Had such a lovely dinner tonight. Went for a vegetarian option despite not being vegetarian, just because it sounded interesting. I was not disappointed, it was absolutely delicious. My husband really enjoyed his steak too. The desserts were also so good. Couldn’t fault the service and the pub was busy with a lively but relaxed atmosphere. So lucky to have this on our doorstep.

Fantastic!!! After a long walk we had booked a table but we were early and had decided to bring one of our dogs along. No problem quick drink at the bar and we where shown to our table in a very dog friendly part of the pub. This is not a traditional looking pub it's very quirky and has a unique charm about it. We had starters pate and smoked haddock arancini with peas and poached egg. The pate along with bread and chutney was great and my arancini was out of this world one of the nicest starters I've had for a long time. We then had burger and roast beef sirloin both dishes where amazing. All served by very nice friendly happy attentive staff which let's alot of places down but not here. They have a very good and indie selection of beers which is nice to see instead of your usual you know estrella peroni moretti. We have several favourite pubs we visit in cheshire North Wales and wirral this one has most definitely joined that list at the top. Bravo and we'll see you again very soon.

My friend and I booked a meal last night and arrived promtly for our booking at 7pm. Unfortunately, we were not served our main meal until after 9pm. The staff stated that a Valentine booking had arrived late, which was not our problem. We tried to cancel our mains order after waiting for 1hr 50 mins, however the person we spoke to said it was just being plated up - we waited another 10 mins for the meals to arrive. When asked if we would come back again our answer was a firm NO. We are both in the catering business and were disappointed with the whole night because of the speed of food service. No reduction in our bill for the inconvenience.

The food here was really good. Let down by the service. We had to ask for our drinks after the starter arrived, we had to ask for Toast with the pate - the server didn't know if it came with it or not. Roast beef dinner was the best we have had for miles around though. We asked for dessert menus which we then had to ask for again after 15 minutes. We eventually ordered ten minutes or so later, and then decided to get the bill after 20 minutes when the desserts never arrived, we did get soup spoons though as apparently that's all they had. I imagine there were dessert spoons somewhere but it was probably easier to just give soup spoons as it saved them having to leave their chit chat to go and find them. There were a couple of efficient staff behind the bar but the floor staff, of which there were plenty just stood chatting and drinking by the coffee machine ignoring everything that was going on. Such a shame, especially as the food is really good. If you can't offer efficient table service then just adjust your offer so customers can order at the bar. Customers don't mind paying a fair price for good food if the service is good too. Its not hard. It seemed the place wasn't managed tonight maybe it was just a bad day but puts you off a revisit when this is already the second time we have had this experience.

Six of us went for a meal just before Christmas. A very disappointing experience with both service & food. Discussed with member of staff at the time but no real apology or resolution. Emailed the manager (had to follow up 2 weeks later for a response). Glad to hear they’d address staff training issues but disappointed with their response to food issues. Six dishes over 3 courses were not good (under/over cooked, cold etc) and the response was that we should have sent them back to the kitchen. I think an issue with one dish is acceptable but 6 dishes?!! Emailed again questioning their response to the food issues…2 weeks later & still awaiting a response (again I have followed up to prompt a reply…but nothing). Would definitely not recommend for food - maybe nice place for a drink. Going out for a meal at the moment is a real treat with cost of living etc so feel really cheated by our experience at the Glynne Arms

Beautifully decorated and welcoming pub/restaurant. I would say, Edwardian decor. We received a warm welcome, drinks, then through to the restaurant. There the Sunday lunch was served, roast beef, fresh vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. Absolutely wonderful. As was the dessert, heavenly, light sticky toffee pudding. This is a great place for dog lovers. Nearly every table had a happy dog either under it, the small dogs, or next to it, the bigger dogs. Our dog happily stayed under the table. The friendly, helpful staff weaved around the room offering great service. We will definitely be going back.

Mine was burnt, chips soggy and hers was tasteless. If you offer salt and pepper chips on the menu do it right! I was stupid enough to eat it and cause myself mild hypernatremia. Both felt unwell in the morning. Could have got better in plenty of other places instead of paying the extra for what we believed was a quality pub. I came here on a Monday afternoon and ordered a cappuccino and a scotch egg. Unfortunately, they had no brown sauce and half the items on the menu were missing. The waiting time was approx 40 minutes. The scotch egg, as it was ham hock, had a sinewy texture which really wasn’t nice. The cappuccino was hastily made and didn’t taste good. The young staff have clearly been thrown in the deep end without proper training. Coming from someone who’s worked in hospitality, this is really not fair on them. They are usually trying their best and want to provide good customer service. If management are going to leave teenage staff responsible for an entire restaurant/pub, they need to treat them with respect and train them.

Disappointing. The food was ok but the staff didn't listen. Firstly one of our party asked for pink prosecco they brought white. I had garlic prawns for starters it was literally 3 prawns with full head and tail with a piece of bread i tasted no garlic whatsoever. One of the main meals we asked without gravy and it came with gravy which they apologised for and then we had to wait whilst they did another plate. Another meal we asked for no apple sauce with the pork dinner, it came with apple sauce! I ordered the spinach & ricotta ravioli which was literally just that nothing else! Presentation not very good at all for the price! May I suggest maybe a little side salad with it and maybe a few pine nuts. Definitely not worth the money and neither were the prawns. On a positive note it's a nice place with a lovely decor and very clean. The mains ( apart from mine) were enjoyed apart from the two mistakes. Which were two beef roast dinners a lamb and a pork. Quite well presented too. Desserts were average. So to sum up nice but need to pay more attention to detail and maybe present things better for the prices you are charging.

A very beautiful and atmospheric gastronomy pub. Lots of little interesting things to notice in the decor. Unfortunately the small menu was partially available and over an hour after ordering we asked about our food as other people had 2 courses already. They we sold out of duck and steak. We ordered pizza, again not a great selection. What food did arrived was excellently done and the staff polite. Three stars for leaving me hangry. Hand lotion was lush.
