We were staying close by for a walking holiday. The pub was cosy and very friendly. The pizza nights were excellent too on a Wednesday and Friday. We were made so welcome by the great landlord and hope to come back again

We stopped here for a few drinks and sat in the pub which was lovely. Plenty of seats and warm cosy rooms. Also had a lovely fuss of Bailey the local dog :) The landlord was very friendly and very kind to give me a birthday drink :) also he gave us some beer and cider recommendations. Reasonable prices and a spotlessly clean pub and toilets. Especially the day after New Year’s Day!! Lots of bar snacks and the landlord told us they have a pizza oven which sounds lovely so shall we come back to have one. Very good atmosphere!!!! We are staying at a local lodge and have came in here a few times. Recommend if you're in the area.

Well....what a disappointment. Went up to michels stone circle on a amazing sunny day. A friend had recommended the miners arms as the perfect stop off for lunch after the walk up. After entering the pub and asking if it was dog friendly a local asked the landlord are dogs allowed ? which in return he said if they bloody behave. After finally ordering drinks jue to locals hogging the bar(vulgar language being used in conversation) we went out side to enjoy the sunshine and views ( which are amazing) there was a table of 6 enjoying sausages and chips , my partner suggested to go and get a menu. Re- entering the pub some more locals had gathered at the bar ordering drinks and asking about food. The landlord said I will go and make you some sandwiches no charge. I then asked no food then? To the answer of no! Just chrisps and nuts. But locals can have sandwiches or sausages and chips???. Very unwelcome and bad service to none locals. DON'T Bother keep going to bishops Castle where's there's lots of lovely places to eat( and friendly people)

Lovely friendly local pub with friendly locals willing to talk to us tourists! Had pizzas on the Wednesday (pizzas Wednesday and Friday) and they were exceptional. Homemade coleslaw also thoroughly recommended. If you want to visit a “wet” pub in a local village/hamlet then this IS the pub to visit.

Looked forwards to lunch in what used to be a lovely pub with a pretty garden twenty odd years ago. Found the garden excavated so it resembles a mini quarry and they don’t do food. Other than pizza on a Wednesday there’s nothing to be had. It would have been helpful to have mentioned this in their entry in Restaurant Guru.

Popular little pub with a friendly vibe. They make fantastic pizzas and a great place to stop for a pint...or 2. Rosie and Lauren provided us all with brilliant service and always very friendly. A*** would highly recommend for great food and a great night. They allow dogs as well which is always a plus

We were visiting the log cabins here which are about a mile up the road. This local pub gave us a cracking welcome and beers were very cheap!! The rugby was on (Wales!) Which made this place packed but great!

We came here a few years ago and had a great night when we were staying locally. One December Saturday afternoon we had been to Montgomery and it’s Castle and fancied a pint and so found the Miner’s Arms and had a pint of Rev. James and a Tanners Shiraz. Excellent and hardly anyone there!

We only stopped for a quick nonalcoholic drink and a bowl of chips, but the staff were polite and efficient, the chips were very good indeed! The place was clean and tidy, including the toilets. There is an outside area, but parking spaces are limited right outside, and limited to 1 hour only, but there is a large car park in easy walking distance.

Fairly basic room but just what we needed, would have liked a fridge though. Breakfast was lovely, really accommodating of vegans and service was ace

3rd visit, we love it here, staff/venue/food all excellent. Village is lovely to wander round, lots of lovely walks and when you need to stop for a refreshment the pubs are full of friendly locals. Lots of places to visit, very central for so many places
