Myself and my daughter went here for lunch, our food arrived fairly quickly. We wasn't offered any cutlery, napkins, or sauces. The food wasn't even hot. We will not be going here again.

Food was ok but my friend wanted the chicken platter meal but couldn't have it as she has a fish allergy & was told that the chicken is cooked in the same fryer oil as the fish!!!!

Lovely meal out with family, clean toilets, quick service, reasonable prices

We have been visiting this venue since it opened. Since the current team have been in attendance, the service, the quality of food and the attitude of staff is outstanding. The supervisor, Leon leads an excellent team who all seem happy in their work.

I had a quick catch up meal with a friend, I was fast and efficient but quite chain restaurant like, which is obviously to be expected. That said the food was nice and the staff were polite and helpful. It's a Dog friendly pub if that bothers you or aids you.

We ordered via the app and service was super quick. Everyone enjoyed their food. We had a voucher for money off the mains and found the price for 5 of us very reasonable. Staff were very friendly.

Ok, it’s a busy day but the pub was not at full capacity. We were warned of a “30-40 minute wait”, this became well more than an hour. One of our group has allergies. This was explained when ordering and accepted by the staff. When the food arrived the allergy sufferers dish had an item that should have been on another order and vice versa. A bit worrying as the allergy sufferers dish should be prepared with ONLY what was ordered on it! This shows a lack of attention to very important detail! The food itself, was far from the usual standard. My fish was overcooked to the point that it was dry and chewy. The chips had black speckles like you see in overworked burnt oil that needs changing. A member of staff walked past and said, “is everything all ok with your meal”, and was gone before I could open my mouth. The final result, three far from empty plates. Very disappointed as my previous visits here have been good.

Although busy, we still received a good prompt service and despite an alarm going off knocking the grill off!

Great meal staff were excellent only issue my bill came to £ 55 and I bought the young lady a drink which took me bill to £62 so please be careful apart from that we enjoyed ourselves regards Keith

I’ve been visiting The Red Kite for many years, ever since it first opened, and have always appreciated the service, casual atmosphere catering to all & quality of the food. Unfortunately, I’ve decided that today will be my last visit. Whilst I’m not a dog owner, I’ve generally accepted dogs being allowed inside the pub, even though it’s never been something I’m entirely comfortable with. That said, there should be reasonable boundaries—and for me, allowing dogs to sit on upholstered chairs crosses the line. When I asked the landlady whether it was acceptable for dogs to be allowed on chairs, she looked at me as though I was the odd one for questioning it. I had expected her to ask the customer to remove the dog, but instead, the issue was brushed off entirely. That response was honestly quite disappointing however it’s unfair to alienate staff on such an issue & you would generally hope guests wouldn’t put staff in such a position … ultimately, there’s a general code of practice in catering establishments, just because it’s not prohibited I wouldn’t dream of allowing my 7 year old son to stand on a chair or put his feet on the table edge. With all due respect, I don’t want to sit in a restaurant on a chair where a dog has just been standing on or rubbing against. It’s personal perogative in someone’s home, but in a public dining space, it simply doesn’t feel appropriate. I can’t imagine I’m alone in feeling this way, and decisions like this may end up alienating loyal customers who value cleanliness and comfort when eating out. It’s frustrating, especially as I’ve enjoyed many meals here over the years and live just around the corner. But from now on, I’ll be choosing places that prioritise hygiene—even if it means travelling further and paying more.

Food was just ok. The vegetarian curry didn’t come with a naan bread or poppadom like the meat curry did, yet is the same price! Other items were also missing. Ordered an extra portion of chips and only got a small handful. Overall not good value for money.

Food was lovely and plenty of it for the price. Service after being ordered came quickly and hot. Maybe would've liked table service when first there for drinks while deciding on what to have for food.

We have eaten there many times but on this occasion we were very disappointed. I ordered the sandwich with chicken, bacon and salad with bbq sauce and chips. It was totally inedible stale bread, dry hardly any sauce cold chicken fatty bacon very little salad. The chips had a strange taste as if the oil needed changing. Partner had a burger and chips, the burger itself was okay but again the bread and chips were not good certainly not worth the money, I was asked if meals were okay before I had taken a bite as I was helping my granddaughter with her meal so when I complained I was told off for not telling the waitress when she first approached. She was very rude, very loud and thoroughly embarrassed us. Hopefully it was just a bad day but it has put us off going back.

Visited as a treat for a friend’s birthday and to chat about a planned holiday. The food was great and the service excellent

Really went above and beyond. Had a party of 30 people. From first arriving to leaving. The staff really went above and beyond. They were attentive and every meal was delivered hot. Even bringing out the birthday cakes was something that was carefully considered. Every time we have been there we have always had great service. Will definitely be back soon.

Another fantastic meal from the red kite! Once again, brilliant service, always with smiles. Nothing is a problem for the staff and the manager. Always met at the door and shown swiftly to seats, with booking or without. Fantastic food, always cooked to perfection. I haven't had a bad meal from there, and I'm sure if I wasn't happy, the staff ad the manager wouldn't have a problem in rectifying the issue. Thanks for the good times and great food.

Lovely pub. Good food. Good service. Ordering was easy. Food came on time and whole group commented on how nice their meal was. Staff friendly - bar and serving staff.

Friendly greeting when we arrived. Used the table order system, drinks arrived quickly. Unfortunately, only 2 dishes of the food ordered came out, we waited expecting the rest of our food. I had to chase this up almost an hour after ordering. A further 10 minutes later we got the rest of our food, half of our party had eaten whilst the other half sat there. The staff did apologise eventually but it really put a downer on what was otherwise beautiful food!

Best place for yummy, good, popular pub food with very reasonable prices. Excellent parking, lovely staff. Couldnt fault our visit.

The venue was obviously understaffed with the staff that were there trying to do several jobs at once. QR code on our table wouldn’t work despite numerous attempts. The food was slow arriving and when it did arrive the plates were very hot, but the food was only warm. We were regular visitors, but we have noticed the standards dropping over the last few months. All credit to the staff who were working very hard to keep the situation managed, but we will not be visiting again, which is a pity because the venue is close to our home and we were once regular customers.

Booked and ordered ok, but then told of an hours delay due to only having two staff on in the kitchen. 1830 booking ordered 1900 then mains took until after 2015. Starters didn't have the usual garnishes, so standards have dropped. A bit disappointing for a family meal out.

Returning customer unfortunately disappointed. Usually a 5/5 but recently seems there’s not enough staff working, waited 1hour 20 minutes for our food to come when usually the longest we’ve had to wait 35 minutes on a busy day. Staff were friendly as always however the lack of them let them down

Value for money Marstons pub restaurant, conveniently located by the Travel lodge and Lidl supermarket.

Easy to book on line, friendly staff, comfortable seating. Food was really good and it is every time I go there. It is consistently well cooked food from steak to scampi every meal I have had at The Red Kite has been excellent. I really like to salad that is an alternative to chips when I ordered steak. Parking is good and everything is clean and tidy with nice decoration inside

The staff were quick to take my order and ensured that my food and drinks arrived without any unnecessary delays. They were attentive without being intrusive, checking in to see if I needed anything else.

Exallent, booked for 26 family members for my sons 21st, tables were arranged as requested on booking ao we could all sit together, service and food orders was also faultless. Refurb looks great too 😊

Great food, especially good for those with allergies with food cooked separately and safely, lots of room and friendly staff. There is also fast charging for EVs outside.

I have to place on record I have known Adam for a few years indeed when he was landlord of the Green Lady Caerphilly, he personal got involved with my retirement party which down to Adam and his staff was a huge success. It is a measure of the man that one of his customers from the Green Lady passed away and even after 15 months away he took time out to pay his respects. To Adam customers are also friends and whenever we meet, he is genuinely friendly taking time out to ask me how my retirement is. He has moved on to bigger challenges with the Red Kite and has already left an indelible mark. My son and I paid a visit on a February afternoon. It was a cold but sunny day and when we entered the natural sunlight was evident by windows all around and it helped to make it warm and cosy, no mean feat as the pub encompasses a large area. We decided on an afternoon deal 12-3pm most mains for under £10 and a choice of dessert or starter for an extra £2.50. Adam is a hands-on manager happily serving the meals, working the bar and chatting to his customers. Amelia took our order smiling and chatty very happy to help. That is one of Adams strength’s he always surrounds himself with handpick, quality staff. There is a good choice on the menu my son had garlic mushrooms in batter which was so tasty and Hunters chicken. I decided on fish and chips with sponge and custard to finish. The fish was a fair size for the price and overall excellent value. A big shout out to David the chef as all meals were piping hot and a delight to eat. So, if you are looking for an inexpensive meal out in the middle of the day with cordial staff just give the Red kite a chance you won’t go far wrong. As my review states "it ticks all the boxes." Well, done to Adam and his staff looking forward to my next visit which will be for the Sunday lunch, which are also getting rave reviews.

Me and my partner visited for an evening meal I will be honest the absolute worst meal I have ever payed for being restaurant, pub or takeaway. My partner had steak that was burnt on the outside and undercooked on the inside, chips on both meal come just about warm, I myself had the hotdog which came with a bun that was impossible to eat definitely a frozen bun that seemed like it was microwaved, caught a glimpse of staff arguing amongst each other quite regular the experience as a whole was that bad I will NEVER visit again and will always advise to anyone that they never either, I didn’t even make a complaint at the time because I’m not interested in having a new meal the both come shocking and would not have entertained it, cut our losses and left definitely for the last time with this place!!

Excellent service, tasty meals and quality food. Reasonable prices and plenty of options on the menu with lots of seating avaliable. Will definitely visit again in the near future and great atmosphere.

Look the staff here are really professional and the food is good, we had 2 steaks and a drink for £13.75 each, steak was cooked properly and staff asked us if everything was ok! What more do you want??

Never had a bad meal here. Table of 8 we thought was booked (same day) but was only an enquiry however staff very helpful and seated us straight away. Food good and served quickly, Recommend.

Good was fresh, tasty and decent for value for money. Pub was clean and generally friendly. Lost a star because I had a 25% off taste card (which wasn't working on their till) so used the 25% off meerkat discount instead which also didn't work on their till despite being locations who accept. The supervisor blamed both individual apps and said nothing they could do and not their problem, I'd guess the problem was the venue and not two independent individual apps. Shame Edit to response: I hadn't visited the red kite before this first visit nor used either of the codes at your venue within the previous 24 hours (which can be renewed on either of the two apps every 24 hours) - I can guarantee I hadn't eaten twice here in 24 hours before trying a third time 🤣 but thanks for proving my point 👍

It’s been a while. The politeness and helpfulness of the young staff was exemplary. The food was very good. They catered for 4 adults, 2 toddlers and a dog. I enjoyed the night, it was really good. What stopped me giving a 5 star rating? Charging £7.05 for a pint of Neckoil!!! It’s a nice pint but not worth seven quid! I won’t be drinking that grossly overpriced beer again.

The food is excellent. Bar staff and the kitchen staff are very polite and friendly. we vist The Red Kite almost every Saturday evening and have never had a bad experience. The only thing I would suggested is bring back the tables services.

Came for a friend's birthday, just the two of us. Very friendly and helpful staff, made us feel valued and very welcome. The food was hot and served quickly and the sherry trifle dessert is a must. We'll certainly be coming more often in the future. We stayed for over two hour's.

Stopped in for Sunday lunch. We hadn't booked but were accommodated without a delay. Sadly they don't do sugar drinks it's all zero drinks which we can't drink on medical grounds. Ended up with a glass of water as I was dedicated driver.

It is always beautiful and great value for money. It is not our local, but we prefer to travel to the Red Kite for the exceptional all-round experience. Thanks!

We were greeted at the door, shown to our table and explained how service was being taken. Kind and courteous and clean. Staff were helpful as one of our group is GF and confidence was there in knowing she mattered and they took the allergy seriously. The whole team were fantastic and can't wait to go back again.

10 of us went in xmas eve after finiishing work at just gone 3pm for a xmas drink. There were empty tables but we were told we couldn't have seats as these were needed incase people wanted food, we stood very awkwardly which was not relaxing or enjoyable went for a second drink only to be told 'don't look at me I'm on my break' no christmas spirit, no customer service and as we left there were over 30 empty seats where we could have been seated awful won't be going there again

Gorgeous food, generous portions and all came out lovely and fresh and hot. Was surprised there wasn't many decorations considering we are quite close to Christmas

We arrived at 7.30pm and were told on arrival that the kitchen closed at 8pm.. already seeming keen to persuade us not to eat there. We ordered swiftly and I feel They should have told us to order dessert before 8.30 if that was their rule.. we proceeded to try and order dessert at 8.32pm and were told no very hard faced and eager to get rid. Food was good, service not so friendly.

A lovely warm welcome . Good menu ideally priced and was certainly good value . Would certainly return.
