We had a family meal and the waiting staff were knowledgeable about the menu, polite, friendly and patient while our youngest deliberated over his choices. We all enjoyed our food and loved looking out the window at the waves and surfers. I had the chicken, leek and bacon pie and I keep thinking about how delicious it was!

We were recommended here by our air B&B host. Wow what an amazing pub, views stunning , hospitality fantastic and the food was outstanding. I’m vegan and there were plenty of choice, I had the three bean chilli and my husband had beef madras. Both quality home cooked food. Can’t recommend this place enough . It does get busy so I would advise to book, dog friendly too

Lovely food in a great location, with friendly staff. Dogs welcome, and it's on the Wales Coastal path, of course. Large picture window at the front, overlooks crashing waves in the bay. 4 hot mains took about 15-20 mins, with a fairly busy pub, and there a couple of steps up to the main toilets - I didn't see a wheelchair accessible loo there, alas.

Was made to feel very welcome as I sat there in the window overlooking Llangrannog beach with a pint of delicious real ale. The others joined me (my excuse was that I am injured) and we just had soup. I say just had soup, my smoked haddock chowder was exceptional. My wife was raving about the cawl for a while after. We drove through the beautiful Welsh countryside to the lovely little seaside town, Llangrannog, a village established in the 6th century. A statue of St Carannog, the founder of the town stands on top of the cliff looking down over the bay. We enjoyed our meal of homemade broccoli and cheese soup with crusty rolls at The Pentre Arms at the beach, it has a picture window so you could look over the bay with its big stone entrance. According to legend, the giant Bica had such bad toothache he spat his tooth out on the beach! The large weathered stack of Ordovician rock reminded me rather of a huge bullfrog sitting in the water. The service was good and friendly and we enjoyed gazing out of the window watching the waves lapping onto the stony beach.

We had lunch here a few years ago and the seafood chowder we had was delicious . Today for lunch we opted for the specials : pork for my friend and supreme chicken for me . There was no mention anywhere on the menu about the meat provenance : local? Free range? .there was nothing ‘supreme’ about my chicken dish , the veg were ok but the sage and onion gravy was awful and watery. Another disappointment was the coffee, no barista coffee machine in sight , for such a prominent establishment right by the beach I would have thought it to be an essential bit of equipment . On the plus side our waitress was very friendly .

The meal was second to none. One of us had the Moroccan lamb, which was said to be fabulous. One had steak and kidney pie ( could only eat half, took the other half home in a doggy tray. To nice to waste. Other one had Chicken and mushroom pie nothing left ( says it all ) I was very hesitant about having the Steak casserole, (I’ve seen people in other places over the years, leaving biggest part of the meal due to fat and gristle. ) I didn’t want chips or pies so that was the only option. Well was I pleased meat was so tender and no fat or gristle in sight, absolutely delicious. Can’t praise it enough. 4 people, 4 different meals and every one of them was spot on. Definitely going again. ASAP.

We went here to eat on the first night of our holiday as it was recommended by others. It’s a traditional seaside pub with an adjoining restaurant area. We hadn’t booked but there was nobody to seat us so we just assumed the tables were free to use, so we sat down & ordered drinks (7:15pm). After the drinks arrived a server came up to say we needed to vacate the table as it was booked for 8pm, although there was no reserved sign on it like others had. Thankfully there was a small table in the bar free. The bar area is very claustrophobic, I’m sure it is lovely in the winter but it was super busy and the table we had was squished up next to the bar, people were leaning on our table while they waited to order drinks!

We have visited this pub twice a year every time we come to Wales for the past 7 years. Two years ago we got engaged on the beach and celebrated afterwards in the pub. The pub itself is in a great location, the food and welsh cider delicious and staff have always been absolutely lovely....until our visit today. We took our baby son and two friends who are holidaying with us along, having raved to them about what a great place it is, only to be served by a member of staff who seemed to go out of his way to be as unhelpful and unaccommodating as possible. Firstly we were told we couldn’t bring our dogs in because they were wet which is fair enough, however it was more the unfriendly way it was delivered. After getting confirmation we were actually allowed in we ordered drinks and had a look at the food menu. As you come in there is a notice on the door saying if you have food allergies to speak to the staff. Myself and my husband ordered sandwiches but our friends were unable to eat anything on the menu, so asked the barman if they could have a salad, and promptly told this was not possible is the same rude and unhelpful manner. So we were surprised when our sandwiches were served with generous side of salad, I imagine our request for a salad probably was “possible”, as essentially it was the same as what my husband and I had ordered just without the bread, but they just couldn’t be bothered with us. Perhaps there was a legitimate reason why they couldn’t manage it, but they were not interested in explaining it to us. The experience has really put me off going again. Today’s experience was in stark contrast to previous visits and has clouded my previous happy memories of the place. We aren’t difficult customers nor do we have unrealistic expectations, but manners don’t cost anything and we were made to feel unwelcome from the moment we walked in the door.

Phoned ahead to book a table. The lad on the phone was very helpful and polite. Gave me a taxi number to arrange a lift back. Couldn't fault the service. The same when I arrived. The bar staff were very pleasant. A good beer selection, 3 cask real ales. A fantastic view from the bar area looking out to the sea. The food was also good quality and a fair price for the location. The only qualm I had is that my food took some time. I was on my own so it wasn't a major issue, but the table beside me had 2 young children and were waiting a good 45-60 mins, they chased up but it hadn't arrived by the time I left. Perhaps this was a one off for the pub, it was busy for a Tuesday evening granted. It looked to me as though they need an extra body serving during the holiday period though, or maybe it's just a small kitchen.

Visited this pub recently as it has 3 vegan options, which is good to see, so it didn't mean we both had to choose the same thing. Great view, on the beach. Most of the pubs in the area have one vegan option which is quite often a curry or chilli so a burger option was good (If I had one suggestion, a pie would be even better, to feel more 'pubby').

It's position right on the beach front is enhanced by its lovely large windows giving a spectacular view. We were so very lucky that just as we entered a couple were vacating their seats in the window. Our little dog curled up under the table and we enjoyed first class service, despite it being remarkably busy, and the fresh halibut was out of this world. ....grilled perfectly and served with chips for me, salad for my wife. We stopped for dinner here on the first night of our Welsh holiday. Drawn in by the fabulous beach view, we found a table overlooking the bay. The menu was fairly typical pub food (although pretty pricey, average meal £15-20 per main dish) with a few more interesting dishes like lamb shank, which I had. Hubby had the steak. We both ended up leaving all the fatty and gristly bits and most of the overcooked peas and veg (and we love our veg). My main impression was that the food was overpriced for what it was. Don't get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with it, and if you love pub grub then you'll be as happy as Larry. I'm just a really healthy eater so it just wasn't for me. And we found much better restaurants on other days of our holiday.

We arrived at the Pentre Arms without a reservation after an afternoon having spent walking the dogs at the beach. We loved that we could take our well behaved dogs inside into the bar area to eat and found the surrounds to be very welcoming. The evening menu had a good selection to choose from and all of our party enjoyed our meals. The food was very good and the service was also quick. We didn’t go in the restaurant but could see through and it looked lovely. We will definitely be recommended this place to friends.

Excellent food and beer in this small friendly pub. We can see why they win awards! Lovely to have Stokers sauce sachets on hand (much bigger than the usual measly sachets of sauce most places seem to provide these days). Despite (or because of) the heatwave, we sat indoors to enjoy a cool breeze and still have excellent sea views.

Lovely meal, well presented and well cooked. More than enough veg and delicious SeaBass. Not rushed, cheerful staff although very busy. Lovely view of one of the nicest beaches in Wales. Reasonable price too.

Well it’s simple I can’t fault anything at this hidden gem of a place. Food was well above basic pub grub, views can’t be beaten and I can assure you we are now regulars
