Great food good service surprised me with the quality of the steaks we had my wife said the best stake she has had in a long time

Very good restaurant with great food. This was a Friday afternoon visit. We chose the half lobster £35 ,the presentation was very good, cooked just right and tasted delicious. We chose a bottle of chardonnay £35 which complimented the meal well. For desert chocolate pannacotta £10 was very good. The service was good and friendly.

myself and my partner visited the Brunel Arms yesterday for the first time since moving to Pontyclun last November and we were back again today (I can see this becoming a habit!) the location is great, especially being next to the train station and the service is fantastic with all members of staff being friendly and attentive 🥹 the kitchen is back open and the food is banging! they have a good selection of drinks both on tap and in bottles and the music selection is spot on! they host an open mic/jam night every Thursday, a quiz night every Wednesday and a comedy night on the last Friday of each month so whoever you are, whatever floats your boat - there is something here to suit everyone! 🤠

Just wandered up to the pub. Half a dozen in the dining room. Woman behind bar, obviously the "boss" chatting to a lady about something across the bar. Got a sideways glance, so I went to a young barmaid who was on her phone. Asked for a pint, but she said she was too young to serve me. She went up to the "boss" who initially ignored her and carried on chatting. Eventually, she acknowledged the presence of the barmaid who told her what I'd ordered. I took a look at the menu, and still, the woman kept on chatting, making no attempt to pour the beer. It was just chatter, nothing more. After a couple more minutes, I said to the barmaid, "Thank you, but don't bother," and I left. Previously, the service had been excellent, but something's obviously changed. Off to find somewhere else to eat. 😪

A good ordering experience on the phone from a lovel lady. It was delivered promptly, and the portions were generous.

Great craft beer and distinctive vibe.

Great place for a sunny afternoon, beautiful seating down by the ford. We suffered two punctures so stopped off to find an inner tube at the bike shop. We were disappointed to find the bike shop was closed so we instead bought some of the fantastic ciders and set about with a puncture repair kit instead. The cider made it worth the stop!

Siguiendo los años pasados con la Navidad y la calidad de la carne, volví a Market Deli y compré toda mi carne navideña de nuevo para 2024. No puedo volver a hacer hincapié en lo bueno que es el pavo enrollado y deshuesado. además de esto compré los cerdos en mantas y relleno producido localmente. La calidad de los productos fue excepcional. El personal es atento y amable y ofrece excelentes consejos. Recomiendo totalmente el Market Deli y los volveré a usar para productos a lo largo de 2025

Pre booked for a party of 11 people from 1pm to 2.30pm. Sent in pre order for food the day before so expecting to be served soon after arrival. By 1.40pm food still hadn’t arrived I asked a bar staff member how long we had to wait and she question if we had ordered, then followed by saying there was nothing on their system. When the 2nd bar staff member came over she also said nothing was in their system so I showed the email I had sent with the pre order on, to which I had also received a response confirming the order had been received. I questioned why nobody had come over to us to ask about our order to which the response was “staff do not come over you need to order at the bar.” Well how are we supposed to know that when we had pre ordered. Our order was taken and food was served quite promptly to be fair and all members of the party enjoyed. We were also given a free soft drink each however there should have been better communication as we had booked the table a month prior to the date.

The restaurant is well spaced and nicely lit and the food was great - well cooked and nicely presented. The staff were friendly and attentive. Overall a lovely experience!

Sausages were tepid. Very pricey and one of our party was over charged by 20.00 (since sorted) just felt in feed and out. Though fairly busy. Would I go again. No!
