Main detractor - claiming a bit of Mayo was a blue cheese sauce. See the picture of the "sauce" in a tub. I've had many blue cheese sauces - this is not one. Besides that, the food was ok. Furnishings are interesting. "Atmosphere" better when the fire place was going. They have an entertaining comic in the men's bathroom but nothing in the women's- ? ? Not sure why.

Ate at the Stamford gate at around 1600 having traveled from down south to see a friend The next morning at around 0530 woke up to vomiting and the other one Having only had 2 slices of toast previous to this meal I was straight away told food poisoning as the vomiting wouldn’t stop and I could hold anything down I had sweet chilli chicken starter and fish for main. My parthner is a nurse and told me that it seemed to be food poisoning I was driving back down south or supposed to be that day however my parthner had to drive 4hrs I was sick multiple times along the way Finally going to see a doctor as that’s what the place advised and told that it was food poisoning as at this point it had been 14hrs or so and was finally starting to be able to hold fluids down but not food The staff in the restaurant seemed to brush it off when confronted and said there had been a bug going around however from full health to not holding anything down, in maybe 12hrs and a gp suggesting they believed it to be food poisoning I think there response was not service Wouldn’t recommend stay away from the fish 👍🏼 unless you want a couple of days off work

A very disappointing Friday afternoon at the Glynne. We had booked as a treat for our friends but we we're totally embarrassed by the whole experience. The pub was very quiet but we waited far to long for our orders to be taken. We then waited 40 minutes for our food. The children's goujons were totally burnt and my friends burger was cold with a piece of soggy Lettuce on top that had clearly been reheated. We sent them back but the meal replacements had still not arrived by the time we had all finished so they were cancelled. The manager explained they were a chef down. Why weren't we informed about this when placing our order? 4 people in our group had asked for ketchup. One jam jar with a tiny bit of sauce was delivered, no spoon to even get it out. We complained about the meals and as a way of an apology we were offered complementary desserts. We were told not to order the apple pie as it would take 20 minutes so the children ordered the sticky toffee pudding. These took even longer to arrive (30 minutes) and they came out in scolding hot bowls. We were totally shocked that children's desserts had been delivered in these burning hot bowls. None of our party will be returning.

2nd time we've visited and again not disappointed. Fantastic food, friendly staff and lovely welcoming environment. The pies are amazing, the chips to die for and dont get mr started on the desserts. Highly recommended and already planning our next visit. Thanks everyone for another wonderful evening. 👌😍

I had ribs that tasted amazing and a good portion. Others had cajun chicken x 2 and a curry 🍛 all gave a ten for food 😋 They said the cajun chicken is a must. Unfortunately father in law fell over taking his wife over with him. Everyone was on their feet coming from everywhere to help and check all OK 👍 I'm definitely going back soon 👌

Family visit of 11 for dinner. Wide selection of food ordered, starters and mains, same result WOW. The quality, the staff and service were fabulous, all commented the same. The pub was very busy,so I didn't get chance to personally thank the kitchen, but I will. Fabulous evening. Thanks again.

I have always had fond memories of a warm atmosphere and friendly staff in the past, but I was incredibly disappointed with how rude the staff was tonight. I walked in to find a lot of people sat at the bar- okay, this cannot be helped, but staff had no clue someone new had approached the bar (in fairness she was alone, but I was dressed pretty uniquely in comparison to what I can only assume is the regular clientele). I was served and sat down quietly. My partner joined a little later and I purchased his drink as he entered. First drinks went down a treat and my partner bought the second round. He tasted his Guinness and wasn’t happy. Being a barmaid myself, I tried his drink and agreed something wasn’t right. I went back to the bar to make the staff aware of this. It wasn’t a complaint- I know that when the end of the barrel is close, the drinks occasionally taste off. From previous experience, the drink is either replaced, or an alternative offered (as I mentioned before, I am also a barmaid). Instead, the staff insisted there was nothing wrong despite not tasting it themselves and, quite rudely in front of a rather full pub, pointed out that many people were drinking Guinness. I would have accepted if she’d checked that the barrel was 1. In date and 2. Wasn’t empty/near end, but she refused to leave her post and continued to essentially belittle me. I returned to my partner feeling rather small and sheepish. He didn’t finish his drink, which he’d paid nearly £5 for (this is a village pub, not flipping London) and we left shortly after. Bitterly disappointed as I was looking forward to being reunited with a warm and welcoming pub.
