Riverside Cafe in Powys

So last night I decided to park in the Lay by in Llanidloes were the riverside cafe is so I can get up in the morning chill out enjoy a cooked breakfast get my trailer from RPF head back to the yard then go home after being away from home for two weeks anyway I got there at 2330 there was 4 lorrys in there so I parked up tidy with plenty of room I got up at 0800 went to order my breakfast and a cup of tea and was met with a barrage of abuse from the woman in the Cafe in front of every one saying I had been parked there since 1700 yesterday and the lay by was privately owned and to get from there 

Stopped here twice on recent trips to mid Wales, early morning both times so food prepared just for our group, service with a smile and nice views of river if you need to take your mind away from the road

this is a real gem of a find,and if you did not know where it was ,then you would probably drive past ,--especially at this time of year when the trees are in full bloom. The café is on the main road ,just out from llanidloes,and there is a huge parking area out the front which is used by the HGV drivers,but there is still room for lots of cars. The building is only a portacabin and probably seats around 20,and the kitchen is an open area where you can watch the food being prepared --it has the max. 5 rating from the local council for hygiene. The menu is chalked up on a board above the kitchen,but is not set in stone ,so if you do not fancy Black Pudding or saute fries at 8 in the morning then you can mix and match--eg 2 slices of bacon ,2 sausage,black pudding ,saute potatoes,egg,fried bread ,toast and tea /coffee for £6. Have eaten here quite a few times now and am yet to finish it all---really worth a visit.
