Attended as part of a party of 25 which we booked plenty in advance for a family event. We were sat on 3 tables but all fairly together with plenty of room and not overcrowded. The staff were very helpful and took our orders. The food came out promptly and together (as much as you can serving our size of party). All orders were correct and of their usual high quality, decent size portions which were hot and tasty. The service was excellent and can’t thank the team at the Ffrwd for accommodating us. We all managed to park in their car park across the road from the premises.

I would personally not recommend especially for large parties and children. No room what so ever. No one explained the platters, was definitely not enough food for 10 people as we were giving the same amount as a table of 6. No menus, had to ask for some and then told it’s on a board so ended up having to take pictures to tell the table of the options. Ordered drinks that never arrived and had to wait for almost 20 minutes after asking to order dessert for them to come and take the order. Ended up leaving before even getting the dessert. Finally no parking at all.

Absolutely terrible. Went there for a Easter meal with the family, the food came on a share platter which made things extremely difficult to dish out and made it so there was not enough food to go round. We order drinks that didn't come and the tables were so crammed together it felt like I was eating a meal with the table next to us. 0/5 stars if I could.

I would not recommend this place for large parties especially those with children. We were a table of 10 and had the same amount of food on the tray as a table of 4. After being told it was large portions. Every disappointed in the staffs customer service skills. No explanation as to how they serve the roast dinners. Order drinks that never came but was charged for them. No parking what so ever.

Tried for a drink at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon and were promptly turned away. Despite at least 30 covers being unoccupied we were told that all tables were booked and the 'overflow' area was full. I find if hard to believe that all covers were arriving at precisely 3pm and no attempt was made to say that at least once table could accommodate us for 30 minutes. Staff could not be bothered to check timings and were close on rude in turning us away. Not the way to treat prospective customer so would suggest staff training required as busy as you are (maybe) customer service and welcome was a lot to be desired. Very disappointed and for a country pub that requires drop in customers not the way to great promote its welcome.

Good Sunday lunch & sweets were delicious too. We were the only group there (4 of us) so service was good. Our driver ordered iced water.....we've never been charged for tap water before but we were on this occasion - thought this a bit excessive as the rest of us were paying for alcoholic drinks. The menu board is in the doorway so difficult to view with other customers coming in or leaving the pub but the waiter did bring the blackboard to us when we ordered our desserts.

Absolutely shocking. I felt like Gordon Ramsey critiquing, but by god he’s the only person who can save that place Consider you book in advance, no one bats an eyelid when you walk in. Just giant menus to look at right next to the door. The music goes from 10 back-to-back stereophonics b-sides, to alien ant farm and blink 182? Love those bands but it was bizarre. Then the food… **** me. More moisture in a twigglet. Got the deserts for free because there was bits of R2 D2 found in both. First ever trip advisor review I’ve ever done. Might seem harsh to some, I know. A restaurant that seems to of been there for ever… if it was spoons then I’d of let it slide. But to charge £18-£28 for their meals? Surely ******* not 1.5/10

Lets start with the car park, which is across the road which my elderly parents were nervous crossing, leaving was even worse as it's on a bend and not safe to pull out of. We sat for ages at our table, waiting for someone to bring the menu, finally I went to the bar to ask and was shown the menu - an oversized blackboard by the door that I had to hijack and take to the table so everyone could read as it was in the doorway. I asked about vegetarian options and was told that, if I didn't eat fish, I could have goats cheese risotto or a starter made up as a main course (sorry, but there's only so much garlic bread I can eat!). Luckily I eat fish, I say luckily because about 50% of the menu was fish! I went for the cod and chips, but the fish still had it's skin on and the batter was soggy, so it wasn't particularly appetising and I left half, the chips had no taste at all. The gammon for my parents came with no veg or salad. My sister's chicken kiev was dry. Over priced mediocre food. It's not exactly cheap and so you expect a little more. You'll be disappointed. At the prices they're charging, get some menus printed, employ staff who don't think that Hake and Cod are the same thing (news to me!), find a new chef and get a mirror put up so people have a chance of getting out of the car park alive, oh, and put some effort into the toilets, even a sign telling you where they are would be a start, but they're tired and dirty looking. I won't be returning and have cancelled a booking I'd made for my works party.

There was 10 of us squashed onto a table that was not big enough for the party and our elbows where touching each other, it may be home cooked food but not value for money ,won't be going back .

Amazing place with beautiful food. I felt compelled to write a review on this village pub/ restaurant after reading some of the other negative comments on here. I have been here many times with my friends/ family and children and is always one of our first choices when choosing to dine out. This is a traditional family run business which offers a large selection of traditional home cooked food. Every meal served here is delicious and a VERY generous portion and will leave you feeling well stuffed! The negative comments on here do make an interesting read however but I would really not pay any attention, they often come from people who either want something for nothing or have their head shoved so far up their own arse they don’t know what decent food is. if this is you, go to McDonald’s or a Brewers fair where meals are pre-packed crap. Book this place, you will not be disappointed- your welcome :)

Walked in and the girl behind the bar (wearing a coat still) didn’t even aknowledge us…. Took our drink order at the bar when she got to us and pointed our table out. I ordered a soft drink, they’re all just cans. My partner ordered a pint, it smelt of wet dog. The menus are big chalk boards by the door, so you have to stand and squash between a door and the bar to read the menu. The menus are big and look absolutely great. Unfortunately it was better on paper than on the plate. Ordered starters, took 30 minutes to come out. I had garlic prawns, they were on garlic bread which was soggy in oil and grease. Not what I expected and it was horrible. My partner had chicken kebabs. It was literally a slither of chicken on a stick. It was so dry one half fell off when he touched it with a fork. Next we both ordered the steak, £30 each. Sirloin steak, all the trimmings, and a sauce. My steak was AWFUL covered in lumps of fat and tasted of leather. My partners wasn’t much better. I ordered the peppercorn sauce, it was yellow, like custard and made me feel physically sick. ‘All the trimmings’ was chopped mushrooms, onion rings (basically no onion just greasy batter) and a bowl of peas (between 2) and a bowl of chips (between 2) I couldn’t even eat mine so they did offer something else, which I declined so they took it off the bill, which I appreciated until we could hear them slagging us off in the kitchen pointing out that the other steak was fine…. Toilets - dead flies on walls, and I thought the toilet was grey but it was dust. Restaurant - cold, holes in wall, heater next to us splattered in grease and food. Staff - ok but need a waitress to take orders and treat it like a restaurant when paying £30 for meals! It’s not cheap, seems like they don’t actually have a clear vision for the place. Menus - look amazing!!! Just need someone that can cook it.

The Ffrwd holds a dear spot in my heart, as it consistently delivers an exceptional experience of warmth, excellent food, and delightful surprises. As a frequenter of this cozy establishment, I can attest to the remarkable quality and flavors that their pub grub offers, providing a sense of comfort and satisfaction with every visit. While The Ffrwd's menu may consist of traditional pub fare, the dishes are elevated with exceptional attention to detail and flavor combinations. Each meal is lovingly prepared, creating a memorable dining experience that keeps patrons coming back for more. It's no wonder that I find myself returning time and time again to savor the delicious cuisine in this welcoming environment. One charming aspect of The Ffrwd that sets it apart is the occasional visit from local cats in the evenings. For cat lovers, this delightful occurrence adds an extra layer of warmth and charm to the experience. The Ffrwd's embrace of the local feline community speaks to the establishment's welcoming and friendly atmosphere

Nice warm fire going in the bar we ordered the fish pie and steak and ale pie.. it arrived after a long wait but omg was it worth it. Huge portions the fish pie was full of salmon, cod ( I think) and 3 king prawns topped with cheesy mash, chips and peas on the side, steak pie was full of steak and yummy gravy and huge pastry on top. The Menu is clearly displayed on the "Boards" along with terms and conditions. It is not a Toby Csrvery, nor a Brwers Fayre, but a family run establishment that has welcoming and friendly staff serving an extensive range of lagers bitter and dark beer, with a vast array of gins, whisky and brandy. The least welcoming place we have ever visited as a family. Poor ordering system, menu on a board by the door then the ludicrous policy of not letting a 1 yr old have a spare plate without them being physically in a high chair (telling them the child would be sat in it when the food had cooled down on a plate wasn't good enough). Arrogant and incompetent manager followed up by an owner who couldn't care less an excused their behaviour by blaming issues with previous adult customers trying to get freebies as if it was applicable. Left without dessert despite it being in the meal order because of how bad the experience was. I'm not one to run a place down but this was shocking and if you are a parent especially stay well clear

I’m afraid my review is not good. I made a booking for a table of 7 earlier in the afternoon. Upon arrival I noticed a board outside the entrance stating that on some days of the week it was two main courses for the price of one. That sounded like a good deal. Sat at our table and quite promptly a young waitress appeared and asked what we would like to drink. So far so good. We received the drinks and waited for the menus to brought to the table. We must have waited ten minutes. I then asked the waitress and was informed that the menu was in the other room on a board against the wall. This should have been pointed out when the drinks were brought ti the table. Two of our party have mobility problems so another person with us took a photograph of the main course board. This board must have been about five feet tall. The top half explaining the ‘rules’ of qualification for the two for one deal. You had to buy a drink, alcoholic or soft drink, and if there was an odd number in your party, one would have to pay the full price. There were about five to six boards around the bar area showing starters, mains, desserts, champagne offers, etc. This was too much to view on a smart phone, so each of our party had to physically look for themselves. I was shocked at the prices. Fish & chips & mushy peas £18 - Steak £30 - Burger £18. However, when you divide by two because of the offer, then the price was pretty good. Unfortunately, I don’t think the offer of two for one applied to everyday of the week. At those advertised prices, I expected the food to be top notch. It wasn’t. I had belly pork with medallions of pork and pulled pork, with chips and salad! Never had it with salad before and rarely with chips. Mashed potato perhaps would be a better option. Three of our meals were overcooked, including mine. We had two vegetarians in our group and the choice was very limited to a couple of fish dishes. If they had been vegan, there would not have been anything suitable. We were told that if we had told them sooner, they could have got something in for us! One of our party had a one year old child and when we asked a waitress if they had baby changing facilities, she replied that she didn’t know. Didn’t offer to go and find out. The young lady behind the bar was very good but unfortunately the two very young waitresses were inexperienced and uninformed. Perhaps we caught them on a bad night but none of us will be returning there.

Well worth it. Excellent menu variety, clean tables, super friendly staff and swift service. Large portion and reasonable prices. Tables seated with plenty of room and not cramped. Car park is opposite it which is easy to miss. Highly recommend.

Went here planning to have the set meal but chose to eat off the menu instead. It's nice and spacious inside. Food was served in good time and it was tasty. Portion sizes were just right and the service was everything we expected.

This has been the best home cooked food we’ve eaten out in a long time. I had the fish pie and my partner had the battered cod. Service was great, food even better. The Inn was cosy & friendly with a roaring fire. It’s worth a little drive out if you’re up north wales. Highly recommended. Thank you!
