Excellent food and service. A real find and very good value for money. Recommended.

Tried to get in here for lunch on a Saturday. It was packed and food smelled delicious. There was a sign asking you to wait there to be seated. It was packed so we looked around the centre and returned an hour later following the instructions wait to be seated. There was a free table and the food looked great. We were then told there were no seats for at least an hour. A man came behind us having been earlier and having explored the centre returning as he'd been told in an hour. Had we known it was a waiting list and not a wait here to be seated we would have registered our interest an hour earlier and then eaten there. Misleading information about the system in place left us disappointed. We did however get a warm welcome and delicious lunch 10mins away at the Dinorben Arms.

It was July 2021 when we last visited this superb place and we were not disappointed upon on our return ! The staff are still lovely and friendly and helpful . The food was delicious and plenty of it . I still highly recommend you visit, I'm sure you will enjoy the experience. The craft / antique centre is good for a wander round either before or after you've eaten . 10 out 10

We have been here in the past and enjoyed it, however, this time we felt it was overpriced and not good value or standard . Prices are way too high for the venue/cafe. Food was very average. We couldn’t believe our bill…We will not return.

We love the food here, the staff are lovely. It's always busy, so we book a table for lunch when we are visiting Wales. Yesterday, I had the oven roasted trout followed by a wonderful trifle. My husband had the trio of lamb chops with apple crumble for afters. Very enjoyable x

Lovely food, superb staff. I went with friends (one of whom is blind and in a wheelchair); unfortunately, she dropped her latte, which was in a traditional, tall glass mug. The staff came over straightaway with cloths to clear it up, and offered to replace the drink, free of charge, in a cup that was much easier to handle. When she was served her lunch, the waiter asked if she would like to use some cutlery with easy-grip handles, and these were brought immediately. First class service and a lovely lunch.

This is our regular weekly visit for Sunday lunch. My wife and I and her parents. This is a great venue which gets it right every time. Glad to see the Stroganoff back on the menu. Perfectly cooked and delivered with care and grace. As I mentioned to the owner, Afonwen is our bench-mark for other eateries that we use (and they are varied !) Try the Ice-cream, wonderful.

Food was fresh but unfortunately cold. It would help if plates were hot to keep food hotter for longer. Eggs on toast , both items were cold. Eggs and bacon on the full breakfast were cold too. But lovely place, friendly staff and will return to try it out again. Desserts look better than what they tasted but were ok as home baked

Amazing food, service, atmosphere and staff. Thos is a hidden gem, top quality. If you are staying in the Heron Lake Retreat, this is a five minute walk away. It is joined to the Craft Shop which has jewellery, cards, gifts, antiques etc, really beautiful little find. My Mum had the beef and ale pie and asked the chef to come out to tell him it was the best pie she had ever tasted.

The staff here are nothing less than superb, nothing is too much trouble for them, the food is excellent also. If only all eating places were run like this!

This place is a little gem. Had the Sunday roast, while my wife had the vegetarian option of Quiche. Great portions, fantastic food at a very reasonable price. The sweet selection is the best I have ever come across all home made. The Cheese is our favourite, and if you haven't got room you can take away. With the gift shop and Antique centre it is the perfect way to spend the afternoon. We have learnt to book in advance as the restaurant can get very busy. We have discovered this is a family run buisness and all of the staff are fantastic.

We were visiting the Antiques Centre and decided to have lunch here. There were 7 of us (one in a wheelchair) and we hadn't booked. The staff could not have been more helpful. One lady was particularly good as they were very busy but said she'd keep us one if we could come back in 30 minutes. We had a look round upstairs at more antiques and came back to find she'd got us a perfect spot with plenty of room. The rest of the staff were so friendly and helpful. The menu had a good choice and all the food was delicious. We were on holiday but can certainly recommend Edenshine and will definitely call again if in the area.

Three of us visited for Lunch. What a pleasure. The food was very good. The salads are just that little bit special and it makes such a difference. We also couldn’t resist the cakes. The service was very good and staff were attentive. I couldn’t fault it and will definitely recommend and return.

Based upon an absolutely delicious lunch today, it reminded us that it’s been far too long since our previous visit. The food was fabulous, the service exceptional and the overall ambience just right. Most tables were full, the other food brought looked rather appealing, especially the size of the lamb chops. But whatever you choose, remember, the chips are awesome, don’t miss out.

We had never visited before but had had loads of positive feedback from friends that had. We hadn't booked but we were lucky we arrived quite early for lunch and were seated with no problems but I recommend booking. I ordered quiche and my husband ordered beef and ale pie. The food arrived fairly quickly considering everything looked freshly cooked and prepared. It was absolutely delicious and was a decent portion. Because it was our first visit and our anniversary we treated ourselves to a dessert which was also delicious and beautifully presented. I would definitely recommend a visit and will be returning for sure.

Incredible food very well presented. Service was quick and friendly. Only thing they were so busy on a wednesday lunchtime we only just got the last outside table. So booking is essential. Oven baked salmon was exceptional, salads were every fresh.

A hidden gem! 4 of us friends were staying at Herons Lake Retreat and Edenshine is a short walk down the road. The breakfast is amazing, coffee is great, lunch was delicious and the Sunday roast was superb! They offer cakes, afternoon tea, light bites, desserts. The staff were excellent and very welcoming.

We've been here a few times and are always impressed with the service and the quality of homemade food. Recently, we had the luxury afternoon tea-they don't make the sandwiches until you arrive! Delicious! There's also a gift shop, visiting artists and antiques to explore after you've eaten. Highly recommended.

Gotta be honest and say the style/decor put me off a little (it could be best described as "eclectic") but they say 'never judge a book by its cover' for good reason - the food is frankly of a spectacularly high quality and the menu options are wider than you might find in places 10 times the size. I found it really difficult to decide but eventually plumped for good old BLT and chips and it was as good as any I've ever had. Even the side salad was varied, delicious AND FRESH (why do some places find that so hard). The jewel in their crown though was their staff - could these be the best an nicest restaurant staff anywhere?

We came here when staying in the area and we blown away with how beautiful the food was , we kept saying it was made with love . It most certainly was , you can tell it was all fresh produce from local farms and home cooked . Nothing was processed , it was so yummy ! The staff were the most pleasant loveliest people we’ve met and took the time out to really engage with the customers . We were only here for 2 days but came here for both . We can’t wait to return in the summer ♥️

I had a very enjoyable meal here with five very dear friends, and apart from the kitchen having (understandably) run out of a very popular dish, everything was faultless. The tables were arranged so that although it was busy and full of lively chatter, it wasn't noisy. The food was very good, and a very reasonable price for really great quality. Would very much recommend.

Wonderful afternoon - plenty of choice on the menu & all delicious home made food. I had warming sweet potato soup to start served with croutons and a warm roll & butter, chicken stroganoff with rice for main and peach & strawberry sherry trifle for dessert.

Lunch with a friend, went for the 3 course new Christmas menu, I had the veggie option. Good range of options and all well presented and tasty, service excellent, staff friendly and very welcoming. Not hurried so we were able to take our time and chat and followed our meal with a look round the antiques centre in the same building. Plenty of parking, lovely setting, might be worth booking as they get very busy. Good place for morning coffee and cake or afternoon tea too

It was a busy Sunday lunch time and we called in for a snack and drink. Staff are very friendly and efficient and all the food looked good. We had an excellent parsnip soup. Followed by scone, which wasn't crisp enough on the outside but was very fresh and warm. It was disappointing to be served canned foam cream rather than proper clotted cream. A lovely traditional restaurant and tea room.

Whilst visiting family in Caerwys we stopped here for lunch it’s a lovely place and everyone is very friendly I had the pork and leek goulash and my sister had the pie with fresh vegetables everything was delicious my sister also had the chocolate pudding I asked for two slices of tea bread to take out when I got home it was dry which was a shame I have been there in the past and will continue to visit when we are in the area again as everything is always so delicious you are not at all rushed and it’s always nice to wander around the shops afterwards

Lots of choices on the menu including vegatarian and allergy and intolerances. Very well organised here. Always great service from uniformed, happy, helpful staff. It was my wife's birthday and and the weather was lovely so we went for a ride in North Wales. Having been to Edenshine previously we decided to stop and have lunch there. The staff were first class and we had a wonderful meal. I cannot speak to highly about this restaurant, a very enjoyable visit.

Have no issue whatsoever with the 25p water charge donated to Air Ambulance. Great idea. We also like the ‘mini menu’ idea for a smaller portion meal and ***red stars for a mini pudding so like us we were quite full but managed a mini dessert . Always had a great meal here and today was no exception. Everywhere including the shops, craft areas, antique shop and glass displays were immaculate. Love the menu here and yes slightly more expensive but all homemade and local produce used. Very well organised and happy, helpful staff . Lots of gifts ideas for Christmas in the shops. Booked for lunch. Service throughout from entering the door could not be faulted. Nothing was too much trouble and quick service. Absolutely spoiled for choice on the menu. I had 2 courses from the set menu. Fish pie was wonderful - just the right size, nice and fresh, very tasty, fresh and lovely veg on the side. BUT then the pudding was AMAZING. Pure bliss on a plate. I had the banana fudge whatever and honestly the best pudding I've ever had.

We met up with family at the Afonwen Craft Centre, just off the A55 ( follow signs for Caerwys) for lunch and to view the craftwork on display on two floors, I say lunch - this was early afternoon 3 course meal. I loved the mackerel on tomato bread starter so much that I asked for a second potion in lieu of main course. The tiramisu pudding was good, too.This whole building (a former school, I believe) is well worth a visit. I liked very much the (original) white tiles on the walls - memories of school?

My wife and I visited late afternoon and had a superb meal consisting of fresh trout, which had been acquired locally that morning. It was beautifully cooked and all accompanying veg excellent. We will be moving to the area soon so will certainly visit again.

A delightful restaurant contained within an old converted woollen mill which also houses an antique department beautifully laid out and full of wonderful items. The restaurant serves delicious home made food in the form of lunches and afternoon teas and the menu is substantial with a wide range to suit all tastes. The restaurant is licenced and bottles of wine are very reasonably priced. There is a large car park and outdoor seating. Not far from a junction on the A55 signposted Caerwys. We've been visiting here for years and we've never been disappointed the food is always delicious, the staff are always welcoming & their collection of cakes are amazing. Definitely worth a trip.

Although it was not the first time we have had afternoon tea at Edenshine we had not been for about six months.The standard of presentation and quality was first class and as good as ever. We chose ham sandwiches and cheese and pickle excellent and it was proper ham too. The sponge cakes and scone brilliant and the raspberry meringue wow factor.

Booked to eat lunch today (13/06/19) very warm welcome, staff were attentive and engaging, service was great. Excellent menu choice and the food was well presented, well cooked and tasty. Overall excellent. Will definitely visit again.

Having eaten here on many occasions we were looking forward to lunch with friends. Service was VERY slow. We sat at 1.30 but didn't get food until almost 2.30 p.m. It was busy but then it always is. Two of us had steak pie and in fairness the meat was lean and soft and beautifully cooked. However the pie was as tough as shoe leather. Never have had tough pastry but the knife wouldn't cut it. I had a date and walnut pudding with a spiced sweet sauce and cinammon ice cream which was utterly fabulous but hubby had rhubarb crumble which he was disappointed with. He says it wasn't a proper crumble.

We had been staying in the Chester area for the previous week and were returning from a trip to rhyl,we spotted the signs for the craft centre and decided to divert and have a look around .we did not know there was a restaurant there and as it was time for our usual daily lunch we decided to eat there .well this was definitely the best meals we have had on this holiday and everyone was completely satisfied with everything we ordered.all the meals were freshly cooked to order with quality ingredients, delightful flavours and presented well .the staff were very efficient and friendly. We would recommend this restaurant to any lover of good food .
