Whole evening spoilt by large mixed table getting louder all the time, became unbearable the racous laughing & shouting upsetting everyone else spoiling the evening, the staff not bothered just kept plying with more & more alcohol, also a couple next to us & the lady vaping at the dining table. Complained to the staff at end of meal just an apology, could so have been different if a member of staff nipped it in the bud earlier. £85 spent wish had gone to The Harboumaster, come on Y Celer you can do beter than this.ps (same day Wales lost the rugby) .Hope Tyglyn isnt going to be the same !

As a regular visitor to Aberaeron, I have passed this restaurant many times but has always been booked . I went on a Wednesday night and didn't regret the wait .I had the beef cheek and mash, and due to me miss reading the menu, an extra side of Mash. What a happy accident the cheek was fall apart, delicious, and the Mash was something special .My wife who is vegan said her meal was that good she would eat it every day. Well worth the wait.

Spent a night in the bar having drinks, the local bar man was amazing was great very attentive & we had a good chat with him, made us feel very welcome.x

Absolutely amazing place to stay. Really modern with a cosy feel, the bedroom was beautiful and so well equipped with the comfiest bed. For breakfast there were so many great options, and it was delicious. HIGHLY recommend Y Seler, staff were lovely too!

Lovely pub with a good atmosphere. Good parking facilities that are free of charge. Friendly staff who served us quickly. Toilet facilities were clean.

We love this bar and restaurant. Our favourite in Aberaeron and one we re-visit whenever we're there. A great atmosphere, lovely staff, good range of wines and beer and good food.

Had a lovely coffee & veggie breakfast at Y Seler. Well worth a visit.

We didn’t stay at the hotel; instead, we had our dinner at Y Seler last night for a little pre-Christmas gathering. We live locally, so it wasn’t our first time at this restaurant. This place never disappoints—it only gets better! The attention to detail, the warm welcome, and the brilliant service throughout the evening were all outstanding. And of course, the food was exceptional! The duck, beef filet, and mussels were all beautifully presented and delicious. Thank you, and Merry Christmas, Y Seler! 🎄

Unimpressed. I had one of only 2 vegetarian options on the menu and it was so bland and completely over priced. I paid £17 for a chickpea burger (no flavour just mushy chickpeas) on a bun with 1 tomato and a thin spread of mayo. There was a iceburg salad with a drizzle of dressing & 2 beetroot. I left hungry! The staff were lovely and the wine was nice... Which are what the 3 stars are for. I honestly can say I've had better veggie food at westherspoons!

Didn't stay. Just had a meal in Y Seler restaurant. Staff were perfect in every way. Food was really good... except for one thing. My wife and I both ordered burgers. Everything about the burger was great... except for the low quality of the patty itself. Mine had numerous grisly bits and an overall lack of flavour. All other dishes looked great and there were no issues at all.

I didn't stay there but had a Sunday lunch and it was amazing. Perfect in every way. Amazing pannacotta to finish it all off. Lovely staff, it was a good laugh forgetting the word shandy and having to explain what it was to the waitress 😂 lovely place, will defo come back!

We came to Aberaeron specifically to eat at Y Seler, after seeing an article about the restaurant. I live near San Francisco, and the boyfriend has been in SE Asia for two months. We love great food and will go to some lengths to get it! Y Seler is a world-class restaurant. Top-tier local ingredients, imaginative flavors (pigeon breast appetizer!), beautiful preparations and clean, unpretentious presentation. The service was excellent, friendly and helpful, atmosphere was convivial and the setting is gorgeous. We shared the pigeon appetizer, and for mains I had the duck confit and he had the Welsh beef fillet. All of it made us close our eyes and moan with pleasure. Hopefully not too loudly. Also a shout out to Mark at the bar for making a kick ass old-fashioned and a dry, refreshing Aperol spritz. The room was exceptionally comfortable and intriguingly high-tech, the waterfall showerhead gave a hot and powerful shower experience, the views were extraordinary, and all the service was superb. Absolutely perfect stay. We’ll be spreading the word about Y Seler wherever we go. (Also my family is Welsh, so I have a passion for letting the world know that there is incredible food available in Wales) Thanks for a great experience.

Fine dining in a beautiful setting (although you have to look past the coastal erosion works in the harbour atm!). Our starters were especially delicious; my crab salad elegant and fresh, his moules the creamiest he’s ever had! The restaurant and bar areas were modern, yet cosy and welcoming. Service was charming and attentive. A little gem!

Evening meal here. Very high standards of service, quality and sophistication. Clearly as popular with locals as tourists.

Lovely food and staff, great drinks too, though very busy at the bars so often a queue of keen customers. I was told the rooms were wonderful by friends who were staying.

We called in on arrival in Aberaeron in the afternoon and received a warm welcome and booked for the evening. We chose to take their very reasonably tapas offer and ate in the Piano Bar, which had a great atmosphere. We are big tapas lovers and all dishes were brilliant, and with generous portions too. Service was friendly and efficient throughout and we had a super evening.

We have stated at numerous hotels in Wales over the last few years including those that offer full board. Without a doubt Y Seler is the very best we’ve stayed in. The quality of the food (dinner & breakfast) and staff is exceptional. The rooms are modern and well equipped. We would really struggle to find something we weren’t happy with.

Just home after a delicious meal at Y Seler this evening. Fresh, modern plates of food were served by engaged and courteous staff. The scallops and crab salad starters come highly recommended. My husband loved the lamb rump main and the sea trout on sea vegetables was excellent. Surprise of the night was that I unexpectedly enjoyed freshly baked bread with marmite butter!!! Will definitely visit again if we come down to Aberaeron in the future.

Really lovely Boutique Hotel lots of attention to detail. Lounge areas very comfortable and stylish. Staff were so friendly. Lovely restaurant, but also a high end take away with restaurant and waiting service at rear with lovely views. Will definitely be back, planning to visit August bank holiday for the festival next year. Maybe even sooner.

Lovely location. Excellent, well presented and thought out food. Quick and friendly service. Cocktails overlooking the heart of Aberaeron.

Stopped for a nice cup of tea before driving home. Staff were very friendly.

Big Restaurant bar with three separate areas first area is Bar area Nice when it’s quiet as there’s not many places to sit Also does a bar menu a bit cheaper than resteraunt area Also a restaurant where booking is advised most times which offers fine dining and tapas small plates Good for a special occasion as prices for mains between £20 to £30 Also a nice outdoor terrace which does good pizzas for £12 View a bit spoiled at moment by the never ending harbour works scheme

Food cooked to the highest quality! Quite honestly the best lamb I’ve ever had! And great service to match! Can’t wait to return and would highly recommend a visit

Tapas lunch - definitely worth a visit

Abbiamo scoperto per caso, durante una sosta sulla costa, questo ristorante molto elegante ma con prezzi onesti. Staff accogliente, servizio rapido. Ottimo pesce, ben presentato, abbiamo assaggiato alici e gamberetti come antipasti, e fettuccine al granchio davvero buone (anche se un po' piccanti; dite di non aggiungere peperoncino). Consigliato per un piacevole pranzo.

Franchement c’est bien, c’est sympa c’est bon, c’est frais, c’est rapide. Il n’y a vraiment rien a dire d’autant que le rapport qualité prix est de la partie . Dans sa gamme ce restaurant excelle. Je le recommande vivement si vous passez un moment a Abaeraron.

Had a family dinner here. The food and service was impeccable. As Londoners we thought it was good value for money. Casual atmosphere with sophisticated food.

Absolutely LOVE this bar. A fantastic mix of locals and visitors. You can be as casual or as smart as you fancy, it’s such an easy place to sit and chill with a pint or a cocktail. Pizzas and small plates are also delish. Runs like clockwork, the staff are truly exceptional, and it’s just the best bar to hang out in.

Looking for a cup of coffee and a seat out of the baking heat! A good place to watch the world go by. The coffee wasn't up to standard, weak and watery. Didn't find the staff particularly friendly, but certainly attentive. The restaurant is very 'swish' with high standard fittings and all very clean and tidy. Prices were in line with the appearance. A good place for a seaside meal. Parking is available nearby. The harbour area is undergoing major improvement works and this is disruptive in the short term.

We have just returned from a special stay here. The food was amazing, even the children's menu was tasty and of a high standard. The portions look small but they are deceivingly filling. Everything was perfect made even better with the first class service given. Special thanks to the lady waiting our table who was very engaging and included our daughter in conversation. The room was gorgeous and modern with a view over the courtyard and the harbour beyond. The Welsh Breakfast was incredible. We can't thank Y Seler enough for making our stay so enjoyable. We will definitely be back.

Lovely hotel with fabulous food

We were staying here over a weekend and we really loved it! Booking process was easy and Rachel was very helpful, she make sure we have everything ready for our stay. Room was amazing with beautiful view over a river, a lot of amenities like electric blinds and Bluetooth speakers in the room was great addition. All staff were really friendly and helpfull. Pizza from the oven was fabulous (thank you Mateusz!) As well as a breakfast and dinner. High quality food which tasted and looked amazing. Ewelina served us really well and her suggestions for food ans drinks were on point! Paul at the bar serving great deinks so definitely try it! We really recommend staying here! Definitely will be back in the future.

Went again with my wife. What a change. The food was outstanding as was the service. Lovely vibe for a special evening out.

I booked my party of four in the restaurant for brunch at 10:45am, so it was a bit quiet when we were there. Excellent brunch menu, everyone enjoyed what they had, 2 of us had Eggs Royal; one a fried breakfast and another avocado on toast. We ordered fresh orange juice and coffee too. The bar area is very stylish, and maybe the smartest WCs in Cardiganshire! Intend to book again for lunch and have the tapas, maybe next month? If the weather is good suggest have your meal on the terrace - sorry about the civil engineering works at the nearby waterside, expected to be ongoing all 2024!

Great service from the staff, great food, great environment, with a choice of verandas overlooking the harbour. Also great for gluten free diners if you need this.

The wife and I had an evening meal here. The wife has some allergies and intolerances, to onions garlic certain mushrooms and fructose. The staff were very helpful, the chef went to the trouble of making a sauce especially for her. They allowed her to use a tonic that we brought with us that did not contain fructose. The food was exceptional and for what we had, 2 mains and 2 desserts a large glass of wine and a gin, the cost was also very acceptable. Thanks again for a great experience.

Ate twice here in our week stay in the area. Service was great, food is absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the mussels!! The decor inside is absolutely beautiful too. Thank you 😊

Starters were lovely Unfortunately most of your meals contained garlic so i was pretty limited to what i could have. Also my main came covered in chilli flakes which wasn't stated on the menu so , unfortunately i couldn't eat it

Nipped in for tea and cake quite late in the afternoon on a cold January day the staff as always really pleasant and the cakes very nice, we have been a few times for meals and it's always beautiful food and pleasant staff.

Had a meal here this evening. Fantastic lamb but the chicken my wife had the chicken breast, I tried a bit and it was the most tender chicken breast I’ve ever had. Thoroughly enjoyed and will go back. Friendly waitresses.

We came here for my 30th birthday with family and friends. The staff were fantastic. Nothing to much and waited on us all night efficiently. Food was delicious! Highly recommend.

Food presentation was very appealing, amazing flavours and and choice. When told I needed a dairy free meal the waiting staff could not have been more helpful. They all gave excellent customer service. Enjoyed dinner so much went back following day.

Beautiful views and lovely interior. We had dinner here our first night in Aberaeron. The food was delicious and their vegetarian nut roast was divine. The ladies at the bar and serving the tables were jovial and helpful.

Had the sea food linguine which was superb. Some cobwebs/spiders in the corner of the room which wasn't to my wife's liking and was a bit cold upon entering the restaurant downstairs until they finally put the heating on. Lovely refurbished restaurant and wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

Each year, we try and visit the gorgeous West Wales coast. More often than not, we stop and shop in the gloriously pretty Aberaeron. After stopping for a quick cuppa and half a cider, we noted how good the menu looked so booked for the last evening of this year's holiday. In short: The staff attention is absolutely superb. The food and presentation, absolutely superb. I eat mussels everywhere I go near any coast, these were the first 10/10 ever! My wife and daughter devoured the best leak and potato soup they have ever had. We all opted for steaks and were completely delighted with the cooking and tenderness with perfect accompaniments, all, you guessed it, absolutely superb! On the last day of a holiday, a knickerbocker glory is impossible to ignore, so we overstuffed on a sharer, again superb. I generally only try to review the best and worst we visit. I'm not sure 2, 3 or 4 votes help much. If there were a 6/5 option, Y Seler deserves it and we cannot wait to return to Aberaeron, thank you so very much to all the delightful staff for a brilliant, memorable dining experience.

Had pre booked a table for myself and wife at 5.15pm on Saturday. Had read good things regarding the establishment and I am delighted to endorse what others have said and have to say what a great place. We both ordered starters and mains and the food was superb in all fairness in a nice seating area downstairs inside the restaurant. The staff were very attentive and polite and friendly. Food wise I ordered a welsh beef fillet which came with fries and roasted vine tomatoes. To compliment this I ordered side of peppercorn sauce and garlic mushrooms. The wife ordered mussels in a fantastic sauce. All in all a great experience and would not hesitate to book again if in the locality.

Lovely food, good choice of wines and not over priced Sunday lunch I personally think is good value for what you get. Staff were amazing with our 10 month old daughter, very welcoming of families too.

Dined at 6. Breakfast. Lunch and Tapas also served Food excellent. Service excellent. Just the right amount of food. Really great. Ate: pigeon, scallops, pork cheek, fillet steak and duck. All cooked really expertly. The whole set up is a fantastic operation. Drinks in the bar. Wide range of cocktails. Staff are very well trained and friendly. Don’t miss a visit here. Nothing is too much trouble. Summer set up looks fabulous. We will be back.

Delicious meal for our wedding anniversary, the food was amazing from the soup to the Eton Mess. Wonderful service, could not fault. Highly recommend a visit.

Our family had been extolling the virtues of this restaurant for sometime, so it was in anticipation of a high quality culinary experience when we recently visited. The service was first class, while the quality of the food exceeded our high expectations. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were at pains to ensure that everything was as required. I was unfortunately driving but fellow diners were able to vouch for the quality of the wine recommended to accompany the meal. An excellent overall experience - diolch yn fawr

Great little place for a couple of pints. I haven't had the food there yet, but I have had a lot of reccomendations from the locals to try it. Service is excellent, beer is a good price and it's a nice friendly atmosphere. 4* (Because I haven't tried the food, everything else is on point though)

Booked a table Saturday evening to celebrate my daughters birthday. We were greeted by the staff and shown to our table. The service was excellent and the food was absolutely exceptional, beautiful decor and very friendly helpful staff. Would highly recommend a visit. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

What can I say except glowing review. Went here 3 times while on holiday. Had Sunday Lunch was fantastic, had evening meal again couldn't fault then breakfast. Wish it was near my home. Staff really friendly.

Popped in for lunch, lovely place, contemporary and chilled. Had the tapas muscles and also belly pork, and mum had the sea bass. Muscles were perfectly cooked and the sauce was delicious, the belly pork wasn’t crispy, but it was nice. Sea bass was well cooked as were the accompanying fries. Only negative was there was a lot of dressing on the salad accompanying this, so maybe we’ll just ask for it on the side next time. Just a little pricey, but good quality.

When we arrived we were given the Restaurant menus and the tapas menu. We decided we would like a light meal to share so went for the Tapas and it was fabulous - shall be visiting here again. The whole place has a lovely contemporary ambience.

Went to the cellar on a whim due to not going before and we were amazed the quality of food and service! The food was pristine in display and tastes incredible the choice of drinks were also very well picked (I have a new favourite red!) If you're looking for a special meal out this is the place, it's a little more expensive than other resturants around but it's worth it, I'd treat it as a miller and carter's type establishment, but with a view ! Edit: went again on my birthday and it ceases to amaze me how great this place is, tucked away, it feels like a hidden gem.

Although I reside in Essex, and wine and dine in the essex/london surroundings, i was born in wales and come back to my mother land as much as I can to visit family. My father moved to Aberaeron a few years back and our regular place to meet for food and drinks was always typically a place round the corner that is well known. Since losing dad last Christmas I ventured away from our usual place to make new memories but despite visiting both venues within the last two days, Y Seler was miles better. Caryl was a very proactive assistant, conscious of our arrival and asked us what menu we’d like to view, answered our questions about the menu, and her efficiency was unarguably perfect. This was a truly enjoyable experience and thank you Caryl
