The Butchers Arms in Flintshire

Had a great meal here recently. We took our dog and sat in the pool room which was a bit small but was fantastic for what we needed. The meal was fantastic and the service was also amazing. We were made to feel so welcome and will definitely visit again! The portions were gigantic and amazing value for money. We asked the chef lots of questions and she was more than happy to answer them honestly. Thank you for an amazing time and we will see you again very soon! The pictures I’ve added don’t do it justice but we highly recommend!

Visited the pub on spec on a Friday evening. The pub was quiet at this time so we decided to have a nice relaxing evening over a pint and meal. A short while later a few locals arrived... This is a great pub having been in the same family since 1915, something the current landlady owner is very proud of. The character of the pub certainly is what we were looking for. We had the home made steak pie ( awesome) and gammon Everything came out hot..hot hot... Which is a nice change to some pubs nowadays. Karen the landlady came out after cooking and she's lovely. Very welcoming. We had a nice evening... and left knowing we will be returning soon... I've given it 4 stars but it should be 4plus. Gammon could have been cooked a little more but that's just my preference as it was a BIG gammon. I've no doubt on our next visit it will be a full 5 *.... Yes.. I'd certainly recommend it

Used as a motorhome stopover and what a find,the food was fantastic and the father and daughter who run it are fantastic as well I will definitely use again if in that area.

As a family, we have been coming here for a number of years. I can honestly say that you get first class service at this lovely, family run pub. The staff always make an effort to ensure you have a very welcoming reception, the food is super delicious and it is a generally positive atmosphere for all. For us, it's just like visiting relatives and this is how all pubs used to be!!

Uses locally produced meat and always excellent value for money.

This place is a little jem hidden not to far away from the towm of Mould, North Wales. A proper old traditional pub which has a very warm feeling and everyone is welcome to pop in. Great meals and deserts with a good menu. The staff are great and very friendly. If you are stopping for a few night in the cottage next door or passing in a campavan(which they do cater for) then pop in on your journey.

Look at the meal!! Wow!! Random stop off, we didn't actually plan to stop here, but so glad we did. Amazing food. Great portions, fair price. Would definitely recommend!!

The family had a very tasty traditional Sunday dinner here, served piping hot, and cooked to perfection. I had the Veg Lasagne and vegetables.. all of it was spot on. Lovely pudding choices.. two course meal (you can have a soup alternative starter) at a great price..We left totally stuffed. Definitely coming back

Just a small room that they allow dogs, why not the bar area I don't understand

We visited The Butcher’s Arms in March 2023 in our campervan. There’s a fabulous little area that self/contained campervan and motorhomes can use for free as long as they go into the pub for a drink and/or meal. The pub is a traditional, family run free house. Our food was excellent and tasted really good. Highly recommend Richard’s homemade steak pie, indeed all 4 of us had it and didn’t regret our decision at all. The pub is slightly quirky in a positive way but that just adds to the ambience.

Friendly traditional pub. Didn't eat but has a reputation for quality home made grub. I stopped over in the van one night and had a few pints of Guinness. This pub has been run by the same family for generations. Can't stress enough how friendly and welcoming this pub is.🚙🏕️

Myself and my 3 friends visited The Butchers Arms this week and we were very happy with the service and food we had. We were instantly greeted by the landlady and made to feel very welcome in this lovely, traditional old pub. There is a good selection of food on the menu and the servings are generous. The food was all homemade and delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we decided to choose a pudding as well. All in all we had a good night and will certainly be back again in the near future.

We have visited twice recently got the steak and clay shooting package and I'd highly recommend it especially for new shooters. It's a lovely family atmosphere with zero pressure and loafs of fun. Shooting is completed safely with instructions for those that need it. This is followed by a hearty meal and dessert ....I wholly recommend you try it. This is how local pubs should be ....friendly , great home cooked food and good bar prices.

Nice cosy pub great staff, Pint, and great Food

There was a very warm welcome for all at this afternoon's funeral tea, tea/coffee on arrival or drinks from the bar. The buffet was fresh, delicious with plenty and great variety of savoury, sweet and cheese board. A lovely atmosphere in this well kept traditional village pub.

Good old fashioned pub, with good old fashioned food, served quickly and piping hot.

We had a lovely evening and made to feel very welcome, an excellent meal with generous portions. The type of pub you would like as your local.

We checked on web site for motorhome stop over pub. Found this pub in quiet location. Arrived just after 5pm and web site said open. Door was locked. On door new opening hours sunday 7pm. So we sat in mh and waited for 7pm. Again went to door locked tried ringing no answer . Sent message which was read but no reply. So we had cook food in mh . We did stay in carpark . Did not use facilities Very disappointed as we were looking forward to a lovely meal.

cant fault this place been lots of times , i have a few beers , never tried the food but looks stunning, landlord very friendly and so is his daughter, they do a great job and always make us feel welcome.. the locals are so friendly too.... we wouldn't stop anywhere else when visiting family in Flint, North Wales.....

Stayed for a long weekend, ideal for a couple travelling through. Cottage was tidy, but kitchen was dirty and I had to clean everything down & wash all dishes before use. Although allows dogs not dog friendly at all , no out door space that is secure for them. Front door is right next to a very busy country lane with not much security or privacy as outside our front door was used as car park for the pub Would not recommend

Burnt and dry lasagne and burnt garlic bread you shouldn't send out to a customer.

We stopped off here on the way home for something to eat after dropping the car off in Mold!! My god I'm glad we did, the food was top notch and cooked to perfection, great atmosphere and brilliant hosts, the wife wasn't expecting such a wonderful experience from a small country pub in the middle of nowhere as she explained it lol 😂 Richard and Karen you've nailed it again, well done 👏

A basic country pub but you're always welcomed by mine host, Richard and daughter, Karen who is also the chef. The food is always excellent, plenty of it and reasonably priced.

We had a lovely meal and we had our motor parked up. our young puppy managed to escape and went into the bar bit were apparently he was just being a puppy saying hello to everyone, i was told the landlord picked him up by his scruff..fair enough... he was yelping and crying and he just threw him out the door... luckily we were frantically looking for him and there.. otherwise he could easily of been run over by cars travelling far too fast on the country roads... He knew exactly who owned him as we had all been in the pub with our dogs and spent over £100 on food... certainly wouldn't of hurt to give us a shout and we would of got him.. and apologised. Supposed to be dog friendly... the lady who told me how my poor pup was treated was appalled and i felt sick hearing it all... we will not be returning and neither will they apparently. 😔🐾😔🐾

Went here for a Clay Pigeon shoot and meal, both were great. Friendly atmosphere, nice food, I never usually order steak as I find it tough. This Steak was very tender and tasty, dessert was good too. Nice size portions at reasonable prices.

Top class food and drink very homely

OK, I am biased as I have been going to this pub since I was sixteen years old and just love the homely atmosphere. Richard and family have been running the place since forever. The beer and wine options are basic but that is a minor point as their food is good heart warming stuff. A little out of the way for most but if you like a really traditional pub, then this is definitely it.

Come every year for incredible food and Christmas morning drinks with the family!

A very rustic restaurant bar that transports you back to the good old days. Richard and Karen have put a lot of love in maintaining the place for the last 40 over years, and keeping all its vintage brass & copper decors beautifully polished for us to admire. Karen also puts a lot of care in cooking and serving her delicious home cooked food. A jem that should be treasured by all; especially in our rapid changing world. Visit them and give them your support if you are close by.
