The Copper Pot in Ceredigion

We were travelling in West Wales in our motorhome and looking for a dog friendly restaurant - The Copper Pot was perfect! The 3 of us were made welcome and shown to a corner table so Monty our Border Collie could settle under the table with a bowl of water. The restaurant is very comfortable with friendly and efficient staff. Although it was a very busy Saturday night we did not have wait too long for our delicious food. We look forward to a return visit next time we are in the area.

Had such a DELICIOUS meal here a few weeks ago. Service was top notch and they went above and beyond for us! Also to add, had the sticky toffee pudding which was the best I've ever had! Can't wait to go back and try all the cocktails soon! Thank you CopperPot you smashed it :)

Food was outstanding full of flavour and large portions. Staff were attentive and friendly. Took our furry friend who was also welcomed. The Copper Pot is a little gem in the heart of the high street. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back

Would highly recommend The Copper Pot. We booked here for dinner on our honeymoon in Cardigan and were delighted by the friendly service and fantastic food. They even gave us a bottle of fizz on the house – which is over and above what I expected. Will go again when I'm back in Cardigan. Thanks guys!

We were staying in the area and wanted a really good Sunday Dinner. We used trip advisor and The Copper Pot had really good reviews. Wow wow wow. The Roast dinner did not disappoint. It was delicious. The Beef tender and a good size portion. Each and every vegetable very tasty indeed and cooked to perfection. The cauliflower cheese was to die for. Hubby had the Turkey which was equally as good. The lady serving was really cheerful and did a great job. Would thoroughly recommend eating here

Fabulous Sunday lunch with very generous portions. The cauliflower cheese and red cabbage were excellent table additions and all in very reasonably priced. Prompt and friendly service. We were too stuffed to have puddings though they also looked delicious. We will be back.

My husband and I had a lovely meal here, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and tasted amazing. Will definitely recommend to friends and family or other holiday guests.

We had Sunday lunch here last week and it was amazing. Great friendly atmosphere, and very reasonably priced for the amount of food! We both said it was the best roast dinner we've had for a long time, the sides that came with the roast were unreal. Staff couldn't have been more helpful, we would highly recommend.

Ahh, everything was perfect...burger is incredible. Baby carrots, delicious. That buffolo sauced cauliflower, omg, it was absolute best. Coctails were delicious. And, pecan tart and the cardamom ice cream was outworldly. I only wished this place was near my home. Unfortunately, its 4 hours away 😞😞 Special note: waitress who served us was really lovely, kind and attentive. Thanks so much for a perfect anniversary meal 😊

Walked in and found us a lovely table. The young lady who served us was so friendly. Now for the food, tasty, delicious burger and the Mongolian chicken was the nicest food I have tried in a long time it was so delicious and I highly recommend.

From London visiting family in Cardigan. Sunday roast honestly is up there with the best I’ve had and comfortably better than lots of places in London at a fraction of the price! Staff really nice and super attentive too

I have to admit I get VIP treatment when I visit, my owners are a bit jealous I think. And this visit was no different with a delicious doggy bowl just for me. Sunday lunch was the occasion, and my owners really enjoyed it again, but why wouldn’t they, great service, great food and a relaxed atmosphere , my only complaint I’d against them for not taking me here more often, harsh I know, but true. Not sure what Felinfoel double dragon is, but he loves it, whilst she loves the wine, but both had to wait whilst I was served my fresh bowl of water. If you haven’t been it’s right on the high street so you can literally drag your owners in as you pass, but suggest you get them to ring and book, it’s very popular apparently - tell them Hank sent you 👍

We had such a delicious meal here on our first night of holiday. The staff were very friendly and extremely accommodating for my husband's coeliac disease, which helped him to relax and enjoy the meal. The waitress was particularly friendly and was happy to find out what he could and couldn't have. The smashed burger was absolutely delicious! Haven't had such a good burger for a long time. The children's menu was small , four options but fine for us and two of the kids said the burger was the best they'd ever had! The other was impressed with her grilled chicken. There was no kid's pudding menu but this wasn't an issue as one adult pudding between two was perfect. The crumble was delicious, as was the sticky toffee pudding. The pricing seems appropriate and it is clear the quality of ingredients is high, such as the beef. The atmosphere was nice and cosy and we would highly recommend for people who want excellent food and excellent service. We hope to visit again.

Lovely food and very good cocktails. Their pornstar martini is fantastic and is up there with one of the best place to make one. I'd highly recommend visiting this place, as it's one of the best places for pub food in Cardigan.

Lovely meal here for our anniversary

Amazing place, amazing food, amazing atmosphere. We had originally booked elsewhere but they didn’t have any available gluten free options so we changed our minds. The copper pot was welcoming and accommodating, with a clearly marked and delicious menu. The food came out quickly and well presented, they double check our order and while delivering our food specified which sides were also gluten free even though the member of our party that is gluten free didn’t want them but it was lovely to know just in case. And even though there was a power cut just as we finished our food we all had a wonderful time!

Best Sunday lunch I have eaten at a restaurant in a very, very long time. Will definitely return. Took about 15 minutes to get us seated but the lunch more than made up for that. Nice friendly staff too.

Hello there, We dined here on Saturday evening and it was an all round superb experience. Firstly, the food is of an exceptional standard, and it is clear that all the chefs are hardworking and communicate well, great to have visibility on the kitchen. Secondly, we were with our 20-year-old son who has severe autism and learning disabilities. Your staff made sure that everything went smoothly and well and that he had his food when he needed it. Special shout-out to Hannah, Ebony & Kat, as they could not do enough for us and were very considerate to our needs as a party. This means a lot to us as a family, so we just want to thank you all for insuring that your restaurant is suitable for all to eat at, and is inclusive. Again, the food was also first rate. The best pub food we have had in some time! Service was great as well. Made very welcome with our dog as well. Nothing was too much trouble.

A good Gastro style venue, offering nicely plated food, a bit expensive for the area, but well cooked and presented. The service was good, we were possibly not the quitest party but well served and managed in what is a popular venue. The pork belly whisky starter was nice if not a minimal serving for the £8.95, perhaps more a £7 dish. The large mixed grill platter was well cooked, lacked some of what I was expecting, being gammon, egg, and tomatoes, having a southern fried chicken style piece and a nicely cooked steak. It looked vast but layout was at play here for £38.50 it was fair value but I have had better for this price point, probably a £30 dish I believe. Overall a good venue I would visit again for more special occasions.

I so wanted to give more stars! I booked a table for 20.15, but arrived at 20.05 with an apology for being early. I was told my table wasn't ready (no worries, I was early) I was shown to a holding area and told a drinks order would be taken (this never happened) walk ins were getting served quicker. 25 minutes later I was shown to a table centre to the restaurant (I was dining alone) I asked for another table, was sorted. Food was good, a complementary drink equalled a 'service' mess. I would eat here again though.

Lovely mixed grill, but a little pricey

Visited the Copper Pot for food for the first time. Last time I visited it was the Commercial Hotel, which shows how long ago that was. The service was excellent, our waitress was super friendly and helpful. The barman was also very friendly. For starters I opted for pakoras while my companion chose pork belly in the blink of an eye. When it appeared the scene was reminiscent of the scene from “When Harry met Sally.” Needless to say, the pork was apparently delicious. For mains I had a grilled halloumi and falafel burger. It came well presented and tasted as good as it looked. Portion size was generous, washed down by creamy Felinfoel Double Dragon ale. A pleasant surprise and a lovely meal. Will definitely recommend and hope to visit again soon.

On arrival we entered the narrow corridor to be greeted by a busy and ambient restaurant. Whilst all serving staff were busy the bar staff acknowledged our arrival politely and ensured us "name" will be with us shortly. Shortly followed by the appearance of said named person (I'm not great with names). Due to our impromptu arrival and late descending a quick check was made with the kitchen and we were politely offered a table. The dining area was well laid out to give the impression of space but with all but one table full we asked if we could dine outside. Not a problem in the slightest and the long walk through the establishment began. As it was our first visit we were clearly directed and set off on our way. (I'm not exaggerating it's a long walk). As you amble through the establishment you see the attention to detail that has gone into utilising the space whilst maintaining an appearance of calm and chilled yet "something a little special" to every part of the building. Passing the kitchen hatch you see that they work with limited space and as a people who work in a kitchen we could appreciate the systems and efficiency implemented to keep such a busy bar / restaurant so presentable and clean. Even at a glance we both know where and how to see the hygiene of a kitchen. We continued through the nicely designed interior to reach the winding path to the secret garden. A well kept clean and desirable outdoor dining area with plenty of shelter and again extremely efficient and effective use of a small space. Staff were promptly with us to offer the menu and away pleasantly to fetch our drinks. We perused the well balanced if not somewhat short menu and as our drinks arrived we were ready to order. As someone in the trade I am aware my dietary requirements are a nightmare to deal with but without a flutter of impatience or a scowling of irritation I was quickly informed of the changes available and offered an ideal alternative. After an enjoyable cigar in the secret garden with it's step away from the world calm and quietness our meals arrived. Salmon for myself and the mexican chicken for my partner. Both meals were presented as I would expect from somewhere with a higher price tag. The portions were more than adequate to satisfy an appetite and the meals cooked perfectly. Ingredients clearly chosen carefully main meats fish definitely not nasty wholesale frozen and accompaniments (guacamole, coleslaw and onion rings) were not from a packet, freezer or standard mass production supplier. It's rare to manage to impress both of us as with decade plus in the food industry we have gained the ability to spot certain suppliers trade marks and tricks to dress up food and mass produce whilst giving the end user an impression of unique, individual or home made. On this occasion we both felt the ingredients, individual cooking styles and quality of produce suggest properly sourced and well made dishes from the kitchen. Throughout dining the staff were attentive not intrusive, pleasant and approachable. Leaving us with a definite feel of welcome, at ease in our visit and impressed not only by the design, atmosphere, ambience, layout, staff and food. A clean and efficient dining experience with quality and excellent service. Congratulations copper pot on achieving such praises from two bitter industry hardened diners with high expectations.

Great meal, good to see a restaurant that does a small menu well rather than an extensive menu averagely. Prawn starter good, pork belly good, Steak was perfectly cooked (rare) and nicely seasoned. well presented, salmon also good size and well presented. All waiting staff polite and friendly but also attentive. My only critiic would be that a lot of menu items either have chilli in or are garnished with red chillies and sadly I can't eat them. I just had to pick them off. I do however look forward to my next visit.

Dealt with my allergies amazingly, steak was cooked exactly how I wanted, really good. Only a 4 for service because we got forgotten about for drinks, but otherwise really good. Thank you

Absolutely wonderful, I had the salmon, my husband the ribs, I am not in the habit of writing reviews, but this place so deserves a large pat on the back, had an amazing meal in such a friendly atmosphere, well done to the team behind the Copper Pot especially Cat who was so welcoming

Today we had a great Sunday lunch in this friendly, welcoming restaurant. Everything was perfect. If you want a generous helping of tender meat (we had pork) and lashings of fresh veg, this is the place to come.

The spare ribs were beautifully cooked and delicious. Just one niggle, the chips were more like chip sticks, very thin and hard. Just spoiled the experience slightly. Overall certainly worth a visit. Better to book.

10/10 would recommend! Anyone who hasn't been, GO! Food is sooo good. If you've been, you know how good it is. Get back there!

We had a lovely meal here. No starters but I had the smashed burger and my husband had the ribeye. Rib eye can be a little sinewy and sadly this one hadn’t been trimmed properly. When we brought this to the managers attention, she couldn’t do enough for us. In fact, all the staff were genuinely happy not only to the customers, but to each other out the back. We had raspberry Eton Mess and that was out of this world. Absolutely delicious! We had a cocktail and sat out in the secret garden which was lovely. Thank you Copper Pot- we will definitely be back!

Food was lovely. Good to have the tempura prawns back on the menu, the flat iron steaks were perfectly cooked, tender and tasty. And a good Chilean merlot went down nicely too. We'll be back.

Great place for actual food, rather than frozen stuff from a wholesaler. The Menu is a good balance of interesting and reliable, with something for everyone. The decor isn’t ’Instagram worthy’, but neither is my face, so who cares? All this is made better by it being independent and knowing you’re supporting a local business. Wouldn’t hurt for them to have a few more interesting beers 😉

I was preached to about the half rack of ribs and had to try them for myself, all I can say is that they are quite possibly the best ribs I have had in years, accompanied by smiling happy service and a great playlist. If you are anywhere near this place you simply have to include it in your itinerary.

It was OK, I wouldn't return though. The food was OK but no more than that. Had the mixed grill, it came on paper on a tray and the blunt steak knife had problems cutting through the meat. This made the paper to tear and I ended up picking paper out of the food. Service could have been better, I had an empty glass which I wanted to be refilled but had to wait for the waitress to stop talking to her friends, waited approx 3 minutes which is a while when dining alone and trying to get the attention of someone.

If you want a decent Sunday lunch … come here! Delicious! Nice portion sizes. Friendly staff, lovely building, great food! Thank you!

I am always nervous in a new venue - but I needn’t have been as this place is certainly dog friendly. Small but cozy with friendly staff I was soon put at ease and my owners were nice and relaxed ( which always helps). Same old problem though the food was so good I saw very little of it - I hate it more when they give you a little taster- on this occasions some scrumptious morsel of roast beef - and then no more as it’s so scrumptious they keto the rest for themselves. Then of course the constant chatter about how good the food was on the way home in the car with no thought to my poor rumbling belly and ignited taste buds - it’s just not cricket! Oh and apparently the best and wine were also great - and whilst I was offered some fresh water all as no plateful if beef on this occasion - I live in hope! So to recap a great Sunday lunch with fab service and two very happy owners E

Went for a Sunday roast dinner. The menu is very limited with only 2 x types of starters and 3 x types of roast. So if you are very picky eater perhaps call in to find out the menu before booking. So as a starter we both had mushrooms on toast (The other option was fried cauliflower). Nothing special really, and won’t be remembered. The main was beef roast (other option was Turkey roast or nut roast). Apart from super salty gravy (it was sickly salty) the food wasn’t offensive, but also wouldn’t win any awards. The wine on the other hand was very offensive. Only should be used for drain unclogging, not for human intake. The venue itself is super cold, so only ideal for hot sunny days. Staff are nice, service is fast. Dog friendly. I’m very surprised that the place has got such high ratings. I really cannot give more than 3 stars as the food was just not up to the standard. Personally I think place has got the potential, but things would have to get better. Would I return ? - No.

Good food, friendly staff, nice location and one of a handful of restaurants open on a Tuesday in early March. Only downside was it was a bit cold inside even with the heating on.

Fantastic service and the food was amazing! The staff were really friendly and the place was super clean. They had no problem catering to my allergy and explained they had different deep fryers to manage this. Very happy and look forward to eating there again

8 of us went here for a meal, unfortunately everyone was disappointed. Chips were cold, very skinny so difficult to keep warm. Steaks were very griselly. Chicken burger wasn't great. Very limited menu. Quite expensive for what it was. Definitely won't be going there again.

We had a fantastic meal at the Copper Pot we were attracted by the specials, oven baked salmon and the Mongolian beef. Preceded by Chimichurri king prawns and Welsh Rarebit. Lovely friendly atmosphere by all who braved the icy pavements this combined with excellent service made the evenings experience. Will definitely revisit
