Stumbled upon this farm shop and cafe while looking for a late lunch. Lovely menu with sandwiches, soup, jacket potatoes etc. All food freshly made. We had ham sandwiches and a slice of cake, all of which were tasty. We ordered a child meal for our 21 month old son which consisted of a sandwich, few quavers, grapes and cucumber slices and a small chocolate bar (that they gave us after he ate his main meal, which was handy!). There is a big play area for children with lots of toys. The farm shop was well stocked and seemed to have a steady trade. On the way out the lady at the till said we could take some cabbage leaves to feed the cows with, which I’m sure was the highlight for my son (and hubby hehe)!

Stopped here with my family as the wee man is obsessed with animals. I think he was a bit overwhelmed in all honesty - there were a vast amount of Cows (old and young). He seemed to love it though. We were told that there were no Birds / Poultry due to Foot & Mouth disease - hopefully they’ll be back soon! We tried the Cafe for Lunch and it was good. I opted for the ‘Soup / Sandwich’ combo, my wife the ‘Tuna Panini’ and our son the ‘Kids Combo’. All thoroughly enjoyed. There was also an indoor play area - fairly basic but entertaining. The wee man managed to find the toy Horses for sale as well - turned out to be an expensive day haha. If you are a fan of local produce you need to visit the Shop - it was packed with fresh ingredients and chilled / frozen meats. All in all, a pleasant couple of hours enjoyed locally. Definitely recommended as a short stop for any size of family.

Another “Google” find as I was touring this area. The signposts say “Farm Shop” but inside it’s amazing. A huge room full of soft play apparatus, plus swings, slides etc etc! But separately is an enclosed room for coffees, lunches and all things “home-made” awesome! Not the least bit expensive and was very busy (school holidays!) but seemingly well run by the smiley pleasant ladies in charge. It’s a good idea to keep the noisily playing children apart from those who want a quite drink, and it works. Mothers and fathers can take their refreshments into the play area though. The attached farm shop had all things veg and fruity and it looked good. The car park is actually the quiet large farmyard. Well worth the slight detour.

We love coming to the farm, foods always great, staff are friendly and welcoming, loads for the kids to do/play with. also sell fruit vegetables and things through in the shop area. They supply scraps quite often for the kids to feed the cows. we visit quite alot and couldn't recommend it enough.

We come here quite often and I really like it. Yes, it's quite basic, but the staff are welcoming, the cakes are excellent and the kids have a good time playing. I love the Victoria sponge in particular. It's light, fluffy and, like everything else they serve, clearly home made. The latte is nice but I tend not to like my coffee too strong so it may not be to everyone's taste. Have had lunch here a couple of times. Good homemade soup and I really liked the burger roll. It's no-nonsense food so if you're looking for haute cuisine, it's not the place for you. The kids love the play area and enjoy it more than some of the soft play places they go to because there's plenty to fire their imaginations. It can be busy at times but there's plenty to do. The farm shop sells excellent produce and the kids love going out to feed the cows with the veggie scraps the shop provides for them.

Disappointed that we made the 25 mile trip. Staff are completely unaware of what basic manners are, let alone customer service. Food was terrible, soup tasted old and like it was from a tin. Wouldn’t return!

Woodside Farm will provide you with a warm welcome. The food is fantastic......homemade soups with choice of a roll, cheese scone (personal favourite) or oatcake with a variety of other options freshly made to order with local produce. The baking selection provides you with a difficult choice to make! The children's menu has a good variety with healthy options included. The staff are very friendly, helpful and efficient. Great indoor play area for children with seating around so you can relax enjoy your food and observe. Shop provides a variety of home grown veg, farm meats and local produce including biscuits, jams and chutneys to name a view. An excellent choice any time of year.

I would have given this place a better review had there been more seating around the play area. Every single time we come here there is no seats available, but more than enough space to add in 3 or 4 picnic benches, similar to what they already have. Can't understand the logic behind not putting these there. Surely the cost would be minimal especially when additional revenue could be made by having them. The results is you have nowhere to sit while your child plays, and you have nowhere to sit a cup of tea or cake, so you do not end up buying anything. This has really put me off coming back. Foods is quite good, everything is, but it's not much use if you don't have a seat to sit down on with it!

First visit here. Farm produce is lovely so we'll certainly be back to buy both meats and veg. Coffee shop had a great aray of home bakes, prices were good and service staff were pleasant. Certainly the indoor play area is perfect for very young children, though it is not designed for the older more boisterous kids. I'd certainly go back.

I won't have as much to say on this one as I often do in my reviews. All in all it was a pleasant experience with the staff ebing very welcoming and a quiet cafe. Layout wise it offered enough space between tables that you didn't feel like sardines, not so much you felt like you had full privacy but that's less needed in a cafe than a restaurant. If we had kids with us I would have enjoyed being able to see them from the big windows out in the little play area which looked liek it could fit quite a large number of kids happily. The shop in itself which you walk through to get to the cafe was nice, a nice simple layout and had a good range of products availible. Onto The food, it was simple stuff, not a big menu but covered the basics. I was surprised they didn't have small notes under each to say the products were produced or supplied locally. The burger I had was well cooked and flavourful and on a nice soft bread roll and the BLT my partner had was well filled with everything tasting very nice and fresh. Nice thick slices of bacon. For drinks they had a nice latte and a good tea selection. After we had a slice of victoria sponge which was lovely, nice and fresh. Really topped off a good visit. Overall I'd say this place is nothing special, it's an average sort of cafe all be it a leg up on some for those with kids given the nice play area. It doesn't really draw on the farm surrounding it to make the most of that aspect in my eyes. They could maybe look at the Allarburn farm shop in Elgin for some pointers on making that really the star of the experience. Maybe make the most of having the animals nearby by encouraging visitors to take a wander about.

Visited as a group of 7 and sat in play area. Kids had a great time (as always) with variety of equipment - swings, slide, frame, trampoline, pirate ship, toddler ride ones and plenty Wow toys vehicles, dress up and playhouse. Food and drinka lovely - sandwiches, kids platters, baked pots and soup. Cannot fault anything- great, friendly service. Best part is the home baking....yum yum yum.

Called in with friends and received a warm welcome. Newly baked scones with our coffee/tea were wonderful. Nice quiet area to chat - most people there with young children in the play barn have their refreshments at the tables at the end of the play barn and any noise is minimal. Farm shop sells lovely fresh veg, good selection of meat, eggs, etc. Nice for children to get a close up of some of the farm animals too. Well worth a visit.

For those that haven't been before, the place is a functioning farm with a small farm shop, tea room and indoor children's play area. The staff seem friendly enough, the play area for the children is brilliant and you can eat your food/drink whilst watching the children play. The food is tasty but basic in my opinion. The farm shop is also quite basic. You can wander the yard and see the cows and chickens. Nice way to spend a couple of hours but be warned; it can get very busy around lunch time! My 15mnth old loves it!

If you are ever near here, you definitely need to stop for a coffee and cake/scone. Hmmm, just delicious. Its a fantastic place to take young children too as they have their own indoor play area and you can sit and watch them or assist them on the apparatus too. Prices in coffee shop were very good and staff nice.Great place to stop and glad we did.

Love LOVE this place!Fantastic little free place for the kids to play.. Lovely wooden toys out, jigsaws and wooden play apparatus as well as the large trampoline.A few of the toys could be updated for the smaller ones, just by replacing batteries or the fancy dress but the kids always love to play without issue. The cafe is amazing, the cakes are fresh and home made and a great treat to finish off a small bite to eat.The menu is a good lunchtime menu with enough choiceThe farmshop has plenty of choice of fresh fruit and vegetables with a good selection of local, homegrown produceWe will miss this place when we moveMoira and Carrol are a credit to the farm shop, genuinely, sincerely lovely ladies!

I go regularly with my toddler. The toys are great with lots to do. There are loads of seats so you can see him playing and still enjoy eating! The food is great and he Staff are really nice. The veg shop is amazing. All the stuff is huge and they are practically giving it away. The beef and other produce is 1st class too. All in all a great place to go.

The farm shop itself is a little disappointing, a reasonable selection of veg and good for eggs but little else. As for the cafe, the staff are rather short with you and don't exactly welcome you with open arms (or even a smile). Serving terrible coffee and terrible food. I ordered a cappuccino and it was a cup of luke warm milk, not tasting of coffee in the slightest. I asked politely if I could have another shot of coffee in there, from which I received a scowl. 2 minutes later they brought me back the exact same cup put it down and didn't say anything! We also had a child's baked potatoes consisting of what I would call a large 'new' potato with a very measly spoonful of beans. He ate them in about two mouthfuls and he's only 20 months! (I dare not complain) The other food isn't much better having tried it a few times. They also accused my party of bringing our own crisps for the kids - however they had all been purchased in the cafe less than 15 minutes previously! No apology given. As for the play area (that's they only reason to go), like I said, it's ok for a rainy day but it could do with a little TLC. The toys for the smaller ones are no longer working and very battered. That said the trampoline is always popular as is the super fast slide. However it is free if you are willing to buy a cup of warm milk for coffee and be scowled at.

The farm is one of my daughter's favourite places just now. She's 2 years old. The barn has got some outdoor toys like swings, slide, trampoline and some other toys for the wee ones except it's indoors. Great if you're looking for something to do on a rainy day. Get there early though because it can get busy. Nice cakes and snacks, good coffee! You can even feed the cows and the hens which the little ones love doing.

Feeling peckish when we noticed the sign for the Woodside Farm coffee shop so we thought we would give it a try. The coffee shop is located in an old farm building which also incorporates a children's play area. There is also a small selection of gifts for sale. Entrance is via the farm shop which has a good selection of fresh vegetables. There was a good selection of home baking and two varieties of soup available but we decided on the fruit scones which proved a very good choice. The scones were exceptionally good and served with two portions of butter and a small portion of jam. This was extremely good value as a pot of tea for one, a cup of good coffee and two large fruit scones with butter and jam came to only £6.10. Service was quick and the young lady serving us was very pleasant. Will call in again if in the area.

Located from Forres from A96 take B9011 to Kinloss, farm at end of village on right.I like the farm shop and I go there for my bag of potatoes, other vegetables and relishes. There is a restaurant and a sort of barn play area for younger children with seating at the side. It seems a good indoor facility.I had a baked potato with cheese which was very nice but the coffee was awful, weak and tasteless. It is a very busy place and more suited to people with young families. It is very noisy. The service is slow and the staff do not speak to you.Parking is FREE.

As someone one else has pointed out, it’s now called the Spey Inn. Was there earlier this week for lunch as in area and parents recommended it from a visit a year or so ago. It was quiet but we got a friendly welcome from the two members of staff. My parents commented on the size of the menu which has apparently changed and did seemed limited in choices. 3 of us ordered the Cullen Skink soup. It tasted fine but not much fish ands lots of potatoes. Three of us then had sandwiches, the Club sandwich was very good, well filled with bacon, tomato etc and was tasty. Me and my mum both had the egg mayonnaise sandwich. It looked different in that it was 2 whole slices of toast which I thought may have been included in the description. That said I can live with this, however what was very unusual and disappointing was the quantity of filling in these two sandwiches. It appeared that there was a smear of egg mayo as in the quantity of butter you would spread on a slice of bread (and in this case it was spread onto 2 slices of thick toast). Without exaggerating it appeared that 1 egg had been used to fill 2 sandwiches . The salad that accompanied it was nice and the fish and chips the other member of our group had was apparently good. We did mention it to the server who said he’d mention our views to the chef, but it just seemed odd. We also mentioned to a member of staff at an early stage of our visit, that there was no soap in the gents toilets (you could clearly see the soap dispenser was empty when you walked in), however when leaving some time later this had not been rectified, despite the fact the restaurant was not busy. It wasn’t a cheap lunch and it was fairly disappointing overall. Unless this was a one off, don’t think I would return.
