The best restaurants serving British food in Forres Moray Highlands and Islands

Drove from an hour away on a sightseeing day only to have owners say there is no restaurant here. So then had to drive back the other way to go to our second choice restaurant.

Heading home from a trip up north, we stopped at the Mosset for an evening meal. We have had many enjoyable meals there in the past, and tonight was no exception. A varied menu, reasonable prices, friendly helpful staff and most importantly, a very enjoyable meal. It is well worth a visit to the Mosset.

Finally had a chance to try this well reviewed restaurant despite not having a booking for Sunday dinner Staff were warm, friendly and gave us a chance to peruse the menu. Cannot fault the food and service. will most definitely go again and try week day menu.

We popped into the Phoenix Cafe for a quick coffee and cake treat while passing then returned the next 4 mornings as it had such a beautiful calm feeling. The coffee was delicious and I adored the truffles. My son enjoyed his brownies and soft drink. The staff were friendly and helpful.

First visit here and I have to say I really liked the fish and chips. Went for the haddock and chips. It was extremely nice. The chips were cooked well and the Haddock had lots of taste. Prices were very reasonable. Staff were friendly.

Got 1 takeaway cup of latte cost…..£4.24! Must be the dearest coffee in Scotland. I queried the price but was told this was correct.

Travelling back from Aberdeen and not wanting to finish our first time away without our now adult children, we decided to take the West Coast route home, weather was delightful and the views splendid. Getting tired and hungry we found ourselves in Findhorn a beautiful place nect to the sea. We decided to drop into the Crown and Anchor to see if there was room at the Inn. Luckily there was so after unpacking we went down to the bar for a warm by the fire and a drink. The selection of beers and other refreshments was amazing. After a drinks we took a look at the menu and again not disappointed. We ordered and our meal came promptly. Two empty plates later we had a nightcap from the whisky selection then off the bed for a sound night sleep. The staff are excellent and friendly as are the locals. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Brodie. Very high class retail establishment with wonderful products. The coffee and cake was delicious and the staff very friendly. We will visit again next time we are in Scotland.

We had dinner last night and it was excellent. The portions are large and the food is good quality. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. We always visit when on holiday and will definitely be back soon.

Afternoon tea was very nice, the only thing I can say was a problem was trying to find someone when we arrived, it took 10-15 mins to locate someone. We had a very pleasant afternoon and the food was lovely and plentiful. We would happily go back again. Perhaps you need to upgrade your disabled ramp.

Stumbled upon this farm shop and cafe while looking for a late lunch. Lovely menu with sandwiches, soup, jacket potatoes etc. All food freshly made. We had ham sandwiches and a slice of cake, all of which were tasty. We ordered a child meal for our 21 month old son which consisted of a sandwich, few quavers, grapes and cucumber slices and a small chocolate bar (that they gave us after he ate his main meal, which was handy!). There is a big play area for children with lots of toys. The farm shop was well stocked and seemed to have a steady trade. On the way out the lady at the till said we could take some cabbage leaves to feed the cows with, which I’m sure was the highlight for my son (and hubby hehe)!

We're on holiday been to the Abbey for Sunday lunch which was amazing also went Saturday evening had the two steaks and a bottle of wine deal cooked to perfection (well done chef) staff We're very welcoming and helpful felt like we were in our local . Excellent all round .

My wife and I visited recently, superb setting. lovely meal and good service. Would highly recommend.

We took a group of 10 German visitors plus friends for the £10 lunch deal. We had given our menu choices in advance, but with such a wide range of choices it took a while to work out who had ordered what. However, it got sorted, the sandwiches were excellent and everyone was very satisfied with their choice. The staff was attentive and, since we were given the dining area all to ourselves, the atmosphere was quite intimate.
