We got married at Yr Hen Lys/The Old Courthouse in Ruthin, we went to Small Plates for our evening meal. There were 21 of us in total but it was not an issue. The staff and service were incredible, the drinks flowed, the food was out of this world! We were all recommended to get a starter and 2 small plates each, it was the perfect amount, every dish was presented beautifully and the flavours were spectacular. We even had people in our group with the strangest of allergies, but the staff were very knowledgeable about all of the ingredients in the dishes and were able to tell each of these people what they should avoid. I would highly recommend this very special place, and the dessert/coffee if you have room for it! Thank you Small Plates, you were beyond our expectations!

Absolutely shocking food handling. One women wearing blue gloves, cutting bacon then handling ready to eat salad stuffs without changing gloves.,didn't wash lettuce just cut it straight out of the packet and plates it. Girl on til handling money then went out back and touched sausage on a plate and bread without washing her hands. Dirty dishcloth being used to clean down surfaces and a tea towel used by numerous people to wipe hands and food prep surfaces. Am sat here watching them right now as a cook with 28 years experience and I cannot believe what I'm seeing. Absolutely disgusting, I ordered toast but won't eat it. Sporting a score of 2 on the door and place is crowded, mainly builder looking workmen. Place needs an EHO visit ASAP. You'd think with an open door and customers having clear vision of food prep and cooking etc they'd make sure they were working within food safety guidelines. Just a shame I don't work for environmental health as I'd have shut them down there and then. Don't recommend anyone eating here. They've been inspected last August and food handling was a concern then, they've obviously done nothing to improve it

Reservado el Quill y presupuesto para mi comida anual de Navidad con mi vecino Había leído excelentes comentarios. Y no me decepcionó. Y no tenía dinero. En este nivel de servicio, usted desea dar propinas generosamente. Esperamos con interés mi próxima visita.

We were travelling in West Wales in our motorhome and looking for a dog friendly restaurant - The Copper Pot was perfect! The 3 of us were made welcome and shown to a corner table so Monty our Border Collie could settle under the table with a bowl of water. The restaurant is very comfortable with friendly and efficient staff. Although it was a very busy Saturday night we did not have wait too long for our delicious food. We look forward to a return visit next time we are in the area.

We should have checked the number on the door but once seated it was like we were taking part in an episode of Inside No.9. In the space of the old butchers shop, four tables of two were individually introduced to the evenings concept by Head Chef whilst his Commis Chef meticulously laid plates. It was a secret tasting menu with wine pairing and as a loosener we were offered a fizzy scrumpy cider, apparently made in the technique of Champagne. This needed to be nursed as the main wine wasn't due to commence until 8.30. The two Chefs were busy at the pass preparing courses and each individual plate was dryly explained, thankfully to us all at once. In my reviews I would normally describe the food but at Sosban the ingredients of each serving is vast and more complicated than a science lesson, however the taste and flavour of each course reached its conclusion worthy of his star. Overall, the food was thoughtful and different, albeit smaller portions than the norm at such restaurants and one or two more courses would have been welcomed. The lively background music often competed with Head Chefs explanations and the evening ended quite abruptly, perhaps with the trademark twist we had expected at the start with an absence of coffee and petit fours.

This was our first visit of many to the Tonnau Restaurant. Great food, great service (Elin looked after us) and a really good price. Starters of duck spring rolls and the croquettes were amazing, steaks cooked perfectly. Already booked a return visit.
