Unless you want to go and be judged and give your money to people who don’t know how to treat their staff properly or care about them, I wouldn’t bother going. Over rated/priced food made by a chef who speaks to the waiting on staff horribly. Over priced drinks. Rude management. The best advice I can give is to not waste your money going and find somewhere more reasonably priced with nicer and more welcoming staff. Think the management all need replacing as they expect more of a little village local pub.

We were lucky to discover this gem in a search for dinner out whilst on holiday in Wales. What a find. After seeing people enjoying the evening sunshine on the smart terrace behind the car park we entered to a warm welcome from the barman in beautifully refurbished surroundings. Then followed by a delicious 2 course meal which was fresh and very tasty and was served to us by a lovely young woman and all staff we came into contact with were as pleasant and friendly, smart too. Everything was of high quality, including the crockery and glassware and we had a most enjoyable couple of hours. We booked in for another meal before we leave when we will try and leave room to try their desserts. As frequent visitors to the area we will definitely know where to return to The Cross Keys in Llanfyndd.

We visited the Cross Keys as a couple last Friday for an afternoon bite to eat whilst staying locally for the weekend. The welcome from Gwen as we walked through the door along with the warm glow of the fires (it was chilly outside) made us immediately relax and enjoy. The recent top class renovation of the place is abundantly clear, beautifully finished with detail. There is evidence of the community everywhere – artwork by locals and the story of the personal legacy which was explained to us, beautifully woven through. So already feeling great, on to the offerings. We had a main each and shared a pudding washed down with a very good Cote de Beaune. The ingredients were fresh – including the homemade tartare sauce with the fish and salsa with the burger. Great touches. The sticky toffee pudding which we shared was gone in a flash - delicious. Only downside to the meal was that we didn’t order two! The place was immaculate – including pristine bowls of the glassware, offered by the stem. With an F&B background, this was much appreciated and made the wine just that little bit better! We loved this visit so much that we flew by a few days later for a cheeky half on the terrace – beautiful seating and parasols make for a lovely space. It was really warm and felt like an instant relax. We got the opportunity to say hi to a couple of faces behind the reawakening of the Cross Keys who were winding down after a charity run – they were fun, welcoming, chatty and informative. Word on the street has it that this is the best pub in the world, and do you know what, that might just be right.

Absolutely blown away! Over the past few years I've become increasingly jaded by the rubbish dished out by local pubs in the area. Usually containing a hefty selection of the Brake Bros catalogue poorly presented and poorly served with often unreasonable prices. I'm an ex head chef and sommelier so it's fair to say I understand food and wine and enjoy it. It had sadly gotten to the point of not wanting to go out to eat such was the banality of the offerings. However, this evenings meal at the Cross Keys has been a revelation and the food and the service were excellent. Only comment I could make would be to reduce the size of the steak but serve it thicker so that a decent Malliard crust could be achieved. The sirloin was just too thin, half the size but twice the thickness would have made perfection. All in all a fantastic evenings dining, look forward to the next. Thanks guys!!

Booked table several days in advance for a celebration yet when we arrived appeared a problem with booking as took several minutes to be seated. After 10-15 minutes waiting to be served drinks, gave up & ordered at the bar. Mains eventually arrived and were very good however then took 45 minutes for desserts to arrive with one order missing, then having to chase it. Was told by staff this was due to running out of vanilla ice cream! (Why not ask if we wanted a different flavour) and that the kitchen was very busy. In summary, this is a lovely cosy village pub with open fires and good food, just a shame it was let down by the slow service.

This local pub had been closed for some while for refurbishment and what a thorough and superb job they have done. Many changes since my wife first visited fifty years ago. They have taken care to make for clean and light lines, whilst also ensuring that it is fully accessible and welcoming - not everyone bothers, even in 2024. My wife enjoyed a glass of the house Prosecco and I had a pint of lighter ale, both delicious. My wife had the pan-fried hake, with chickpeas and some greens. A generous portion where she could not quite manage all of the chickpeas, but I finished them, delicious. I settled for the DaalTadka, which was well spiced and crisply presented. For a pudding we each had a slice of the lemon tart. A little greedy, perhaps, but really delicious - so we did not need any dinner that night. Thank you Cross Keys, we’ll be back. Arrived to find our table was occupied, and the pub heaving. However, by the time we had a few sips from our drinks, the table was sorted. Amazing courteous staff, very attentive and nothing fazed them. Five star reviews for them too. All the food...

They’ve done a great job of refurbishing this place. It’s aim a lovely location next to a lively church and great walks nearby. Dog friendly as well. Fantastic log burners have been installed and make it a great place for a winter snug pub !...

Lovely place and been desperate to get in here over the last month. Finally booked in for Sunday lunch and I have to say a little disappointing. We’d booked the week before yet we were perched on a tiny 2 seater near a window when one other diner was on his own on a table for 4 which didn’t make sense. Wine was lovely, San Miguel was flat! I had the lamb dinner and my husband had Beef. Really small portion for the money. Two small slices of lamb, 4 tiny roast potatoes and for £18.95 overall not good value for money. Both meals were ‘Luke’ warm but I have to say gravy was tasty. Yorkshire pudding rock hard and overall portion size not great for nearly £20 per meal.

An amazing 18th birthday cake for my daughter that looked stunning and tasted just as good, if not better, than it looked. Will definitely recommend.

We had a party of 12 and everyone was as impressed with the service and the food. Paul the restaurant manager advised us to pre book our meals which we did and on arrival we were greeted by very attentive staff and our table was. ready for us. Our food arrived quickly and everyone enjoyed the occasion. I would think most of our party would return again, it was that good
