Worth every five star review it receives. Best meal we had in Tenby and lovely relaxed surroundings. Food was beautiful and with lovely service from the family who run it. If you want a special meal this is the place to visit, but make sure you book in advance.

Absolutely fabulous , lovely menu and delicious food and excellent service, this was our second visit and we will certainly return when next in Tenby

Food and wine was wonderful cannot fault it friendly service we will be back again soon. It is best to book ahead to avoid disappointment as the restaurant was very busy with lots of satisfied diners.

We were lucky enough to walk in and eat without a reservation. Both the service and food were excellent. We both enjoyed our meals and appreciated the attention afforded by ownership. A restaurant for special occasions and regular nights alike. Certainly a top restaurant in Tenby. We would return and recommend.

This was our first time and we will go back when next in Tenby .The ambiance is amazing and the food is 10 out of 10. Nice relaxed evening and the staff are friendly , sociable , give good advice and don’t rush you. We have been to many restaurants but this stands out for food quality and value for money.

Lovely experience in the intimate, well appointed and friendly restaurant. The staff are really lovely and helpful. Food was excellent. I had a whole Sole and my wife had Sea Bass. Both delicious. My wife is Gluten Free and there are lots of options because all of the food is cooked fresh. For desert, there is only one option that could not be served GF which is highly unusual. Really enjoyable visit. Probably the best restaurant visit we had whilst in Tenby.

This is what a good restaurant should be, welcoming, friendly, relaxed with very pleasant and attentive Staff. Its probably the most Atmospheric restaurant in town set inside the city walls. The menu is full and varied plus there’s a super Fish Specials board., the food is cooked to order, presented well and is always excellent quality. It wouldn’t be a trip to Tenby without a visit to The Stables.. Highly recommended

Had Sea Bass and Duck Goujons, followed by Bread and Butter Pudding. All excellent. Service was pleasant and efficient. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Booked a few weeks in advance, so glad we did. Lovely restaurant, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Food wasn’t cheap, but you get what you pay for and our food was amazing Our food was hot tasty and presented well. Homemade desserts were beautiful. The table is yours for the evening, so no rush. We were looking forward to our meal. Had read previous reviews My hubbie had lamb which he said was very good but not worth £36 I ordered Duck and Noodles. The DUCK was COLD. I did tell them and they did say they could re-warm it??? I refused as i didn’t wanted it heated through again, it should have been hot when served. They apologised. I was hungry so i ate it. Check your bill too. We tried to pay for 4 bottles of sparking water, we had 2, the guy told the young lady we had 4 glasses of water🙈🙈🙈 We would not return and honestly we eat in lots of nice restaurants we could not recommend Very pricey for what you get .

This restaurant was the best that we visited on our week holiday in Tenby. We booked a table quite late but we were able to get a table for Friday night at 7.30pm. The restaurant is quite small and is located within the walls of the town - so the inside had some of the brickwork on show - the decoration overall was very nice. The food was excellent and for our mains we had two of the specials - sea bass and dover sole. Everyone in our party had 3 courses which were all superbly cooked and presented by the chef (Nan). We were served mainly by her granddaughter. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife and i had never tried this place, yet we come to Tenby quite a lot, so we booked it, well what a lovely place to eat the food was superb and the staff were excellent too, a family run Restaurant, the Atmosphere was good too, will be back to this place ASAP.

We came for dinner with no reservations. Everyone was kind enough to make room for us. The owner stopped by to chat and asked where we were going. When we told him, he advised us of how far it really was (4 hours) and suggested we rethink our plans as it was already 7pm. We agreed and discussed places to stay. I told him that we needed something that was handicap accessible, and he said he would think about it. A bit later, he came back and told us that he found us a hotel that was accessible, and called them to confirm they had rooms for the night. He did not have to do that. The kindness we have experienced in Wales has humbled us. We cannot be more grateful. Now, to discuss our meal. It was some of the best food we have ever eaten. Cooked perfectly in an amazing atmosphere. I highly recommend trying it...but make a reservation!

A hidden gem of a restaurant in the walls of Tenby Town, without doubt the best steak I've had in the past 5 years which was our last trip here, lamb was excellent and all food was clearly cooked with excellence in mind, great service and atmosphere, a place not to be missed

We had a perfect evening here 6/4/24. We both felt our food was perfect 10/10. (I had salmon & my partner had lamb). The hosts were friendly & welcoming. The venue was beautiful & cosy. The wine was delicious. The other diners were lovely too. Puddings were gorgeous (tia Maria slice & chocolate torte). The best meal we have had in Tenby - which is saying something because we have enjoyed all resturants - but this tops it because of the quality & freshness of the food alongside the atmosphere. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

A 50th anniversary family celebration -only one restaurant for us for such a special night - the stables did not disappoint - lots of different choices for a table of 12 - fresh hake , duck , steaks with a Devine French onion soup to start. Service is fantastic well done all

We were delighted by our meal at The Stables. They have some interesting well priced wines, the menu is varied and enticing. The spicy crab in its shell was delicious as was the smoked salmon for starters and the lemon sole and hake mains even better! Service was friendly and well paced. Altogether highly recommended.

This place is a master of disguise. A chintzy, inviting doorway within the town walls: yet a very ordinary 60s-style pine-tabled interior. Polite welcome. Prompt service. Full menu. And eye-watering, over-inflated prices even by Tenby's already excessive restaurant pricing. Which wouldn't matter so much if they were worth it. The best sauce in the world cannot disguise poor-quality meat.

Fantastic little bistro run by a husband and wife team who clearly have lots of experience in the hospitality industry. We skipped starters and went straight for the fillet steak with Stilton cheese, this seems to be the restaurants signature dish and was simply amazing. It was served with a red wine sauce and a side of fresh veg. We plumped for a bottle of reasonably priced Merlot to wash our meal down with and enjoyed it so much ordered a second bottle. Cheese cake for dessert which again was excellent. The service is fantastic and the table is yours for the evening so you can relax and enjoy your food and wine. The bill was as you would expect for a quality experience but we will remember the food long after we have forgotten the price. Highly recommended

Although we live very far away we always aim to eat here when in Tenby. The food is, without exception, beautifully cooked and presented, the menu varied and interesting and there is always a great atmosphere.

We visited last night & had an exceptional meal. We opted for the fish as a main & it was just perfect as was our starters & scrumptious puddings! Friendly & welcoming family business, we felt really lucky to have experienced this restaurant & would absolutely recommend a visit, so book in advance.

This friendly restaurant is set in the town walls and has a cosy ambience with gentle lighting and quiet music. We came here partly because my companion is vegetarian, and the veggie offerings are far more imaginative than the usual veggie burger/chilli/lasagne. When we commented on this, we learned that the chef herself is vegetarian. A jug of water and bread and butter were provided. We started with G&Ts - Brecon gin, Fever Tree light; we could have shared a bottle of tonic rather than having one each, but it didn't matter. Then we shared two starters: the classic mozzarella/tomato/basil salad, and an inventive beetroot and lentil terrine which looked like a heavy lump but was light with beautiful flavours. For a main course, after some discussion with the helpful server, my companion chose red kidney bean kiev which he said was excellent. I had half a big lobster, a huge treat, with lemon and parsley - I could have chosen three other options - and it was very fresh and perfectly cooked, with a lovely fresh salad, and a bowl of top quality veg to share, again perfectly cooked. A bottle of Rioja went down very well with the food. My partner had no room for dessert but I can't resist a creme brulee. The creme was perhaps a little more runny than usual, but it tasted great, and had a few fresh raspberries in which was a nice touch. This is not a cheap restaurant, our bill came to approx £150, so it's a special occasion place rather than everyday (unless you're really rich). But I think the cost was reasonable for the quality of the food, drinks, service, and atmosphere; I have rarely had a better meal out. This was my first visit to Tenby but if I come again in future, one of the first things I will do is book a table here for another visit.

We enjoyed a wonderful evening here last night. Fish menu was too enticing to bother looking at other options so I opted for hake and my husband salmon. There was a large dish of perfectly cooked vegetables for us to share. The restaurant itself is welcoming and steeped in history, the layout is great with the front area mostly tables for two, with the second room for 4 or more. We would like to mention the professionalism of all the staff and owners who did their best to protect us from a couple on an adjacent table, who clearly bored of sharing their successful, high profile, well travelled lives with each other sought to share it with any other diner willing to listen. Really good food, friendly staff and good value for money

This small restaurant is situated within the wall of Tenby castle. It is quaint and welcoming. I would suggest booking as tables are limited and from my experience they do a single sitting. Very friendly owners. Good wine list and great menu. Did not feel rushed or pressured and nothing was too much trouble. Made a birthday meal memorable and special.

If you only eat out in one place in Tenby, make sure it's Stables restaurant. From the moment that you step across the threshold, you're immediately enveloped with the sense that you've definitely made the right decision to book a table here. The interior is dripping with an overall ambience that is spot-on and the staff are welcoming and attentive, but without being in your face. And as for the food - where to start? Fresh, beautifully prepared, full of flavour and all from a menu that has clearly been developed by a chef that knows a thing or two about preparing wholesome, quality dishes. If our experience was anything to go by booking is essential, but I don't believe for one minute that's a decision that you'll regret. Truly a top-class establishment.

Fab food more then you ever could expect The chef owner/ bartender husband were personal and friendly but their wait help rude and rushed. They didn’t help you in menu choices, they were not helpful nor were they trained in hospitality. Had dinner to celebrate our Silver Wedding anniversary. The staff were welcoming, pleasant and very accommodating. Very nice food, well cooked with good accompaniments, good choice - our table had 4 different mains and all were good . Phone signal is poor (they make a point of that and suggest talking to each other which is fine by us. First of all, the staff were absolutely lovely. The food was nice, but had flaws. I had lamb, which was very chewy but did taste nice. My fingers were aching after spending a lot of time trying to cut through it. My partner had venison. They asked if we wanted blood on the plate, which was kind of a strange question. Meat should be rested after cooking to avoid this. The restaurant is very cosy and has a nice atmosphere. I don't mind paying money for good food, but in my opinion the menu is over priced for the quality of food served. A nice place to eat, but was expecting a lot more for the price.
