Mustard Seed in Ceredigion

Yr Hedyn Mwstard/The Mustard Seed has to be the most popular place to eat durung the day. We arrived at 11.45 today and found one of the last remaining tables. By midday the place was full. We had our bacon in sandwiches today, rolls sold out, but just as tasty as ever. Superb lunches cooked on the premises and the dessert display has to be seen to be believed. Can recommend the ‘specials’ lunch board and all generous servings of cakes and gateaux. Fairtrade trade coffee, Puro, strong and good quality. Run by the church next door, the volunteers do a magnificent job keeping the residents of Lampeter happy and well fed. A real community feel to the place.

We called into this lovely little cafe whilst out on a bike ride. What a hidden gem it is. We had two lovely sandwiches and a pot of tea for two. It was quality and excellent value for money. The staff were really friendly and welcoming 👌👌🚴‍♂️

If you want a friendly, customer focused cafe for a lunch meal, or hot beverage this is the place. We have eaten here on many occasions and never been disappointed. It's great value for money and has a good range of home made goods to choose from. Try their quiche, it delicious. The tea is a good brand and plentiful, too, which comes in a china pot. Some might find it old fashioned, but it's more traditional. Very clean throughout and popular.

Friendly staff, plenty of seats to sit, place looks a bit old fashioned needs a bit of a modern uptake. Reasonable price and food ok.

When stopping on a journey via Lampeter we always pop in here. The food is superb with locally sourced ingredients. We recently called in for a late breakfast. The bacon roll was substantial, of excellent quality. On previous occasions we have had cooked lunches, jacket potatoes, paninis or delicious home made cakes. The establishment is run by the church next door. The volunteers working here are so courteous and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them. A good sign is that so many local people meet up here and there was a group in a meeting room at the rear on our recent visit. A hive of activity in a popular venue. Well done to all involved with ‘The Mustard Seed’!

Love going here always helpfull food is lovely and tasty

My mum, a regular customer had no water or power all night because of the recent cold weather, went into this cafe 10 minutes early to pay for an Xmas dinner, explained her situation to the staff and this so called Christian cafe wouldn't even give her a hot drink, as it wasn't officially open. Needless to say she won't be going there again.

Had an amazing Christmas dinner there. The staff are very friendly and the raspberry roulette is absolutely gorgeous.

A delightful cafe with a warm welcoming atmosphere, a delicious late lunch was enjoyed in very pleasant surroundings on a wet and windy Saturday.

Friendly attentive staff, warm homely surroundings

A group of 8 ladies bowled up for lunch without booking at 1.30. We were greeted with a smile, 3 table were pushed together to seat us all. We all enjoyed our meal.

One of the highlights and a must of every family visit to Wales is lunch at the Mustard Seed. We love The Mustard Seed Special but have taken to sharing these to save room for their delicious homemade cakes and desserts. They have fabulous gluten free options too. I particularly love their Apple cake. Super friendly team and traditional tearoom environment makes every visit special.

Best bacon bap I’ve ever tasted in this lovely cafe. Very spacious and a wide selection of books to read to pass the time and pleasant outdoor space. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff Special thanks to two young waitresses who helped me to book bus tickets to nearby Aberaeron.. Even told me where to buy some of that delicious Welsh bacon! Thanks for a couple of memorable breakfasts!

Fantastic, friendly, spotlessly clean, great value for money. The Summer Soup was so good my Husband asked for the recipe ( chief cook at home,) was given a copy to take home. A truly Christian experience, Thank you.

Came here regularly with my dad when he was in a wheelchair and will continue now that he's no longer with us. Lovely staff, food and atmosphere, and now a lovely outdoor seating area to boot. Highly recommended. (Disabled loo and plenty of space for wheelchairs :) )

A real pleasure to find a Christian bookshop and cafe in Lampeter. Greatly enjoyed their gluten free welsh cakes! Definitely be back for more of those. Really friendly service. Love the second hand bookshop in the back with a nice selection of welsh and English Christian books. Also some boxes of toys in the back so nice coffee stop off with a toddler.

Stopped off fırça break on a North to South Wales trip. Very, very friendly staff (Who I guess are volunteers). Everything home cooked from local ingredients. I had a wonderful vegetarian quiche my Dad had some mackerel which he said was excellent. No room left for the gorgeous looking cakes. I wouldn't go anywhere else in Lampeter. Quiet relaxing. Welcoming. And excellent food

The staff are always lovely, helpful and friendly, the premises (including toilets) are nicely presented and clean! There is a nice menu with a lovely selection of cakes and sweets on show to choose from. I would not hesitate to recommend this to a friend for an afternoon meet up.

Beautiful homemade cakes ,friendly service and most helpful as I suffer with coeliac disease.Nothing was to much trouble we will be back .A hidden gem .

Traditional ‘cafe’ decor but immaculately clean, incredibly friendly staff and good menu, not vast but done well with daily specials. Were very accommodating of ingredient requests and other requests, namely asking for just a banana! Reasonably priced, great place for lunch.

Wonderful café. Lovely homemade food. There is a regular menu ad also a specials board. Always lots of yummy cakes. A selection of coffees. Very helpful and friendly staff. Plenty of seating with a a small patio garden are the rear of the café,, accessed through the café. There is wheelchair access with a disabled toilet. There highchairs provided.

What a lovely afternoon tea we had here. We were thoroughly spoilt. The staff and food was exceptional, and nothing was too much trouble for them. My sister who has a tolerance to gluten even had a sandwiches and cakes which were spectacular. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome. Thank-you so much to you all, 100% for the tea and staff

Been here over the years and always received a person welcome which is extended to all who come here. Very supportive of the university students. Excellent home made and cooked food. The many regulars who use this as their first port of call show how good it is it.

A very handy bolthole when it was raining heavily; it turned out to be s warm and welcoming cafe with tasty, home-cooked food at reasonable prices, and with very friendly staff. I would go there again for coffee and cake or lunch.

We sat in the sunny rere terrace and had a delicious lunch. The patio terrace was quiet and relaxing. I had a ploughman's lunch which was very freshly prepared with quality ingredients.

A really cute cafe all the staff are lovely and really welcoming. The strawberry scones are delicious and must be homemade.

Relaxing atmosphere. Everything, from soup to sponge, is homemade. Freshly ground coffee (also take out), coupled with staff that always seem happy and eager to please. They also do functions, and we celebrated my mother's eightieth birthday, about twenty of us. So much food, all of it of a very high quality.

The coffee and pies here are second to none, they also have a nice selection to choose from!

Cycled down here from Aberystwyth- a great stop ! Had a Capuccino and a Large Bowl of Cawl (Beef and Vegetable Soup) with bread and cheese- DELICIOUS! The staff so friendly and helpful. Worth stopping for next time your'e in Lampeter. Thanks
