I have just experienced the worst service I have ever had. We arrived at 7.20pm and placed our order at about 7.30pm. I ordered salmon, new potatoes, asparagus and a creamy white wine sauce. My partner chose roast chicken. The lovely young waiter explained that the chef had run out of new potatoes. We were offered 3 other type of potatoes and chose sweet potato fries. So far so good. We then waited and we waitedâŠ. The young man serving us was very apologetic for the delay and did everything he could to let us know that they were having problems in the kitchen - the usual chef had gone off sick, so the owner had stepped in to cook! He also said that the restaurant had only just re-opened etc. No problem. We waitedâŠand waitedâŠ.and waited⊠We then went inside because we were getting a bit cold. We overheard conversations in the kitchen which made us feel uncomfortable. After numerous apologies, our food arrived at 9.15pm!! The food took 1 and 3/4 hours to arrive! I could have cooked these 2 meals 3 times over in this time. There were only about 6 people outside during the whole time we were there and we were told there was a family of 4 inside. When it arrived, the salmon and fries tasted good BUTâŠ.there was no sign of any asparagus or creamy white wine sauce, just some very over-cooked broccoli and disgusting, watery, tinned carrots. We were told by the waiter that we only needed to pay 1/2 price for our meal and drinks which was a relief⊠We paid this and then I asked to speak to the chef (apparently also the ownerâŠ) Initially he wasnât willing to come but I asked again and he came. I calmly told him that I had not experienced such slow service ever⊠I then made him aware that I hadnât received any asparagus in white wine sauce as written on the menu⊠(I didnât complain about the quality of the vegetables I was given.) What really upset me was when the owner/chef started to try to blame the young waiter for this! The owner/chef tried to tell me that it was the hotelâs âpolicyâ that the waiter should have explained to / given me a choice about what I wanted⊠I felt really annoyed at this point because I felt this man was taking absolutely NO responsibility for: a) the exceptional long delays b) the missing ingredients c) providing me with only 1/2 of the meal that I had actually ordered. This owner/chef kept trying to pin the blame on his young and very patient staff member. I really cannot recommend eating here. What we experienced here was more than teething problems of a newly opened restaurant. There was a complete lack of respect by the owner/chef towards his own staff and towards me as customer. I have never experience anything like this before.

Drove past the pub many times doing my job, decided to go in, and was delighted to see they had Exmoor Gold ale on one of my favourites đ plus other ales and a well stocked bar. Ordered a drink for my partner and 2 bags of scratchings On seeing other people tucking into their food, we asked for menus. Ordered fish and chips twice, which was served nice and hot, and it was delicious will be frequenting again for sure.

Looks like the Neuadd Arms is closed for the forseeable future as although you can book a reservation on the website, when you call the pub the answerphone tells you that the pub is closed. Just saying. Quite normal for Wales to have total lack of communication as it would have been good to know before setting off and arriving at a locked door.

Quite small and cramped, no real tables for 3 and not allowed to use 2 tables (ie a table of 4). Coffee was ok, hot and tasty but no sugar free syrups (also charging 55p for oat/soya milk I don't think is fair). Kids cheese on toast (glad I didn't go with the smaller of the 2 kids options)- it wasn't even one slice of bread, it was 3/4 of a slice, tasted ok but still really poor considering the price. No squash for kids, charging ÂŁ2.50 for a small carton of juice!! Overall, I definitely wouldn't return given I paid nearly ÂŁ18 for hardly anything I know I can get my moneys worth in several better coffee shops in the area.
