We were staying close by for a walking holiday. The pub was cosy and very friendly. The pizza nights were excellent too on a Wednesday and Friday. We were made so welcome by the great landlord and hope to come back again

We attended for Valentines weekend as two couples. In order to stop the husband of the other couple recognise this we went into quite goofy disguises that the bar staff and other people within the bar realised found that they were quite amusing once they realise the purpose for us wanting to do that. Everything went to plan and even the bar staff were in fits of laughter at one point - it was just a magical enjoyable moment. Regarding the actual hotel rooms. They are charming and some very large. The staff cannot do enough. We had a small problem as I am over 6’3” and difficult to move in top floor. The next morning we were moved to an upgraded room, large and comfortable; at no extra charge. The meals were good. Nice choice of breakfast! We will return.

A delightful spot next to the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal with outside seating and a childrens play area. They make it very clear that the car park is free to customers and inside ta large notice reminds you to register your car. The Sunday roast selection was ideal and a vegan option was provided. Service was quick and friendly with food in good portions and well cooked at a fair price. Plenty of seating and comfy chairs. Good welsh beers on tap.

I enjoyed a lovely vegan burger ( beyond burger style ) which was in a lovely bread roll dusted with semolina. My family were very pleased with their whitebait, fish and veggie lasagne. We sat by a nice fire and found the place comfortable and service good.

Our 3 rd visit and last , dinner first visit , shocking, sandwich 2nd , you can actually ruin a sandwich , today , breakfast , scrambled eggs n mushrooms on brown toast , simple enough , 1 slice of cold toast and solid butter portion , the driest scrambled egg possible and a ramekin of greasy mushrooms , literally unbelievabley bad , so three strikes , never again , 1 point for the girl on the till , she was lovely

Took our daughter out for an evening meal when she was home from uni. The restaurant was busy and the staff were struggling to cope. The food was average but a good portion size and came in a timely fashion. A little pricey overall. There was no website for this pub so I couldn't have a look at the menu before arriving . The car park was full of large pot in holes.
