won’t be returning. The food is beautiful, fresh and very creative but to wait almost 45 min for breakfast is a bit much when you have (luckily a well behaved) child with you. But the biggest problem for me was the “dog friendly” aspect! Paying almost £50 for a breakfast to be surrounded by noisy dogs. The restaurant was full and 90% of the customers had a dog or two with them. (One actually peed all over the floor next to us) not the best view while eating. Vile! The room has an eco so once the dogs started barking at each other it was deafening, no air flow so the place just felt very dirty. To be honest it’s not your fault, it’s the owners who insist on bringing their dogs with them everywhere they go. One lady actually got up from her table (a table of 3 guests) walked about 4 yards to get a napkin but brought her two dogs with her for some reason! Maybe this is a message to dog owners rather than Crwst!!! You’re ruining a great place.

Very disappointed with my experience. Got a take away coffee and Portuguese tart last month and when I got back home I bit into it it’s it was raw! It was runny and tasted like raw egg, very disappointing and really hope no one got Ill from this! Returned today and asked for a vanilla custard doughnut, as I bit into a hard doughnut realised there was cinnamon/gingerbread flavour in it that wasn’t labelled on the sign. Luckily I bit into it before my husband that is allergic! Coffee is bitter and very average service.

Best food around, always good specials popping up and the bread is just sooo delicious. Big thanks to Matt for always being amazing and attentive when we visit🙌

Delicious Sunday breakfast, quick service, friendly atmosphere, nice decor, clean facilities. I will definitely go back if I am in the area again. Also bought some nice bread to take home.

We were staying 20 mins drive away from Cardigan and after a bracing forest walk, on Sunday morning, with the hounds breakfast beckoned. We hadn’t booked; which, on our part, was an oversight (quickly remedied for our next visit on the Saturday we would be heading home!). Fortunately they were able to seat us at a small table and comfy chesterfield armchairs near the entrance - confirming they had a healthy fully booked service. The service stood out from the moment we were greeted at the entrance to our leaving. Attentive and welcoming throughout; the speedy arrival of a chilled bottle of water as we first sat, with the unusually clement Welsh autumn weather, was indicative of the rest of the service. As usual our focus was on the vegan offering and we settled on the Vegan breakfast; which consisted of a slice of their own seeded whole meal toast (without spread), mushroom and greens patty, homemade beans, grilled tomato half and mushrooms. As she had read previous reviews MrsC added a side of their (what we now recognise as “legendary”) hash browns. A small dish of brown sauce completed the meal pour moi. We hate wasting food and sadly the combination of scrumptious hash browns AND toast were carbs too far for MrsC and we rued not bringing the hounds to hoover up the half eaten toast from her plate. I thought the plateful was spot on though MrsC was not fully won over by the patty; though she voted it considerably ahead of an over processed “fake” sausage. We enjoyed two cups, each, of oat milk lattes and they were a match for any other independent coffees we had prior. Before finally leaving we enjoyed a brief diversion to the deli section to purchase top ups of ground coffee, peppermint teabags and two of the largest vegan caramel iced doughnuts this side of the USA. We’d also assured ourselves that we’d be buying one (or more) of the fantastic looking loaves on our homeward bound booking the following Saturday All in all a cracking Sunday mornings brunch attended by an eclectic mix of cyclists, older couples, dog owners et al suggesting they’d hit the spot for a broad spectrum of customers (As an aside, although not tested, the lunchtime meal deal with falafel roll looked damned good too) Wholly recommended Big thumbs up. Now off to the beach with the hounds to walk off the calories…..

Lemon curd doughnuts. Worth a visit for one of these alone. We visited the takeaway at Poppit beach. Plenty of parking, plenty of indoor/outdoor seating and easily accessible route to the beach.

Whilst on holiday, we headed into Cardigan and to Crwst based on reviews I had read. They did not disappoint! Welsh Breakfast was top quality. Would recommend trying the cockle and smoked bacon gratin, lovely on top of your sourdough toast. Coffee (flat white) and hot chocolate are very good quality and taste delicious. They use local produce (we also spotted milkshake in their fridge from a dairy local to where we were staying) and very fresh ingredients. We also took away 2 vanilla custard doughnuts for later. They were the doughnut itself was light and fluffy and they are not shy with the filling! So fresh and delicious, you’ll never eat a store bought doughnut again! Dog friendly meaning we could take our pup with us. Great place with amazing food!

When approached we thought we wouldn’t get a table as it looked busy. We were on our last day of holiday and to be fair we liked the place. Breakfast was good and filled us up for the 3 hour drive home. Staff we pleasant enough and food came out on a timely manner. We bought some bread and Welshman’s caviar to take home. We were also inspired to stop off at Teifi cheese shop on the way home. Worth a visit

Just incredible. Really delicious breakfast with a wide ranging menu. Good thoughtful staff (we were sat at counter and ask if we could get a table if one came free and they remembered, unprompted). Got bread and donuts to takeaway which were equally incredible. Sad I don’t live in cardigan as I’d come here all the time

Excellent food, and a great atmosphere. The food did take a little while to arrive, but they were fairly busy so this is understandable. The photo is of Turkish eggs with N'duja, which were some of the best poached eggs I've ever had!

A very busy bank holiday weekend, but since we pre booked, we got sat immediately! We ordered Avocado Toast, Eggs Benedict, Bacon roll and various drinks. Waited around 25mins for everything to come out. The food was delicious! The staff are friendly, and more than happy to explain the menu! Definitely would recommend reserving a table and try their food! (They also offer take-out!!)

The only thing that bewildered me is why they don’t have seat ordering, when it’s busy you have to cue with takeout coffee ordering to place your order, plenty of staff around, just take people’s orders, never seen that before, such a shame. 4.7

We arrived with our dog in tow and asked the very friendly chap on the front desk if we could just have a drink . It was in the middle of lunch and he trawled through his computer obviously looking at bookings . It was a big ask as it was lunchtime and they were extremely busy but even when I said ‘ don’t worry and turned to walk away ‘ he was having none of it and led us to a table and managed to fit us in . He was very kind and friendly as were all the waiting staff . It was a lovely place to be . The coffee was delicious . I had to leave a review as he made our day . It’s restored our faith as most chain coffee shops don’t offer that personal touch . Well done . If we visit again , we will pop in again .

On entering the first question is Have You Reserved perhaps hi welcome or good morning would be more appropriate, The restaurant is very noisy not helped by the poor background music, the eating area is clean and dog friendly. Food is good quality but overpriced when compared to the very local competition. Food storage on the counter does is not secure wasps and others insects can enter In conclusion the competition can more than equal their quality. Food rating is 3

30 mins still waiting for the breakfast. Not particularly busy. 3 chefs, 1 working and the others with their feet up being carried by the professional lady. Chit chatting.... non stop. A business has no bandwidth to carry passengers. Hopefully we will eat in the 1 hour. Wish us luck. Side note, the guy seating us was professional.

My friend and I spontaneously went to Crwst and thankfully they had a table for us. We ordered via the app which was very straightforward to do. Drinks arrived quickly. Food was absolutely stunning, and I love the busy atmosphere of the place.

Busy and bustling like the rest of Cardigan. Service is polite and attentive, that`s the good points done with. Had eggs benedict waited 25 minutes for food after 10 minute queue at counter to initially order. Arrived cold, plate was warmer than the food, sauce had set. Replacement arrived quickly, pretty similar, a bit warmer, this time raw egg white, NICE! Ate it this time as it was after 2pm and i hadn`t eaten all day, (minus some of the egg white). A lofty price of £12.50 for this buy. Another sucker tourist bites the dust, DOH!
