Great little pub, only a few miles out of Aberystwyth on the Devil’s Bridge Rd- well worth a visit from the town or even a detour if you’re in the area. Lovely sympathetic upgrade of an historic pub, with a beautiful beer garden outside and multiple different areas, including bar and restaurant. Fabulous food and wine, a range of beers on tap and a great atmosphere . Friendly, efficient service is the icing on top. Great spot to spend a night out, lunch or anytime- highly recommended

We booked last minute having heard by word-of-mouth how amazing this place was, and we were not disappointed! Staff were lovely, even though we arrived a little late, and they were friendly and warm throughout our meal. We both ordered roasts and they were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Amazing slices of meat, thick gravy, crunchy veg - everything you could ask for on a sunny Sunday afternoon. They even brought our dog a little tub of roast turkey so that he didn't feel he was missing out. Although there was really no need after we'd polished off every morsel on our plates, we both tucked into one of the wonderful desserts on offer, both of which were utterly scrummy. Our only regret is that we live three hours away so we can't make this a regular weekend treat.

Although living some distance from this restaurant, we always make a point of dining here at least once during our stay, despite a 40 minute drive to get there. The atmosphere, food and service is definitely to our taste. We’ve never had a poor meal here, quite the contrary, and the gastro-pub is a jewel in the gorgeous rural setting it resides. Local ingredients are always sourced. This place delivers, and delivers well…..Sunday lunch is a particular splendid.

What a fabulous find. We were on an open day visit to Aberystwyth and came across their website which looked great so we booked. Well worth booking. You pop out into a fabulous little village and this gem. Friendly welcome, lovely surroundings and decor. Good wine list and the food was fantastic. Well presented, good portion size and tastes to die for. I had the pie if the day which was a proper pie, not puff pastry lid. Full of meat and fabulous gravy. My daughter had the Welsh lamb cooked beautifully, the honey comb ice cream and my rhubarb and custard desert were just as wonderful. It is now firmly in my Google saved places list. Lovely visit and did I mention the fab staff? Recommend very highly.

Arrived an hour early for a drink which we stated to the staff behind bar when we arrived. We were able to sit at the table we had booked as the staff said this was ready. Within this hour we were asked three times by the waitress what we would like to order. I reminded her that we weren't ready as we wanted a drink before our meal that's the reason we came early. The waitress that served us was very rude and made comments and facial expressions to other staff about us very obvious. We did not feel comfortable eating at this plac. Will not be returning or recommending.

Friendly, welcoming feel to the pub with prompt and cheerful service. Unfortunately the food didn’t quite match up. The ribs starter was really good but the polenta prawns were very, very dry, similarly the fish and chips and steak pie were gorgeous but the burger and the bun were both very dry and lacking the normal succulence expected, steak was good but not really £24 good. Pudddings were delicious. So there you are, a tale of two halves. I think when spending £160 for 4 in a pub, everyone really needs to have enjoyed themselves to feel it was good value.

We stopped for lunch on a Saturday having pre-booked and found the pub not very busy. We elected to sit outside when offered a choice and were soon seated. Caitlin, who runs the place (very efficiently, it turned out) recommenced a very nice bitter ale and chatted about the food on offer, before leaving us for a few minutes to make our choices. All the food was extremely tasty and we didn’t have to wait long to be served. The prices were very fair, too. This is a gem of a place to which we will definitely return when in the area. Unfortunately it is just a bit too far from home to become a regular venue.

Had an evening meal here on three successive nights whilst we were staying locally and overall the food was good. Staff were ok, some appeared to be there just to do their job, but then there was Sharon, who just oozed enthusiasm and was really great to talk to, nice to have met you. Felt the atmosphere outside in the great seating booths all with individual heaters was far better than the inside option which we felt lacked the personal touch. The main reason for not being totally sold on this place is the slight issue we had on one of the evenings when I was asked if my meal was ok and I said it was not as it was obvious I had left most of it. Another server came to ask what the problem was, I am guessing she was the owner/manager, she didn't introduce herself, so I explained the reason and she went away, only to reappear after she had talked to the chef and after more questions she managed to make me feel that I was wrong to suggest the dish was not good and I was put on the spot having to justify my reasons, not good PR in my opinion. She did ask if I wanted some reduction on the bill, which I declined, this offer should have been automatically done when settling the bill without asking us

An absolute gem of a place, both inside and out. A lot of love and care has been put into the interior and exterior decor - we ate outside which was really pretty with lots of fairy lights and cleverly designed individual pods. The food was delicious and the wine and gin menus were ace! The children’s pizzas were amazing and devoured in minutes, and the service was fast and friendly. The cherry on the top of the cake was that when, on the last day of our holiday, we realised we had left my child’s favourite jumper at the restaurant - the restaurant happily posted it back to us. Definitely going above and beyond for customer service! 100% recommended!

Can’t fault this place. Lovely country pub in a delightful village which seems able to accommodate those who want a drink in the bar or those who come to sample the delicious food. Four of us chose different options and we all rated the quality very highly. As one of our party eats at Michelin starred restaurants, this is high praise. The staff were cheerful and friendly, and we felt that a great deal of thought had gone into making guests feel COVID safe. We ate outside in the recently created outdoor space which shelters from inclement weather but gives plenty of ventilation. Do try to leave room for the desserts..the lemon tart ( vegan) was light and lemony, the blood orange cheesecake with caramel sauce totally delicious. Congratulations to Caitlyn and team. Just wish we lived a little closer

We booked an Airbnb next door for our holiday, not knowing what the village would be like (erm…interesting roads to get here in every direction!) and what amenities there would be. On our first night we went to Y Ffarmers and we’re *more than* pleasantly surprised by the food and service. It was superb - easily rivalling and frankly beating expensive restaurants in various urban locations I could mention, and at a very affordable and reasonable price. All the meals were presented wonderfully, and the quality of the lamb meal, pie and curry meals in particular was just marvellous. If I had one ‘critique’, and it’s not really a criticism because it was in itself superb, it was that the kids pizza was rather too good! One of our more fussy family members didn’t appreciate the flavour of the garlic in the cheese (rolls eyes) …. so it might be better to play safe with the menu or ask for something blander if you know your kids aren’t always gastronomically appreciative! Our hosts and the staff were all perfectly attentive and helpful too. We had a great night and will revisit! Highly, highly recommended.

Y FfarmersA beautiful setting in the Welsh country side with the staff and kitchen all as pleasant as they can be. I started off with a stowford press and black and the pure explosion of taste as the first cold sip of cider hit my tounge with an erray of ecstasy and explosion as it grips you back for another sip is uncannily beautiful, sought from the Welsh country side it makes me proud to be Welsh. For starters I had the ever famous halloumi fries with sweet chilli sauce, an erray of crispyness with the tangy cheese dancing on my tounge, adding the sauce gave me a sense of delight. For my main I went for the Burger with bacon and cheese, the buns were nice and soft, the burger as succulent and juicy as ever with the bacon adding an extra layer of taste, the cheese as tangy and delightful and ever present. The chips were unbelievable and dipping them in the aioli sauce made the experience even more of a blessing. For pudding I gave my shot at the warm, soft and unavoidable chocolate brownie, we had a choice of different flavoured ice creams. The staff made sure to keep check on us and would ask if everything was ok as they wondered past. The atmosphere was calm with the happy voices of other customers chirping in the background.10/10 for experience, would recommend everyone to have a visit. Will 100% be returning, a delightful experience!Thankyou y ffarmers!

I had been wanting to try this restaurant for ages. Finially managed to secure a table this week. On arrival the staff were OK not as friendly as others had mentioned. We sat inside, we did have a few issues with lots of flies buzzing around us. Starters were OK. Calamari & pigeon were nice and well presented. The halloumi fries were not as a expected. They were quite heavy in breadcrumbs. For mains we had the steak pie which was nice. A chicken tikka curry was ordered it was very bad. The chicken was so dry that we all struggled to eat it.. Also there was no sauce with curry. Two of us had the burgers.. We could not eat the buns. They were so thick, dense and doughy they were not enjoyable. We had cheesecake for dessert which was nice. No one came over during our meal to ask how it was and when the plates were collected we said our issues. Nobody came over to apologise or ask further about our experience. Nothing was offered off the bill. Sadly we won't be returning.

Such a treat! What a fabulous first meal out after more than a year of eating at home! We were seated outside as requested, despite the short notice. Having little ones, we wanted to stay under the radar and not affect the tranquility that was obvious from their website. The manager was more than accommodating, understanding of my dietary needs and quick to notice our young children were hungry (and a little confused to be eating away from home), serving them first and chatting to us like old friends. The food itself was delicious, there was plenty of variety on offer cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. The decor matched the peaceful rural countryside; stepping inside was like the after effects of an hours yoga, or a quiet moment on the beach listening to the gentle lapping waves. Really impressed. Couldn’t have asked for more from our mini-break. We will certainly travel to come back again, perhaps next time on our wedding anniversary to take advantage of the extensive gin cocktail menu! Being in Aberystwyth, we have decided to visit this restaurant due to the high reviews. Even some of the food was good, I have decided to give one star as the Espresso Cake was old, really old and it had a lot of strange flavours as it seems that it sat a long time in a fridge with other foods, taking their odours. Then the pan fried sea bream was tasting as the fish was slightly off (probably before being frozen). Chilli and herbs calamari were chewy and most of the batter was off the calamari, but eatable. Again, it seems as they were using frozen calamari. The best part of the Welsh sirloin steak, which was perfectly cook and very tasty. It is a pity, as I can see there is knowledge, but really, serving an old cake? ... just a portion, would have almost the same cost as the whole cake for them, so better throw it away and get/make a new one.It can be great, but more attentions to these important characteristics are need it.

We are a little too far aware to benefit from the take away service they are currently operating in these crazy times.

Beautiful little gem of a place in a little village . It was quite out in the sticks but I’m so glad I found it on Trip advisor. Good distancing in place and they even offered masks upon entry (first place we seen offer this ).The staff are really friendly and we have a lovely Sunday lunch. A beautiful pub , attentive staff and lovely food. I definitely recommend

For a two word review “simply stunning” is it. So parking is a bit hit and miss with no actual car park, but once you have navigated that hurdle, it’s pure please from there on. We were shown to our reserved table by a polite (mask wearing) member of staff. The tables were all well spaced, sanitiser at the door, plastic screens to separate tables, felt very Covid safe. Track and trace QR thingy worked too. A really good selection of local produce, from the purple moose brewery beer to the local shot pigeon. Everything was lovely. Pigeon breast started and calamari were both excellent, and the game pie was fantastic. Hubbies lamb was perfectly cooked and very tasty. We even squeezed in pudding, cheesecake for hubby and chocolate torte for me.The service was perfect, friendly and polite. The food was simply stunning and the drinks excellent too. It was actually really well priced and could easily have been more expensive for what we received. Really good service, quality food, nice atmosphere. We will be back.

From the moment we arrived this was a good experience. Stylish pub with well spaced tables, sanitiser and staff wearing masks. The menu is excellent and there were probably 2 or 3 things in each section that we fancied. Calamari and pigeon breast starters, perfectly cooked and very tasty. Game pie and lamb for mains. The lamb was that good that only the cleaned bones remained. Deserts were good too, cheesecake and chocolate torte. For two people to have 3 courses of fabulous food and two drinks each for under £64 what more could you wish for?

Ate here twice during a weeks stay in area. Well worth our 20 minute drive. Beautiful rural village location. Ate inside on both occasions and felt as safe given Civid situation. Sunday lunch superb, lamb very lean and tender beef. Returned midweek and had steak ale pie and welsh steak both excellent. Sweets are very tasty.Service was excellent and everyone very pleasant. Thank you.

Congratulations to Caitlin and the team at Y Ffarmers.Lovely setting in the countryside and beautifully furnished pub with outside dining area. The food beautifully presented, local fresh produce was used. A very unique experience!! Thoroughly enjoyed our food. My partner had the Steak which was cooked and presented to perfection. I had the lamb cutlets which were again fantastic. Its only a 10 minute drive from Aberystwyth but I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND going to this pub if you want a reasonably priced top class meal!! No where better in Aberystwyth in my opinion.Congratulations again Caitlin and all the staff at Y Ffarmers!!! Keep up the good work!!! Xxxx xxxx

The pub lacked atmosphere and this was made worse by an absence of diners (no doubt due Cornavirus). Service was excellent and the food was very nice but not exceptional. Our main grouse however is that nothing on our main courses was hot, not even the gravy. Sweets are also very nice but overpriced.

We had booked here after reading the previous reviews. Unfortunately we were disappointed as the reviews had said this was a gem of a place. We had lamp chops and the steak pie, both were bland and lacking in flavours. Both were ok.For us it did not have the sparkle mentioned by previous people.

We stumbled on this hidden gem from a comment left in the visitors book in the cottage we were staying in. From the warm welcome to the fantastic food we couldn’t have wished for better service. Great set up for eating in the garden & felt safe with good social distancing. All very happy with our meals & my son was particularly impressed with the chips - best flavour ever! We also left a positive comment in the visitor book to guide the next family here.

I have a strange allergy, Onions. I called to see if they would cater , sorry for the pun, to this and YES no problem. I have a Sunday Pork roast. I was taken back to my childhood, when meat actually tasted of meat. The pork was just so tasty I didn't want it to end. The veggies where crisp and cooked perfect. Just not enough of them :) The meal made me a HAPPY BUNNY in these strange times.Delivery was great and the food was oh so fresh.I'd give it 6/5 if I could

We enjoyed a great takeaway meal tonight and had a blow out Sunday lunch last week as well. Caitlin and Lewis are providing a terrific service to the local community and if you have not tried their takeaway service you really should - you will not be disappointed. The icing on the cake is being able to bring excellent real ale home to accompany our meals!

Desserts were delicious and good sized portions and finished the meal off well. Food was packed well in containers.Would highly recommend.

Had a lovely takeaway from Y Ffarmers over the weekend. Our beef burgers were very nice, right down to the homemade bun and coleslaw (which I normally hate). Brownie and cheesecake desserts also delicious.

Decided to have a lockdown treat and ordered meals on the Saturday night. We had chicken supreme, Thai curry and goats cheese roasted vegetables lasagne. Each meal was amazing! We finished off with chocolate brownies and 3 pints of IPA. The brownies were the best ever! This was a real treat! The portion sizes were good as was the price. We will definitely be ordering again!

Popped to cardigan and started looking for some food, as we were about to give up the wife saw an A frame for this pub so I looked it up on Tripadvisor. Mostly positive reviews but one caught our eye moaning nearly every table had a dog at the table. Our sort of place. Upon entering I laughed out loud at the sight of 3 large leonbergers that were beautifully behaved behaved (our little dachshund said his thoughts at the giants in front of him but settled). Onto the food, drink and staff. No complaints at all (they do need to fix the speaker near the toilets as it’s blown and makes a low level brr noise to the music but that’s minor) I had the fish and chips as I never order that in a pub and fancied it and my wife ordered a burger. Both were really tasty (the burger was an impressive thickness) All in all happily recommend (other dogs turned up during our stay, never trust a reviewer that doesn’t like dogs lol
