Stupid No dogs policy = no to 3 lunchtime coverts when place more or less empty - place needs a good tidy up outside too

Found this lovely pub for food and relaxing after exploring Wales, staff were very friendly and helpful, service was quick and food was great, gammon was outstanding and steak and ale pie tasted amazing. Well worth stopping in here for food

Amazing little find on our long weekend away. Food was amazing, service was on point and friendly and price was good. I had the steak and ale pie and my husband had, whitebait and then gammon. All done to a really good standard.

Food here was exquisite. Our party of four each had something different - crab, duck, pie and steak - and each of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I had the duck with mash and it was the most delishious meal I have ever had at a restaurant. My husband has a food intolerance and the chef spoke to us personally to ensure the meal was perfect for him - it was. He too said it was the best meal he'd had and was exactly as he required. All four of us highly recommend eating here. Professional, friendly and helpful staff. Prices comparable with similar pub / restaurants.

My wife and I stopped off at the Wild Fowler for lunch. We were both very impressed with the choice on the menu. The young lady who was serving us was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The meals we ordered arrived very well presented and were delicious. I can highly recommend the Wild Fowler and will certainly call in again

We arrived 2ish. The menu was very extensive. Great choice and good wine. The gentleman who served us was a bit abrupt and gave the impression of being a bit annoyed. I apologise if this is the wrong impression. He didn't do chit-chat and was quite straight! The place was really cold even though it's mid-August! Why not use the log burner? It could be really cosy. The food was nice. However, the meat in the pie was very chewy (not good quality), and the salmon was dry. Overall, it was good. Would we call again? I don't think so.

Ordered 10oz Celtic Pride Rump stake medium rake but unfortunately get rare. Members of my family was enjoying duck, lasagne and fish and chips. Very good menu for kids as well. Overall restaurant well organised with staff. Must say that desert was absolutely brilliant so 4 star for me for food but I know my family would easy give 5 or more stars. Highly recommend if you are in local area.

We went here for a birthday meal with a big table for us. We pre ordered our food and it came out perfectly. Food was homemade and huge portions. Great price too! The service was really good 👍 we will be returning x

Husband said he enjoyed his meal ( he was famished so he would've eaten a scabby dog!), mine was not great ( sorry). Chicken dry in parts, slimey in parts, with a very unappetizing gelatinously lumpy sauce, the carrots were just spongy mush. I think their microwave is king in the kitchen. The saviour was the green beans which were cooked to perfection. All the staff we saw are lovely though, smiling, welcoming and friendly, so I didn't complain, it is what it is. Would I dine here again..? god no, but my husband would......!

The atmosphere and friendly staff but it was somewhat let down by some of the food. Had pan fried mushrooms for starter in garlic but was totally tasteless followed by parmesan crusted salmon which was enjoyable if the portion was not so miniscule that it was almost hidden by the green beans. Then ordered ice cream sundae for wife but on bill they tried to charge us for a sharing sundae

4 Went for a meal on Thursday all chose different meals, all was served together ,meals was boiling hot and all very tasty. Staff was lovely .

Called into The Wild Fowler mid afternoon there was a few people sat at tables eating, we were showed to a table for the 4 of us, the menu's were varied and our meals were selected, drinks were served and we didn't wait long for our meals . All of us agreed that it was very tasty good quality food and plentiful, I can honestly say I would return. The friendliness of staff and cleanliness of the restaurant was very good .

What a lovely welcoming pub the Wild Fowler is. Food delicious and plentiful. So good we've booked for tomorrow lunchtime. Recommend the rack of ribs and the Fowler Burger.

Service was a little slow because they had a big party in the other side, but we were not neglected. Food was great; the 4 of us all chose quite different meals but all were happy. I was particularly pleased that it was quiet enough for us to be able to chat comfortably, despite two of us having some hearing difficulties. A lovely evening out at the end of our holiday.

After a long day of exploring Aberystwyth and surrounding areas. We thought we should treat ourselves to a meal out, we were googling places to go locally and found The Wild Fowler was only 20 minutes away. Perfect! We booked a table (worth noting if you ever visit) and arrived to be greeted straight away and shown where our table was. The staff were so lovely and the atmosphere felt cosy and welcoming which we appreciated. We got our drinks very quickly and then food came…I had the wild mushrooms on bloomer toast which was incredible, such a lovely sauce too! My partner had the squid bites which were so beautifully cooked! We both decided on the ribs for mains and it did not disappoint, the meat fell off the bone and the chips were delicious! The presentation was outstanding and we really felt looked after by everyone! The prices may seem expensive but it is so worth it for the quality and care that goes into the food and service.

Great food and nice atmosphere. Outdoor seating is nice in the summer and pub feel with wood-burner inside. Friendly staff.

Loved the service. We've been visiting The Wild Fowler for the last 4 years over the Christmas holidays and the food is 10/10. Staff are always hospitable and friendly (especially when the power was out today) Last year we had the venison burger and it was to die for. Will definitely be back next year. Went for lunch with a large group for Xmas lunch on 8.12.23.. Service was excellent, food was perfect. Hot as it came out of the oven. Plenty of vegetables. The ambiance was perfect. This is one of the best pubs ever! All the staffs are friendly and always hardworking, I would definitely recommend this pub for drinking with your mates or food with your family and kids, all of the food is always great, this pub also had a good atmosphere.

Stopped off on the way home from Aberystwyth. Was made to feel really welcome. Menu was great and the food and service was superb. Obviously a popular destination for everyone in the community as there was a great atmosphere in the place too. Will stop again if in the area.

It was nice, but I think we were overcharged. Two Sunday lunches, two puds, a coffee and a glas of wine came to over £40!

Really lovely place. It was 'table service' even just for drinks! Quiet time when we visited, but did start to fill up with diners as we were leaving. Didn't manage to get back for a meal 😔 .... hopefully next time we are in the vicinity.

Lovely location regardless of the fact it's difficult not to have one around Ceredigion. Very attentive staff, perfect food and value for money. I was pleasantly shocked that the bill for 6 meals, 5 deserts and drinks only came to around £113 👌 #Recommended and will be visiting again in the future.

Good place. Nice service. Starters were wonderful,unfortunately the steak was abit over cooked, and peppercorn sauce was too watery. Will return.

Nice pub with great service and food. I was staying locally with friends and we visited The Wild Fowler a few times. I had the lamb burger and fish and chips on a subsequent visit. All cooked really nicely.

The mushroom starter was not as expected. It did not meet with universal acclaim. The Welsh Ratebit hit the spot, as did the steak, two lamb shanks and a pie! (Not all mine I hasten to add.) Lovely food. Service was prompt and friendly. A special comment on the serving hours. They keep going through the 3 to 6 "dead space." The bit before dinner but normally too late for lunch. Good for our chaotic schedule.

The Wildfowler is simply superb! Booking is advised, as it does get very busy, particularly on a Sunday! They serve food between 12 & 6, on a Sunday. We had a table booked for 4pm and it was just great, even that late into the afternoon it was still busy. For me it is really first rate! There is lots of choice. Nice choice of starters. I always opt for the prawn cocktail! plenty of prawns, a good Marie-Rose sauce, a little lemon & salad served with lovely granary bread, & real butter. As for the Roast meat, there is always, beef, pork, and turkey. I like to have a duet of meats. Today I had beef and pork, served with a great yorkie, stuffing and roasties, & plenty of vegetables. New potatoes, carrots, broccoli, sprouts, & broad beans. The gravy is delicious and a good jug full. One little thing, there is never peas with the dinner and we both love peas! If Sunday lunch is not for you they offer other choices, fish and chips, lasagne, & more, which always look good. A fine choice of puddings finish off a pleasant dinner beautifully, try the homemade cheesecake or the sundae!! Lots of options at the bar as well, Lager, wines, gin and plenty more. The Wildfowler has a great team of staff who are friendly, professional and great at what they do! We had 2 starters, 2 mains, a sharing pud & three pints 🍻 🍺 all for under £60! If you looking for a good feed locally The Wildfowler is the place, you simply will not find better! With plenty of parking. Just 10 miles from Aberystwyth and 10 miles from Machynlleth. Highly highly recommended! We will be back again for sure. Thank you to everyone. Much appreciated. Keep up the good work. 10/10

We stopped for food whilst on route. Even though it was a Saturday and they were busy, they squeezed us in.

Food was very good, good value for money as well.

We sat in the marquee with the dogs. It was really busy and the food was amazing. I recommend the salmon parmesan with asparagus and new potatoes.

We had to return twice the wierdest and most inedible chips, and settled for boiled baby potatoes with our mains. Dogs are only allowed outside.

Two excellent lunches. Sandwiches one day, the roast on a Sunday. Nicely presented. Vegetables fresh. Portions very generous - one serving of the roast would have been enough for us (in our 70s), which meant we couldn't finish it and it goes against grain to waste food at any time, especially current conditions. Happy to go again if we are in the area.

Lovely pub and restaurant. The staff were all very friendly and the food was excellent, especially the pie. It was a proper pie with a top, bottom and sides, filled with meat and gravy. Just the way a pie should be!! We will be back.

lovely hidden little eatery. The menu is varied, snacks or evening meals. lovely atmosphere and the staff are particularly obliging. The menu prices are very fair. The fish and chips were super. Massive meaty fish with gorgeous crispy batter and lovely skin on skinny fries. Very glad I've found this place, particularly if you're on your way to Aberystwyth from the Machynlleth end. Carpark good, not far from entrance.

4th visit now, always good food. Not been disappointed yet. The prawn cocktail was an absolute cracker. Very often ruined in other establishments. Liver,bacon and onions was a treat, the others had duck and the salmon main. Well done. See you again soon.

Went to the Wildflorwer tonight. I went with my husband who has a broken leg and straight away from booking the table to leaving they were so accommodating with sorting a table comfortable enough for him even though they were so busy. We had a lovely blonde lady dealing with us, unfortunately did not catch her name, but she was fantastic. We both had the sirloin steak and it was amazing, best I've had. Will definitely be returning.

Food was lovely and the staff were very accommodating. The pub finished serving food at 8pm and we arrived (4 of us) close to the cut off time but they made us feel very welcome and didn't make us feel like we had to rush. Would definitely recommend this pub.

Right, I've eaten a lot of burgers over the years, but the ones we had last night, were the best I can remember. Proper beef, juicy, tasty, lovely. Do your taste buds a favour and call in. Also, the staff and landlord were lovely and couldn't do enough for us. The pub is very well set up, excellent outdoor area with fairy lights; clean toilets with lots of soap, gel, blower, paper towels. We couldn't have asked for more. We were driving past, saw it, stopped and phoned and despite it being past food time, chef kept open for us. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
