Went on Saturday for a school reunion. Lovely atmosphere. Enjoyed the visit. It would be good to have more choice of wine than Jack Rabitt. Not a fan of that but still enjoyed. Staff were lovely

Just had Sunday lunch in the angel n wot a lovely atmosphere n nice warm welcome food served was piping hot n everything cooked to perfection beef melted in your mouth definitely b back x

Monday night is cask ale night, half price 😉

The stuffing layer was really thick. The potato was blackened in the middle and not cooked through properly so couldn't be eaten.

Hello We quite often visit crossways Caerphilly and Paul (The manager) and the staff are always very accommodating . Great food and an all round great time. Tonight was no exception but I need to say and extra huge thank you to a lady called Keeley (sorry if I spelt it wrong) My daughter who is 7 was choking on a tortilla and I went into panick mode and couldn’t help her everything was a bit of a blur but i was shouting for help I Remember keeley coming over very calmly and taking my daughter and doing the correct manoeuvres to dislodge the tortilla I cannot thank her, Paul and all the other members of staff who helped and were concerned. We were checked on throughout the rest of our stay and my daughter was given an ice cream as she didn’t want her food. Paul also kept asking if I was ok as I think I was in shock for a while. Without the correctly trained staff, this could have been much worse keeley absolutely saved my daughter tonight and I’ll be eternally grateful there was a young boy who works there that was concerned too. I cannot thank them all enough ❤️

Food is always good Staff are great

This was an awful experience. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone ! We walked into the pub to a fausty smell and as sitting we noticed it was unhygienic and grubby. We ordered food that came quickly, it looked nice but had an odd bland taste and was very dry. The cutlery had not been cleaned properly and were covered in food from previous customers !!! Our drinks were served in filthy glasses that I had to ask to be changed. There was a member of staff serving behind the bar, that in my opinion, I would say they need to be retrained on manners, customer values, their appearances and appropriate work attire. I believe this place needs a re-inspection on health and hygiene safety standards. TOTALLY DISGUSTING !!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!

Me and my friend with a gluten intolerance both came for food, the service from iestyn, Steve, Callum and Ethan was impeccable honestly couldn’t have asked for more dealt with the allergy amazing and the food was delicious!

Nice pub with good beer but why dose the manager allow people to vape in this pub doesn't he no its not allowed I definitely won't be back in till he stops people from vaping

We were a group of 17 booked well in advance giving this pub a pre order so all well organised from our party. This was a special celebration for a 60th birthday for my sister. The food came out all at different times and a huge wait just for the starters. There was one waitress who was lovely and obviously under pressure. We had to go and find one of our meals after an huge wait and get it ourselves from the kitchen , everyone else had finished their mains. The desserts arrived and the custard was freezing cold. Poor food some overcooked so left not eaten. I asked the waitress to let the manager know we were unhappy but he or she did not come over to see what the issues were. We had to clear our tables for each course ourselves. When paying at the bar the member of staff again very polite and did apologise. I have never experienced anything like this before and would NOT recommend this place.

A lovely pub n owners n staff.gutted they retiring but all the best 2m 4 the future n happy Xmas.hope gets sold soon.

Was surprised to learn that the hygiene rating was a 2 not surprised by the quality of food I was served tbh, the chips were terrible had a weird taste to them I don’t know if it’s the oil or what but they weren’t very nice I ordered a sausage in batter which in all honesty was grim food from here in last couple of months of gone down hill so much so I won’t be returning an using express takeaway chip shop down the road
