Called in to eat after a day of walking the coastal path. The quality of the food was good, what there was of it. The portion sizes, however, were very small and served on what appeared to be a small side plate. Also, it was expensive.

DISAPPOINTED I booked a table for 2 on 4 October for a pre birthday celebrations When myself & husband turned up all dressed to the nines looking forward to our meal & to our horror it was closed we later found out they had gone on holiday 😕 😕 😕 Cancellation works both ways No phone call off owners to cancel our meal lucky for us the blue deli accommodated us & looked after us even a candle in my desert & singing happy birthday 🎂 & the food & service excellent So if you do book at pepper pot ring before arrival as they can't be trusted

Oof!! my husband booked last minute for an anniversary meal as we managed to score babysitters- I wasn’t keen, as we came here recently and I chose curry as pretty much the only gluten-free option and it was not good. But my husband had reserved me a gluten-free fish dish so we were excited to be out celebrating our anniversary. Unfortunately my meal reservation was abandoned in the shift change. I ended up having to choose the only other option of very strange and unappetising tiny portion of curried carrot soup. An awful lot can be forgiven when you have wonderful staff that make you feel taken care of. This is definitely not the case at the pepperpot. On the upside-gorgeous setting

Went on spec as raining and it was close to carpark, most of the options were absent and specials had gone what we had was good but portions were on the small side and rather expensive, drinks also expensive. Service was ok, had the Welsh stew and a puddings. Might go back to see what other options they have but only maybe. On the whole ok but not quite value for money.

Booked for Sunday lunch and then for a Thursday evening for 2 adults and 2 13 year olds . It’s definitely end of the season. The services were rushed and the staff were not particularly warm or friendly - they just needed to get us through. The food quality is excellent but portion sizes were inconsistent with other diners and we felt small in terms of value for money - coconut Chicken curry had 8 pieces of small diced chicken -£20 Chocolate roulade portion 1/2 size of other diners. We had been recommended this restaurant so were really looking forward to it. The Sunday lunch food quality was ok although service rushed so we thought we’d give them another go but on a normal menu and Again food quality was good, portions small so not good value and service average Such a shame

What came didn’t resemble the Salad Nicoise I had had at other restaurants, lying sadly as it did on a small bed of iceberg lettuce. The pub/bar is nestled in the town of New Quay and has a great veranda eating area, as well as the snug and inviting pub itself. Food quality is very goods and their are some gluten free options and lacto free ice cream too. The pub itself is well laid out and quite cosy, Staff are attentive and kind and the food is very tasty, size of the portions aren't massive but to be honest we all left full, just on a main dish. Toilets are clean and tidy which is nice to the side of the bar. Food pricing is between £6-10 ish for starters and mains are around £20+ for most dishes, £30 for a steak. I would definitely recommend this pub/bar for a lunch/dinner or just for a drink, it has a very good atmosphere and relaxed style. Definitely will definitely go back if I'm in the area again. Our first visit to the east coast of Wales and wanted to treat ourselves to a family meal one of the evenings. We booked easily through the website. Although it was an outside table we were provided blankets and the patio heater was switched on. The waitresses couldn't do anything more for us. Very attentive, and couldn't do anything more for us. As the title suggests, the food was delicious, so good in fact, we booked for Sunday lunch. Everything was cooked to perfection and one of the best meals we've had in a while. We recommend everything on the menu, you won't be disappointed. The duo beef and chicken supreme, was succulent and worth savoring. Sunday lunch, wow, what can we say? Definitely recommend booking in advance, but it is worth the anticipation. Glorious selections of meats, seasonal veg, pigs in blankets (yes in April) and Yorkshire to boot. We had a small one with us and he was easily catered for with their kid friendly menu. We also recommend checking the desserts, if you still have room. Two of the best meals and well worth checking out if you are in the area.

I wish I could eat here all the time, unfortunately for me to do that I would have to travel for 4 hours but believe me this place is worth it! I like to eat out a fair bit and I have been to a number of top restaurants and this is up there with them. I’ve eaten here a couple of times now and everything I eat amazes me and is delicious. Today was no exception, I ordered 3 courses off the festive menu and every course was cooked beautifully and the flavours were delicious (if you choose to eat here you better hope the lamb Bon Bons stay on the menu, they are sooo good )! Between my family, we had a mixture of meat and vegetarian dishes, all were outstanding. The chef out did himself with the goats cheese filo parcel, the flavours were mouthwatering with cranberry and walnuts- the best vegetarian meal we have eaten! The portions are not small and I’m currently sat writing this eating the 2nd filo parcel (my sister didn’t quite manage, as she was soo full). We all walked away feeling satisfied and full. I would walk here just to have the roast again too - I have never been to a place that gets everything on the plate perfect until today. If you haven’t tried here - book in!! I’m from a farming background and the meat was cooked the right way and was very tasty! I wish I could book in for New Years Eve as the menu looks Devine! Ps Even the cocktails - just amazing!!

We were made to feel so welcome even in our very sandy walking boots, waterproof trousers and accompanied by our wet and muddy dog. Sunday roast for two was really tasty, two of the biggest Yorkshires I’ve seen, plenty of meat and crunchy roast potatoes. An apple and a rhubarb crumble set us back out on our walk. Thank you

The pepper Pot is situated a stones throw from the picturesque village of New Quay. This pub is full of character The bar and grill offers locally sourced home cooked pub classics with an upmarket feel and taste, along with a specials board updated regularly. Although the classics and standard menu is more than enough to keep you coming back for more, the specials board is where you will find what really sets the Pepper Pot apart from the rest. We visited whenever we had the chance and tried everything we could. Firstly, the Sunday dinner, having arrived without a booking, the staff were very accommodating and made room for us between reservations. They were extremely attentive, kind-hearted, and welcoming. The dinner itself was compact and packed a real punch with everything home made and cooked using fresh and local ingredients. The Lamb was plentiful, juicey, and tender served with a handful of tasty roast potatoes, a large wedge of stuffing, seasonal greens, and a lone roast carrot and pig in blanket. What it lacks in size it more than makes up for in quality and taste. The Oysters were freshly caught and prepared. They tasted just like the ocean, perfectly pared with tobassco and lemon to break up the flavors mild flavour of the Oysters. The classic fish and chips. The cod was cooked with care and attention, the batter golden brown, crispy and fragrant, with the fish soft flakey and mild tasting. The double cooked chips were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside some of the best fish and chips I've had. Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Price ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ variety ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Seating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Atmosphere ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Parking ⭐️

Have been to the Pepper Pot numerous times and alway had fantastic high quality food. Quality seems to have slipped somewhat now though. High priced food with pub chain quality. The patatas bravas on the tapas menu were a particular low, crisps with some ketchup on them for £5! When queried the miss sell of these were told “that’s how the chef does them” with a complete disregard from the waitress to our thoughts and them not actually being patatas bravas. I can’t think of a time I’d ever pay £5 for some crisps especially ones that quickly went soggy. Not so sure we will be back again.

Couldn't wait to eat here as most of the reviews were positive. The good ----- the staff were very polite and welcoming. It's dog friendly. The food was quite tasty. The not so good ------- Don't go if you're hungry as the portions are very small. The food is very over priced for the portion size, I had the special, seafood paella. Wow, so disappointed, came in a medium sized bowl which was half full. 3 prawns, 7 mussels - of which 3 were empty, 3 clams- of which 2 were empty and a few small cockles. £24!!! Terrible value for money. My husband had the burger sliders, onion rings and chips. Not too bad portion wise but a small amount of chips. Dessert was apple and blackberry crumble with a thimble full of cold custard. No fruit as such, more of a puree. I only had a dessert as I was starving after the paella. Husband had a white chocolate roulade which was nice but again, 1 small slice. £7 each! I did bring our disappointment to the lovely waitress and asked her to let the chef know, surely, if you advertise something as a special then it must include an ample portion of what it's advertising - not the small offering I received! When presented with the bill, the waitress stated she had added a small discount - this was small too 10%. To add insult to injury, the waitress asked us if we wanted any sauces etc to go with our meal so I asked for parmesan to go with my paella. It was literally a tablespoon of grated cheese for the additional price of £2!! Really?? I'm surprised my husband wasn't charged for his ketchup!! To sum up, the food was tasty, just very stingy with the portion sizes and very over priced - no wonder it was empty there.

What a brilliant find for our wedding anniversary. We dined with 3 of our grandchildren. The staff engaged perfectly with them. Great menu, especially the specials board. We commented that this was the best seafood we had received outside of France. Great food and service,...

Our first visit under the new management. So impressed with food, service and staff. Excellent selection of fish on the specials board, served with plenty of imagination by a first class chef. All the staff were friendly, professional and the majority spoke to us in...

Great food, best we had in New Quay. Lovely staff too, I'd advise booking though as walk ins would need luck.

Ate here three times during our stay in New Quay this weekend. Evening meal was excellent, beautiful fresh fish caught locally. Breakfast also delicious and all staff very friendly with attentive service. We will definitely be back!

Went here yesterday as per someones review. I was honestly disappointed. The food took 45 minutes to get to us. When it turned up the meat was nice, Yorkshire pudding was cold and the veg was served in a small bowl, limited veg. The gravy...

Popped in Sunday 13th august. Welsh folk music sounded great although no idea what they sang about. The reduced menu dishes were incredibly good, we really enjoyed and look forward to another visit when back in this wonderful part of the world.

This is an absolutely dire establishment. The service was beyond poor and the food was nothing to make up for this. We were waiting 45 minutes for our starters and when they finally arrived they weren’t worth the wait. The scallops were minuscule and overcooked and the advertised black pudding accompaniment was no where to be found. This laughable portion size left me disappointed and hungry after the long wait. The steak ordered medium rare and 10oz arrived as a 6oz at best pale grey disgrace that left me ashamed to have even given this establishment so much as a penny. Now over an hour and a half into this fiasco we are left a further 30 mins with empty plates and bored looks. When service finally arrived they were rude and unconcerned. When we asked for the bill we got a short “right” then were left a further 10 minutes waiting. We had another booking later that week and when we FINALLY got the bill we politely asked to cancel that booking and before the sentence was finished the unconcerned waitress interrupted to say “cancel, it?” in a snide voice. Absolutely avoid this place like the plague.

Popped in to have a salad which was great but a very small portion for £17. It was very overpriced and I was so hungry I had to order chips as an extra which turned up in a bowl more fit for pea nuts. Great food but massively overpriced. Shame really.
