Not the best of experiences Lunch for three at No 57 proved to be memorable for all the wrong reasons This is a restaurant that we had previously had lunch on more than four occasions. Lunch on Tuesday September 3rd was a day when we said Never again. We had to ask twice for our allocated table to be cleaned , sent a water glass back as it had lipstick on the rim and had to ask for cutlery after the meal was left on the table which wouldn’t have bothered us too much If the rest of our visit had been as previous visits. Various dishes were ordered ranging from five small plates to one main fish course. One dish was a Korean style chicken which of delivery to the table ,I commented to the manager/waitress that the chicken was cold (lukewarm) but I was not overly concerned as I felt that it would be equally tasty hot or cold. The waitress responded that the chicken was served hot but the sauce cold. There were approximately five pieces which were barely warm but very tasty. Eating the last piece I was aware of an unpleasant texture in my mouth but thought little of it until I realised that the remaining half of the chicken piece was actually raw. We called the waitress who immediately took the meat away only to return to tell us that chef had tested the chicken temperature and he was happy with it. I explained that I wasn’t happy and asked to see the manager. The manager had clearly been apprised of our concerns and came to our table only to reaffirm the chefs views that in their opinion all was well. All the remaining dishes , in particular the cod dish were all very good , but the failure by the team to accept that the one dish was less than acceptable was not to our liking and indeed unacceptable. We were given two complementary desserts and did not pay for the chicken dish. The lesson from this is that, if a repeat and otherwise reasonable table of customers tell you that something is wrong, you accept it. Mistakes happen in the best kitchen but, if you fail to deal effectively with customer disappointment, then you lose that table and the friends they tell for good.

Lovely food, service was speedy at first but a bit slow when we'd finished our mains and wanted dessert. When we got home and I double checked the bill we were overcharged - only £1 - so no bg deal. Would go there again for the food.

Nearly missed it, as I didn't realise there was a bigger space at the back. All good otherwise.

Went here for breakfast. Portion sizes were good and the staff were attentive, polite and friendly. The seating area in the large marquee was lovely and well presented. The only downside was the bacon roll I ordered. It was smoky bacon and came in a brioche bun with no other options. I'm not a lover of smoked anything but had to go with it. The bacon was good quality but conversely meant the streaks of fat were also thick and hard to eat. I would definitely visit again.

Food amazing although experienced fluctuations in portions and presentations (same dishes ordered in the space of two weeks) Service: everyone very polite and friendly, but disappointed about some lack of attention to details (dirty table, mistakes in dishes, wrong choc flavour in our take away truffles). Maybe a particular unlucky day, but all these in one visit, have disappointed. Location :really nice, dog friendly, nice decor, deli stacked, amazing cakes, conservatory room a bit hot on sunny days. Overall I think it is a nice i place but unfortunately I would not rush back after today's experience.

We wanted to write and congratulate the team at 57 Bridge Street for another fabulous meal. We booked for one of their Friday theme nights, which are brilliant. They are such a novel addition to anything else offered in and around Usk and just a great way to try out different cuisines. We were joined by friends for the Steak and Grill night and the food was superb! All who had the steak were really impressed with the quality and the alternative options were also delicious (the Seabass was amazing!). The menu was varied and everyone said how good their meal was. The staff always impress us with their friendly attitude and nothing is too much trouble for them. A thumbs up for the selection of cocktails on offer, which gave our night an added element of fun! The saxophonist was a nice addition and provided a lovely atmosphere to eat and enjoy ourselves. If you’re wondering whether to try one of the Friday theme nights we would absolutely recommend. You’ll get amazing food in an atmospheric place with a team who really care about your dining experience.

We have visited No 57 several times and always had great food and a good ambience. This time we visited with our family as we had said how great the themed evenings were. Unfortunately this time was very disappointing. It was buns and baskets and live music. The food as usual was great but the live music was soooo loud we had to scream at each other to be heard. The singer only needed to be background music not sooo loud that you could not talk. We had to ask to be moved, which we were but into a smaller area by the toilet. Very disappointing visit with no apology for any inconvenience.

This restaurant gave us a delightful experience. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. Our first course of mushrooms in tempura batter was the most delicious starter that we have ever experienced. My partner's pork belly was selected as a main course and was big enough to satisfy. My choice of lamb was absolutely succulent and delicious. Our choice of sweets were lemon posset and cheesecake were simply GORGEOUS and mouthwatering. The house rose wine was a perfect accompaniment.🍷 👌 😍 We will DEFINITELY be returning. Thanks to all the friendly and efficient staff.

The coffee shop and delicatessen are well stocked, although, sales price tags aren't easily ready, the interior design is top class and is finished to a very good standard. The seating areas are roomy and very comfortable.

Best place to eat in Usk (and actually our favourite place to eat period!). So lucky to have this on our doorstep. Absolutely exquisite and divine food every time. Amazing cocktails and amazing service from a lovely team.

Excellent place for a relaxing brunch for me, my wife and son. Decent choice on menu, and we all had different dishes, and all were top class. Friendly and efficient service and nice setting in a tented extension to the main building. It wasn't cold in Winter either as I thought it may have been. Recommended.

Just been for the second time in the last few months. This is an exceptional restaurant with delicious very high quality food, lovely well trained and friendly staff.

Disappointed. The website claims dishes can be tweaked to suit. As I have some food intolerances I asked for a plain beef burger, bun and chips but it came with everything stated on the menu, except the onion rings. I said this wasn’t what I ordered ( two conversations with the waitress before I ordered!) So the dish was taken back to the kitchen and then returned curtly, with all those trimmings I didn’t want…still no onion rings though…I only ate the beef and a few chips…growing cold by now too. Also the chips were meant to be skin on fries but were not, and there was meant to be a biscuit with the coffee according to the menu…but there wasn’t one! Sloppy for somewhere that has such a self praising website. We couldn’t work out whether the bill was correct as there was nothing presented…just pay at the till…odd way to operate not to tender an itemised bill! I won’t be recommending this place to anyone based on this lunch.

Called in for a mid afternoon coffee. Tempted by an apple and nut cake which was excellent. Coffee was average and service good. Well priced.

We haven't been here for a few months since they took the market fish off the menu. It is now back so we are too. We had a very good lunch here yesterday starting with smoked duck salad followed by a very tasty monkfish main. Service was pleasant and timely. We will be back.

Travelling from Abergavenny to Langstone Newport today via Usk. Myself and a friend had a very nice lunch in very pleasant surroundings. We both had lamb kofftas which were very nice and even the lemonade was very enjoyable.( fever tree) Would highly recommend and as more than a few journeys via the town every month we be back Thank you

We enjoyed a 3 course lunch meal and would highly recommend the restaurant. Service was excellent and the food was stunning, both presentation and taste.

Whilst No 57 is one of my favourite places anyway, what an absolutely great rugby day. Tickets only event for food & big screen match, fantastic quality food, fabulous service (as always) and simply great value for money - will definitely do this again, thank you

Another great themed night at 57 Bridge Street - this time Thai night. The third themed evening we’ve been to and the food has always been excellent. The service is friendly and the Thai inspired cocktails were delicious. Great to see a full house, so book early if you want to go! Great venue and my go to place in Usk for coffee or lunch.

The single most amazing part of dining at 57 is the fact that the menu changes all the time. There’s a basic menu that changes monthly and a specials menu in addition that changes daily. We never tire of eating there because it’s different every day.

Good atmosphere, very nicely decorated for the season. All 5 of us had a delicious lunch. It was a bit cold although blankets were provided. The staff were very pleasant. Dress up warm and enjoy, after all it’s almost Christmas. 🎄

Lovely atmosphere outside under marquee. The log fire made it cosy and all the tasteful Christmas decorations added to the experience. We enjoyed our visit and will call again when we are in Usk.

Food as always fantastic , lovely staff . Deli at front has some lovely products . My only negative it was a little chilly in the restaurant area . I am sure when the log burner is lit this isn t a problem.

Love the atmosphere and themed nights with music. Small plates evening was great but wasn't as impressed with food which wasn't the best. Have heard they do a lot better so hope they improve if we go again.

Absolutely loved everything about this place. Lovely garden area, great selection - being able to eat from the deli or the menu. The food from both were astounding - steak and tuna cooked perfectly. Couldn't have done anything better myself and I am hard to please with food and drink! Particularly cocktails, the cocktails here were the best I have had this year and possibly last. All round impressive and wonderful experience with lovely staff.

Fantastic little deli / cafe. Good selection of breakfast and lunch menu items, with daily specials too. Staff are friendly and polite, prices reasonable. Since Covid, a great seating area has been erected at the rear of the property, bright and airy. Dogs welcome.

We've just finished a really delicious lunch of roast cheek, potato croquette with carrot ( don't know how it was cooked but it was divine). Had it as a take out due to our circumstances today. Staff were amazing, as usual-so helpful and so friendly....nothing is too much trouble for any of them. Look forward to next time.

Very disappointed in my 57 breakfast, if I could put 0 stars I would. Bacon looked, and tasted, like deep fat fryer overcooked strips, single hash brown also over cooked, mushroom soaked in fat but uncooked and cold in the middle, half a medium tomato! Small single sausage, one egg on fried soda bread, I declined beans and black pudding and was not offered anything instead. Definitely not a £11.95 full English breakfast, when I complained I was offered another mushroom 🤷🏻‍♀️

We had a voucher for Christmas 2019 which due to Covid we hadn't been able to use. 57 Bridge Street kindly extended the voucher for a further 6 months. We were not disappointed. The marquee was roomy and felt a safe environment. Staff were friendly...

Called from London at the last moment to order a mother's day delivery. Claire who answered the phone was extremely helpful and managed to squeeze in one more order as it was fully booked. A lamb roast was ordered, however a nicely presented delicious beef roast arrived on time and my partner's parents were delighted .
