Mosset Tavern is wonderful in everything.

Very nice lunch. 6 of us showed up with no reservation and the staff was great!

Food was excellent, staff friendly! 😋

We have been to the Mosset Tavern on a few occasions and have enjoyed our experience every time and highly recommend you go. There was a slight problem with our meal today but it was dealt with in such a professional manner, the manager was very prompt in sorting our issue, so much so that it didn’t dampen our experience at all and will be returning very soon.

What a wonderful evening at the Mosset Tavern! Every dish was delicious and in perfect sized portions. Our server, Leo along with the other staff could not have been more helpful and attentive. Thank you so much, we look forward to returning soon.

Went for a christmas night out. Place was packed, it was hard to get between some tables. However the night was brilliant dj fab as always. Quiz we didn't win! Food tasty christmas menu. Did miss my xmas pudding though.

Thank you so much team mosset for such a great night last night for the Now that's what I call a Christmas party. The decoration and tables looked amazing and the food was so good, dietary requirements for our table were catered for with care taken to explain the amendments and alternatives. Staff as always attentive and friendly. Only complaint was the music was toooo good! Couldn't stop dancing and my knees are feeling it today ha ha. Arranged a very last minute birthday event for a group of ten. Staff were so attentive, kind and patient. Various members of our party had dietary requirements - the FOH team and chefs were so accommodating. We are incredibly grateful for everything that was done to make this birthday special. 5 stars all around!

Wonderful place that is kid friendly with many different themed nights.

The Mosset is our usual go to place for celebration meals. We went most recently for my eldest's 18th and had a fabulous time. The food was really good and plentiful, and the service outstanding. Thank you again to Gordon and his team.

When visiting my son in Forres, we visited here several times. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Heading home from a trip up north, we stopped at the Mosset for an evening meal. We have had many enjoyable meals there in the past, and tonight was no exception. A varied menu, reasonable prices, friendly helpful staff and most importantly, a very enjoyable meal. It is well worth a visit to the Mosset.

Always a pleasure, never a chore. Very busy place. Friendly staff who are well trained and very informative. Gordon has done a great job in the last 15-plus years.

Had quite a nice lunch here after a tour and tasting at nearby Benromach. Loved the food and the staff! Delightful place!

We were staying in a nearby B&B and the owner recommended Mozart Tavern for dinner - we’re so glad they did! We weren’t terribly hungry but the beers were cold and entrees hot - we got the maple glazed pork chop (large a delicious) and seared scallops, which were also great. We’d recommend Mosset tavern if you’re staying east of Inverness and looking for a filling and tasty dinner.

Myself & my partner booked for lunch today (good tip to book as always so busy which is a good sign ). We chose the carvery as we have a good few times before. Yes the price has gone up a bit but then again so has everything else these days. Great selection of meats and vegetables and the Yorkshire puddings are always so big and tasty. We had actually booked a time later than we normally choose but there was still plenty to select. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal out in a friendly, lovely pub in the centre of Forres. What's not to like ? You will not be disappointed :)

Booked for lunch. A pleasant welcome and shown to our table. Good selection on the menu. Food was delicious and well presented. The staff were friendly and efficient. An excellent experience.

We were there for Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed. Great selection of roast meats and very tasty vegetables. I was absolutely stuffed but my husband and sister in law managed a huge dessert. The staff were excellent, it was extremely busy but they manged to keep smiling. We will definitely return the next time we are in the area.

A large party of 20 of us celebrating our son’s 18th birthday, from start to finish staff couldn’t do enough for us , the food was amazing and our son was made to feel very special. Well done team Mosset and of course Gordon

Great food and generous portions, the service was excellent, it was a big family gathering I just wish they had round tables rather than a long line.

Spot on service and food as always, have been numerous times and every time it's been great! I've never had a bad meal here or even mediocre to be fair, you're guaranteed an excellent meal if you stop in by. I would definitely recommend booking a table to avoid missing out as it's always busy. My partner is coeliac and they can cater for her with suitable gluten free meals as well.

What a beautiful place! Delicious food and great attentive staff. We were staying nearby for 3 weeks and managed to go to the tavern twice for lunch. Shame we live so far away but when we are visiting next, we will definitely come back. Thank you to your great staff and chef for some top quality meals.

Already several times in this very nice place, really doing both the restaurant side and the bar. I have border coli, the waiters are charming, Pacha was very pampered without even having to ask, he received water. Simple but really good food, especially the meat. Lovely people even if still a little more distant than on the west coast from my point of view. This place is located near a magnificent park…to do

4 of us came for lunch last Sunday, we'd booked in advance which was a good idea as the restaurant was very busy. Between us we had chicken schnitzel, fish and chips and the Sunday carvery. I liked that the staff tell you when to go up to the carvery as it means there's no big queue and it's timed so that everyone in your group gets their food at the same time. The carvery had a fantastic choice - beef, lamb, turkey and pork were our choice of meats this week. There were also roast and mashed potatoes, yorkshire puddings, skirlie, cauliflower cheese, carrots, cabbage, clapshot, celeriac, gravy and several sauces. Your choice of meat(s) is carved for you, then you help yourself to everything else. Fantastic value at £18 and very tasty too. The non-carvery meals the others had were big portions and tasted great too. I wasn't fit for pudding but the others had strawberry tart and caramel apple pie (only slight criticism was that the strawberry tart pastry was a bit hard) which again were good. I'm sorry that we were so quick tucking in that the only photo I took was the strawberry tart! Overall a delicious lunch, it had been a while since our last visit so definitely won't leave it so long til the next one - the beer garden looked good too so next time we'll maybe leave the car at home and take the bus!

The dining room staff was very courteous but we found the dishes poorly prepared.

Very welcoming staff, despite there being huge funeral lunch at the same time. We ate outside. It was really nice. Food very well presented and good sized portions. Varied menu, fantastic choice for coeliac sufferers. Almost anything was available. I had fantastic fish and chips, gluten free which was really unusual. We rarely have so much choice!

We always visit the Mosset Tavern when we holiday in Nairn, and we have had another lovely meal. It was Sunday so we had the carvery which was very tasty as usual. We love the bouncy castle ( well the kids do!) which is a nice touch while they are waiting. The staff were very helpful and attentive especially as two of our party have different food allergies. We will be back next year!

This is our main go to restaurant as we live in Forres. Never had a bad meal yet and I've lost count of the number of times we've been there. Food is excellent and very well priced. Really friendly and attentive staff. Nice touch too when it's an occasion.

Didn't actually eat here but looked good, fabulous place especially if you have fur babies our two Weims were greatly welcomed and given treats. Really friendly and enjoyed both our visits. Hope to be back soon. Thank you 😊

We had a lovely meal. Nice menu/ something for everyone. Best fish and chips I’ve had in ages. Service was great. Kids can’t eat in the bar but the restaurant was relaxed and there’s an a la carte menu until 5:30pm. I’d recommend booking early, even midweek. And the menu is available online if you want a look in advance. Plenty of parking around. Perfect. Thank you.

A nice location for outdoor eating overlooking a park and pond. I had a small smoked salmon and anchovy salad which was excellent. A little disappointed they neither did smaller portion meals nor allowed us to have childrens' ones. Apparently pensioners' meals are only available to passing visitors if they pass through on one particular day of the week. My husband had crisps for his meal which no doubt cost a lot less than a children's meal would have.

We were looking through reviews of a few restaurants for some time before deciding on mosset tavern. When we arrived it was sort of busy. We were seated next to a large table even though there were plenty tables else where. The atmosphere in there was quite negative, and the room was very stuffy. The staff were okay ish but a few waitresses seemed like they couldnt be bothered and didnt want to be there. The menue is bland and unwelcoming. We left before wasting our money. Oh and the carpark is in shambles.

Really enjoyed my meal here. It was a sizeable portion and very tasty.

Sea Bass itself was nice, but the accompanying veg was bland, chronically overcooked & swimming in oil. Not pleasant. (And there was no bread available to go with my really rather meagre scallop starter :(

We had lunch here whilst visiting Forres for the British pipe band championships… The fish and chips were excellent and the spicy chicken wings were on point too…. Fast, friendly service in a great setting and atmosphere. If you’re visiting Forres this is the place to visit for a meal.. fantastic..

Quite a pleasang stay overlooking a lovely water body and flowing river. Comfortable airbnb perfect for 2/3 families. All basic amenities probided except kitchen towels and waste bin packets, would recommend taking personal toileteries. The dishwasher switch was hidden behind a wall decor slanted on the wall, took us a while and a phonecall to determine where the switch was. The ipstairs is lovely with 2 big rooms and a smaller bedroom. The pnly downside is there are two toilets in the second floor which means everytime we needed to come down specially during the night. The air bnb is just above the pub so can get a bit noisy till 1am , but windows were soundproof enough to block the noise. We didnt get a chance to ise the pub as we were out and about.

Lovely food. We had the Korean chicken burger and Sunday carvery which were both excellent. Dog menu also available and very good. Great selection of real ales. We will definitely visit again when we are in the area.

We came here on a Friday 10th May for dinner, 2 adults, 1 teenager and 1 child. The food was delicious and the menu choices were fab, we will be back to try the other dishes! The young person who served us was brilliant, really polite and attentive, we were very impressed with the service we received. The atmosphere was great, it has a warm and friendly feel, noise levels are nice it's easy to have a conversation without having to raise your voice.

My friend & I booked a table. My food was delicious, even though I didn't think it was enough but then I had dessert as well & that was gorgeous. The staff made sure everything was ok throughout the night. It wasn't overly expensive too & we were left to chat for ages. I will definitely be back. Thank you. We forgot to take photos.

Only dropped in for coffee and scone with friends and all good. However on previous occasions when I've been in for dinner with friends I can rate food 4/5.

I was at the Mosset last Saturday for a family 60th and had the best time ! Everything was seamless from the service to the beautiful food and attentive and friendly staff! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a casual lunch /dinner to something really special ! Thanks to everyone for a great time !

We had another lovely meal for my husband's birthday at the Mosset last week. The staff were really helpful and accommodating for my son who has a limited range of food. We had the 2 course lunch meal, my husband and elder son had steak (which was delicious) and I had the chicken bites and as usual it was amazing. The boys had apple pie for pudding and my husband and I had the creme brulee with blood orange sorbet. I'm not a fan of orange but the sorbet was perfect. Not too tart or sweet. The creme brulee was beautifully rich and creamy. The kids loved their pudding and didn't leave a drop. We love the Mosset and always have a brilliant experience with the Mosset team. Will be back again soon!

One of the places to go for food! Hats off to the chefs!! It's been a struggle to find good quality food up here but this place sure does it! Never felt ripped off by the portion sizes and definitely need a sleep after.

Beautifully cooked and presented food at reasonable prices. Attentive service and the restaurant has a lovely ambience with all the fairy lights. Do enjoy a visit to The Mosset Tavern. Definitely recommend a visit. The venison steak was delicious!
