I am not a moaner by nature, always looking for the positive. Staff were great and welcoming, as were the surroundings and ambience. Limited menu, in my eyes is a good thing as you expect quality to be focussed. However, after two courses came away hungry- I am not a big chap, 5’ 9” 12 stone, normal appetite. My posh prawn cocktail was great, the crispy skin chicken wings, not crispy. Your local chippy would be embarrassed to serve you the smallest piece of haddock I have ever seen, I mean come on Apex, where is your quality control, don’t you want repeat clients? Coffee, what is so difficult about having a hot cup of coffee? I returned it, as it was luke warm, the replacement was also luke warm, why doesn’t anybody warm the cup, I like to enjoy my coffee at leisure, not gulp it down before it freezes over. The waitress kindly discounted the cost, I spend a lot of time in Edinburgh and I have to say, I have a far better dining experience there. Come on Apex, put some effort in and put Dundee on the map. Oh, did I mention £9.50 for a glass of house wine? I never tip when being ripped off by wine cost. Lets get real shall we?

Swung by the drive through and ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and hunters chicken wrap. Both were delicious, loads of flavour and great quality. The chips portion was huge. Came to around £17 which is not bad for the quality and portion size. We could have shared one between two of us really. Recommend the drive through over going in to eat as this would have cost £16.95 per wrap if eating inside, which is way overpriced. We went in for some cheesecake too and honestly, the best cheesecake I’ve ever had (tablet / white chocolate raspberry). The have a fantastic menu including a breakfast menu. Some thought has really gone into it and the food is excellent so I do highly recommend for a drive through.

Thoroughly enjoyed home made soup and a delicious panini for my lunch followed by tea and biscuits. Didn't want big breakfast my hotel offered and the tea rooms bacon roll and excellent cuppa got my day of to a good start - 3 times. Found the staff very friendly. Sorry for other traveller who felt ignored must have been a one off.

Best little pub on the Black Isle. The craic is fantastic. The new owners have made huge improvements and the new and improved beer garden is a gem for the good weather. Selection of wines etc. available. Pool room and darts. Open mic nights and whisky tasting. Highly recommend!

We were on a Highlands day tour and stopped for break. My wife and I had fresh baked scones and tea and it was lovely. The owners were welcoming, the place was comfortable, the scones delicious and the tea was proper hot. There's a back patio and the weather was nice so we sat outside to enjoy. Recommended!

Staff very friendly, but asked for donner with my order. Waited nearly 30 minutes as they had just put the donner machine on so expected to have freshly cut donner with my order. When I went to collect I saw the machine hadn’t had its first cut but my order was ready? So I clarified that I only want fresh donner and not left over batch from the day before but was told it was okay to eat. I had a taste of the donner and it was clearly reheated and stale and refused to touch anymore of it. So money and food went to waste as I didn’t want to get any food poisoning which I did mention to the guy when collecting order. Disappointed as it was my first and last visit and reheated donner should not be given to customers as it can cause food poisoning.

Not a great experience, 2 out of 4 ordered coronation chicken. This was definitely off. The smell from the chicken when it arrived was terrible. The consistency of it was not normal either. I tasted it for my daughter and it tasted of vomit. My 2 daughters didn't want anything by then and the meals went back to the kitchen. When I started to eat my haggis panini, the haggis was cold and hard in the middle. Extremely disappointing experience and the manager didn't seem to take the feedback on board. At first I thought the coffee was okay and then my last mouthfull was full of ground coffee. A really overpriced disappointment. Wish we had just gone to Baynes next door.
