Red Kite in Caerphilly

Came for a friend's birthday, just the two of us. Very friendly and helpful staff, made us feel valued and very welcome. The food was hot and served quickly and the sherry trifle dessert is a must. We'll certainly be coming more often in the future. We stayed for over two hour's.

Good was fresh, tasty and decent for value for money. Pub was clean and generally friendly. Lost a star because I had a 25% off taste card (which wasn't working on their till) so used the 25% off meerkat discount instead which also didn't work on their till despite being locations who accept. The supervisor blamed both individual apps and said nothing they could do and not their problem, I'd guess the problem was the venue and not two independent individual apps. Shame

Stopped in for Sunday lunch. We hadn't booked but were accommodated without a delay. Sadly they don't do sugar drinks it's all zero drinks which we can't drink on medical grounds. Ended up with a glass of water as I was dedicated driver.

The Red Kite has become a favourite for us to visit. The staff are always friendly, polite, welcoming and helpful. The pub itself is always clean and really inviting. The food never disappoints. It is always beautiful and great value for money. It is not our local, but we prefer to travel to the Red Kite for the exceptional all-round experience. Thanks!

Lovely open space, staff friendly and food delish 😋

We were greeted at the door, shown to our table and explained how service was being taken. Kind and courteous and clean. Staff were helpful as one of our group is GF and confidence was there in knowing she mattered and they took the allergy seriously. The whole team were fantastic and can't wait to go back again.

I have nothing but good things to say, there was 11 of us sat down for a family get together, the service was absolutely impeccable, every single meal was delivered piping hot, and cooked to perfection, well done to all who work at the red kite, our experience was truly amazing, thank you.

10 of us went in xmas eve after finiishing work at just gone 3pm for a xmas drink. There were empty tables but we were told we couldn't have seats as these were needed incase people wanted food, we stood very awkwardly which was not relaxing or enjoyable went for a second drink only to be told 'don't look at me I'm on my break' no christmas spirit, no customer service and as we left there were over 30 empty seats where we could have been seated awful won't be going there again

No christmas spirit group of 10 people just finished work,told no place to sit down,loads of empty seats, we would have stayed longer,about seats when we left??shocking how the staff treated us

There was a lovely atmosphere with Santa walking around chatting to the children . All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful The food was delicious and delivered in a timely manner .

Amazing service, Lauren was incredible at serving us. We absolutely loved it. And the food was amazing and very helpful, with me being lactose intolerant. We will definitely be back before our stay in Caerphilly is over.

I love the 3 tiers of seating areas and the manager is very hand on , ensuring you are greeted and well looked after

Gorgeous food, generous portions and all came out lovely and fresh and hot. Was surprised there wasn't many decorations considering we are quite close to Christmas

We arrived at 7.30pm and were told on arrival that the kitchen closed at 8pm.. already seeming keen to persuade us not to eat there. We ordered swiftly and I feel They should have told us to order dessert before 8.30 if that was their rule.. we proceeded to try and order dessert at 8.32pm and were told no very hard faced and eager to get rid. Food was good, service not so friendly.

A lovely warm welcome . Good menu ideally priced and was certainly good value . Would certainly return.

Been to the red kite a few times when it was two for one and the food was quite nice, visited it today and had steak pie and chips and was greatly disappointed no meat in the pie chips were not very hot and gravy was like an oxo cube stired in water it was not the best.Dont know what's happened to it such a shame

Your floor manager and all the other staff are really incredible. I've visited many places around the world and the great service your staff provide is really lovely to watch and quite rare now. I'm very honest with my reviews and I would say that the operation is truly fantastic. Well done to them.

Great place to eat. Lovely food and great staff. I did go when it was quiet, mid-day working week. Can get a little crowded and staff overworked when it is busy. Seats are quite close together as well if it's only 2-4 people eating.

Although busy, we still received a good prompt service and despite an alarm going off knocking the grill off!

Came for a Sunday Roast with the parents and waw we were impressed. I had the turkey and parents had the beef. We were pleasantly surprised the quality of the food. Service was fast and staff were polite as well as helpful. Definetely will come again.

This booking was a family meal to celebrate a 40th birthday, as always a warm friendly welcome from the staff, our table was ready even though we were a little early, the service was fast, friendly and very efficient. We were a party of 11 and most of us had different choices from the menu, the food was served all at the same time and was hot and delicious. We took a birthday cake with us and asked for it to be brought to our table after the meal which a member of staff did with no fuss or hassle. Thank you to all the staff, great food and a friendly and relaxed visit.

What a brilliant place for food, the staff are just wonderful I had the burger deal with a drink and the food was better than expected we both left full and again the staff could not just do enough for you. We will be visiting again soon and recommending to friends and family

My son choose the Redkite for his birthday meal. Sadly my food, the vegetarian burger, was just pure stodge and greasy, well below anything I could cook at home. The venue was 1/3 full, not like it used to be many years ago. It was not my choice of venues as my partner and myself visited a few weeks ago, I had the veggie curry which was rediculously hot and I like a hot curry! sadly I was sick before I left the venue as something in that curry did not suit my stomach. The price on drinks are that of the centre of Cardiff and not the outskirts of Caerphilly, £6.20 for a pint of lager is too expensive, £3.85 for a glass of Coke for children! Sadly will not be returning, the dog running around the tables having it's evening run sealed a no return for me. I often take my dogs to dog friendly pubs but surely they need to be on a lead and well behaved! Very dissapointing evening out.

We dined here for a family birthday party. It was nice to have a NGCI menu readily available and, compared to some restaurants, the choice was pretty good. Our server, Jared, was very helpful, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was good, although portions could have been slightly larger for some of the main meals. Would definitely dine here again in the future.

The staff were friendly and helpful, we were served quickly without being pressured and the food was lovely. It was just a shame that we had to go back to work or we would have stayed longer.

Made to feel welcome, shown to our table with explanations about service. Very quickly (bit too quick for me) asked if we ready to order. I asked for Mixed Grill and my partner Sausage and Mash. Food came in a reasonable time. Only issue I had was I asked for the steak to be medium but was overcooked and tough!! Apart from that all was good.

Very busy when we arrived and some people weren't happy about the length of time they had to wait for their meals but we weren't in a hurry and were happy to wait. Sherry trifle cheesecake was lovely but could have done with a little bit more custard.

I was served by lovely chap at the bar, whose name I remember as jarred. Ordered the hunters chicken and a lovely meal was served to me by Kate whose service was amazing and remembered not include the rocket, Amelia was also very friendly. What a lovely pub and what lovely grub, will be a regular face at this place ☺️

Very helpful staff, extremely polite and knowledgeable. Hardly any wait for our drinks and meals. All food was hot, which is rare in some pubs. The food tasted lovely and we sent back four empty plates. First class on everything.

It was extremely busy our son was celebrating his 17th birthday. He has autism and where we were seated was too busy and noisy for him so we asked to move round to the quieter area and was immediately taken round. The staff were amazing and very accommodating

The staff were friendly, service was quick and prices were reasonable for this day and age. The food was decent too, so all in all a nice experience.

We are here in Caerphilly overnight on business and came to have dinner here at The Red Kite this evening. The staff were so friendly the moment we walked through the door, with our dog, and right away they mentioned that they could do things like cooked chicken for her. The meals were very tasty and filling and the staff are all super friendly and helpful. They really went the extra mile to not only make our meals special, but also accommodate our dog who we love so very much. It made the entire experience so much more meaningful. These days it's not just about the food you serve, it's about the experience from the venue and it's staff and tonight The Red Kite here in Caerphilly stole the show. Thank you so so much for making the evening one to enjoy and remember. Our dog Zali loved her chicken, which was cooked to perfection. 10/10

Haven't been to this pub since they had their refreshing new look! Was welcomed by Adam who sat us down and explained how the pub worked, when going to the bar for drinks I was served by Joel, both were very knowledgeable and happy to be there. Thank you!

Always lovely food, great prices and super friendly staff. We popped in last night with no notice but got given a table straight away :) The week day food & drink offers are great too, especially in the current climate, makes eating out, having a treat more affordable for families. The table service is always super speedy and you're never waiting around very long for your orders. The staff always pop over to check everything is ok and see if we have everything we need. Overall, another great meal here. Ooh, great parking facilities too. Will always return :)

Lovely meal on a Friday afternoon, we were welcomed and served by a very attentive young lady called Lauren. We had fish n chips and pie n chips and the fish was perfectly cooked crispy batter not too oily and the pie was cooked to perfection. We are visiting from out of town but if we were locals to the area we would most definitely come back again and again .

Came with my friend and my daughter for food. Absolutely delicious all staff were amazing I seen a young girl working very hard cleaning felt awful for bothering her my dessert got delivered wrong but she was more than happy to help and it came back so fast. This is why 5 stars. I asked her name and if I remember right it was Katy. Lovely young lady. All other staff were too! Definitely be returning

We have eaten here many times before and for many different occasions and party size. Can honestly say last night the food was the best we had eaten here and the service was also exceptionally good. Very happy with everything on this occasion

As a coeliac, eating out is a very fraught experience for me , however , not only is there a varied gluten free menu at Red Kite, the staff are also very knowledgable about allergens in food . Well done Red Kite , you have made eating out a pleasure again !!

Visited mid afternoon on a Saturday, a bit of a weird time for dinner but on our way to a wedding evening we needed an early, small dinner. Restaurant had a large birthday party on over one side, and we were placed far away over the other side near a couple of other small tables of guests. Brilliant service by the door staff, and service followed suit with quick table service for drinks and food. Friendly staff who didn't mind us changing a couple of the food sides either. Food was cheap but hearty and simply good pub grub. It's not claiming to be a 5* experience but it did much better than other similar places we've been to in the past. Restaurant was clean, no messy tables, no sticky floors, clean toilets also! Ambience was nice and the staff looked happy and attentive. No faults here. Overall a great visit, would recommend to others and come back again if we're in the area. Well done to all at the Red Kite Caerphilly!!
